If your boyfriend mistreats your cat… we think it's time to rehome. Rehome the boyfriend, that is. 

The indoor-outdoor cat is a real debate in the community, with understandable explanations for both positions. But one thing that we think everyone could agree on is that you do not force an indoor cat to go outside. And you especially don't do it against the cat owner's wishes. You don't have to like cats to understand that letting an animal - who has never been out before - out of the house is dangerous. Indoor cats are spoiled and happy to be spoiled. They are dependent on us, and no matter how curious they might be about the outside world, we know - and we think they know too - that they wouldn't be able to live outside on their own. 

We don't know what could have possibly led this man to do what he did - to purposefully hold the door open for a curious cat and let them out. His girlfriend has explicitly told him not to do that before, and he still did. Now, whether he did it because he doesn't care about the cat or doesn't care about her doesn't matter. Either way, her reaction was on point. 

We love it when the online cat community comes together to get a cat adopted. 

This has to be one of our favorite things about the online cat communities, and there are many things that we love about them. Cats are so popular online. Stories about them go viral all the time. It's just amazing for us to watch our communities use this power that we have for something as pure as helping a cat find its forever home. And it happens all the time.

Do you remember Fishstopper? The sad cat who went viral online, and because of that virality, finally got adopted and had some of that sadness leave his eyes. And what about Perdita? She was known as the "world's worst cat" online, but once posts about her started gaining attention, she got hundreds of adoption applications, and finally, a forever home where she would actually be appreciated. And just yesterday, a new kitty went viral - Dobby, a cat with four ears and a curled tail, whose fosters now have to go through hundreds of applications to see who is going to be his forever human. 

We have so much power in the cat communities online, and we are happy to report that we always use this power for good - to help cats get the lives that they deserve. 

When you need a small dose of happiness, the solution is a large collection of memes. 

We could always use a little more happiness in our lives, that is for sure. Even during the best of days, a couple of extra smiles never hurt anyone. But on complicated days like these, it matters even more. Maybe some people say that it is a bad thing to disconnect, but we don't agree with them. While everyone here at I Can Haz Cheezburger is a talented writer, we all possess other skills we take a great deal of pride in. Some of us are talented performers, others are gifted makeup artists, and there are a few who carry a love for arts and crafts. The one thing we can tell you for sure is that we always try to expand our horizons and find new hobbies that enlighten our days.

A recent activity we all decided to try is the art of making flowers out of pipe cleaners. It is an awwdorable trend that found its way to us, and we decided it would be fun to try and do it all together.

Now, as we've mentioned, we all possess different sets of skills, and some of us are simply better at certain things than others, and that is completely fine. So when we tell you that some hoomans made the most beautiful bouquets out of pipe cleaners, while others made flowers that look more like spiders than anything else, we mean it. However, even if one belonged to the latter group, we all had a blast. Everyone learned a skill, laughed, and had their day brightened up thanks to this activity. And even though most of us will not go near a pipe cleaner ever again, we are always open to new experiences and hobbies that come our way.

If arts and crafts are not your thing, fear not, we can still offer you something that will ensure you end this day with a smile on your face. It doesn't have to be a hobby or a new skill acquired, as long as it makes you laugh and keeps you happy, and we know exactly what can do both.

Black cats have somehow managed to be mysterious, adorable, chaotic, and completely ridiculous all at the same time. One minute, they're silently lurking in the shadows like tiny gothic creatures of the night, and the next, they're sprinting across the living room at 3 AM because a dust particle looked suspicious.

For cats, 3 a.m. is not bedtime. It's prime time.

Cats spend the entire evening acting perfectly calm. They nap on the couch, stretch lazily, maybe wander around a little. Everything feels peaceful. You go to bed thinking the night will be quiet. Then, sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m., the switch flips.

Suddenly it's sprinting time. Paws thunder across the hallway like a tiny herd of horses. A mysterious toy that has been ignored for weeks is now the most exciting object in the house and must be chased loudly across every hard floor. If you're lucky, there's also a dramatic leap onto the bed, followed by a landing directly on your stomach.

And if the zoomies aren't enough, there's always the staring. Cats have a special talent for sitting quietly next to the bed and staring directly at your face until you wake up. Once you open your eyes, congratulations. You are now responsible for breakfast, entertainment, and general attention.

The strange part is that it's hard to stay mad about it. A sleepy blink, a small head bump, or a soft little purr somehow makes the whole situation feel less like sabotage and more like a very early morning visit from a tiny roommate who simply forgot that humans need sleep.

The best family members come with whiskers and paws.

About a year ago, on Valentine's Day, a tiny kitten named Valentino arrived and completely changed one family's world. He was incredibly small when they found him and needed a lot of care in those early days. Keeping such a little kitten healthy is never easy, but with patience, love, and plenty of attention, Valentino slowly grew stronger. What started as a fragile rescue quickly turned into a happy, thriving cat who now fills the home with personality.

Over time, Valentino didn't just recover. He settled right into the family like he had always belonged there. The kind of cat who brings joy just by walking into a room, who makes ordinary moments feel a little warmer and a little brighter. It's amazing how such a small creature can have such a big impact on a household.

A few months later, the system worked its magic again and delivered a little brother for Valentino. Apparently once you're on the cat distribution system's list, there's no turning back. The household may need to start preparing for a steady stream of whiskered arrivals if this keeps up.

For now, Valentino is happy, loved, and firmly part of the family. If the cat distribution system keeps matching tiny kittens with the people who need them most, the world will always have a little more warmth in it.

Liking tiny things isn't a flaw or something to be ashamed of. It's a natural part of being a human being, so indulge in the things that make us feel warm, happy, and wholesome. Even if you're someone who's edgy, covered in tattoos and piercings, and you consider yourself bereft of a certain childlike innocence, you still have that inner child in you. That inner child is the one who wants to scroll adorable cats, to be enamored by tiny objects, and be a cat mom or dad yourself. 

Cats are some of the best animals for many reasons. As pets, they keep us company when times are tough, they're always there, and they're endless entertainment. Where would you be without their cute little whiskered face meowing up to your ear begging for a can of morning tuna? Or when you come home after a long and hard shift and they curl up on you just waiting to be pet. Or how about their wild middle of the night zoomies that make you feel as if you actually have a destructive teenage boy as a pet instead of a cat. There's nothing like a forest cat. 

This person thought they were just going on a trail walk in their local woodsy forest, but came home with an orange angel. He heard meowing and yelling, and then poof! This 10-week-old orange kitten just pops out of nowhere. He purrs and runs between the guy's legs so he can't even walk. The cat follows him for ¼ of a mile back to his cat and then just hops in the passenger seat! The person makes a vet appointment, but so far no one has claimed this ginger kitten, so he's been deemed a cat by the cat distribution system. 

You might have thought that the Cat Distribution System does not accept requests, but after reading this story you might find yourself writing intent-filled notes to the CDS in hopes of a delivery.

Ok, well maybe writing the CDS a note is a little too exaggerated, but the point still stands that more often than not, a pawrent is simply delivered a kitty, not of their choosing. It is a get what you need, rather than a get what you want type situation with the CDS. but in this story we are delighted to find a cat lover receiving the exact kitten they had always wanted, quite the departure from the usual story and wholesome one at that.

So if you had always hoped that cat wishes and dreams will come true for you, you will want to spend some time trying to figure out what this hooman has done in their life to deserve such a glorious gift as the tortoiseshell kitten the CDS brought them. If we had to guess we might put it down to good karma, but who is to say. 
 

As any cat pawrent will tell you, a cat child rules and dominates your life, putting you firmly within their control. So we wanted to take a moment to awwpreciate some of the cats who control the world's most well known celebs.

It is quite the thing you know, no matter how we look at it cats do have quite the significant amount of control over our lives. Sure they might not actively be able to influence our decisions but in their sneaky subversive ways they are more than capable of controlling what we do in many areas of our lives.

Say for example your cat does not like a particular piece of furniture in your home, there is little you can do to stop your crazy cat child from ripping it to shreds, forcing you to buy a new one. Another example could be if you bring home a significant other to meet your cat. If your cat does not approve then we all know what will happen to the SO who has been hissed at. So you have to wonder in what ways did the cats of these celebrities influence their decisions and shape them to be the influential figures that they have become. 
 

We love the results of a good Trojan cat story. They're mostly fluffy, cute, and very smol.

Seriously, kittens can make anyone's heart melt within minutes, like ice cream in the summer. But these kittens here were born in the height of winter, during an ice storm. Luckily for them, though, the Cat Distribution System sent them as an unborn delivery right on time to not meet the extreme cold as soon as they'd have been born. This is the meowgic of the Trojan cat - she comes in looking to be adopted, but she carries a sweet surprise. And as we said, kittens are a sure way to melt anyone's heart - and getting some as a surprise, in exchange for rescuing the mama, is an adorable situation to find yourself in.

And that's exactly what happened to this one pet-friendly family. They were already pet pawrents, so the CDS truly knew who they were sending the precious pregnant cat to. They thought they were saving one cute cat, but got three extra smol surprises as an additional gift. We're low-key jealous.

There is a specific, unbothered frequency that only the cattest of cats can tune into, and it usually involves staring directly at a blank wall for three hours. Being unapologetically cat is a full-time commitment to the bit - it's about having a designer bed but choosing to sleep inside a discarded cereal box instead. These feline icons don't just live in our houses - they graciously allow us to pay the mortgage while they perform high-stakes gravity experiments on our favorite coffee mugs.

Embracing this peak cat energy means leaning into your most stubborn, sassy, and meowsterious instincts. Whether they are performing a midnight parkour routine across your sleeping body or demanding "the good treats" with a twitch of a whisker, cats are the undisputed masters of staying true to their brand. They are messy, they are majestic, and they are absolutely done with your nonsense. It's time to celebrate the glorious chaos of creatures who are simply too busy being cats to care about anything else.

Dog owners may have to take their pets out multiple times per day to let them get out energy and do their business, but at least they let you sleep in in the mornings. Cats, on the other hand, are the best (or worst, depending on how you look at it) alarm clock in the universe. If you want to remember to do something at a specific time every day, give your cat a treat during that time. We guarantee you that your cat will remember the exact time within in a few days and will nag at you daily around that same time for you to give them their daily treat.

Our pawrent's problem today is one that most of us cat owners expurrience: getting woken up at the crack of dawn by your tiny, screaming fur baby. Cats are typically active during dusk and dawn, so cats are known for being extra vocal during these hours. And when you just want to sleep in past 6 AM once, it can be a nightmare (because if you didn't know, cats are very purrsistent). Her cat continues to wake her up very early and it's driving her crazy, sound furmiliar?

Well, our trusty cat community came to the rescue. With tips and tricks that worked for themselves, we're sure this pawrent is going to get a full night's sleep soon. And if not, well, there's always earplugs.

Treat cats nicely. They have feelings too. 

We know that for some people, that is difficult to believe. There is so much stigma about cats being aloof that people who have never experienced cats actually believe it. They don't understand that cats bond with their humans incredibly hard. They have never experienced having a little fluffy cat follow them around the house, meow a whole conversation with them, cuddle with them in bed. They don't get it. When we say that abandoning a cat is one of the worst things that you can do to it, we mean that. When you do that, you break their hearts. 

At least, we thought that abandoning your loyal cat is up there with the worst things that you can do to it, but this person somehow outdid that. They have three cats, but they are moving, and for some reason, they can afford to move two, but not three. And instead of looking for a new home for the cat - which would be difficult enough for the kitty - they decided to give the kitty up. But there was no room in the shelters. And that left them with only one solution, a solution that was unacceptable to their coworker, who saved the cat and gave the cat a true forever home. But the cat is still heartbroken, and the new owner turned to the internet for advice. 

Watching cats react to new things is one of our favorite things ever. 

We try to do it essentially every single day with our cats. We let them sniff basically everything that we bring into the house. We do it not even because we're trying to learn new things about them, but just because we kind of want them to experience as much as they pawssibly can, especially considering that they are house cats. 

We bring mirrors down to our cats' level so our cats can see themselves in the mirror for the first time. We attempt to bamboozle our cats with optical illusions, just to see if it would work on them the same way that it works on us. We play bird videos for our cats and watch their adorable confusion as they try to figure out the concept of screens and videos. Anything to make their lives a little more exciting. And we think that we have found the next thing. 

We don't know how we never thought of blowing bubbles next to our cats, but if their reaction is going to be in any way similar to this orange cat's reaction, then it is going to be wholeheartedly worth it. And apparently, catnip bubbles exist? Yeah, our weekend plans are set. 

Kitten season has just begun, and it's time to let our feline funnies fly.

Did you know that kitten season is technically from March to October? That means that there is a higher-than-usual number of kittens born between now and then! The bad news? A lot of kittens will be brought to the shelter to hang out with one another. The good news? There are so many cat lovers out there, like all of you, who are intent on giving them the furever homes of their dreams. One kitten? How about two, three, five! The sky is the limit, hoomans.
