We know that Caturdays are usually for funny feline pics and hissterical cat memes, but we want to warm your hearts today with a heartwarmingly wholesome rescue story! Picture this, you went out for an adventure into the nature and find yourself sitting calmly by the edge of a river. You start to hear something that doesn't sound like gurgling water, so you look around, and find a tiny, fluffy kitten just on the other side of the water!

The heartfelt hooman bean in this story quickly picked up this little kitten, took him home, and immediately began nursing him back to health. Another day in retail work, another entitled customer. That's the way of the world for the brave souls who work at retail shops, including u/CmdrGrayson, an assistant manager at a clothing store. 

There are customers who treat retail workers like people. Maybe they've worked in retail themselves, and know how grueling that job can be. But other customers do not care about the thoughts or feelings of the workers at all. They're happy to belittle them or mock them for no reason at all. It makes you wonder how they would act if they met that same employee outside of the workplace. That part of the social contract would be gone, and it would just be two random people instead of an employee and a customer. Would the customer still treat the worker as lesser-than? 

This person in u/CmdrGrayson's story was acting as if the employee had no feelings. He was treating them like they were a robot or something! Instead of getting the help he wanted, this customer just kept trying to annoy them. At least the original poster got the last laugh in the end! 

Next up, these siblings just can't agree on who owes who money, especially after the brothers' kids ruined a bunch of expensive art supplies.

There's this interesting thing that happens with KPIs, targets, and business focus. Sure, putting impetus into these areas will usually result in increasing them, creating the image of a larger, healthier, more profitable business. But what is the cost? Improvements will be taken as proof that there were inefficiencies in the way workers were doing their roles that they've now figured out or that they weren't working hard enough. When in reality, the truth is that other priorities have fallen by the wayside. Now, management expects the workers to keep up with these impossible standards they have set for themselves, resulting in a vicious feedback cycle that self-perpetuates as management pushes to improve this one metric.

You eventually end up with this really nice-looking facade of a business when presented from this one angle, while the rest of the structure has rotted away… right down to the foundations.

Everyone remembers a rule-bound teacher they had growing up who was such a stickler for order that they came off as mean or cold-hearted. While rules are important at school, at a certain point, the needs of the children are far more important. Every office has a technologically incompetent coworker. The truth of the matter is that some people simply should not be allowed to have phones or computers, and sometimes, I will include myself in this category. The number of times in which I have accidentally texted the wrong person is proof alone that I am not the most careful when it comes to technology. This is also proof that it is not always the oldest coworker in the office who is the technologically challenged one. In fact, I have had many older coworkers explain to me how to connect my computer to the conference room TV, and every single time, I still get it wrong. 

Still, there are several Boomer stories that Redditors included in their coworker venting stories, and there are a few instances of the reverse as well. It's further proof that while technology is usually intended to bridge people closer together and to make productivity easier, sometimes, the exact opposite result ends up happening. The best thing you can do in these situations is to laugh it off and not let it frustrate you too much because new technology isn't going anywhere.

Being an overachiever at work can mean a lot of things. For most desk jockeys and people who sit behind a computer all day, their goals can be a little more ambiguous than your average handyman. For office folks, we can't just say, "I want to complete remodeling this bathroom by this date"–we have to have more vague goals surrounding weird things like Excel speed, managerial standards, and that weird notion of 'shareholder value'. 

The guy in this next video decided to create a newer and stranger goal for himself in the workplace: Defeat the Excel obstacle course in record time. 

You might be wondering what in blazes an Excel obstacle course is and, believe it or not, it's far simpler than it sounds. Some bored desk worker somewhere created a template of solvable problems on Excel that can all be filled in or finished by shortcuts through the program and that 'obstacle course' has circulated through cubicles all over the world with folks who think they can stand up to the speed record. Well, one man was able to annihilate the standing record and recorded himself achieving his goal, but hilariously he has a mixed bag of a reaction that sends folks into a tizzy in the comment section.

These siblings were trying not to argue in front of the kids, but they just can't agree on who needs to repay who. 

Children will get into everything that they can. They don't always understand the concept of valuable items. They have no problem throwing food on the floor, breaking plates or vases, or keying your car, just to name a few examples. Their brains simply aren't developed enough to know why some things are more important to grown-ups than others. That's why it's usually the responsibility of the adult who's keeping an eye on them to ensure they don't run wild. 

These two siblings just can't seem to work out an agreement about how to pay each other back. It's partially because u/CSmith100000 owes their brother about $300… but the brother's kids decided to "play" with the original poster's art supplies. To the untrained eye, a brush is a brush and paints are paints. But the kiddos ruined some really pricey art supplies: replacing them with dollar store watercolors or Amazon brushes just isn't going to cut it.

There are certain people you do not want to frustrate in a restaurant, one of whom is most certainly the lead cook. 

However, as in any fast-paced work environment, people can get hot-headed and conflicts can arise between folks who feel like they are stepping on one another's toes. This lead cook was often stationed in an accessible place in the kitchen so that everyone could easily access him and vice versa. However, on one busy night, the lead cook briefly left his station in the hands of a new trainee, who had been doing a good job, so that the line cook could help with another station that was lagging behind. Of course, during this temporary moment, the cook's boss stopped by and saw that he had changed stations. The cook was given a "stern talking to" and was blamed for the slow productivity that night.

Well, the next time this situation arose, the cook made sure that he (and everyone else) remained in their stations just to show his boss how unproductive his instructions actually were. Cats, and especially black cats, have the worst luck at shelters. In a certain sense, animal shelters are one of the worst places that a cat can end up in. This is because, many hoomans do not quite know what it means to have a cat and what kind of unique challenges they pose as opposed to dogs and other more tame pets. Resulting in hoomans coming in, seeing a cute cat who really wants to leave the shelter being affectionate towards them, adopting said cat only to bring it home and discover that things will not always be so sweet.

And thus the cycle repeats itself as cats, much like the one in today's video, find themselves returned to the shelter for the most unacceptable of reasons, only to lose hope once more that they will find their forever family and home.
