She said she wasn't driving herself home, not that she was available to drive six people home across town at midnight with an early appointment the next morning.

One offhand comment in a group chat became a fully formed transportation plan that nobody ran by the actual driver. She found out at midnight. It did not go well.

One heavy rainstorm completely changed this tiny kitten's life for the better.

Reddit's r/kittens subreddit is full of tiny rescue glow-ups, and little Loris had one in record time. He was found soaking wet in the middle of the road after a heavy downpour, and the difference between the first photo and the updated one only two days later is huge. Going from tiny drenched kitten with irritated eyes to bouncing around playing with everything in sight is such a satisfying recovery.

The timing of the rescue really could not have been better either. A five-week-old kitten alone in the middle of the road during heavy rain is a dangerous situation, especially for one that tiny. The fact that he was not injured is incredibly lucky. Instead of being left there, he got picked up, cleaned up, treated, and brought somewhere warm and safe.

The little details make the story even sweeter too. Naming him after the town where he was found is adorable, and Lori is such a cute nickname for a kitten. The update about him already running around playing with everything feels like the biggest sign that he is feeling better and settling in fast.

Tiny kittens somehow recover emotionally so quickly once they are safe. One minute they are cold, scared, and soaked from the rain, and the next they are zooming around the house acting like they have lived there forever. Loris seriously went from stormy roadside rescue to spoiled house cat.

Is it a job interview or the first stage of workplace indoctrination?

Job interviews are already stressful enough without turning into strange tests of loyalty. It is tough, you cannot possibly be expected to live your life in the constant knowledge that sometime soon you might be called upon by the Cat Distribution system to save a cat. But to a certain degree that is the burden we take upon ourselves as cat lovers anyway. Let's be honest, who amongst us who does not even have a cat has found themselves out and about with cat food at the ready to give to a stray in need of feed? Yeah, that's what we thought.

But when this story from Reddit's r/cats subreddit pawrent came across two cute kittens curled up in a box he was less than prepawed for the leap than he thought. Perhaps it was his late night and lack of sleep that knocked him off his game, but in the time it took him to deliberate what to do with the kittens in question they could have been half way down the next block. Well, not really, but it does give us food for thought about how we prepaw ourselves for the fateful day the CDS calls upon us. 
 

Should this teacher go easy on her husband's 13-year-old niece after a string of cancelled classes and missed payments?

Mixing work and family is a risky move, as this teacher is just now finding out. 

Who doesn't love a family discount? And who doesn't love spending time with those they hold near and dear?

In theory, working with your family members should guarantee everyone involved a good time. But more often than not, the plan just doesn't work out that way. 

Instead, as this teacher explained, the family is kind of taking advantage of her niceness. 

They're not respecting her work schedule. Instead, the teen keeps cancelling randomly. But since they're family, the teen thinks she shouldn't have to abide by the rules. 24-hour cancellation fee? Not for her. 

Now, this teacher is stuck in a predicament, as she shared in a story to r/amithea--hole.

Have you ever thought about getting up and leaving a restaurant because of how long you were forced to wait for the check?

We can't count how many times we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly we would get our food at a restaurant, only to be equally disappointed by how slowly it takes the server to bring us our check. It's as if, after the server knows you're done ordering more food, they no longer care about the dining experience and have no problem leaving you to dry as you wait for your opportunity to pay and leave.

In most cases, we have no choice but to wait until the server finally remembers our 100th request for the check and allows us to pay and leave, as we are not actually about to dine and dash out of the establishment. But for some people, waiting is not an option.

First responders, such as the doctor who shared this story in Reddit's r/amiwrong community, often find themselves leaving in a hurry after they get called in for an emergency. Since that tends to happen a lot, most of them know how to quickly sort their business before leaving, or at the very least explain the situation and promise to be back with the payment. When that happened to this doctor as they were dining in a restaurant, they quickly asked for the check, but were surprised to find their server blatantly ignoring their request and claiming, "I'll get to you when I get to you."

This left the doctor no choice but to leave without paying, instead leaving a note with their phone number and asking the establishment to reach out in order to arrange the payment. Later, when the manager called, the doctor explained the situation, and the understanding manager gave them the meal for free. Then the doctor found out that the one who ended up paying the bill was the server who refused to hand them the check in the first place…

The life of an artist is hard enough, but the life of an artist cat parent is even harder.

You don't know to what extent people have to go just to have a cat live at home with them. People think having a cat is easy, because they're "independent" or something. These people have clearly never had a cat for once in their lives. Cats are extremely social, and this "independent" bullsheep is an ignorant stereotype. That's why every time a cat pawrent takes on a new hobby or activity, the household cat takes it upon themselves to be part of the process and participate. Just ask any artist - which is exactly what artists on wetcanvas talked about.

It's a question as old as time (or at least as old as humanity domesticated cats) - how do we get them off our art supplies? Why do we love to squish our cats so much?

It's almost a given that all cat people would love to squeeze their cats, giving them a big bear hug like they have a chiropractor appointment. Sure, we all want to squish our cats because we love our cats, but that's not a detailed enough answer. Kittens are simply adorable. There's really not a person on earth who you tell you kittens aren't cute. Not just because they're so ubiquitously cute, but because probably the person would be afraid of the kitten planning some sort of revenge. Kittens aren't just cute, they want to be cute. They know they're cute and have power over us; we look at them like they're the most innocent of creatures, and in a way they are. But in another way they're all knowing about their affect on us and therefore can be…manipulative. It's not in a bad or evil way, it's completely normal with the state of their cuteness. 

Love is definitely in the air when kittens are involved. In fact, kittens might be one of nature's most successful examples of emotional persuasion. They arrive in the world impossibly tiny, equipped with oversized eyes, squeaky little meows, and an uncanny ability to make fully grown adults abandon all logic the moment they appear. And somehow, they know it. You can see it in the way a kitten dramatically rolls onto its back the second it wants attention. Or how it stares at you with those enormous eyes after committing a minor crime, like knocking a plant onto the floor or sprinting across your keyboard in the middle of an important email. A kitten somehow manages to be both the culprit and the victim in every situation.

Something suspicious is definitely afoot at this company.

This California-based online user, who posts under the name Vijinner, recently became unemployed after his company issued a series of layoffs. At the time, the separation seemed to be pretty normal under the circumstances. He signed a standard agreement and took severance. Now, nearly three months later and a full month into a new job, the user's ex-boss reached out, enforcing that he sign a new and comprehensive non-disclosure agreement.

The ex-employee had no reason to believe that there were any questionable practices at his old company until now. He shared his story with the r/legaladvice subreddit, searching for answers to see if he absolutely needed to sign this NDA.

Take it from the woman who wrote in Reddit's r/torties about the brazen kitten she now calls Acer. It was last September, she was sitting on the pile of wood. She started visiting the yard as a young kitten. The woman's maternal instincts kicked in, and she felt that Acer was much too young to be wandering the streets alone. She initially thought she was someone else's pet but she wasn't. She thought she was pregnant as well, and took her to the vet. Despite the fact that her partner has allergies, she took the cat in. These cats prove that every space is cat space. Cats have this special talent of fitting into impossible spots where no one expected to find them, and still look at you like you are the weird one questioning it. Nobody knows how they got here, but they did. There is never any explanation and never any regret. Only cats sitting in awkward places know why they do what they do.

Cats don't see obstacles. They see opportunities. A tall shelf is an invitation, a narrow container is an exciting challenge, and if you leave your washer's door open, they might want to inspect how well it's working while you're out of the room. Every ordinary household object deserves a cat's exploration.

Scardy cat? Or just a neighborhood grey cat? 

The person here first met this little guy at the end of September 2025. He tells Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem that on the day he got his keys to his new house he saw this grey cat jumping onto the roof. He assumed it was the neighbor's cat passing by. Over time, he noticed the cat has been showing up in the backyard almost every single day, just happily chilling there as if it was his own. The person also assumed the cat was a stray because his coat was matted and rough, and he sometimes looked quite dirty. He also noticed how weary of people the cat was, and it always went on hyperalert mode when someone came up to it. 

Although the cat was clearly skittish, they made progress together. He's in Melbourne, and the winter weather is here, which means the cat is less comfortable outside. He left some food for the cat to see if he would eat it. Then he got home from work and noticed the bowl was completely empty! He checked the security footage and was the little grey thing. He started leaving food every single day. Then he chose to kick things into action: he saw the grey thing hiding in darkness quietly watching him through the window while he did the dishes. He turned on the backyard lights and prepared some food and water. He went back inside and closed the window. The cat slowly approached the bowl, and dug in, the human sat about a foot away and watched, staying low and trying not to scare the grey. When the cat was done, the two just stared at each other. For those who may not know, this is an act of trust building in the cat world. They were really having a moment when suddenly the neighbor blasts music, but the human knows the two have made progress, and the cat probably feels more welcome in the neighborhood now. Hopefully one day he'll be posting that the cat is officially his! 

He even made a DIY Styrofoam bed and shelter for the grey thing. He's just happy the cat went from bolting every time to staying and spending time together.

From Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, this person tells the story of how they got Walter, a stripped little kitten. He received a notification from his camera system that there was movement in the garage. He lives in California, so it could really be anything. Then he sees in the camera this little fluffy guy walking towards the dog's food bowl. He snuck outside, blocked off the open side of the garage and tried to find the kitten. He left a door open into the house in case the kitten wanted to run in there. Two hours go by and this guy's been running around. He takes a break and goes inside, and when he looks at the camera again he sees that the little guy has now gone in the opposite direction toward the standup fridge and freezer. 

He knows the kitten is too small to set off the trap, but he ties a string to the trap door and ran it out the window on the other side. He then set up a camera pointed towards the trap so he could know when it was inside. An hour later, the kitten was inside eating again and this time the guy could pull the string and get him. He got him into the house and into a two story kennel ready for fosters (in case the cat distribution system blesses him). Meet Walter! He thinks that maybe the kitten is separated from his mom, but he plans on making the rest of their lives happy and together. 

This family road trip has just expanded, because this person's mother-in-law simply invited herself along for the ride.

A family trip to the Caribbean sounds blissful! Soaking up the sun next to cerulean blue waters, snorkeling with your siblings, and even hiking to a waterfall. So much fun! This family is bound to make memories that will last a lifetime, especially since they're bringing along a large chunk of the family, including both grandmothers and a handful of teens. 

As they say, vacationers want to get there fast, and then take it slow. Not the other way around. 

This family seems like they're taking the long way to get to paradise by squishing every family member into one car, then driving together.

And we're pawsitively thrilled with every cat adoption story we come across, as plain or weird as it is. Sometimes it's a cat appearing on your porch, demanding to be let in. A classic. And sometimes it's a daring cat rescue mission, a thrilling saga. And this one? It's all in one. But the most impawrtnat thing is that the kitten is now with his forever family.

Is this well-meaning relative wrong for telling her homeschooled cousins that they need to learn how to read? 

Reading is one of the most important skills a person can have in their life. Though a lot of folks don't actually like to read, they learned it anyway because their teachers pushed them to. 

If it was up to many students, they'd simply spend all day playing video games, scrolling TikTok, or talking with their friends. A lot of parents are under this impression that their kids will have this natural inclination to read, that they'll evolve over time into an adult who knows how to read. And that's just not the case. 

It takes dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of instruction for a child to develop the skills necessary to read books. Parents need to read to their kids each day, ideally, starting from birth. Then, their teachers provide them with additional instruction as they grow up. 

Yet with the new and growing trend of homeschooling, some children aren't learning how to read.

But regardless of our cats trying to escape a literal indoor paradise that we painstakingly built for them with 100% of our own money, there is no excuse for cheating in a relationship. None. Zero. After finding out that her husband had an affair last week, our pawrent posted in a pawpular subreddit called r/Cats, which is basically a giant community of cat lovers and owners sharing their love for their fluffy felines. She admitted to her husband's infidelity, submitted some pics of her cats, and she was met with the most wholesome response from her fellow feline fans. Not only did they share pictures of their own cute kitties (which no doubt cheered her up, at least a little bit), but they also encouraged her to leave him and take the cats.
