Neglected cat left to freeze outside by forgetful family over Christmas saved and adopted by cat loving neighbor who couldn’t let her suffer through winter temps alone, rescuer says: At this point I think we're in the clear and I just have a new cat.

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 11:15
Sometimes you have to survive the neglect of others in order to be seen by the right person and given the life you deserve.

At least that is the case for this story of cat abandonment and subsequent adoption from Reddit's r/Pets subreddit. Though it is a style of story that we often come across in the cat rescue space. Usually, these tales are a result of a family not being comfortable with having their cat in the house, so the cat is forced to live outside. However, with the cat obviously wanting to be an indoor cat, they usually hang around close to their home, seeking out opportunities to get inside to the place that they are meant to be.

And that is very much what happened in this story, with the added pressure of it being terribly cold around the holiday season. Thankfully though there was a cat loving hooman living nearby who saw the situation unfold and as soon as they deemed it necessary, they stepped in to save the day. And save it and the cat's life they sure did.

'It’s safe to say she has forgotten what it feels like to be scared and alone': Kitten inside bucket randomly appears on couple's driveway, they take her in and give her the home she deserves

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 09:45
Have you ever had a stray cat appear out of thin air? Well, the couple below has.

On Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, a man and his wife were afforded this little angel in a bucket. They say she appeared out of thin air, and she really did. The wife had just gotten home from work, and he met her outside to help carry her stuff in the house. They had just entered and were walking to the bedroom when they heard a high pitched noise. Barely been in the home for 2 minutes, and already going back outside to see what the commotion is. They went outside, and to the left of their bedroom window they see a black bucket covered in dirt and a poor little kitten huddled in the back, crying and frightened. They bring her inside, but it was late at night. There were no other cats around, and they examined the little girl.

They named her Missy. She's a young baby, and her first two weeks with the couple weren't the easiest, but they all managed. They took her to the vet, and she's all cared for. She's like a completely different kitten after only two weeks with the couple, and here at I Can Has Cheezburger, we're always happy to hear about a story with a kitten that's saved. Her favorite things include napping, playing with shoes, lying in boxes, dangling clothes, and making her little kitten noises. Read below for all the wholesome details.

Man rescues a lone roadside kitten, then returns the next day with a search party to find his siblings: 'The whole litter basically got a second chance thanks to one person stopping to help.'

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 08:00
Sometimes it takes just one person noticing to save a whole litter of kittens.

We all like to think of ourselves as very good people, kind and compassionate. But when it comes to the test, there are really only a few heroes who step up to this conceived ideal. And this one person not only adopted the abandoned kitten he found, but as he told on the r/CatDistributionSystem
sub Reddit, he organized a whole search party made of his family and friends to save even more kittens. That's a hero in our books. Our very cat-loving books.

As any regular person who reads this, we ask ourselves, "Would I do the same?" And we'd like to believe that yes, we would. But thinking like this is just the normal human response. This is how we psychologically perceive ourselves. Would you do it? Would you adopt a kitten in need, even if you had already had a house full of pets and a cat-skeptic girlfriend? Would you go out of your way to search for the rest of the kittens, and rally people you know for the cause?

These are questions that no one can honestly answer about themselves. But we have one example of a hero to aspire to be. A hero who saved a kitten, and then saved the entire litter.

33 Meowing Memes for Fluffheads Who Love Cats

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 07:15
Who could ever not love cats?

Seriously, who could ever hate cats? We even know many people who are literally allergic to cats, but still love them dearly. They cry from being sad they can't have a cat, while also crying from the allergies (really, it's rough). We also know allergic people who put their entire face into a cat's belly and inhale - they call it exposure therapy. But we digress. We only mean to say that cats are universally loved, even by people whose very bodies reject them.

In this online house we love cats to bits. If it wasn't clear up until this point that I Can Has Cheezburger is the place for cat lovers, we make this point once more. But we know, somewhere in the back of our minds, that there are people out there who don't even like cats. Now, we live in this ICHC bubble, that it seems absurd to us. These people are obviously wrong. All of us and our twenty cats disagree very hard.

So we're here to focus on our people - the people who love cats. The casual cat content coneisseirs, the fanatic feline fans, and even the crazy cat ladies. All are always welcome under our cat-loving online roof. We're all one, big online feline family that constantly share their love for cats through cat memes and wholesome cat stories. Because, honestly, that's the best.

29 Meowgnificent Memes of Manipulative Meowsters Running Their Pawrents’ Lives

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 06:30
Pawrents never realize how manipulated they are until they are opening a second dinner at midnight.

Cats are unbelievably good at manipulating their pawrents. A cat can finish an entire bowl of food, walk away for five minutes, then come back acting like they haven't eatenin days. Suddenly they are meowing dramatically, rubbing against legs, and staring up with giant innocent eyes until somebody caves and opens another can.

Cats also know exactly when to turn the cuteness up to dangerous levels. The second they are told "no," they start acting adorable on purpose. Tiny chirps, slow blinks, little paw taps, flopping onto the floor like life has become unbearable. Pawrents never stand a chance against that kind of emotional purripulation.

Then there is the bedtime strategy. Cats ignore people all day long, but the second somebody needs to get up or finish work, suddenly the cat becomes the cuddliest creature alive. Now there is a sleeping cat on the lap, purring loudly, making everybody feel guilty for even thinking about moving.

Some cats fully train their humans too. Different meows somehow end up meaning different commands. One for treats. One for opening doors. One for attention immediately. Before long, the pawrents are waking up at specific times for feeding schedules they never agreed to in the first place.

Cats really act like tiny fluffy masterminds running the entire house through guilt, drama, and weaponized cuteness.

'Went to the car wash, came home with a kitten': Driver trying to help a scared kitten hiding underneath their truck during a Saturday errand run unexpectedly gains a new furry best friend

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 05:45
This kitten treated the underside of a truck like his personal Uber ride into a forever home.

A normal Saturday coffee and car wash run quickly turned into a classic Reddit r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit story after a tiny kitten climbed into somebody's truck and refused to leave.

While waiting in line at the car wash, workers spotted a scared little kitten trying to stay out of the road. The kitten ran under the truck and somehow crawled up inside part of the vehicle near the rear wheel. After a long attempt to coax him out at the car wash, the rescue mission moved over to a nearby Discount Tire where employees immediately stepped in to help.

The Discount Tire workers seriously deserve a shoutout too. They pulled the truck into the bay, removed panels underneath to safely reach the kitten, dried him off with paper towels, and even brought him water. Tiny kittens somehow have a way of turning complete strangers into a full rescue team within minutes.

After that came a vet visit and a mostly clean bill of health for the little guy. By the time they asked whether the kitten had a name yet, the answer was already obvious. Naming him Rivian after the truck he climbed into is honestly perfect.

One second this kitten was hiding inside a truck at a car wash, and the next he had a name, a vet appointment, supplies waiting at home, and a whole new family. Rivi really picked the right truck that morning.

‘Guys please don’t let this be more popular than my rocket photos’: Gregory the grumpy cat steals the spotlight from his hooman’s ameowzing astrophotography with just one post on X

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 03:15
It's never the things that you want to go viral that actually go viral. It's always the silly, random ones that you don't care about. And, of course, pictures of your cat.

Imagine devoting your life to learning astrophotography and spending thousands of dollars on expensive camera equipment to photograph the sun, rocket launches, and distant stars. The dedication. The fine-tuning. All of that, only for your purrfectly grumpy orange cat, Gregory, to become the most trending topic on his pawrent's X page instead of your purrfessional photography. It's so ironic that you just have to laugh.

Cat Distribution System strikes unsuspecting dog lover, delivering a surprise kitten to his doorstep in the middle of the night: 'What do I do?'

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 13:45
What do you do when you find a helpless kitten in the street?

This man's first stop was a Reddit subcommunity called r/CatDistributionSystem, where he sought the expertise and cat-loving knowledge from around the world. With this knowledge and understanding, he had an arsenal of advice at his back, guiding the first few wobbly nights with his new, fluffy best friend.

When a cat cries, we must answer.

As a society, humans are morally obligated (or should I say, 'meowrally' obligated), to respond to the calls of a kitten. No matter how inconvenient the timing or location, the cry of a kitten is undeniable. In these moments of pure instinct, cat lovers, or potential cat lovers, realize the magic and pure joy of cat ownership.

Although no human being will ever understand every nuance of befriending a feline, the benefits are undeniable. Cats bring a sort of peace to our lives. Despite their cuckoo nature, their midnight zoomies, and their seemingly constant need for attention, cats bring an unknown level of well-adjusted wonderment to a human's life.

Alas, it's in the kitty chaos that we find eternal peace.

This man thought that he was a dog lover, but when he came face to face with the glory of feline empowerment, he couldn't refuse. She was sassy, she was sleek, and she was dropped on his doorstep in the middle of the night. How could a dog lover refuse the power of a cat's aura? Exactly, he couldn't.

23 Purrfect Cat Memes Stuffed With Freshly Baked Feline Foolishness for Pawrents Running on Meows Alone

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 12:30
Why do cats somehow make every single day better?

There's just something magical about cats and their ability to turn complete nonsense into an art form. One second, they're peacefully loafing in a sunbeam like tiny furry angels, and the next, they're screaming at a wall, falling off a chair, or demanding food they already ignored twice. Honestly, life would be far less entertaining without their dramatic personalities and oddly specific emotional support talents. These feline goofballs somehow manage to be chaotic, adorable, judgmental, affectionate, and deeply weird all at once, which is exactly why the internet keeps lovingly revolving around them one meow-filled meme at a time.

Cat owner claims popular feline food brand quietly changed their formula, causing their allergic kitty to have a severe reaction: ‘The food is visibly different’

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 12:00
Not even the Great Wall of China could stop us from uncovering the reason why our cat needed an unexpected visit to the vet, especially if we thought we were being lied to.

Cat allergies are no joke. We're not talking about the hoomans with a sneezing problem, we're talking about cats with legitimate food allergies, like beef, fish, chicken, or sometimes even lamb or rabbit. When their cat had an allergic reaction to the same food they've been buying for years, our pawrent complained to their (very widely known) feline food brand and demanded to know why their "non-chicken" food all of a sudden had chicken in it. The company answered them, but as soon as they demanded compensation, the company ghosted them.

The pawrent in Reddit's r/Pets subreddit did some research and found that they did change some formulas in 2019, but not their package of whitefish food. And yet, their cat still had an episode which caused them to be rushed to the vet because of an extreme allergy… to chicken. No one can explain it, but something here seems fishy, and it's not just the cat food.

37 Feline Funnies for the Cattest of Cat People

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 11:15
Do you ever feel you become more like your cat as time goes on?

Cats are affecting every aspect of our lives, and we become more similar to our cats as a result. Think about it, you might've had the best ideas for activities during Saturday, but then you adopted a cat and every Saturday becomes a Caturday - the day to rest with your cat and spend some quality cat time with them. And in doing so, while your cat rests on your chest, purring like a tiny tractor, you almost become infused with each other. And you notice this not just because your cat is literally glued to you, but because you start adopting your cat's behaviors.

Your cat can sleep a bajillion hours in a day, and then you feel the need to nap even harder than usual. You had a normal amount of energy, but now you feel the zoomies bursts, just like your cat gets at 4 AM. You were eating okay, but now you want to snack all the time (the next step is to meow every time you want a snack). It's yet another piece of evidence for how strong the cat-human bond is.

First-time cat owner asks for advice on walking her kitten on a leash, the comment section turns into the most comprehensive beginner's guide that might change how you think about it

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 10:30
As cat people, we have the best source of cat information possible - we have each other.

Let's say you need advice on how to take care of a litter of kittens you've found abandoned in a back alley. You can whip your phone out and send the cat people equivalent of a bat signal in the form of a question to the online feline family, and someone will answer you, in detail, about everything you should (and shouldn't) do. That's the raw power of cat people worldwide - we come with so many levels of experience and knowledge, and we're all up and ready to help cats everywhere.

Is your cat sporting a special kind of feline fur and you have to know what's going on? The cat people online will have an answer. Are you a first-time cat pawrent and need a beginner's guide on "how to cat"? Literally every cat person would want to help you become the best cat parent that you can become. Or, in this case, do you want advice on how to train your cat to go on leash walks? The worldwide cat community got your back. They'll walk you through all the steps, like a leash walk through the park, to make sure both you and your cat are happy.

But when it comes to specifically leashed walks, there might be varying opinions. Like many topics, to be fair. But one pawrent paved the way for cat leash walking experts to put everything in perspective - in ways that even we didn't know about. We're really tempted to try all these new methods with our own cats (who are mostly indoor kings at this point). We're sure these suggestions will be put to good use with this Reddit user on r/adventurecats.

Brazen orange cat jumps in woman's office window, she asks her son if he wants a cat despite him getting over one, he accepts the CDS's timely gift

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 09:45
Orange cats, what can we say about them? They're weird for sure, and Walt here is no different.

It was the beginning of May. A stray decided to jump in a woman's office window while she was working, and this friendly cat made the front page of Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem. The woman suspected that the cat is 1. too friendly for the outdoors, and 2. was abandoned by an owner who either moved away or couldn't have him anymore. He didn't seem like a strictly outdoor cat. She took him to the vet, and eventually asked her adult son if he wanted a cat. The son had recently lost his soul cat, and still not over it. But he trusted the cat distribution system. He knew that when he's called to care for a sweet boy he must do it. He's in the apartment, he's named Walt, and he's already winning over the owner!

Tiny kitten trapped under storm drain, woman hears yelps and firefighters come to the rescue: 'Can't wait to enjoy this handsome little guy for the rest of his life'

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 08:00
It's never a good time to be trapped under a storm drain…

This woman was on her way to work one morning when she reported in Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem about hearing tiny yelps coming from beneath a storm drain. She immediately called the non emergency number and police showed up. They couldn't help, so they called the fire department and lo and behold, the little guy was saved! It took them time because the drains are really heavy to lift. The little guy spent the rest of the day in Target with everyone until she got off. She even took his photo and put it on their "trainer" wall at work. She named him Bullseye, after the indelible icon from the store. They went to the vet together, and despite an eye infection he's completely healthy.

It just goes to show that if you hear something that doesn't sound right, to follow your instincts.

25 Cuddling Cats for a Calming Kick-Off to the Working Day

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 07:15

It's true, work does some pretty crazy things to our minds and stability. Thankfully there are a variety of ways we can proactively treat this incoming stress. Most of these ways revolve around cats, whether it is reading cute cat stories, scrolling hilarious cat memes, or as is in this case perusing a collection of cuddling cats to get yourself set up for the day with a calming work day kick off.

Feral feline found under rescuer’s bed surprises new pawrents by giving birth to 3 cute kittens in her new furever home and quickly leaving her pawrents to care for her litter, cat mom says: ‘Both Mama and babies are doing wonderfully!’

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 06:30
When a cat chooses you to pet it the sensation of being chosen is overwhelming, so we can only imagine what it like to be chosen to be a cat's home and birthing suite.

But that is exactly what this story's cat mom of three got to expeirence when her soon to be fourth cat waltzed thorugh her door and promptly set up camp under her bed. And as any good cat lover can tell you, occurances like this are rare. So rare in fact that they have no specifc name, even tohught they are rather different from the typical cat found by a dumpster story that the Cat Distribution System likes to use.

For in this case it is not a hooman trying to convince a scared cat to come to them for comofrt and help. If anything it is the complete opposite as the cat chose the hoomans, and most certainly did not ask any questions, not to mention that it ended up being more than just a single cat, but in total 4 cats including three babies and momma. We can only imagine the heart swelling this hooman must have felt when she realized how speical her situation was. Thank goodness she had the grand idea to share her story with us all on Reddit's r/notmycat subreddit.

30 Entertaining Pictures of Paranormal Purrballs Staring Suspiciously at Absolutely Nothing

Wed, 05/27/2026 - 05:45
Nothing spikes your anxiety faster than a cat suddenly staring at one empty corner of the room like it just saw something move.

Cats staring at walls instantly changes the mood in an entire room. One second everything feels normal, and the next your cat is frozen in place staring intensely at absolutely nothing like they just detected supernatural activity behind the drywall. Naturally, every human nearby immediately starts staring at the wall too because there is no chance anybody is ignoring that behavior.

Cats get so locked in during these moments too. Ears twitching, giant eyes, tiny head turns like they are tracking something invisible crawling across the ceiling. Sometimes they even slowly creep toward the wall like little furry detectives investigating a crime scene. Meanwhile there is absolutely nothing there that humans can see.

The late-night wall staring sessions are always the most unsettling too. Nothing feels peaceful at 2 AM when a cat suddenly sits upright at the foot of the bed and stares silently into a dark corner for fifteen straight minutes. Cats somehow make plain empty walls feel deeply suspicious.

Then, just as everybody becomes fully convinced the apartment is haunted, the cat randomly loses interest and walks away to go eat kibble or nap in a sun spot. No explanation. No follow-up investigation. The wall apparently returns to being irrelevant until the next random staring session begins.

Cats really love reminding humans that they operate on an entirely different wavelength from the rest of us.
