Serenity, softness, dreamland…amongst life's tumults a bit of peace can be all we need. 

Wherever you are right now, whatever you're doing, and whoever you're around, there's probably someone there who is sleep deprived. Hey, it might even be just everyone there who's sleep deprived. Just because something is common doesn't mean it's normal, and being sleep deprived has become a constant state of being for so many people for so many different reasons. Cats usually don't struggle with this basic human condition. Cats have a way of…sleeping all day. And if you're a cat pawrent, extra reason to be sleep deprived! These little furballs will make it so easy to be awake when you don't want to be with their midnight meows, zoomies, and modes of chaos. Just because they're cute and seem innocent doesn't mean they are! Their way of harboring energy is by stealing it from you the way an energy vampire would. But at the end of the day what can we do? No one is going to get rid of them, and if you ask us at I Can Has Cheezburger, we would just sacrifice all our sleep for a better quality of life for our cats. 

With many childless millionaires now close to crossing their respective rainbow bridges, it is a good time to get to know the spoiled cat children who stand to inherit everything.

These are not your next door neighbor's cat. We are talking about some of the richest, most well to do felines who will soon be the proprietors of so much power and influence that it would not be all too surprising if they will take control of the world's food supply to ensure that they are getting the finest and freshest seafood around. Or whatever it is cats would do if given the opportunity to change the ways of this world to their will.

Either way we figured it would be a good idea for you to get to know some of these soon to be rulers of the world and so we put them together in this collection of cute cat children. Cat Distribution System deliveries can be some of the strangest feline-hooman meet cutes and this double delivery is certainly one for the record books.

For after going through a classic feral feline capture and rehabilitation this cat pawrent thought that their time with troubled felines was over. That from that point onwards they would be dealing with a decently well behaved feline who enjoys living indoors with them. However, old habits dissipate slowly and before long the cat she painstakingly worked on acclimating to her home went MIA. And as any reasonable pawrent would do she set up the trap once more to capture the catto she was sure had run away.

However, as fate would have it this was a Cat Distribution System trick designed to capture a second feral feline to join the first one who had been hiding in the basement tearing up the insulation while trying to chase mice. And with stories like this you can start to see where the creators of shows like Looney Tunes got their inspawration.
 

The cat distribution system said time for one more rescue.

Four cats through the cat distribution system and somehow another one shows up. This catto was pulled from inside a wall and named Oatmeal. A stray had kittens in an attic and two fell into the wall by a coworker's apartment. While the mother managed to retrieve one, the other was left behind crying until the coworker got him out. From there he got passed along and quickly upgraded from wall kitten to house kitten.

Oatmeal seems to have settled into the role immediately, especially once the wet food came out. After attacking a bowl of food for ten straight minutes, he's figured out that home is where the food is. But along with the cuteness comes the usual rescue scramble: figuring out how young he is, watching for health issues, setting up quarantine from the other cats, calling vets, monitoring litter box habits, and basically turning into a full-time kitten manager overnight.

It is hard not to like how much changed for him in a day or two. He went from stuck in a wall and crying for help to being fed, watched over, and fussed over. That is a pretty good turn for a tiny stray.

Oatmeal already sounds like he has the makings of a classic rescue success story. A rough start, a dramatic save, a huge appetite, and now a safe place to crash. Little man seems to have landed on his paws.

If being sleepy were a talent, cats would be overqualified. 

Cats will spend all morning doing almost nothing, get tired from that, and decide it's time for a recovery nap. Then they wake up, stretch for thirty seconds, and somehow need another nap. It's a schedule built entirely around rest, and honestly, they've got a point.

A sleepy cat will turn any spot into premium nap real estate. Laundry pile? Bed. Laptop keyboard? Bed. Freshly folded clothes you were about to put away? Luxury suite. They don't chase dreams, they chase deeper sleep. These little nap connoisseurs are out here treating every sunbeam like a reservation.

Took three steps to the food bowl? Exhausting. Watched a bird through the window? Time for a paws. Knocked a pen off the table? Better hit the meowtress. They move through life like they're one inconvenience away from calling it a day.

And the poses somehow make it even better. Curled into croissants, melted off the couch, face planted mid-doze like they powered down unexpectedly. Some cats don't look asleep, they look professionally committed to snoozing. If anyone understands the art of saying "just five more minutes" and turning it into two hours, it's cats. They're not lazy, they're purrfecting the nap game.

There are few things in this world as tiny, as soft, and as disproportionately powerful as a kitty paw. 

Seriously, how can something the size of a coin have the emotional impact of a full-blown therapy session? And yet, here we are, scrolling through photos of fuzzy toe beans like it's our full-time job.

Kitty paws are nature's way of saying, "Hey, take a break. You deserve a little joy." Whether they're tucked politely under a loafed body, stretched dramatically mid-nap, or reaching out like they're about to boop your soul, these little marvels never miss. There's an art to the paw. The fluff-to-bean ratio. The gentle curl. The occasional surprise stretch that feels like a personal invitation to relax your entire life.

There is one thing that motivates us more than anything in our lives, and that is… our cats. We go to work for them. We're excited to come back to them. They are our main meowtivators. 

It is true. And you can call us crazy cat people for this, but our cats really do motivate us so much. And not because cats are cute and wholesome, and we want to make them happy. Not really. It's because cats have standards, and they enforce them with an iron paw. A cat will refuse to eat anything but the food that it likes, and if that food costs more, then you better work harder, human. It will sit there, lazing about on our couch that we bought and make sure that we, as its servants, are good enough.

Really, cats are inspirational in all kinds of facets of life. We would like to be a lot more like them. And that starts with consuming more of that meowtivation, especially if it comes in the form of silly cat memes. When we are not home, when our pawdorable kitties are not within reach, we must do what we have to to remain connected to the cat spirit. 

Once a kid and a purrfect "raccoon" bond with one another, there is no way back. The parents must cave and adopt. 

Cats have a special bond with kids, we swear. They know, somehow, that these humans are different, that they are more fragile, that they require more patience. Sure, not every cat would be the purrfect babysitter, but a lot of them are. A lot of them see these tiny humans, and for some reason, bond with them faster and harder than any other human. 

Maybe it's the kids' innocence that they are attracted to. Maybe they understand that these tiny humans are more likely to adopt them than other humans. Because that is what seems to happen more often than not. The kids bring a kitten home, and the parents are left with no choice but to fall in love with said kitten. Today's story is another piece of proof of that. This kid didn't even know that he was bonding with a cat. He thought the kitty was a raccoon. And that raccoon stole his heart. And in the words of his mom: "He's since been corrected and pressured me into adopting it". She's not saying that grumpily either, she's just as in love with the kitty as her boy. 

Divorce is hard on everyone - and that includes the cats. 

Adopting a cat together is, in theory, a really great and wholesome idea. A way to bond over something mutual. A "baby" to raise together. Lots of couples do it when they are in love and happy and everything seems great. And if everything works out, then perfect. The kitty has two loving pawrents instead of just one. But it doesn't always work out. Sometimes, breakups happen. And those breakups happen to the cats too. 

When you split up your family - and that is what you become when you adopt a cat together - you cannot split the cat between the two parents. It's not a child. It can't do weekends in one house and weekdays in the other. Cats need stability, and cat people generally understand that. So that raises the question - who gets to keep the cat? 

In every case like this that we have seen so far, there is always a custody battle. Both owners want the cat, both owners are bonded with the cat, and to an extent, even if the cat is bonded to one owner more than the other, it's still bonded to both of them. What we have never seen is a case like the one today. Despite being one of the friendliest, cuddliest, sweetest cats that we have ever seen, neither of his owners wanted him. This cat was actually abandoned after his owners divorced, and honestly, we don't get it. We don't understand why they would adopt a cat in the first place if neither of them really wanted him. It's a good thing that actual good people exist in this world. 

The woman who decided to rescue this cat saved his life. Because he was lost. He didn't understand why he was abandoned by everyone, why he was left alone to fend for himself. All he wanted was a hug. And this woman gave that to him and more. He is now in a home where he is actually loved, unlike where he was before. So maybe we should say thank you to his previous owners. He's in a much better home now.

If cats could talk, half of it would be gossip.

Some cats chase toys. Some keep tabs on everybody's business. One little disagreement over a food bowl can turn into a feud that lasts all afternoon. A stolen nap spot becomes a personal attack. Someone hears the treat bag crinkle in another room, and suddenly rumors start moving fast.

Raising a cat is not a joke, even though it provides endless hilarious moments.

When you have a cat child for the first time, your life changes forever. It's a kind of responsibility that is hard to describe to anyone who has never raised a cat before. It's the realization that we're now responsible for a life so precious, so smol, so gentle. It's being a pawrent. Having this small life in our hands is a contract for life - at least for all the cat's nine lives - to make sure all the needs of this floofy creature are answered. This bonded cat couple first took care of their kittens, making sure they arrived inside the home that took care of them as strays visiting the porch. They're not the first cat parents who took care of the kittens first, but it's such a rare and wholesome sight that we have to share it with you all here. And the cat couple? Oh, they're definitely getting adopted as well.

Even through blind darkness, rain and the effervescent glow of street lights blurring his vision on a highway, this man saw two copper penny eyes glowing at him, and he stopped the car. 

 He lives in a rural, desolate town, the kind that you have to drive through baren nothingness just to get from home to a grocery store. It was a dark and stormy night, he could barely see the speed signs off the road, but he was bedazzled by an orange beauty. On top of her mother who sadly passed over the rainbow bridge was a little orange kitten. He politely scooped her up and took her home. 

Nearly midweek moodiness is inevitable, but not when you have meow-tiful meowers in feline form. Their whiskers are like a swinging pendulum, mesmerizing us with whimsical joy. 

Graceful like dripping dew off a blooming flower, the sky's eyes askew as the clouds block their vision with lambent halations eerie and isolated, a cat's whiskers pop out from behind a tree. Like a tiny philosopher, agog to explore the wonders of the earth, cats have an inherent curiosity akin to a wide-eyed child nascently experiencing the cycles of life. The fingers of your hand cast themselves out to touch and feel if what you're seeing is real. The unique enchantment of a cat's stare is esoteric and mystical, and they have a knack for mesmerizing us with their whimsy whiskered faces. 

Cats move through our homes like an illusion, a shadow slinking around and you never know where they're going to be next. Meow-tiful cats are like electrons that poof in and out of our existence, but they still hold an immense sense of love, joy, and softness for us to behold. Their sentiments hold us like a hug, their meowtiful beauty mesmerizes us into a state of hypnotized adoration, which is why we are so devoted to them. So enjoy this whiskerful collection of cats.

We all know by now that social media is addictive. It's literally designed to keep you interested for as long as pawssible, pushing those buttons in your brain that flood your system with dopamine to keep you scrolling until you can't anymore. Everyone has varying degrees of screen-tolerance, though. Our husband, fur example, can scroll for hours on end without a second thought. We get overwhelmed after a few minutes and have to put our phones down, but we think that most people struggle to break away from the dreaded "doom scroll".

There are various ways to get yourself to stop, like setting timers beforehand or using various apps that promise to interrupt you after a certain amount of time. But we're going to be honest, none of them really work for us. After a few times, we just end up uninstalling them because our desire to scroll is too strong. Until now.

A Japanese developer ZOKUZOKU built a viral Google Chrome extension that sends a chonky orange cat onto your screen if you scroll through social media for too long. The cat comes with a timer for you to get up and take a break, because you can't do anything with that immovable cat on your screen. 

If the goal was to get us to get up and go away, they shouldn't have made the cat so awwdorable. Now we just have another reason to stare at the screen…. but that doesn't mean we won't be downloading it.
