Being an older sibling means standing up for your younger ones, even if they're making mistakes. Everybody has to make their own mistakes in order to learn from them. It's a sibling's job to just be there when they need you. 

When this little sister decided to do a surprise wedding for her third marriage, her older sister advised her against it. She has children and as only recently started seeing this man that she wants to marry. She claims it just "feels different" this time, so she's marrying him no matter what. So, the older sister had a decision to make. Alienate her little sister and shame her for her mistake, or tell her how you feel, but still be supportive. Of course, she let her know this was a bad idea, but if she is going to do it no matter what, she will support her. So now she is roped in to not only being the only family member who knows about this wedding, but she is also now the officiant. It doesn't help that the little sister is surprising everyone at a family dinner for her 30th birthday, where she will be switching up partying plans and turning them into wedding plans. 

So, her family will be going to, what they think, is a birthday party, only to be then sideswiped with the fact that they are at this woman's wedding for her third marriage… 

When you start to meet more than few cats, you start to understand that most of them are highly unusual in the best of ways. Some have no concept of purrsonal space, some only drink from blue water glasses, and others turn out to be unlike any cat you've ever met. Some cats and hooman pairs are just meant to be.

You can never truly know the purrsonality of a cat upon meeting it. Cats are naturally shy creatures, and they are known for taking their time to get used to new people and places. It makes sense, after thousands of years of evolution teaching them that the cautious cat usually survives the longest. Even though the worst thing they'll have to survive in your house is being fed 5 minutes late for dinner, their genetics don't understand that.

But what we've found more often than not is that when a cat truly opens up to you, and your family, it's one of the most rewarding expurriences. To us, ironically, the best cats have always ended up being like dogs. Loyal, affectionate, and with a rare desire to make you happy, not just themselves. It happens when the purrfect hooman meets the purrfect cat, then meowgic unlike any other happens. 

Cats are like haikus: Short, sweet, and to the point. 

Felines aren't like dogs, and instead of wagging their tails in complacent glee, they tell us how it is, no matter what. A cat is the kind of creature that would always be honest with you, even if the truth hurts. If they don't like your hard-earned garden of exotic orchids, they'll knock those pots right off the counter. And if a cat is displeased with the amount of kibbles you think they need for dinner, they'll be meowing until the sun rises for breakfast. 

Like a splash of cold water to the face, a cat's demeanor is both shocking and refreshing. 

They may attack our ankles and meow at 2 AM, but cats are snugglebears with cute meowments too. Cats surprise their humans with a head nudge, a tail flick, or simply by curling up in our laps, proving that they're not here to always be our overloads, but our friends as well. While they may rule with an iron paw and an unyielding sense of supremacy, cats mostly just want to be treated like the sweet, feisty babies that they are. 

Equal parts spicy and sweet, it's the perfectly mixed elixir of a cat's inherent "catness" that makes every human swoon. 

Found in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven or sprinting to the front of the glass at their humane society adoption event, it's a cat's immediately enormous purrsonality that fills the room and fills the hearts of their humans. They may be smol in stature, but a cat's aura is as mighty as their will, proving that they are truly descendants of the king of the jungle, the leopards in the trees, and the mighty snowcats of the frosted tundra. 

Now, your cat may be a chunky, fluffy baby, but they have visions of predators, dreams of apex lineage, and the glory of every cat that came before them. Bow, human, to your meowghty overlord, the cat. For kitties and all of their truths make us better humans at the end of the day, forcing us to reconcile with our time, our money, and our overly expensive plants. 

He was trying to do something nice for the office, but nobody respected his espresso machine. 

Coffee lovers gag at the thought of the cardboard-flavored swill they serve up in the company break room. Ancient drip coffee machines that have never been cleaned leave a strangely haunting aftertaste in their mouths, like the taste of overworked fatigue and workplace desperation. In a pinch, some cafe aficionados may pour themselves a cup of Joe, but even the over-poured coffee creamer and sugar won't cover up the flavor of disappointment. 

That explains why this guy offered to bring his own coffee maker into the workplace. 

He had spent years at his desk dreaming of the creamy espresso, the frothy milk, and the perfect cup of coffee he could make from the comfort of his own kitchen, and a lightbulb went off in his head one day when lamenting with his colleagues: Why not bring my machine into work? There's no reason this man couldn't enjoy a good cup of coffee from his office chair, yet when he raved and cooed about the joys of his machine, his coworkers insisted he share the good word with them, too. 

At first, things were hunky-dory, but soon the office entitlement took over, and this refreshing amenity was being treated more negligently than the 15-year-old Mr. Coffee in the break room. 

It was never refilled, it was never wiped down, and most importantly, the office never brought their own coffee pods. At $1 a piece and in this economy, 12 coffees a day made this man's wallet ache more than his heart. A true coffee lover would never stand to watch their machine be treated with such distaste, and just because he had made a kind gesture to the workplace, it didn't mean he had to uphold it beyond its expiration. 

Nothing would stand in the way of a coffee lover and his good cup of the day, but he certainly wouldn't be extending the benefit to his ambivalent coworkers any longer. They proved where they stood when they raided his desk's private stash of coffee pods…

Sometimes, the ones that need the most love are actually the most loving.

We know how tempting it is to go out and adopt a kitten. Believe us. If there's one purrson who's a sucker for kittens, it's us. Our neighbor had an oopsie litter a few years ago and they asked us to take one, and we took three. But everybody wants kittens. Those big eyes, tiny mews, and awwdorable little faces… they're practically impawssible to resist. But if you look past those kittens and search through the other kitties that are looking for love, you're likely to find more than one senior cat who would just like to live out their life in a nice, cozy home.

Our feline fan spent one whole year trying to earn the trust of Tabs, the crusty, feral, senior cat who loved his lawnmower. After months of trying to get close and lots of treats, Tabs eventually allowed an ear scratch, and then Tabs decided to become their resident guard cat. After about another year of living on their porch, his pawrents decided to retire him to the cushy indoor life, and we're happy to report that Tabs is loving his new life of luxury. 

Despite his rough appearance, Tabs is actually a cuddle bug. Don't judge a book by its cover, especially not a senior cat. Everyone deserves a Tabs in their lives, and we can honestly tell you that it's one of the most soul-nourishing and fulfilling things to give a senior cat some peace in their final years of life. It's hard, don't get us wrong, because you get attached and then they leave you, but the sweetness outweighs the sadness.

If you let knowing that you'll be sad because of something stop you from doing it, you're missing out on a life of pawtential love. And cats like Tabs are practically bursting with love.

What kind of person asks for someone to do them a solid, only to throw them under the bus the first chance they get?

This employee was kind enough to take a risk by helping her coworker out. The coworker said she was running just a few minutes behind due to a family emergency and asked if the employee would clock her in early. This way, the coworker wouldn't get in trouble with their manager, which would inevitably add another conflict to an already overwhelming week full of obstacles for her.

In theory, showing up five minutes late would not have caused an issue. The coworker likely would have been able to sneak inside and start work before their manager even had his morning coffee. However, she was more than just a few minutes behind. She was over 30 minutes late.

Naturally, the manager, who certainly had his morning coffee by then, had some questions about where the coworker was and why she was already clocked in. Guess who was ultimately blamed? 

There is nothing that improves our mood faster than a collection of purrfect cat memes. 

Funny cat memes are one of the pillars of our mental health. We mean that. We think that scrolling through some silly cat memes every single day is good for the soul. It doesn't take a long time. Freddie the Tesco cat is an icon in his community, but for a moment, Tesco underestimated just how important he was to his friends, and they banned him. Except the community protested, and his ban did not last long. 

People who are not cat lovers really don't understand just how important cats are to us, the people. Everywhere we go, if there is a cat, people around him are smiling. Maybe not everyone, but a lot of them. Because it's hard not to. Cats are just… cute, and people smile at them. And if the cat is friendly, which Freddie very much is, then people truly cannot resist the cuteness. 

Of course, there is Buster the junkyard cat, who walked in one day, never left, and became one of the reasons that people come to the yard. There is Indy the museum cat, who has become an icon not only in her community but online as well. And nearly everyone knows about bodega cats. Those are all iconic in their communities. They are part of our world, and we love having them in it. Freddie was less famous online among all of these cats, but he's on par with them now, after the protesting that people did when he was evicted from Tesco. 

Blending six-day-old spaghetti into fresh sauce to "thicken it" is definitely… a choice

What starts as a questionable kitchen shortcut quickly turns into a much bigger conversation about trust, timing, and why "you didn't notice" is not always the comforting argument people think it is. 

Paying for the birthday party of the adult man who runs your company feels a little backwards. Yet, like a reverse bonus that comes every year, the boss's birthday is always played like some spectacle that HR can never afford, forcing that cost on the backs of every lowly employee on salary. 

Here's an idea: What if the boss paid for his own birthday party? 

Weirdly, CEOs making 6-figure salaries, who make an appearance in the office once a week, are rarely held liable for any financial struggles in the company. When quarterly goals aren't met, and revenue is plummeting, it's never the C-Level bosses who are expected to take on the jobs of laid-off employees, get their promotions furloughed, or who have the looming axe of unemployment dangling over their heads. Despite the workforce being expected to carry the brunt of the workload, they're still the most underpaid and underappreciated portion of the company. 

Until, of course, it's the Big Man's big day.

This is a great life lesson for everyone: don't work harder just because your company chose to fire all your talented coworkers

Ain't no such thing as company loyalty anymore. 

It doesn't matter if you've worked somewhere for 5 minutes or 15 years, because in your boss's eyes, you're expendable. A number on a spreadsheet. And if the right numbers aren't going up, employees will be taking the fall. 

Higher-ups would rather fire workers every day of the week rather than ever take a pay cut. I mean, a lot of C-suite workers make millions of dollars each year, while the workers who make their company rich are making like, $75k. It's all quite unfair, and this person is urging workers not to break their spirits by overworking just to correct an error that a rich CEO could've prevented. 

Bags don't stay empty for long around cats. 

Cats don't see bags as objects, they see them as opportunities. The second one shows up, it's game over. Paper, plastic, tote, doesn't matter. If it makes that little crinkle sound, it's basically a personal invitation. You put a bag down for one second and suddenly there's a cat inside it like it spawned there.

They also have zero respect for size limits. A bag that can barely hold a sandwich will somehow contain a full cat. Front half goes in confidently, back half gets sorted out later. There's a brief pause when the bag makes noise, then right back to business like nothing unusual is happening. Full purrsuit of bag living.

Once inside, they're convinced they've disappeared. Entire cat visible, tail waving around, head poking out, still acting like they've mastered stealth. They'll sit there staring at you like you're the one missing something. Peak delusion, zero doubt.

The bag is no longer yours. It has been officially reassigned. You could have just unpacked groceries, you could need it later, none of that matters. The bag has a new purpose now, and that purpose is cat.

You may pay rent, but the cat owns the place. 

Cats don't move in, they close on the property. No paperwork, no inspection, just one confident walk through the door and suddenly they're the homeowner. You might have signed the lease, but they clearly see themselves as the landlord. From that moment on, it's less of your place and more their purrsonal residence.

They set the house rules immediately. Doors must remain open at all times, chairs are first-come first-served (and they always come first), and any surface can become a designated cat zone without notice. You try to relocate them and get hit with a look that says that's not in the contract. It's their way or the hallway.

They also take their role seriously. Daily walk-throughs happen on their schedule. Slow, deliberate steps from room to room, occasional pauses to loaf in the middle of everything like a supervisor on site. If something is out of place, they'll inspect it. Quality control is clearly a full-time job.

After a while, you just accept it. You adjust your routine, work around their chosen spots, and respect the boundaries they've set. They're fully settled, completely comfortable, and running the show. You're not the owner, you're just lucky enough to live in their house.

What time is it? What day is it? What year is it? Seriously, who even am I? All I do is eat, dream, meme, and repeat. Actually… When I put it that way, it kind of sounds like I'm living the dream. Seriously, though, memes are fantastic. Here we are getting bombarded with dark headlines one after another. You'd think we'd all be in the pit of despair by now. But nope! Memes always come to the rescue to help bring you back to realizing that life isn't that serious. Nothing is that serious. Nothing is even real. How old am I? Somewhere between 33 and 1,000. How many lives have we all lived? Is that even a thing? I do not have answers to these questions, but I do have memes. We shall survive with memes! 

A once fearful cat is now choosing cuddles on her own. 

This couple adopted Méi, a 3-year-old calico who had already lived a full life before even getting to them. She had been found outside with three kittens, so it made sense that she came in cautious and unsure. In the beginning, she kept her distance, hiding most of the time, watching everything closely, and not fully relaxing. They were even told not to expect much closeness from her, which made those early days feel a little uncertain.

But things started to shift faster than expected. Within about ten days, she made her way onto the couch, sitting near them instead of staying hidden. She was curious, clearly wanting to be close, just not fully ready yet. Even while her owner was away, she recognized her voice on the phone and came looking for her, which says a lot.

Then came the real turning point. After being gently introduced to the bed, Méi came back on her own. Not just once, but over and over, climbing up, getting closer, settling in, and eventually sleeping right on top of her. Now she follows her around, chats constantly, and purrs like she has a lot to say.

It's the kind of progress that feels small on the outside but means everything for a cat like her. She went from always watching from a distance to choosing closeness on her own terms. Now she keeps coming back for more.

What was supposed to be a simple wedding invitation quickly turns into an unexpected job offer with no paycheck attached. After being asked to take on full MC duties, this guest finds herself responsible for running the entire event rather than enjoying it. With little connection to the bride and no clear appreciation for the workload involved, the situation starts to feel less like a celebration and more like an obligation. Now she is left wondering if setting boundaries makes her the problem or if she is just asking for basic fairness.

See that? That's the look of pure kitty brainlessness.

We're not saying that all cats are stupid or something. In fact, cats are highly intelligent and skilled! But for some reason there's a strange dissonance between their intellect and abilities, and their countenance. There's a common and unforgettable dumbfounded look on their face. They're constantly bewildered at something, and it seems like they mentally just arrived in this universe. They could have been elsewhere, but we'll never know it. But in a way, that's what makes them so cute, unique, and memorable. There's something so pure and innocent about their silly smiles, their tongues sticking out, and their eyes wide in shock at some invisible thing. They're playful and imaginative, and that's part of why we love them so much. There's endless amusement with cats solely because of that blank expression. They look at nothing, and it looks like nothing is inside their heads. One moment they're elegant, poised, and regal, but the next they're staring blankly at a wall as if they've completely forgotten what existence is. The juxtaposition is more than funny, so please, enjoy this tasteful dose of dissociated cat memes with no thoughts. 

The boss's insistence that staff work from the office all the time without flexible arrangements created issues in the workplace when she refused to follow her own policy.

I'll never understand why some bosses and employers are so adamant that work of the sort that can easily be done on a computer from anywhere must instead be done in an office.

There's always this discussion about some conductive energy, this cultural surge that will happen, that staff will somehow link up like the Power Rangers or something, and with their powers combined, all of that collective energy will be greater than the sum of its parts, leading to new ideas and greater productivity. 

If this really happens in real life, I have yet to see it. Working in an office, especially all the time with no flexibility, is draining and, over time, pushes workers into "going through the motions," and any short promise of greater communication and smoother transduction evaporates back into a figment of an ethereal dream. 

While it might appear that workers are busier in the office, there is a lot of "performative" work giving that impression amongst all the added sudden distractions and long awkward silences punctuated by someone who probably should have taken a sick day and stayed home coughing a few tables away.
