Friday has arrived, and honestly, we think that deserves a little celebration. The week has been long, the weekend is finally within paw's reach, and there is only one thing left to do before we fully embrace Caturday is finish Friday strong. Luckily, we have some purrfect cat memes on hand. And that is all that we really need. We're simple people with simple needs, and cute cats fill nearly all of them. 

Starting our day with silly cat memes is like giving ourselves a fluffy little boost of happiness. They are wholesome, they are heartwarming, and really, they can put a smile on even the sleepiest Friday face. Trust us, we've tried these memes on ourselves first. That is a question that we think every cat owner has asked themselves. Cats sleeping many hours a day is normal. They love cuddling under blankets and lying on every soft surface that they can find. But is there such a thing as too much sleep for a cat? Well… yes. Cats can get bored. Even these most dedicated nappers need stimulation. When their environment doesn't offer enough opportunities to play and explore, hunt and interact, then they get bored. And although they can't tell us when that happens, they do have ways of letting us know.

Since the passing of Dolly Parton, cowboys, country, and the rustic, rural farm life is making a comeback. And that's why at I Can Has Cheezburger we're making a comeback of cowboy cats to remind you of the good ol' days. Rural nature, just your pony and you, simpler times where the sunset and sunrise dictated your day, where you couldn't endlessly scroll, and where you might even put a tiny cowboy hat on your cat. She made the right decision. 

When the universe shows you not once, but twice the same cat back to back, you know it's a sign. The cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. This woman had never had a pet of her own before, she grew up with dogs and back in college she bonded with her roommate's cat. This instilled in her a desire to have a cat one day, and that day came. Suddenly he appeared on her doorstep one day. She was leaving for work, but there was a sweet little guy who was affectionate, playful, and sweet. There was no collar, and all day her mind kept going back to the cat. The next day, she's sitting in her bed staring out the window, when she sees something darting outside. And it's him! What are the chances? So she immediately goes outside to get him. She interprets this as a sign from the universe that she should save him. It's December and cold out, there's no reason a cat should be all alone outside. 

She kept him in a friend's bathroom for a few days since her roommate wouldn't let her take him home. She posted on Facebook to make sure he didn't belong to anyone, but sure enough someone responded. They said he was theirs but that they couldn't take care of him. She decided to name him Bitty, and that he was hers. But the caveat remains: where can he live until she moves out? She still had a few months to go, but her mom swoops in to save the day. She was hesitant at first, but eventually she decided that she'd help her daughter and take care of the cat in the meantime. So even though it wasn't an easy journey, she ended up with this cute kitty and she couldn't be happier. 

Neglected cats are sadly not an uncommon thing to hear about. Whether it be the case of an abandoned indoor cat who cannot care for themselves properly in the wild, or the case of a house catto whose pawrents aren't giving it the care it deserves as in this story. The results are the same, a truly sad and sour catto. But lucky for the feline in the tale, the universe created an opportunity for a feline fanatic to turn this cat's life upside down.

This story comes to us thanks to the efforts of two separate redditors, u/stunclock and u/Opposite_Tomorrow733 of Washington DC. The former being the family member who stepped in when they saw that their aunt's cat had been cared for poorly and decided that it was time to relieve his ageing aunty from the responsibility of caring for herself as well as the cat, and find the senior feline a loving home that could keep up with his various changing needs as he got older. The latter redditor is the kind cat loving hooman who fulfilled all of u/stunclock's criteria when looking for a new cat pawrent and even went to the lengths of sharing an update about how the feline was settling into his new home.

It is a tale that goes to show the amount of good that can be done to a cat's life if we come together as a community. If we say it is better to share our problems than to hold their weight alone. It is testament to the good that hoomankind is capable of carrying out.
 

A meow from under a car made a woman stop and look. Hidden there was a tiny orange cat, peering out from the narrow space as a kind hand reached toward him, but he felt too scared to trust people.

Getting close required patience. The kitten was unsure about the stranger trying to help him. Eventually, they brought the animal out of its hiding place, put it in a bag, and took it home. The hard ground of the open street was now replaced by blankets, food, and a warm bath. The story moves forward, showing that the rescue wasn't temporary. The woman adopted the kitten. The kitten grows, and his place within the family becomes clear. One of the most moving moments of the story comes, in fact, when the cat hugs the woman's son by placing a paw on his face. The kid smiles gently, showing a sweet moment between them.

Finding a home for a stray kitten only happens when a person decides to stop and listen. After all, the kitten was scared and alone. He couldn't have known what the reaching hand meant when he first saw it. Now, he found a room to grow, a loving family, and a child who adores him as his best friend. How lucky! The cat distribution system always finds its way to unite the cats with the family they were meant to be part of. The woman gave him safety, and her son gave him a companion who would grow beside him. The animal that once associated people with uncertainty now feels safe enough to receive and give affection. His world clearly became softer when accepting the hand that offered him food and comfort. His days are now filled with playtime and warmth. He found a place he could call home because it is where he belongs. The orange cat can finally trust people. 

Nothing says Friday quite like tiny paws, cozy cuddles, and a whole lot of feline love!

I'm convinced that the happy feeling we have on Fridays is the same happy feeling we have when we see any cat. I'm not sure where the logic lies, but I'm not correct? I don't own a cat - or a cat doesn't own me, to be honest - but, I have a lot of friends who are cat moms, and whenever I go to their houses to visit them, the only thing I can focus on is the cat! I don't know what it is about them, but they are so compelling, and I love to be around them. If they love to be around me, you ask? Well… imagine me being so frenetic about the pet… of course, they hate it when I go visit.

But that's beside the point… and it's even embarrassing that I just revealed that to you…

When Friday is arriving, I can feel that same excitement going through my body. The weekend is coming; I'm already making plans, and I'm so ready for the week to be over. It's the same thing when I see those beautiful cats: I'm ready to spend a lot of time with them until my friends kick me out because I'm scaring their pets! Same thing!

I will say, though, that cats often create another type of feeling inside myself. A feeling that is not that related to Friday, but goes in the same direction. Sometimes, when I see a cat, all I want to do is get my fuzzy socks out, grab a blanket, and just chill in the coziest way possible. Cats also generate that feeling, and that one is far more approved by them, cause I'm more relaxed. And I think that is because of their fur and how cute and cozy they can be when they are tired. They just want to cuddle with you and fall asleep until who knows when… that might be the most heartwarming and wholesome feeling in the world: to cuddle with your cat until Monday comes around…

Does your cat end up all tangled up in weird positions as well? 

Mine does, and apparently so do a lot of other people's cats too! It's not weird to see them sitting or napping in the most uncomfortable places. We just stand there, baffled, thinking: "how did it get there?" "Is that even comfortable?" "How does it reach those angles?" Now, why do they do that? We have no idea. Maybe they just get bored of their own bodies and want to spice things up a bit and try to see how much they can stretch, twist, and tangle. In the meantime, us hoomans just stand here, being unable to touch our own toes. There's no flexibility here; our cats took all that was available. We're just worried that they might hurt themselves at some point, but that hasn't happened yet, so we can't get paranoid. Besides, they always fall on their feet. That's got to count for something. 

Cats seem to behave like liquids sometimes. They forget they have bones and muscles and just act like they are made of little more than Jell-O. They manage to fit into places they definitely shouldn't fit, and it's both scary and amazing. We sure would take advantage of that skill when we have to take the subway for work, and it's as packed as a can of sardines. As always, we have to admit that we're actually just jealous of them and their feline skills. 

There was actually a scientist who thought this was really interesting and did a whole investigation on cats and their liquid behavior. He confirmed it: cats act like liquids and are able to adapt to the form or whatever bowl they're trying to fit into. The man even won awards for it. Really, he fulfilled our lifelong dream: to get famous and win awards just for talking about cats. 

Let's face it, most of us are not getting close to winning any kind of award any time soon. But what we are close to doing is having a jolly good laugh! These photos are perfect for laughing and getting surprised at all cats' ability to bend and stretch in the weirdest of angles. 

Sometimes, it pays off to be a little chonky.

Cats are pretty resilient creatures, so in most weather circumstances they can get by, but dehydration and hunger can be the scariest when a cat is lost outside. Elsa, our 6-year-old cat below, escaped during her pawrent's move to a new house. Her hooman came back and searched for her for days, but couldn't find her. Weeks later, she got a call from the new tenant asking if she lost a cat - Elsa was hiding there, not making a sound, for 3 weeks! With only the toilet for access to water, she was able to survive, but Elsa didn't eat for 3 weeks.

Luckily, Elsa was a bit chonky before she got lost, and that probably saved her life. Upon her safe return home, her pawrent took her to the vet, where he said something surprising: she was still a little overweight! We like to think Elsa just forced herself onto a crash diet or a water fast for 3 weeks.

The impurrtant thing is that Elsa was found, is now safely snuggling with her pawrent in their new house, and Elsa is healthy. She will also be going on a real diet, with the vet's help, soon. Until then, we're thankful that Elsa was chonky, and if she can be a little chonky, then maybe we can too and not judge ourselves too harshly for it.

It takes all kinds of people to rescue cats. More often than not having a deep love of felines and the willingness to do whatever it takes is more than enough to perform a cat rescue. But as was in the case of this feline rescue, someone with a very special skill set was needed to perform the precarious rescue.

For you see this was a classic cat stuck in a tree situation. Well, classic might be diminishing the depth of the drama in this story seeing as this cat was not merely a few tens of feet of the ground but almost 100ft up in the air. A height that even the harvest of firemen is not capable of scaling and that is where our rescuer @canopycatrescue on tiktok comes in. They are veterans in scaling tall trees and saving cats, and their expertise and talents were instrumental in getting this cat back to their family. Expertise that they likely picked up from their main line of work as tree surgeons.

It is not an uncommon situation that a cat gets stuck in a tree. And being the kind of creatures who enjoy doubling down on bad decisions you can imagine that when going back down did not look like a good idea to the cat, it decided that going a bit further up would be better. That is until she ran out of the tree to climb and found herself helpless and hopeless. This story just goes to show that you never know what kind of random skill might just save the day when you least expect it. 
 

It is not often that we hear a cat rescue story that begins with a neighborhood cat, most likely because most of the time they do not require rescuing. But when one feline found itself struggling to eat and getting skinnier and skinnier one cat loving hooman simply could not stand by and let him waste away.

We have to say that this is quite the departure from our regular cat rescue stories, if that can even be a 'regular' thing. But in most cases cats are found in vulnerable pawsitions either injured, trapped or dumped and they rather willingly come along with the hooman who has come to help them. However, in this story the cat was a neighborhood catto, known to everyone, fed by many and adored throughout the street.

But when this poor cat started to struggle with eating and eventually walking it was only one resident who stepped up to save him. Not that he was willing to come along quietly, after all he is a child of the streets, but soon enough he gave up the fight and admitted defeat. And it is lucky she did because had he spent a few more weeks on the streets his story could be a whole lot different. So we thank this caring cat rescuer for her hard work and iron will to save a cat from themselves and to ensure that a sweet soul who had brought her joy throughout the years receives the same courtesy from her.

 

A woman spotted a lost kitten stuck beneath a bridge and thought, "This looks like a job for the firefighters." And it was. Firefighters got there and used an eleven-foot ladder to help the kitten down.

A firefighter climbed toward the ledge while the people below waited and hoped the cat wasn't hurt. "The cat distribution system selected us!!" the woman was happy to explain on her socials. The setting was a very dangerous spot for the kitten to get down safely alone. He clearly needed help. Imagine the kitten seeing the concrete walls, a steep drop, and realizing he had almost no room to move. I would have done the same thing he did: stay in place, unmoved, and wait for someone to help. Luckily, a person spotted him and asked for proper assistance. 

When the kitten is brought down from the bridge, the danger is finally over, but the recovery is the one thing that's left. According to the woman, Sheila, the little cat was dehydrated and starving, which suggests he may have been trapped for quite some time. He was even shaking when brought to safety. Even so, he appeared otherwise healthy and was soon receiving warmth and food. And of course, all the snuggles he could handle. 

The final cat pictures show a different scene from the opening. The exhausted kitten is curled up comfortably, resting under a blanket, as he much deserved. For the first time in an unknown number of hours, the kitten could sleep without fear of falling or being forgotten. Sheila wrote that the next thing they'll do is visit the vet. This is another sweet example of the cat distribution system in action. For some reason, Sheila spotted the kitty and not any other person. And for some reason, she was the right person at the right time, because she spotted the kitten and saved him. They were meant to be! 

Cats are naturally mischievous.  

Sometimes there's nothing more precious to us than our pets. They give us so much love without even trying, and it's easy to take them for granted. Sometimes it takes a scare, a shake up like the one here in the story to come to terms with full appreciation for them. In the story here, a couple has a sweet girl, Captain. She goes missing one day and doesn't return. It's been over a month, and they've already grieved the loss of their angel. But then one day the husband hears meowing in the distance, only to see little Captain running at full speed towards him. In a miraculous shift, their sweet girl was home safe and sound. They are going to give her extra treats now that she's back. It must have been absolutely terrifying for the pawrents to think that their girl was gone. Having an outdoor cat runs the risk of them getting lost or hurt and not returning. But thankfully, that's not what happened in the story here. Here's to a story with a happy ending. 

Ahh, sleep. The time away from our grounded, day-to-day realities. 

The time for our candy-colored clown they call the sandman to tiptoe to our room while we doze in and out of consciousness, vacillating between worlds until we land in our sleeping states for the night. A soporific scroll to lull ourselves before we cozy up into our covers, hiding from the world, opening up to REM sleep to dream a little dream or two. Dreams are fascinating. They really are windows to our thoughts, feelings, desires. Different philosophers and psychologists will have differing opinions on the meaning behind dreams. Freud, for example, believes that every dream is a deep wish. 

We're not the only ones to dream at night. Our pets dream too! Have you ever seen your four-legged sweetie kicking their paws and squinting their eyes while deep in sleep? They're having a dream. I wonder what their subconscious brings to them as they doze away to cat-dreamland. When you're in a sleepy, staid torpor of listless lulled energy, drifting between the pendulum swing of wakefulness and slumber, there's nothing better that will send you into a dreamy sleep than a simple cat scroll of wholesome and hilarious memes before bed. We can all be grateful for certain aspects of society and culture today, because one of the most valuable things to worship right now is sleeping. Think of our grandparent's generation, waking up at 5 in the morning to do manual labor as a child, and the fact that everyone thought that was normal and even prideful. These days, we can all take a step back from strenuous and unnecessary work for a little bit more leisure time. 

More leisure time = more cat memes. More cat memes = more happiness. More happiness = better quality of life. So when you think about scrolling, there should never be associations of guilt or facile enjoyment, there can be feelings of real pleasure. So enjoy these sleeping kitties while you lull yourself to slumber. 

Adopting two kittens can be chaotic enough. Adopting four… turns the chaos into something beautiful. 

Losing a cat is one of the hardest things that any cat owner can go through. We are so close to them, so bonded. They are part of our family just like any other member is. When you lose them, nothing will ever fill that void. No one cat will fill that exact shape. But we still love cats, and if a cat shows up on our doorstep in need of help, we cannot turn them away. That is our duty as cat people. No cat left behind. 

Still, adopting a cat after a loss is something that you need to be ready for. You need to know that no one cat will replace what you have lost. No one cat will fill the void, make you forget, or distract you from the emotional pain. But maybe four… Maybe adopting not one, not two, not three, but four kittens will start filling that void. They will still never replace your cat. They will never be the same as the cat that you have lost. But we will say this… having four wiggly, loud, squeaky kittens running around your home and causing chaos will bring enough joy into your home to alleviate some of the pain, whether you want them to or not. They will not give you an option. 

Sometimes hearing a sound can change the direction of your day. Imagine you're walking on the street, and you hear a faint meow of a kitten coming from nearby. You start searching for it, and then you find a vulnerable kitty under a bush.

This is what happened to a passerby who heard the lost kitten and stopped to investigate. The animal was so young that leaving it behind wasn't an option. He was covered in dirt, and he really needed a bath and a proper bowl of food. As the rescuer explains in the video, the cat looked like it wouldn't survive on its own, so they took the kitten home. 

That decision changed everything. There was no plan to adopt an animal that day, but the animal who needed a home just appeared nearby and suddenly he had a new family. They named him Kiki and gave him the care his little body desperately needed. After every meal, every gentle touch, and every moment of attention and love, the kitty started feeling safe and began to grow. Little by little, the uncertainty of the roadside life began to disappear. As there was no more uncertainty in his life, the cat grew into a big, happy cat. Being able to see this process is so heartwarming. Kiki is even said to be "very well behaved." Even a calm bath time becomes another sign of how much trust has developed between the kitten and the person who stopped to help. 

Animal rescues begin with a stressful moment, but their real meaning is revealed in everything that follows. The sweetest part of the story is that someone heard a meow, paid attention, and decided to show compassion. And for Kiki, that brief pause and moment of compassion meant a whole new life with food, shelter, care, and the possibility of growing up in a house surrounded by love.

Show a cat kindness once, and you will win their heart for eternity. 

It is a well-known fact that cats domesticated themselves. We didn't need to do a thing. No convincing was necessary. Cats are as adorable as they are. We, humans, are as weak as we are when it comes to small and cute things. This plus that means that we were doting on cats and pspsps'ing at them likely since the dawn of time. Cats didn't need to get domesticated to get our love and care. All they needed was to walk into our homes as they are. That is because cats recognize human kindness. Or maybe they recognize good servers. Either way, sometimes it's enough to feed a stray cat once for that cat to keep coming back to you for eternity. 

For georginarg, it took more than one feeding to win over this stray cat. It took patience and understanding. But once this adorable skinny kitty was won over, there was no going back. She recognized this human and their home as a safe place to come back to, and to that safe place, this itty bitty cat brought her even smaller and itty bittier kitties. Hey, momma cats need help sometimes too, and if you are offering that help, they are more than happy to take them. This kitty went from a skitty stray cat to yet another cat who has domesticated themselves. And she is going to enjoy being spoiled and loved for the rest of her life. 

Can a cat cat even harder when they let their inner soul cat shine?

All cat people ask themselves, "Are we actually cats in disguise?" Because honestly, we always feel like there's a smol cat in our soul that controls our every move. A little like in the movie Ratatouille, but less with a rat on the head and more with a cat in the soul. Think of how much cat-like you've become since raising a cat yourself - like cat vibes that have been dormant and have awakened, little by little, since you see a cat every single day of your life, doing their cat thing, and just generally existing next to you. That's that inner soul cat we're talking about.

But that's something we can wonder about between ourselves, because we're human. We have language skills and theinternet, to share ideas quickly across vast distances. But you have actual cats - and we're not talking about the ones in your home. We talk about the wild felines of nature, the big cats who are still wild animals in all their being. These are big bois, but somehow, they're all still cats. So we can't help but wonder - do they have the same smol soul cat within them, stirring their life in the cat way?

Last time we checked, tigers don't speak, cheetahs don't write, and bobcats don't understand a word we say. We can't really ask them. Well, we can, technically, but we'll never get an answer. Definitely not like cat people wondering together whether their lives are controlled by an inner soul cat. But we can have evidence. And the best animalistic evidence we can think of comes, of course, in the shape of memes. So we're going a little off the trail today and bringing you cat memes, but the big edition. Lions, leopards, and even smaller but wilder versions of cats. And let us tell you - they're all very, very, very cat.

If you've ever opened the fridge five times hoping something better magically appeared, these cats get you.

Opening the fridge when you're not even hungry is basically a universal experience. You stare inside, move a few things around, decide there's nothing you want, close the door, and somehow come back ten minutes later expecting the options to have magically improved.

Apparently, cats get it.

The second that refrigerator door swings open, some felines come running to conduct a full inventory check. They stick their little heads between the shelves, sniff every container, and stare at the contents like they're trying to decide what sounds good. Never mind that they have a perfectly full bowl three feet away. Maybe there's something better in here.

Some kitties are clearly hunting for the good stuff. They know the wet food lives somewhere in that chilly snack vault, and they're willing to investigate until they find it. Others seem less interested in eating and more concerned with what their hoomans have been hiding behind this mysterious door all day.

Then there are the bold ones who skip looking altogether and climb right in. Apparently, sticking your head inside isn't enough when you can personally inspect every shelf. Nothing says "I live here too" like planting four paws next to the milk and refusing to move.

Of course, their timing is always impeccable. You're trying to grab one thing before all the cold air escapes, while your tiny fridge inspector has decided this is the perfect moment for a thorough investigation.

Maybe they're searching for chicken. Maybe they're hoping a Churu magically appeared. Maybe they're doing exactly what we do at midnight: staring into a fully stocked fridge and declaring there's nothing to eat.

Either way, these fridge-foraging felines are proof that cats really are just tiny, furry versions of us.

This feral feline wouldn't go anywhere near another trap, so his caretaker had to get creative to help him.

Big Fluff wasn't exactly looking to make friends when Reddit user Ok-One-5683 first got him TNR'ed last summer. The extremely feral feline was badly matted, so the shelter shaved him while he was there. After being neutered, though, something started to shift.

Big Fluff decided to stick around. He made himself at home on the property, hanging out in the cat barn and wood shed with the other community cats. Even better, he stopped immediately darting away whenever food arrived. That was a pretty big win for a kitty who wanted nothing to do with humans.

Unfortunately, all that glorious fluff grew back with a problem. His coat became severely matted again, and this time getting him help wasn't so simple. Ok-One-5683 found a vet willing to sedate and shave him, but first Big Fluff had to actually get into a trap.

He had other ideas.

Rather than immediately spending around $1,000 on a drop trap and vet visit, his caretaker decided to try something much slower: earning his trust.

Armed with yummy wet food and a whole lot of patience, Ok-One-5683 began cutting away the mats one tiny snip at a time. Some days Big Fluff allowed nothing. Other days they managed four or five snips. Most importantly, he stayed in control of how far they went.

Then came the big fluff win.

One day, he simply let his caretaker finish. Instead of running, Big Fluff patiently stayed put, occasionally looking up while the remaining mats were carefully cut away. He even allowed some brushing afterward.

For a formerly untouchable feral cat, that's huge. Big Fluff got relief from a coat that must have been terribly uncomfortable, but something even better came out of those tiny snips: trust.

Hopefully, future grooming will be a little easier now that Big Fluff knows these helping hands are on his side.
