'He was... gaming the system': Sneaky guest acts like a 'major jerk' until quick-thinking hotel employee gets pro revenge on him
This long-time hotel clerk was familiar with his employer's rules — and he got the chance to use them against one customer who was entitled and rude.
As u/Ancient_Ice shared to r/ProRevenge, he worked at a hotel franchise for some time. One day, he happened to come in for his shift and saw his coworkers were upset over the way a guest treated them. Surely guests can be demanding and harsh, but apparently this guest went above and beyond by screaming at the young employees. Since he'd been working there for some time, the OP managed to get a little bit of information on this rude guest, and used the hotel's rules to his own advantage. Turns out this guest actually worked at another hotel, and wasn't even following the rules set by his own employer.
Next, check out the surprising double update to this photographer's nightmare wedding, where she suddenly decided to delete every one of the pictures she'd snapped.
'She would always refer to her boyfriend as daddy': Girl gets kicked out of party after calling her BF 'Daddy' all night, internet reacts
It may be the age of the Daddy, but let's not overdo it in a party setting. It's one thing to make a joke out of it. It's quite another to thrust your private bedroom lingo onto everyone else in a very public setting. That's exactly what this woman learned the hard way at an acquaintance's party. That acquaintance shared her experience via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit.
Yes, we are living in an era where people are more open about relationships, and that change is mostly a positive one. That being said, some things are just not meant to be said publicly, and when everyone is clearly uncomfortable, maybe it's a good idea to take the hint and cool it for a bit. Instead, this woman doubled down and started an argument, which ultimately resulted in her and her boyfriend getting kicked out of the party altogether. Hey, it's the Redditor's party, so she gets to call all the shots. Keep scrolling below to see how people responded in the comments. 'Just don't go': Company plans picnic, expects employees to pay, internet responds to viral image
A frustrated worker shared this flier, inviting workers to a company picnic or, rather, a "lunch meal." All well and good—if it weren't for the fact that the company expected the employees to front the cost. The flier went viral when it was shared to a popular Reddit sub, bringing the employer under fire. Readers encouraged the original poster and their coworkers not to attend and derided the practice.
I'll be honest… I kind of like company gatherings. This comes from a guy who doesn't usually enjoy gatherings of any kind. There's something deeply satisfying about enjoying food and drinks that someone else is paying for while sitting in awkward silence with your coworkers who are probably reluctantly attending. What's this? The company's not paying?.. Yeah—in that case, you wouldn't catch me within 100 miles of the venue. If you want me to be a good "team player" and spend my own time with my coworkers… well, you'd better pay.
Have you ever faced anything like this? Has your company ever expected you to pay? Let us know in the comments.
Sun's Out, Tongue's Out: 30 Derpy Cats Caught In The Hilarious Act Of Blepping
Hai there, I Can Has-ers, we're back with another episode of "Is my cat okay or are they malfunctioning?". These curious kitties were having a personal moment, and you better believe we were ready with our cameras to catch any silly activities. What did we find? We found some bleps, and we love all of them. Who knows why our cats do this weird thing with their tongues, but we love it.
Maybe they were mid-cleaning, maybe they tasted something gross, or maybe they just malfunctioned, but all of these bleps are cute as heck and we wish they would do it more. It usually comes with the derpiest of faces, which is like an added bonus, but it's the little tongues that really seal the deal. Sometimes it's barely out, other times it's on full display, but either way we love this little feature. Here's to more bleps in 2023!
Double update! Nightmare groom ruins two separate wedding photo shoots, furious photographer deletes photos
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes: at this wedding, there's no going back from the groom's big mistake.
Told from the photographer's point of view, this wedding sounds like a nightmare from the moment it began. The OP, u/Icy-Reserve6995, posted a three part story. She writes that although she works as a dog photographer, she offered to photograph her friend's wedding for super cheap. She showed up before the ceremony to shoot for hours, working from 11AM until 7:30PM.
However, these were no ordinary working conditions. With no contract to protect her, the OP wasn't allowed to sit down, eat, or take a break! The venue was sweltering, and she was even denied water. Naturally, after spending a full day shooting a wedding, the OP was at her breaking point when she was denied these basic necessities. The groom simply wouldn't allow her to have a drink or a break! She asked the groom if he really wanted her to leave without pay, and he said yes. Well, this photographer called his bluff.
Crazy enough though, is this isn't even the end of the story. The OP ended up doing a second photo shoot for her friend and the nightmare groom. Read the entire story below, then click here to read about one Karen who made a teen girl cry after feeling entitled to "parent her."

‘Fine, We’ll Do It Your Way’ : Waitress Maliciously Complies With Know It All Coworker, Resulting in Pandemonium
Coworkers tend to fall between three categories — A. The 'know it all', B. The 'think's they know it all', and C. The 'don't know nothing's'. This employee was sure he was a part of Exhibit A when actually he fell poorly into category B. Not the practical type, he wanted to make everyone's life a lot more difficult, including the customer's. All for the sake of being right… which he wasn't, at all.
The waitress who had joined him on shift realized quickly there was no point in arguing with him, and instead, did what she had to do — AKA, maliciously complied. Luckily for her, her malicious compliance panned out, and all hell broke loose. Adopting the attitude of, 'Fine, we'll do it your way' got her exactly what she wanted — petty revenge and quick karma. That's what you get when you create a toxic work environment, my dude. At least she didn't have to deal with crabby customers who are under the impression that 'the customer is always right'. That would have been tiresome.
Scroll down to read a detailed account of the hilarious event, as told by u/danversantiago. For more, check out this employee who was fired for messing with the wrong coworker.

'Her business is doomed': Boss is dumbfounded when worker quits to work for themselves following pay cut
When your business is essentially employing people who could be easily contracting for themselves (without the need for your siphoning off their earnings), it's probably best to treat them with a bit of respect. This goes doubly if they're your best performer and highest earner. Sure, by employing them, you're providing them the security they might not otherwise have, but as soon as that security is compromised, they will start questioning their situation.
Sometimes reducing wages may be a necessity in times of financial hardship, but then you need to take a look at the viability of your business. If you can't afford to pay your workers a fair wage… do you deserve to be in business at all? Does your business deserve to survive? There's so much love amongst business owners for the "free market" when times are good. Still, as soon as things get financially tough, they're happy for the government to get involved and give them the same handouts they deride workers for taking, making every excuse under the sun as long as it is to their benefit. Even if that handout is for the expressed purpose of paying employees, they'll probably still cut wages and pocket the difference.
Take my cynical view with a grain of salt, but it's very much something that happens.
This worker shared their story to Reddit's popular r/antiwork workplace community; if you've been here for a while, you'll already be aware that this community often discusses workplace and employment problems, sharing stories and sparking discussion about employers' actions. The worker explained that a recent pay cut had prompted them to leave their business and work for themselves, shocking their boss. Readers congratulated the "new business owner" and chided the boss for the pay cuts.

'The sheer audacity': Company rejects interview candidate, then reaches out for unpaid help months later
There are so many red flags in this story that we lost count. Let's start with the fact that it's one thing for a company to reach out to a former employee for help or advice. However, it's another to reach out to someone they never hired - in fact, someone they fully rejected. And for unpaid advice nonetheless! The 'sheer audacity' is right!
This thread, which was posted to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit by u/Lumberjvvck, serves as yet another example of how many employers these days have no shame when it comes to ethics and boundaries. We haven't even addressed the fact that the Redditor is pretty certain that the person who reached out was the person who received the job offer. How did HR just blindly give away the Redditor's contact information? As we said earlier, there are too many red flags going on here. What's even more upsetting is that if you scroll through the comments below, it's remarkable how unremarkable this phenomenon is. Virtually everyone who commented had been through a similar experience. This company should learn to develop some class.

22 Purrfect Videos That Prove Orange and Ginger Cats Share One Communal Braincell
If you're a cat person, then you can appreciate a doofy cat moment. It's adorable, but most of the time your sweet little feline friend is a regal creature that's picturesque and runs the household. However, if you are an orange/ginger cat parent… Well, things are a little different. Why is it that orange cats are most commonly the most chaotic of all the house cat breeds?? It is probably because they all share one braincell and they have to take turns using it… Every single orange cat in the world. Listen, there is no science behind this, heck this isn't even a theory. It is just a simple common sense deduction that all and anybody who has owned or lived with an orange cat has come to. It makes perfect sense if you know.
If you don't believe us, then we have 22 of the most purrfect videos that will prove to you just how much of a special brand of chaos ginger cats are. Is this like a "blondes have more fun" thing? Wholesome Feline Memes for Hooman Cat Lovers Who Need a Mid Week Pick Me Up
It's pretty rare that a house cat will show affection to their owner, but when they do, it's simply magical. It seems like every street cat in the world is happy to run up to a hooman, begging for pets, treats, and maybe a home to go back to, but our house cats are built different. It's like they're so spoiled that they don't realize very often how much they love and appreciate their hooman, except for brief glimpses of affection in the form of hopping up in their owner's lap, kneading the blankets beside you, and meowing at you from outside the bathroom door in the middle of the night. How dare you lock them out! It's your cats duty to monitor your nightly activities in the restroom, it's the law. At least you know they love you.

Reddit Review 'AITA': Man Kicks Out Fiancée's "Troubled Teen" Sister From Their Home After She Purposefully Destroys Two of His Lego Sculptures
When you ask someone to marry them, you are also asking to be 100% part of their life. That means through the ups AND the downs. But sometimes those downs could be more than you bargained for. For instant, a man on Reddit recently shared that his fiancée's sister moved in with them and she is what he calls a "bad kid." She is your textbook troubled youth, getting in trouble at school, stealing, and doing many other things she shouldn't.
She recently got in a fight with another kid and was escorted home by the police. The fiancée aka the older sister did nothing about it and even took her side. The fiancé was upset, but still let it lie. However, when he woke up in the morning, he saw that the younger sister destroyed all of his Lego sculptures he had been working diligently on for months. They were all scattered in pieces across the floor. So naturally, he blew up at the "troubled teen" and told her if she didn't start acting better, he was going to kick her out of their home. The fiancée/older sister took her younger sister side and said that he was being an a hole. Now, he doesn't know what to do—he isn't sure if he truly was being hardheaded and mean or if this younger sister truly needs some consequences for her actions. Because of this, he is not even sure what to do about the engagement.
