US Army Company Clerk Gets Clerical Revenge On Toxic Commander and Ruins His Career
If there's one person you don't mess with… It's the person who is in charge of the books. This person has the capability to rock your world in ways that you really don't want it rocked. This was especially true in a time before the internet when there wasn't a thing called a "digital backup," and often, backups weren't a thing at all. Even if the documents were important enough, were used, and did exist—they'd be at another physical location and would have to be mailed, which could take weeks. This, coincidentally, is the same length of time it takes me to respond to a text message or email.
In these days, where messaging wasn't instant, the record keeper was king. After all, the records these keepers kept have shaped our understanding and perception of—not only individual rulers—but entire civilizations. You really don't want to piss these guys off.
Unfortunately for this egotistical, toxic commander, respecting the clerk wasn't a lesson he had learned, but it was a lesson he was soon to learn and never forget.
Keep reading for this brilliant tale of revenge in a time before the internet age. For more, check out these thirsty Marines who maliciously complied with the officer's poorly worded command of "Two beers, no more."

'The email systems melted down. Everything went offline': Completely clueless employee emails 30,000 people about an apartment, spawning thousands of emails
This dude told a hilarious story of email insanity, writing, "I witnessed this astounding IT meltdown around 2004 in a large academic organization…" As the OP, u/sfsdfd, told to r/talesfromtechsupport, one employee ruined an entire email system for basically everyone involved.
It all started in an organization of about 30,000 people in an academic setting. Lots of people went on vacation at the same time, so there were lots of "I'm on vacation" auto-replies going out. That was no problem at all. The issue arose when one employee decided to bring a personal issue to the attention of literally everyone, including the CEO!
All this woman wanted to do was ask if anyone had any information about a local apartment she could rent. Unfortunately, her request triggered an auto-reply nightmare, thanks to the many folks who were vacationing at the time. These emails kept replying to each other — and to the 30,000 people on the email chain — resulting in literally a half million emails to this system! It sounds like an annoying or hilarious day to be at that job, depending on who you are, and at least the OP got a great laugh out of it!
Next, this person got the pleasure of reporting their own company's labor practices – not that they didn't try to tell their HR department first.
Mama Cat Gives Birth To 5 Kittens, Owner Needs To Be Convinced Not To Keep All The Babies To Herself (Viral Thread)
Hey pals! Today we came across a very busy cat mama and her human who is contemplating keeping the 5 kittens her cat recently birthed. So to the original poster of this adorable thread- first of all, congrats on your new furry friends! While it's tempting to want to keep all five kittens, it's important to consider both the pros and cons before making a decision. On the pro side, having multiple kittens means that you'll have an endless supply of cuteness and snuggles. Plus, they'll have each other to play with, which can be great for their socialization and development. And let's be real, who doesn't want to be surrounded by a bunch of adorable kittens all the time?
However, there are also some cons to consider. Taking care of multiple kittens can be a lot of work, and it can be difficult to give each one the attention and care they need. Plus, as they grow, they'll need more space, food, and supplies, which can add up quickly. And if OP already has other pets, adding more to the mix can be challenging. So, before making a decision, it's important to consider lifestyle and resources. Do you have the time, space, and finances to care for all five kittens? If not, it may be best to find loving homes for some of them. In the end, the decision is the original poster's, and it's important to do what's best for the kittens. Whether she keeps them all or finds them loving homes, we're sure they'll bring joy and happiness for years to come. Redditors chimed in to give their own two cents on the situation! Let's get to the details.

‘I’m Not Responsible for Your Tiny Idiots’ : Reckless Parents Expect Server to Babysit Kids, Blame Him When Kids Ultimately Smash Restaurant Property to Smithereens
Kids are a bother—whether they are yours or not, but I'd argue that it's easier to hate them less when they have your DNA. A server, for example, has no incentive to like them—especially when he works at a wine-tasting establishment, where you wouldn't really expect to find kids anyway. These parents came in with high expectations, thinking somebody else would watch their kids while they drank, laughed, and did what grown-ups do… had fun.
As if servers don't have enough BS to deal with on a daily basis… the audacity is unreal. What happened was inevitable. They ran around unsupervised because the server was being paid money to serve, not to babysit. In the end, the parents had the nerve to get mad at the establishment (particularly at the waiter) because how DARE they do their actual job instead of the silently assigned task the parents had placed on them? What ensued was chaos.

'You can't quit on a Friday': Company ignores employee's two-week notice, tries to fire him after he already left the company
This IT guy was working for a large firm as a contractor for their IT department. His experience was one that people often have within a giant, bloated corporate behemoth: The managers were unreliable, the expectations were too high, and the company had an odd culture that tried to give you more work, as congratulations for a job well done, rather than pay you fairly.
That sounds like something that the owner or CEO thought of one day when they were sitting on the toilet, and all the "Yes Men" surrounding them were just too afraid to tell them that that idea should have been flushed along with the other waste.
But, the CEO, like many other employers, thought that they could pull this one off; prattling on about their culture, utterly blind to the fact that each and every one of their employees knows exactly what they're doing and hates them for it.
The IT guy left after his original notice period was up, despite the fact that the employer had never accepted it. When they called him up on his next shift, wondering where he was, they tried to fire him for no-showing.
Keep reading for the full story. This whole experience sounds strangely similar to the time that a Karen boss refused to take her employee's resignation and left to go shopping instead.
'Not my job, not my problem': Coworker gets fired for questioning policies, company suffers after no one takes on her work duties
This job seems to check all the boxes of a toxic work environment. Reading this epic tale of malicious compliance is like coming across one red flag after another. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/Current-Fly8346, who began working for this family-run operation while in college. Pretty quickly, they started taking on more responsibilities with no pay bump. They also got a friend (Katy) hired and didn't receive their promised referral bonus.
The CEO and his wife accused the Redditor and Katy of talking too much in the office, so when they fully separated themselves from one another, they also stopped communicating about projects, thereby making their productivity, well, less productive. Eventually, Katy voiced concerns about how the business was run and was unfairly fired. Rather than take on her duties, the Redditor decided that enough was enough and refused to be responsible for any more than what was included in her job description. Eventually, the company's sales began to suffer, and the higher-ups began to take notice. Keep scrolling below to see how the Redditor defended themselves when they were confronted by the office Karen.

21 Coworker Memes for Understaffed Teams of Employees With One Foot Out the Door
It seems like there are barely any workplaces with adequately staffed teams of employees at this point. Everyone is wondering, 'Huh, why don't we have more workers?' when the answer is simple: People don't get paid enough to deal with rowdy, delinquent customers. Bank accounts all over are sitting on the same number, or recede slowly into negative zeros. People want to be compensated properly, but that obviously ain't happening in this economy.
It can be jarring to deal with such negativity on a daily basis. There is one thing that makes it better (or worse) though, aside from memes — your coworkers. Maybe not all of 'em (we see you Karen). Sure, there is that one person who never seems to shut up about how critical their input is to the team (again, hi Karen) yet is never, ironically, seen working.

20+ Liars who got called out and roasted for lying online (February 22, 2023)
These days everyone wants to be an influencer… chasing clout and fake internet points in order to feel that success they were taught to crave—to feel something, anything really.
We're a society of individualists who are seeking to distinguish ourselves by proving to the rest of the world that we're better than everyone else and have something unique to offer in a space that's constantly drowning in the noise of every single person trying to do that exact same thing, giving their reaction to every little thing at every single possible second. Unfortunately, when it comes to views, clicks, and algorithms, the only bad content is unmade content.
Some people don't find themselves earning the attention they crave, and, let's be honest, their sucking black hole of an ego will never be satisfied. So, instead, they turn to stealing other people's creations and pretending these are their own.
Sometimes these people are caught and called out on their nonsense, getting roasted by the wider internet and told to "quit your bulls***."
Farmer Discovers Pregnant Besties, a Barn Cat and a Rabbit, Have Given Birth at the Same Time in the Same Place, Lets Them Raise Their Families Together
It's not often that you come across a farm where different animal species cohabitate, let alone create their little birthing next in the same spot. But at one farm in North Carolina, that is exactly what happened. The adorable pregnant besties, a barn cat and a rabbit, decided to give birth right next to each other and now the baby bunnies and smol kittens are one big cuddle pile.
"I snapped, and... shouted at her, 'You sound incredibly desperate'": Woman flips out on student who has an obsession with her boyfriend
There's never any shortage of theatrics at in this university drama program — especially after this woman called out the woman who was brazenly flirting with her BF. Using a throwaway account, this OP wondered if she was wrong for flipping out on this woman. As u/abc_throwaway explained, she and her boyfriend both study drama at their university. But their relationship has been plagued by "Victoria," a fellow student who is apparently obsessed with the OP's boyfriend.
OP claims that Victoria goes out of her way to try and get with the BF in group activities, and even went so far as to take a smaller part in a play just so she can have a stage kiss with the BF. Things finally came to a head at a party where everyone was inebriated, and the OP flipped her lid. Now, she's wondering if she went too far…
Up next, this teacher agreed to not leave their classroom without asking permission, and cued up their finest methods of malicious compliance.
Cat Got Your Tongue? 20 Feline Memes And Photos Of Cats Caught In The Act
They sure are a mischievous bunch the feline family. Like tiny supervillains they sit all day planning plots of revenge upon the hooman that bought the wrong wet food that one time, or the other hooman who decided it was time to bring a dog into the house without consulting the cat. You might not know it but they are coming, edging closer one paw at a time.
However, it seems that they get a little stuck on the getaway sometimes and like a deer in the headlights they freeze, mouth agape, eyes wide in disbelief that their plan has been foiled so quickly. The authorities have arrived, and there is no way out but to try and look too cute to punish. The problem is they frequently get away with it like that…Ah when will we learn?
'She LIED about the pregnancy': Woman makes fake pregnancy announcement at family gathering to steal her sister's thunder
Sibling rivalry has been and always will be juicy! In this case, this woman invited her family over to announce her and her wife's first biological child (they have two children already, one of whom is from the wife's previous relationship), but there was a bit of an unexpected turn when the woman's sister stood up on a table and announced her own pregnancy. Believe me, it gets even juicier.
She shared her story via this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit and revealed that later during the party, her sister confessed privately that she wasn't actually pregnant. Naturally, this made the Redditor explode a bit. Obviously, we don't consider the Redditor to be in the wrong at all for getting angry given this psychotic lie. That being said, keep scrolling below in the comments section because some folks did the math and realized that there may or may not be a huge plot hole in the Redditor's story that could potentially reveal why her family isn't the biggest fan of the Redditor's partner. For more stories like this, here's one about a guy who dumped his girlfriend as a result of her KPOP obsession.
"If I Fits, I Sits:" 50 Purrfect Pictures of Cats in Boxes That Just Might Melt Your Heart
Ah, cats and cardboard boxes - it's like a match made in kitty heaven. You could have the fanciest cat bed in the world, but if there's a cardboard box nearby, your cat will choose the box every time. It's like they have a sixth sense for knowing when a box is nearby, and they can't resist the urge to investigate. Maybe it's the cozy darkness of the box, or the scratchy texture of the cardboard against their fur, but cats just seem to love the feeling of sitting in a box. It's like they're king or queen of their own little kingdom, peering out at the world from their cardboard fortress.
And let's not forget the joy of watching a cat try to fit into a box that's clearly too small for them. They'll scrunch up their bodies and contort themselves into all sorts of weird positions, determined to fit into that box no matter what. It's like watching a feline version of Tetris, and it's just as entertaining. But perhaps the best part about cats and cardboard boxes is the sense of comfort and security they bring. When your cat sits in a box, you know they're feeling happy and content. And honestly, who can blame them? If we could all find joy in such simple pleasures, the world would be a much happier place.
'He’s a proper mummy’s boy, I want him to just grow up': Dad upsets son after siding with his ex-GF
Parents, would you ever side with your child's partner over your actual child? One dad was put in that predicament himself, and went to r/AmItheA**hole asking for advice.
U/inappropriatedress77 explained that his kid had been dating a woman for about two years, but the relationship was long-distance. Although the family loved when the GF visited, her BF would never fly to see her. He claimed it was because he was scared of flying because he's never done it. As a father, u/inappropriatedress77 believed this was the time to dole out some parental advice.
Commenters had mixed opinions, but most said dad was not the a**hole here. Perhaps the commenters claiming "everyone sucks here" have the right idea though – dad could have been much nicer in delivering his message to his son.
Up next, this guy allowed his best friend to hold her wedding at his home, but then her fiancé suddenly asked for an insane request.
