TikToker @haitangtravel is showing off the beautiful doors that traveling with his pet cat has opened for him. The cat's name is Haitang and he travels everywhere with his human. His human, a young Chinese man, is exploring beautiful places all over the world. Some might look at him and think he is a solo traveler, but you would be wrong. His cat Haitang actually goes everywhere with him. He perches on his shoulder and walks around every town with his human and eats at every restaurant with him. He has a harness, and his human keeps a backpack that has all of Haitang's needs and is a place for him to retreat to if he needs. 

They have been to places like Turkey, Norway, France, and many other breathtaking destinations that every travel enthusiast has dreamt of. One video has Haitang and his human in Uzbekistan, a well-known cat-friendly city. Though there is a thick language barrier between Chinese/English and Uzbek/Russian (and, of course, cat meows), humanity still finds a way to connect. The most wholesome interactions blossom throughout the video, all because everybody loves cats.

There's something magical about a cozy cat. Not just any cat, a cat that's reached peak coziness. The kind that's curled into a perfect cinnamon roll on a fuzzy blanket, paws tucked safely underneath, completely unbothered by the outside world. You look at them for five seconds, and suddenly your shoulders drop about three inches. That's purr therapy!

Cats have somehow mastered the art of relaxing in a way humans can only dream of. They don't simply take a nap; they commit to it. They'll find the one warm patch of sunlight that's been creeping across the living room floor all afternoon and act like they personally reserved it. By the time the sunbeam moves, so do they. It's a full-time job, and they take it very seriously. And what would our cats do without their dear cozy blankets? Oh, the blankets. Soft, warm, wrapped like a burrito, fresh out of the oven. 

A cat can have an entire house to explore, complete with climbing trees, fancy beds, and expensive toys, but the second you pull a soft blanket out of the dryer, they appear out of nowhere. It's as if they have a built-in Cozy Radar™ that activates whenever something reaches maximum fluffiness. And don't even get me started on biscuits. Watching a kitty knead a blanket with those tiny paws is enough to melt even the grumpiest human. It's impossible not to smile. Sure, your favorite hoodie now has approximately seven million little claw holes in it, but that's just the price you pay for handcrafted biscuits made with love. 

Every cozy cat also has a signature pose. Some become tiny shrimp. Others stretch out as if they've just signed a lease on your entire couch. Then there are the fearless belly-up sleepers; the ones who trust their humans enough to expose the floofiest part of themselves while they snooze away without a care in the world. That's a compliment of the highest order.

So if today feels a little too busy, too loud, or simply too people-y, allow these cozy kitties to remind you that sometimes the best plan is the simplest one: find a soft place to land, take a well-earned catnap, and let yourself exist for a while.

Some cats choose their person, but some people choose their cats - and it's a purrfect match.

I didn't choose my own cat, per se. Obviously, I adopted her; she's my soul cat, and I'm her person. And even if I was the one to come to the foster who saved her and the wee age of 1 month from abandonment in the streets, and eventually took her home with me - I didn't so much choose her for who she was as a cat. She was a sickly and abandoned kitten, and I was searching to adopt a cat - and this all happened at the same time.

That's not the case of u/ThrowRAexhaustod, who actively chose the most unbothered kitten in the shelter. She chose this floofy orange boy because of his aloof-yet-loving demeanor on purpose. She knew what she was searching for - a hiking buddy, a fellow adventurer, a quest goer. A cat who won't need too much convincing to go explore the great outdoors. And she found the right match for her.

You know, I wish I'd also have an adventuring cat like that. I love hiking, I love taking walks, but my cat is a bit skittish. She is more-or-less leash trained (if you want to learn how to leash-train your cat, go to this cat leash walking guide), but she's far from being "trained" to venture far and explore. She's a leash-walker to the building next door, to the parking garage, and to the stone fence of our building. She never reached the park across the road. I take my hikes without her and make a point to bring her a leaf to play with (she loves them).

But there's something special about choosing your own feline fella for adventure-taking. It's like stating you didn't even need the help of the Cat Distribution System, and went and did all that by yourself. And even did it in an "adopt, don't shop" way. This woman really does deserve praise for her plan, execution, and wholesome adventures she takes her cat on. What a delight to witness. I'm low-key jealous, but mostly happy to see it working out for both of them.

You need the sillies; cats have those.

Hey there, fellow crazy cat people, we hope your day is as filled with cats as our days here. Having a day full of cats is the baseline of happiness for every cat person out there, and we're not different from the rest of you. We also benefit from being surrounded by cat vibes, cat energy, and literal cats. As cat people, we know that cats are the source of joy every person needs. People who are indifferent to cats, or worse, hate cats, have no idea what happiness they're missing. Besides, they're wrong. Everyone should adore cats, and that's a fact.

The best way to experience this is to literally surround yourself with cats. Crazy cat ladies are experts when it comes to this, but it's not an art reserved for them alone. You can lie down outside on the pavement and pspsps, the rest will work itself out. You'll be surrounded by sweet stray cats in no time. Or you can be as crazy as we are and just adopt a bunch of office cats. This way you'll have both your cats at home and the ones at work. They nap on keyboards, knock down pens, and barricade the boss's office. Great little guys.

But if you can't surround yourself with an actual cat colony, it's time to go digital. The internet is filled to the brim with cat content, because cats rule the internet just as much as they rule our homes. All you have to do is make sure you have an internet connection (which you have, if you read these very lines), a device to look at online cat content with (which, again, you must have if you're already here), and just enjoy the digital reign of cats. It's full of feline funnies and wholesome whimsy, and we're all here for it.

When a cat chooses its human, the human has no choice but to oblige. That is the law of the world. 

As we have said many times before, cats adopt their humans. You may think that when you go into a shelter, wanting to adopt, that it will be your choice which feline goes home with you, but little do you know that the cats in there are actually assessing you and deciding whether you are worthy or not. And cats make all kinds of unexpected choices. Cats choose people who hate cats and have never wanted cats, and then turn them into the greatest cat lovers. Cats choose people who are allergic to cats and essentially force them either to deal with the sneezing or to undergo medical procedures to deal with it. Once a cat chooses you, you have zero choice in the matter. That is just how things are and how they have always been. 

You can try to fight it, and the people who posted their story on r/aww really did try. They had good reasons not to take a cat in, and it wasn't like the cat was in desperate need of a home. The family feeds the whole colony, making sure that they are healthy and have warm beds. They just never planned on taking one into their home. But like we said, it wasn't their choice at all. Once this ginger chose them, their fate was sealed. And maybe it took him a while to convince them, but that didn't matter. He was not going to give up until he was home safe and spoiled by his new family for the rest of his life. It was written in the stars. It just took these humans a little while to finally read the message. 

You would think that finding the owners of a lost cat would be a good thing…

One of every cat owner's worst nightmares is their cat running away. I will never forget the time it happened with my cat. She was gone for 24 hours after falling out of the first-floor window before coming back to me. And those 24 hours were the worst 24 hours of my life. I thought the worst. I bawled my eyes out. I thought she was gone for good. And then she came back to me, and I will never forget carrying her dirty and hungry little self back home. Reuniting with my cat was the greatest feeling. I couldn't even describe the relief, the gratitude, the pure joy that I felt. A nightmare was suddenly over. And I always imagined that every cat owner who lost their cat in a similar way would feel the same way. But apparently not. 

We have said it before, but it deserves repeating: some people do not deserve cats. If you feel anything other than dread and terror when your cat disappears, then you might be one of them. When I found today's story on r/cats, I was simply shocked reading it. If I had been in this rescuer's position, finally finding the owners of this lost cat, I would have been overjoyed too. Awaiting the reunion, wanting to see that relief and gratitude and joy on the faces of the cat owners - that's all I would have been doing. And then to get there, to tell them that I found their cat, and to hear that not only did they not care that their cat was lost but that they were trying to get rid of it… Hearing that would have crushed my faith in humanity entirely. Oh, and I would have done the same thing they did. I would have adopted the cat. 

How cool does your cat think you are?

Well, have you ever shared memes with them? Because that is cool cat behavior. A cat doesn't have to try to be cool, they just are. Even the really squirrely ones who bounce off the walls when you sneeze. It's just that easy for them. There is a reason we say, "cool cats" and not any other animal. They have the swag and the cuteness. They know they're cute, fluffy, and adorable, but they also know that they are worshipped and feared. It's true, just as the Egyptians! 

Back then, humans made giant sculptures of cats with tons of offerings at their feet. They're our little majestic guys. Nowadays, we don't really make big statues that we bow down to, but we still worship them in different ways. We buy them all kinds of beds and toys, even though they tend to sleep on your laptop and love to play with a straw wrapper. And we make memes about them. 

Oh boy, is the internet meant for cat memes! It's the only thing keeping this scary world wide web from getting too dark. Cats are our lifeline online! If it wasn't for their chillness, nobody would ever be a cool cat! So let's worship them in the best way we know how to these days, with these memes. And heck, share them with your cool cat while you straight up chill with them.

If you are or have ever been a cat owner, then there is one thing that you know for a fact, and that is that cats have so, so much purrsonality. There are so many things about each and every one of them that make them unique. For example, like many others, my cat loves to sit in the sink, especially in the hot summer. But unlike other cats, my cat has an issue with getting off the sink. It's not that she can't. It's that she chooses not to. I have made the mistake of coming to her aid and helping her come down one too many times, and now, I can safely say that my cat has trained me successfully, and instead of coming down on her own, she sits on the sink and screams until I pick her royal bootie up and place her down. 

Every cat is like this. Every cat has something about it that makes it special. Some cats like to eat non-cat foods and will shamelessly steal that specific food off your plate the second that you are not looking. Other cats have emotional support items, and their day is completely ruined if they cannot reach that item in their desired time frame. And those are just a couple of examples. There is something unique about every cat's purrsonality, and the one way that we can capture these special traits in the most purrfect way is with cat memes, of course. Like cats, cat memes are full of purrsonality and cattitude, and they bring us so much happiness and moments of wholesomeness and joy. Live, life, love… and cats. 

Life has a funny way of challenging us. Just when things seem purrfect it could all come to a screeching halt. Just when you think you finally unlocked life's difficulties, and can appropriately tackle anything that comes your way, it's then that something so enormously unexpected drops itself into your lap isn't it? It's easy to become engrossed in your own struggles, especially when it seems like they just keep piling up. From work stress, relationship instability, or your cat meowing up a storm at 4 am for breakfast, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the consistency of life events. Sometimes, we just want a break and an escape from it all. Cat memes are always there to help us focus on what's important, to not dwell on things we can't control, and to appreciate the things we do have. 

A smile goes a long way, so why not start today and get some giggles out before you can't? Cats are a great reminder to smile because they're just so innocent and cute. Fate works in mysterious ways, but all we know is that fate works hand in hand with the cat distribution system. 

As they say, when one door closes, the other opens. You don't have to believe in fate itself to notice the signs of a miracle, or the strangeness of timing that gives meaning to the universe in all its chaos. Souls can replace each other; sometimes it can feel like there's a balance and flow that the universe stays in. Where things can't be too good, but they can't be too bad. In Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, the system works hand in hand with fate for a couple that needed a cat but didn't know it. This couple lost their 18 year old soul cat, Tuffy just recently. It was sudden and horrible, but as life would have it their grieving wouldn't last long before it was replaced by something new and loving. In just three months time, they miraculously found another cat. They thought they would wait to bring home another pet but then they saw this little void cat outside while bailing out their dog. What struck them was her eyes, she had the same eyes and a white spot in the same place as their cat Tuffy. Then, to further their surprise, when they let her outside they saw that she also likes to play fetch. 

It was then that they knew they couldn't leave her, and everyone loves her so far. Though no one will fully replace Tuffy, they at least got to have another new cat to distract them, and even make them contemplate life in all its big mysteries. Have a mystery that needs solving?

Who needs Sherlock Holmes when cats are already on the case? Armed with twitchy whiskers, laser-focused stares, and an unhealthy amount of curiosity, these feline detectives are determined to investigate every suspicious sound, mysterious box, and treat that vanished without a trace. The verdict? They're adorable, even if they're investigating absolutely nothing.

The Cat Distribution System works in many mysterious ways that defy feline behavioral guidelines, but the story that we have today strays further from the guides of the feline handbook than we have ever seen. Showing a whole new side ot cats we had assumed did not exist.

Reddit's r/CATHELP subreddit is usually a place for pawrents to scream out their frustrations about raising a feline and seek help and advice to make the experience more manageable. After all, anyone who has been kept awake three nights in a row with kittens running zoomies over their face is going to be a little bit crabby. But the story we found today is quite the departure from the norm as it tells the tail of a tiny kitten who was gifted to a hooman by the kitten's father. An absolute rarity in the cat community as cat dads hardly ever find themselves in the picture when their litter is born. Let alone taking responsibility for finding the runt of the litter a suitable home to live in.

But that is exactly what this outstanding feline father did, stepping up to take on a task that most hoomans shy away from. But he knew he had to do right by his son and ensure that despite his smaller stature and strength, that he would live a life of laughter and love. Which is exactly what this kitten got when he was added to our rescuer's fur family, gaining two canine siblings and a robot floor cleaner to play with. But perhaps the most heartwarming part of this story is the fact that even though his dad gave him up, he still stopped by every single day to check on his long lost son. 
 

Putting your cat kid in a carrier is one of the hardest things you can possibly do as a pawrent. But between vet visits, holidays and more, there are more than a few times a year that we need to carry our cats. So I hope this collection of creative ideas will help you convince your cat to climb into their carrier.

On Reddit's r/NoStupidQuestions subreddit there are indeed a lot of questions that could have been answered with a little commonsense, but that is the whole point of the forum. Though I do not believe that the question we are answering with this list a stupid question at all. If anything it is incredibly smart for each and everytime we have to bring out the carrier and watch our cat kids lose their minds it breaks our hearts all over again. I myself cannot say how many times I have spent upwards of an hour chasing after my wriggling cat trying to corral him into his carrier.

But by the end of this list I hope that both you and I will find some suggestions that not only suit our lifestyle but also our cat's. As with anything there is no one size fits all cats rule, so how you end up doing things is down to you guys. I just wish for you to not end up full of scratches with a cat who refuses to leave his hiding spot under the bed. 
 

Every great cat kingdom starts with a cardboard box.

Every cat deserves a castle, and judging by the internet, plenty of devoted pawrents have accepted the challenge. It usually starts with one empty cardboard box that was supposed to be recycled. Then another gets added for a second room. Before long, there's a tunnel connecting everything together, a lookout tower overlooking the living room, and a cardboard kingdom that's somehow become the nicest piece of furniture in the house.

Some of these castles are seriously impressive. Multi-story forts with little windows, winding hallways, tiny doors, and secret passageways make them look like they came straight out of a fairy tale. A few even have painted bricks, flags flying from the towers, and hand-drawn signs welcoming the royal residents home. Meanwhile, the cats stroll inside like they commissioned the entire project themselves.

Every new addition has to pass a thorough inspection. The walls get claw-tested. The corners get chewed. Every tunnel gets sprinted through at maximum zoomie speed before the castle earns the royal stamp of approval. If it survives all that, it's officially fit for feline royalty.

The rulers waste no time making themselves comfortable. One claims the tallest tower for afternoon loafing. Another guards the front entrance from imaginary intruders. Some spend hours peeking through tiny windows, keeping a close eye on the kingdom beyond the castle walls. Others simply curl up in the biggest room and nap like royalty after a long day of supervising construction.

These cardboard castles is that they're built with nothing more than a little creativity, a stack of empty boxes, and humans who know exactly what makes their cats happy. Fancy cat trees are nice, but a handmade cardboard kingdom built by someone who loves them will always be fit for a king or meownarch.

That work email can wait another five meowments.

There are only two kinds of people at work: the ones who answer emails the second they come in, and the ones who read them, panic a little, close the inbox, and decide they'll deal with it after one quick break. Then another email comes in. And another. Before long, the inbox starts looking like it has kittens of its own, multiplying every time it's refreshed.

If cats had work email, nothing would ever get done. Every message would be answered with "Sent from my cardboard box." Meetings would be rescheduled because of an unexpected nap. Anything marked "urgent" would be acknowledged with a slow blink before getting ignored for the next six hours. Someone would hit "Reply All" just to ask where the treats are, and an orange cat would somehow delete the entire company calendar without meaning to.

Cats would be terrible coworkers. Every email would get marked as "I'll deal with this after my nap," and every meeting invitation would be declined in favor of staring out the window at a bird. Purrductivity would plummet, but morale would probably be through the roof.

Work emails have a way of convincing people everything needs an immediate response. Cats would strongly disagree. Some things deserve attention right away. An empty food bowl, for example. Karen asking for a "quick update" at 4:58 p.m.? That can wait until after another nap.

Now go ahead and ignore that inbox for just a few more meowments. Nobody has ever regretted looking at cats before answering an email.

Why do sleeping cats always look more relaxed than we ever will?

I don't know how cats do it. Every time I see a sleeping cat, I immediately become aware of how tired I am. It doesn't matter if I just woke up after eight hours of sleep. If a cat is curled up in a sunbeam with its little paws tucked under its face, suddenly I feel like I haven't rested properly in years.

Cats have a special talent for making relaxation look effortless. They don't schedule it. They don't optimize it. They don't watch productivity videos about it. They simply find a comfortable spot and commit to doing absolutely nothing for the next several hours. Honestly, that's a level of confidence I can only admire.

My favorite thing about sleeping cats is how creative they get with their positions. Sometimes they look perfectly normal, curled up into a tiny furry cinnamon roll. Other times they're stretched across a couch at an angle that seems physically impossible. You'll see a cat sleeping with one paw in the air, half of its body hanging off the edge of a chair, and somehow it still looks completely comfortable.

I also love how contagious cat naps are. You can be having a perfectly productive day, crossing things off your to-do list, feeling accomplished, and then you spot a sleeping cat. Suddenly your couch starts looking a lot more inviting. The blanket you've ignored all morning begins calling your name. Your responsibilities can probably wait another twenty minutes, right?

Maybe that's why people love pictures of sleeping cats so much. They're peaceful, cozy, and completely unbothered by the chaos happening around them. In a world where everyone seems busy all the time, a sleeping cat is a tiny reminder that sometimes it's okay to slow down, get comfortable, and enjoy a well-deserved nap.

Whoever said that cats are not affectionate pets has never met a cat in their life.

As an I Can Has Cheezburger writer, it was practically part of the job description to own a furry feline of my own. I am lucky to have two - beautiful Coco and silly Awesome, and both silly cats are the most loving and affectionate creatures I have ever met in my entire life.

Not only are they loving, but they are also incredibly cuddly. They love pets, kisses, and hugs, and basically act offended whenever I'm around them and do not give them my full attention. In fact, as I am writing this, Awesome is currently sprawled in front of my laptop and making my job a lot more difficult than it should be. My keyboard is covered in orange cat hair, my nose is itchy, and I am forced to write with one hand because the other must be petting him (if I try to stop, he bites me in the elbow in protest.)

I love that orange fur ball more than anything in the world.

Every time I sit down to work and he follows and demands attention, I am filled with wonder at how anyone can say that cats are not affectionate pets. Who was it that decided to spread this blatant misinformation, and what did cats ever do to them? There is not a distant bone in my cat's body, and it's not even just towards me. Anyone who comes to visit is met with demands for cuddles and cat kisses. Even the repair guy who came to fix our AC last week had to sit down and pet both Awesome and Coco before he was even allowed to do his job.

I admit, sometimes it's annoying that it takes me twice as long to work whenever the cats are around, but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. They give me the most pawdorable peace and make every day so much better, just like the hissterical cat memes below.

Not listening to your vet is a choice that you, like any parent, sometimes have to make. 

Vets and pediatricians have more in common than you probably realize. Because cats and babies are quite similar as patients. Neither one can talk. Neither one can say exactly what's wrong. And the doctors have to rely on you, the pawrent, to explain. Vets know cats. Pediatricians know babies. But neither one knows your baby. And as the new wife of a med student, I can relay to you that one of the things they teach doctors is to listen to the parents. Parents know their babies in a way that doctors don't. 

The same is true for cats. I knew when my kitty started puking more often that it was because she was drinking too much water, and that the drinking was a psychological thing because she's chonky, is on a diet, and is trying to fill her belly with whatever she can. I knew it. In my gut. Because I know my baby. It took multiple tests, multiple opinions, and a whole lot of dreaded vet visits for the vets to come to the same conclusion. Of course, I listened to them, I took her to all the tests, but I have to say… if their conclusion was different than mine, I don't know how I would have reacted to the treatments they prescribed. 

We want to believe that all vets want the best for our cats, but that doesn't always mean that we have to listen to their advice. Especially if their advice is to give up. On r/CatDistributionSystem, a user recounted their story of how a vet told them to give up on the kitten that they rescued because it didn't have a mom. And how it made them angry. Because that is not a good enough reason to give up on a kitten's life. 

Every cat's life, no matter how short, should be filled with endless love and warmth.

Not every cat is as "easy" or "low maintenance" as you expect it to be. My cat, for example, has a puking problem. She drinks too much water, and a couple of minutes later, that water comes right back out. Don't worry, she's been to the vet more than enough for this, and we have come to the conclusion that this is… a mental thing, not a medical issue. So, now I live my life regulating her water intake and worrying that someday, it might change into an actual medical thing. And that is just my regular cat who is otherwise completely healthy. There are stories with much more "difficult" cats. 

Cats can be born blind, and that comes with a whole host of challenges for the owners. Cats sometimes require medical amputation, and then they become adorable tripod cats, and that's not always easy. And of course, cats, just like humans, can be born with all kinds of medical issues, common and rare. That's where Grub's story comes in. 

Of course, just because a cat is a little less "easy", that doesn't mean that you should give up on them. That doesn't mean that you should abandon that cat. Heck, sick kitties need us more than any others. They need our help, they need our kindness, they need our love. More often than not, these cats seek it out. Love is what they want more than anything. 

Grub was still just a baby when he was surrendered to the shelter, having had his previous family give up on him. And it's true that his life and his diagnosis are not easy ones, but all that he wants is love. In the shelter, he wasn't just sick, he was also alone. And loneliness - that ache in your heart - only makes things worse. When he was finally adopted and showed the love that he needed, his personality shone through, and he started actually enjoying living his life, playing, running, cuddling and purring - with the diagnosis and all. 

Some new cat introductions are difficult - but not this one.

Road trips are the most underrated form of vacation. You can literally go anywhere. Just pack everything you need, even take your pets with you, and start driving. You really get to see the true heart of America while stopping in the middle of a 14-hour stretch of driving - the quaint little towns and all the historic landmarks that are unique to each location. I once moved across the country, from Washington D.C., to Portland, Oregon, and I drove with my best friend in the passenger seat and my cat in the backseat. It was probably the most fun 3 weeks of my early 20s.

There are downsides to road trips, of course. They're a lot of work, and finding food that isn't fast food isn't always available. It means that you'll end up stopping at a lot of McDonald's, but for the dog-loving couple in Reddit's r/CatswithDogs subreddit, this pit stop turned out to be a lot more than a potty break. A tiny calico kitten started following them while stopping for a snack, and the kitten immediately became smitten with their two dogs. 

We can safely say by the awwdorable pictures below that the feeling was mutual. The three heartwarming babies immediately started snuggling together, and their pawrents knew that it was meant to be. 

Introducing a new cat to a household can be tricky. Cats are typically very wary of new locations, especially environments with other animals. It can take weeks, even months, for them to finally feel comfortable… but not this kitten. It didn't feel like they adopted her, it felt like she was coming home.
