When you're first starting a job, noticing red flags on your first day is usually reason enough to can yourself.

You did everything you needed to do. You ensured your resume follows ATS guidelines. You completed not one, not two, but three different interviews. Don't forget the technical assessment! You alerted your references promptly, and then subsequently received your offer.

Below, you'll read about why certain employees quit their jobs nearly immediately. They share what made them leave, and what you should never, ever tolerate in the workplace.

21 Cattastic Cat Memes Purrfect for a Procrastinating Workday Scroll

LOL Cats - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 17:00
Cat memes are the unofficial coffee break of the internet.

Sometimes you just need a quick scroll break. Not a full lunch. Not a walk. Just a few solid cat memes while you sit at your desk pretending to think very hard.

One turns into five before you even realize it. A cat with its paws on a keyboard like it's about to send something it absolutely shouldn't. A cat staring at a screen with that thousand-yard look that says, "This could've been an email." The one dramatically lying on paperwork like deadlines are optional. It's too accurate.

There's also the classics. The "I'm busy" pose that looks nothing like actual purrductivity. The side-eye that feels directed at whoever scheduled that meeting. The slow blink that reads like, "We'll circle back." You don't even need captions half the time. The faces say it all.

It's not about wasting time. It's about surviving the day with small, harmless doses of joy. A few memes, a quiet laugh, maybe one sent to a coworker who's also hanging on by a thread. Then you close the tab and go back to work slightly less annoyed.

Nightshift security guard accused of stealing company electricity to charge his laptop, so he brings a typewriter to write his novel instead: 'It was never about the electricity'

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 16:00
Micromanagers want their workers to be working 100% of the time they're on shift; however, when there's nothing left to do, is an employee supposed to just sit and stare at the wall?

Bored on the nightshift, this security guard was keen on writing a novel in their spare time, but management couldn't fathom that a worker could multitask on the job. Although their duties were finished and their next round of checks wasn't for another hour, this employee was expected to sit there and do nothing, but instead of drowning in monotony and losing precious time, this worker decided to be productive for their outside project.

This "side project" turned into a huge drama in the workplace, but not in the way you would expect, because instead of being straightforward, management chose the cowardly way out, which backfired satisfyingly.

'Family is family': New parents weren’t sure how their cat would handle a newborn, but now they have a tiny furry babysitter on duty

LOL Cats - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 16:00
He was ready for the baby before anyone else was.

When this couple found out a baby was on the way, one of the biggest questions wasn't about diapers or sleep schedules. It was about the cat. Their male cat had always been attached, especially to his usual sleeping spot next to dad. So naturally, there were worries about how he'd react to such a big change.

During the pregnancy, though, something shifted. Instead of sticking to his usual place, he started sleeping near mom's belly and feet. Almost like he knew. It was a quiet adjustment that didn't make sense at first. Looking back, it feels like he was already keeping watch.

Once the baby arrived, any lingering fears faded quickly. He didn't act jealous or unsettled. He simply hovered nearby in a calm, respectful way. Not too close, not overwhelming, just present. He even claimed a little guard spot near the baby, like he'd assigned himself the role.

The worry about accidental swats or territorial behavior disappeared. What showed up instead was something softer. A steady, gentle presence. He seems to understand that this tiny new human belongs here.

Sometimes the biggest concerns turn into the sweetest surprises.

Fired employee wins $17K after former law firm employer refuses to pay his earned commissions: ‘They thought they could rip me off $4k and turned into substantially more’

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 15:00

'I said no more cats': Grieving woman finds striped 3-week-old kitten on the street just after her cat Nyx crossed the rainbow bridge, she takes her in anyway

LOL Cats - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 14:00
Sometimes what you want isn't what you get, and that's okay.

Not everyone is spiritual, but if you are then you probably believe things happen for a reason. It doesn't mean you think everything happens for a reason, but it could mean that you attribute your life circumstances to something you have to learn, a message from above, or a journey to begin. It's a beautiful way to think of things, that everything is meant for you, the good and the bad, and that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. It's a way to see things, a positive lens of meaning and purpose, opposed to thinking nihilistically that nothing means anything. But anyway, this woman lost her cat Nyx and swore she wouldn't just pick up another. Then her heart spoke louder than her head. She saw this tiny, striped cutie outside, meowing up a storm. She walked by, and made it about a block before turning back. Read the full story below.

22-year-old takes back the car she bought at 17-years-old after her dad secretly gives it to her stepbrother as a 'graduation gift': 'You embarrassed him. You gave away something you didn't own.'

An entitled dad decided to not only give something away that was not his, but he also decided to belittle his daughter while doing so. A two-for-one of entitlement!

34-year-old aunt asks sister to stop bringing her 4 and 6-year-old kids to apartment unannounced: 'You work from home, you're always there anyway'

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 12:00
What does an aunt have to do to get some peace and quiet around her apartment?

Life in a one-bedroom apartment is cramped, let me tell you. You've got to embrace minimalism and keep your belongings compact. You can fit one, maybe 2 people in there, but whenever friends or family members visit, it feels like a tight squeeze.

This Aunt is surprised that her sister keeps showing up to her 1-bedroom apartment with her young children! That's certainly not going to be entertaining for the kids for long — they're going to be bouncing off the walls within minutes. But this woman also doesn't know how to say "no" to her sister, which is making things pretty awkward.

Entitled landlord "Gary" keeps dropping in on tenant unannounced, tenant pursues legal action: 'Reasonable notice is legally defined as 24 hours minimum in writing'

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 11:00
Just because someone is technically your landlord does not mean they have the authority to drop in whenever they want, especially if it isn't an emergency!

This tenant was starting to become suspicious about his landlord's true motivations after the unexpected visits with little-to-no advanced notice became more and more frequent.

Disgruntled employees discuss the fallacy that is unlimited PTO: ‘It's only unlimited PTO on paper’

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:00
'Unlimited' PTO usually just means that your company doesn't want to pay out your unused days if you leave.

Entitled neighbor repeatedly scratches resident’s car by slamming his gate open onto it, resident collects evidence for a full report: ‘Time to set up a camera’

Fail Blog - Tue, 03/03/2026 - 09:00
Even though all houses have clear property lines, we all know that those lines get crossed a lot more often than one expects.

We're not just talking about neighbors attempting to encroach on their own property by going over these lines, hoping the residents won't notice, but about the more common, everyday ways residents must deal with, just like in the story below. People often forget that even if you position a fence or a gate to separate two properties, these can only do so much. So when a resident opens his gate, and this gate crosses over to a neighbor's property, it's pretty hard to make a stop to it.

Some of you might think, why should they put a stop to it? What could possibly happen if a neighbor's gate crosses over the property line from time to time?

Well, apparently, even a gate can cause a lot of damage if you're not paying enough attention. If the gate is positioned right next to where you park your car, for example, the simple action of opening the gate can cause it to slam against your car and result in serious damage to the vehicle. And no, we're not making it up, since this is exactly what is happening in the story below. Which is unfortunate, because not only is this resident's car getting scratched by their neighbor's gate, but the neighbor also refuses to do something about it. He will not even be mindful of how he opens the gate every morning; he simply claims that the scratches on the resident's car are not his fault.

It won't be difficult to prove that this entitled neighbor is responsible for the damage, or even to get payback. The question is, should the resident go through with it? Should they fight for their property and ensure that no one, not even a gate, crosses that line?
