Distressed kitten found dumped in family’s garden just as their soul cat crosses rainbow bridge, providing comfort and cuddles in heartbreaking time of need, mom says: ‘Jinu is such a sweet girl, she knew we needed her and I will forever be thankful.’

LOL Cats - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 09:00
The Cat Distribution System works in mysterious ways but what it always knows to do is to deliver its felines to their new hoomans at the purrfect moment. Which is exactly what happened to the family in this story who were gifted a kitten by the CDS just as their soul cat began to cross the rainbow bridge.

It is never easy losing a cat. No less if the cat happened to be your soul cat, beloved by all members of the family. But it is an unfortunate reality we have to live with, but one that has just as much upside as it does down. Especially when the CDS is on your side and ready to help fill the void with a cute kitten.

Now, sure, this family did not know that they were about to lose the cat who had been a big part of raising their children and making their house a home. But that is just how the CDS works, they know how to spot a potential problem and get ahead of it before it is too late. And it was with impeccable timing that the CDS brought this kitten so that it would be settled and ready to support its new family through such a tough time in their lives.

Employee turns the tables, uses micromanaging boss's own reports to trick her and expose her hypocrisy in her criticism of his work: 'I found the folder online and used her past work verbatim'

Fail Blog - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 09:00

Sometimes it can feel like there's no winning in life. No matter what you do, say, or contribute, there's always some fault, something to take issue with. Working with someone who is like this, especially when it is your boss, is miserable. Over time, their incessant nitpicking remarks about your work can leave you questioning your aptitude and abilities. Even those with the most iron-clad self-confidence may find themselves wondering if it's them or their boss.

'Get your paw out of my smoothie!' Most hilarious things people have caught themselves saying to their cats

LOL Cats - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 08:00
The experience of cat ownership is unique for everyone, but we can all agree on one thing - living with cats is hilarious.

We did not grow up with cats. We got our first cat when we were teens. And let us tell you, it was a life-changing experience. Whatever we thought cat ownership would be like, it wasn't like that. From the first night, when our itty bitty kitty insisted on climbing into bed with us multiple times in a row, despite us being so scared of turning over and crushing her. Over time, we have learned so many things about what cats were like. We have learned that some cats love sinks for some reason, and follow you into the bathroom. We have learned that cats don't like closed doors - not because they want to use the doors to get in and out of a room, but just for the principle of it. We have learned that, despite the fact that cats don't understand us, cats can be really talkative. And we talk back.

One of the funniest things that we have learned - about ourselves, not our cats - through cat ownership, is that we really do treat our cats like tiny humans. We talk to them like we would to anyone else. The only difference is that we find outselves saying some absoltuely hilarious things to them that we would never say to other people.

Boss discovers remote employee lying about their location: 'Can I fire them immediately for this?'

Fail Blog - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 08:00
This employee works remotely, but they weren't exactly honest with their boss about which country they've been working from!

Should a remote-work employee have to disclose where they're actually working from? I can't imagine this is a problem that comes up often, so it makes sense that this confused boss is asking for advice.

Why in the world would an employee lie about where they are in the world? In the age of VPNs that can hide your location, it's not impossible, but a smart tech team could still probably figure out an employee's location without breaking a sweat. It's an awfully strange thing to do… If you work remotely, it shouldn't matter so much where you're logging in from each day. But for this boss, it actually matters a great deal.

As they shared in their request for help below, the employee seems to be traveling quite a bit, and perhaps they've been lying by omission. They're supposed to be in the UK, but they seem to have moved without telling anyone, and are just letting everyone assume they're traveling all the time. No idea why they'd want to do this charade… Read the boss's account below, and see why the boss is so worried about this.

Kind humans save a cute screaming kitten from a sewer drain, but the "normal" kitten won't stop growing, so his humans begin wondering: 'He is absorbing the weight of 15-20% of everything he eat'

LOL Cats - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 07:00
Whenever you bring a stray cat home, you have to be ready for anything.

That is what we have learned over our time writing for ICHC. Maybe you will be one of the rare ones - one of the people who rescue a completely normal kitten. One that has no quirks or strange obsessions or qualities. Just a normal cat. But more likely than not, if you rescue a cat from the street, you will get some of that uniqueness. Maybe you will get a cat that is obsessed with snap peas. Maybe you will get a cat who hates closed doors and yells at each and every one that it encounters. Maybe you'll get a cat who'll suddenly change color and make you wonder if it's not quite as normal as you thought it was.

Or maybe, you will end up going thorugh something similar to what this couple is going through. Maybe you will rescue what looks like a completely normal kitten, behaves like a completely normal kitten, and is in purrfect health. But that kitten will not stop growing. Ever. Not slowing down for anything. Maybe you will end up in that situation and find yourselves asking, just like these people did, if their normal cat is, in fact, normal.

A Lunchbox of 36 Work Memes to Satisfy Your Midday Craving for Laughs

Fail Blog - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 06:00
Wearing multiple hats in public would look totally silly, but these days, "wearing many hats" in the workplace is basically a resume requirement.

Anyone who's applied for a job in the last, hmm, let's say, 10 years, has felt the burn of needing to be multifaceted. Despite the degrees, the experience, and the innate charisma of a desperate prospect, job seekers are pressured to take on way more than the average employee and are expected to have the same level of work ethic even after they've been onboarded. As if getting hired isn't a full-time job on its own, with some job offers requiring 1-2 months of interviews, back-and-forths, and "we'll get back to yous," once an interviewee is officially hired, that's when the real work begins

Suddenly, management expects workers to take on more and more, until their job description hardly resembles what they were promised in their offer letter.

As if being a hard worker wasn't enough, once an employee has transcended and become irreplaceable, they must take on many new roles, putting on as many hats as they can fit on their heads. Not literally, of course, but to a company, ie: the overlords who control your paycheck, wearing multiple hats in the workplace just means that you're a single employee who's willing to take on many different job positions without a title change or a raise. "Huzzah!" say the higher-ups, cheering on the other side of their glass ceiling because, from the views of their ivory tower, all they see are hard-working little worker bees buzzing below. On the surface, we are a "family," but in reality, if an employer demands their workforce take on more work than what's possible in a 9-5 capacity, that's not a relative relationship anymore.

Luckily, we have the good fortune of being wiser than that, giving 100% of what we're due for in pay and cashing out every 10-minute break, every lunch, and every speck of PTO until we climb the ladder and earn the title of a single, perfectly fitting hat. Until then, workers have memes to help them get through the shift, laughing with their favorite coworker until 5 PM rolls along, and we repeat the process once more.

Employee gets even with critical boss by using her flawed format for submitting reports before quitting: 'I hope you're having a bad day, Paula. You deserve it!'

Fail Blog - Mon, 02/16/2026 - 05:00
This bank employee felt that her manager was after her. She was right.

In any professional environment, you may eventually get the feeling that a coworker or boss doesn't like you very much. At first, you might consider that you're just being paranoid. But after a while, you start to compile evidence that you are being treated more harshly than the other employees in your office.

This author started to feel like there was nothing she could do to impress her manager, Paula. Whenever she submitted her weekly reports, Paula always criticized her work without fail. It got to the point where there was clearly some personal vendetta going on, and the author was determined to prove Paula wrong.

Tuxedo Cat Takes the Gold in the Winter Paw-lympics, Going Viral for a Feline's Touch on Outdoor Snow Events That Impress the Judges (VIDEO)

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 15:00
Cats never waste an oppawtunity to impress us humans, especially when a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Pawlymics is on the line.

Surprising us at every turn, kitties and felines never cease to amaze, and the outdoorsy snowcat in this next video proves just how spectacular cats can be. Oftentimes, when we see the dainty toebeans and the adorable whiskers of a house cat, cat lovers assume that their purrfectly manicured mean mittens will never touch the filth of the outside world. Like indoor royalty, cats relish their ruling in the indoors, enjoying the plush of their ergonomic cat bed and the warmth of the fire in the fireplace. Many cats wouldn't dare set foot outside in the cold.

But some cats, like Fitz the tuxedo kitty, are built differently.

Normally, when a cat comes face-to-face with a snowball, they hiss and scratch at the idea, rejecting any inch of discomfort in lieu of their usual warm spot on the windowsill. However, indoor monotony, cans of tuna, and that darned laser pointer they can never seem to catch taunt the indoor cats, and some felines yearn for adventure. In the unusual case of this pawrticular cat, adventure led to athleticism, letting this black and white cat in kitty formalwear flex his prowess to his hoomans.

Once again, impressing us with a cat's natural beauty and grace, this athlete became the star of the internet, proudly accepting a gold medal (albeit as the only contestant) in the Cat Winter Olympics. Kindly consider this viral video as his submission to the next round of icy snow games, because this cat shows us exactly how powerful, dexterous, and adorable cats can be when we let them outside to play in the snow. Even when they're bundled up in their cat ear muffs, puffer jackets, and snow boots, this cat is far from frozen, and he's heating up the competition.

Look out, fellow Olympians, there's a new competitor on the ice! He may have four paws and a pesky curled whisker, but this kitty has earned his tuxedo time and time again out there in the snow. Of course, this is probably all to reap the benefits of a warm, cozy bed at the end of the night.

21 Relaxing Pictures of Cats Snoozing Their Sunday Away in the Sunshine

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 14:00
A patch of sunlight appears and somehow the cat is already there waiting for it.

When a warm patch of sunlight shows up on the floor, the cat finds it almost immediately. They could be anywhere in the house, but somehow they always notice when the light hits just right. They walk over with purpose and within minutes they're stretched out, eyes drifting closed, fully settled into the warmth.

Cats don't half-nap in sunlight. They melt into it. Paws loosen, tail still, breathing slow and even. The house keeps moving around them, but they've decided not to participate. The only task is staying inside that bright rectangle on the floor. If the light shifts, they drag themselves along with a sleepy stretch, determined to stay in range.

Watching a cat snooze like this changes the pace of the room. Conversations drop in volume. Footsteps get softer. Nobody wants to disturb the scene. It feels wrong to rush past a creature that has so clearly chosen rest.

There's no urgency in that sun patch. No schedule. No unfinished list. Just a cat stretched out in a warm spot, safe and satisfied with exactly where they are. For a little while, the day narrows down to sunlight and slow breathing, and that seems to be more than enough.

Parent refuses to let 16-year-old daughter's boyfriend get her a promise ring: 'I was stunned but ultimately I told him no...16 is too young'

Fail Blog - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 14:00
These 16-year-olds who are dating are already talking about a ring, much to the surprise of the teens' parents!

At just 16 years old, these teens are in their first serious relationship. They come from different family backgrounds, but when you go to school with someone, those things don't seem to matter as much. You build a friend group together, have a few classes together (or a shared lunch period if you're lucky!), and try to hang out after school, too. You might envision a whole future with that person! But at such a young age, that just might not be realistic.

Some people stay with their high school sweethearts forever. They get married, have a bunch of kids, and never leave their hometowns. That seems to work out well for a lot of people, honestly. But another large segment of that high school's graduating class is going to go off to different colleges across the US. No matter how much you promise to keep in touch with your friends and that boyfriend or girlfriend, college changes everything.

'Little man walked in and never left': What started as a casual visit from a hungry stray turned into a permanent life upgrade

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 13:00
The guest status expired and permanent residence kicked in.

In October, a small cat walked into the house like he already knew the place. He was friendly, confident, and very clear about wanting food. At first it seemed likely he belonged to a neighbor, so he was allowed to visit during the day and sent back out at night. He hated that arrangement and made sure everyone knew it. A vet visit cleared things up. No microchip, not neutered, and no one responded to neighborhood posts asking if he was missing. After that, the decision was simple. Next time he visited, he stayed.

He clearly wasn't new to indoor life. He used the litter tray immediately and meowed for meals like a professional. The vet guessed he was around six months old, still full of kitten energy and curiosity. Since moving in, he's revealed himself to be a lovable idiot with a bottomless stomach. He eats like food might disappear forever and then checks to see if there's more. His curved little ears and the fluffy fur under his feet give him a slightly messy charm that fits him perfectly.

What started as a walk-in visit turned into a permanent home. He picked the door, walked through it, and decided the search was over. Now he lives there full time, loud, hungry, and completely settled.

'Memes are back on the menu, boys': 31 Lord of the Rings Memes for Fans Quoting LOTR Whenever Possible (February 14, 2026)

Fail Blog - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 13:00
Winter has the workforce feeling more burnt out than Frodo at the steps of Mount Doom, trying to remind himself of the taste of food and the feeling of cool grass beneath his hobbit feet.

There's no exhaustion quite like the chronic fatigue of Frodo when he finally reaches the lava field of Mordor. Dragged down by the weight of the One Ring, contemplating his 1800-mile journey, and wishing his destiny would just play out already, Frodo exhibits a moment of pure humanity. Sometimes, it's easy to let the evils, the fatigue, and the adult responsibilities of the world get you down, but unlike Frodo, who literally carried the fate of the world around his neck, LOTR fans simply need to commute to work, finish folding the laundry on the chair, and order takeout for dinner. Our lives are quite simple in comparison.

However, the real difference between Lord of the Rings fans and our 4th favorite hobbit is that we don't have our trusty gardener by our side. Without a faithful friend like Samwise Gamgee (Samwise the Brave), Frodo would have never made it so far as Brie. One step further, Mr. Frodo, and I'll be farther from home than I've ever been. Although the duo became a trio fairly quickly, as Gollum would insist on tagging along, Sam was always by Frodo's side. Even when he wasn't physically there, when Gollum laid a lembas bread trap for him, he was with his boy in spirit. And it's this combination of mental fortitude and Fellowship that brought the Ring all the way to its fate at Mount Doom.

Although Frodo gets a lot of the credit as the Ring Bearer, it was truly Sam who made it all come together. Without Sam, Frodo would still be wrapped up in Shelob's web somewhere, waiting for Gollum to ransack his belongings and steal the corrupting ring. Alas, hobbits are stronger in groups, and Mr. Frodo certainly needed the help of everyone in the Fellowship, including Gandalf, Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli, and even Merry and Pippin. Without his crew of wayward soldiers, the Ring would have never made it.

That's the kind of friendship that LOTR fans seek, and with every rewatch, every quote, and every reminiscent moment spent in the Tolkienverse, they get one step closer.

Two feral kittens found hiding in truck engine get rescued, but third sibling takes 10 hours to crawl out and into kitten trap, cats given to local shelter for TNR and adoption: ‘She will be reunited with her siblings in their foster home this afternoon’

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 12:00
Feral kittens are found in all sorts of places, but it is rather rare to find them in an engine bay as they were in this story that tells the tale of the stubborn kitten who refused to leave his engine home.

While it was not a particularly comfy home, you can understand how a tiny kitten would find itself intimidated by the imposing character of a hooman looming over it and trying to capture it. If we were in the kitten's smol paws we would likely have chosen to do the same thing. But as always is, that which goes up into the engine, must at some point come down. And after a decently long standoff this kitten crawled out of its engine hiding place and into the trap that had been set up to capture it.

Resulting in quite the heartwarming reunion with its kitten siblings who had already made it safely to their foster home. This serves as a brilliant reminder that you never quite know where the CDS might come at you from and what kind of cat or kitten it might bring your way. And that all you can do is try to be prepawed.

Employee reveals that company paid $15k to be ranked the 47th Best Place to Work: 'I'm watching people quit in real time while we celebrate our amazing workplace culture'

Fail Blog - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 12:00
This company is trying to make everyone believe that it's an amazing place to work, but in reality, there's a steady stream of quitting employees walking out the door.

Any award that can be bought instead of earned shouldn't really be called an "award" in the first place!

This person is seeing firsthand what happens when a company cares more about labels than it does about its employees.

This kind of thing plays out all the time in the corporate world. Like, sometimes a company will do a survey and find out that, surprise surprise, their workers are super burnt out. So they task their employees with doing 10 minutes of deep breathing exercises and schedule a mindfulness workout on a Wednesday afternoon, then call it a win. Will this improve things for workers? Noooo! But will bosses feel excellent about their hard work toward making a better company culture? Oh, they certainly will.

23 If I Fits I Sits Cats Blurring the Lines between Solids and Liquids

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 11:00
It might have seemed obvious that cats would be considered solids in the world of matter, but after viewing this collection of cats sitting in and spilling out of small containers, you too shall begin to question whether they are actually liquids.

It is the most basic of physics that we were taught in school, matter takes on three states. Solid, liquid and gas. Now we know that cats are not gas because they can sit on our chests while we sleep and almost choke us out. But what is becoming more and more obvious is that we do not know for certain that cats are solids, and while they might not be pure liquid, there is a strong argument for them being a liquid-solid hybrid.

At least that is the impression that we got while putting together this collection of If I Fits I Sits pics. And it is something that you can see our cute cat companions doing in all sort of situations. Whether it is slipping away from our grasp, squeezing through impossibly small gaps, or as in these photos, sitting in tiny containers

Homeowner fights with HOA after increasing dues despite wasting away $300K without fixing road damage: 'Here's what they HAVEN'T done: fix the road.'

Fail Blog - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 11:00
This guy could keep a laundry list of things his HOA has not done for the community… and he did.

After a hurricane caused damage to the roads of this author's community in 2024, the local homeowner's association was given $300,000 to help repair said damage. The author notes that this was over 18 months ago now, and what have they done? Absolutely nothing.

Instead, they have increased monthly dues and continued to issue fine after fine to various residents for bogus reasons to collect more money. Naturally, this infuriated the author, who has committed to fighting them on this issue.

Abandoned parking lot kitten who SPCA tried to reunite with family gets adopted by rescue couple and their cat after original family ghost them 3 times, new cat mom says: ‘I call him my Little Owl, because he chirrups nonstop and is perpetually curious.’

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 10:00
Usually, you'd think that a chipped cat would be returned to its family after being found out in the world. But as you'll come to find in this story some families do not want their precious fur babies back and so someone else has to step in to give them a home.

Thankfully that someone else was the person who rescued the cat in the first place, meaning that this cat child wound up in familiar and safe hands. But in the tons of other cases in which families abandon cats or cause them to run away, the poor cattos are usually left to try their luck at their local shelters, if they do not get put to sleep that is.

So it is indeed extra heartwarming that in this case we have a cat who gets given a home that most other felines could only dream off, complete with its own feline sibling who is no drama to get along with. Heck this home sounds so sweet, cozy and comfy that we would not mind taking on cat duties and filling his spot if he shall ever relinquish it, darn lucky cat is all we can say.

Neighbor trims homeowner's trees, without their permission, while they're away on vacation: ‘[He] may have permanently damaged the trees’

Fail Blog - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 10:00
A vacation turns sour when this homeowner returns to his property and notices that his trees are rather bare.

You know that specific post-vacation feeling you get when you're in the car on your way home? You need some familiarity; you've been gone for far too long. That big tree in your backyard isn't only a tree anymore… It's a friend. You can't believe you're thinking this, but you kind of love your little life at home in your little, small, suburban town. Hospitality is hard to find in certain places, but you know you can count on your neighbors to hold down the fort while you're away.

Well… not really. If you're the homeowner who shared this next story with the internet, you will probably never trust a neighbor again. Why do people think it's okay to help themselves to another person's property? If there's something on their property that is obstructing your property, the least you can do is communicate! I think we're all in agreement here: My property is my property is my property.

What should've been a lovely return from vacation for one homeowner turned into a property dispute with their neighbor. The two are arguing about whether the neighbor is wrong for trimming the homeowner's tree branches without asking first. We think it's important to be transparent with people you share property lines with, but that's just us.

This story is a cautionary tale that warns you should never underestimate someone's adoration for their property. Yes, even the weird tree branches that hang from the old tree in their yard. We all have our preferences, and if our neighbors have a problem with our property upkeep, they need to vocalize that instead of taking matters into their own hands. If they don't, they just might have a lawsuit on their hands.

Resident stray cat finally rescued from the cold by coworker, only to be accused by other entitled employees of stealing the highlight of their day: 'Their happiness around seeing this cat is more important than the cat’s wellbeing'

LOL Cats - Sun, 02/15/2026 - 09:00
If they really cared about the cat, they would put its health and safety before their own needs. Any other response is nothing other than selfish.

If we could, we would adopt all the stray cats in our neighborhood, nay, the world, and bring them into our home so that they would never have to experience hunger or being cold ever again. However, we don't have millions of dollars for unlimited cat litter and food, so we can't. We adopt them when we have the space, try to find homes for them if we can't take them in, feed them, and try to give them as much love as pawssible. This way, they're more likely to adapt easily to an indoor life. We miss them when they get adopted, or run away, but we would never intentionally keep them stray just so we could enjoy their company, which is what these entitled employees want. They had a resident stray cat outside their workplace that some of them adored, but as the temperatures started dropping, one kind coworker decided to take the plunge and make her a purrmanent pet. The response from their coworkers purrfectly dumbfounded us beyond all doubt. All we can say is, they're not true cat people.
