33 Wholesome Feline Funnies With Absolutely No Hidden Commentary Whatsoever

LOL Cats - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 07:15
Who would have thought that something so purrre and wholesome, so fluffy and comforting, could pawssibly be hiding something so… spicy?

Living with cats is the ultimate dichotomy. They are both cute, comfy, and adorable to look at, but they are still tiny, extremely efficient predators that we let live in our houses. Depending on your cat's attitude or zoomies' level, no toes, ankles, hands, or piece of furniture is safe. They can also be incredibly sensitive and supportive… and also the most judgmental animal we know. And these things are purrcisely what make them the purrfect vehicle for our hissterically silly feline funnies below.

Cats can look at you after scratching the living daylights out of your hand with a smile, so much that you think that their smile might have some sort of devilish meaning behind it (even though it looks as cute as can be). They'll stare at you the whole time while doing the exact thing you told them not to, and look proud while doing it. It annoys us to no end, but it's also why we love them.

All these furbulously funny cat memes are of felines that have absolutely no hidden commentary whatsoever. None. Just like how your cat doesn't secretly enjoy jumping on the counter even after you put aluminum foil up. Or when they try to steal food right off your plate and then try to charm you with cuteness after.

(Yeah, right.)

Guest comes into a hotel with a reservation under his wife's name and complains he cannot access the suite without her, treats front desk employee poorly even though he's in the wrong: 'But we're married!'

Fail Blog - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 06:45
Why is someone's poor planning the fault of an employee who is just doing their job?

It is so common to see customers at the front desk of a hotel complaining about something not being corrected when they are the ones who booked it that way. This attitude is not only seen there, but also with cabin crews in planes and servers at restaurants. Is like a type of people that cannot admit that they did something wrong. They always find a way to blame it on the poor employee who is just doing their job. What makes it worse is the fact that managers and higher-ups defend the customer, knowing that they are wrong, just to preserve an image. If you asked me, I would say that defending a wrong customer over your loyal employees is not the best image for your company. You are taking the world of someone who is SO wrong that they need to start screaming so that people don't realize that what they are saying makes no sense at all.

This rule of "the customer is always right" is so outdated and problematic. The customer is wrong 90% of the time because –shocking for some– employees know their job. If they are telling you that something is not possible, big chances are that it isn't possible. And if they do an exception for one customer, it doesn't mean that now it is possible. It just means that the childlike tantrum the customer caused made the manager step in. But you shouldn't be proud of yourself if you got something because you were behaving horribly and made a scene, and the company just HAD TO to avoid looking bad. That makes you a horrible customer and an embarrassing adult.

In this Reddit story, we are just proven that this attitude may not always work, and that is VALUABLE. Customers need to know that they are out of line and that their requests are not always manageable. If you planned poorly and things don't work as they should, well, deal with it. You are an adult. You cannot be throwing tantrums over things that don't work your way.

Neighbor's cat picks a new house, a new human, and refuses to go back, leaving the woman who never wanted a cat completely smitten and her neighbor completely furious: 'My neighbor stares daggers at me now.'

LOL Cats - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 06:30
When the cat's best is what leads your decision-making process, you might just realize you need to step on some human toes.

When we look at cat adoptions, in the end, it's the cat that chooses the human, and not the other way around. They're usually sent by the Cat Distribution System to the right person who would give them warmth, love, and a safe place they can call home. It might be "the right cat at the right time" sort of situation, but it might also be a cat who simply decided they're adopted, coming into your life with a fully-blown "I live here now, you're a cat pawrent" attitude. That's such a classic cat adoption trope, because it happens again and again. But… what happens if a cat chooses you, but they already belong to someone else?

This is the difficult situation that u/cagethehornytoad have to deal with now. "Not a cat person", in their definition, but definitely this cat's person. The love this cat has for this human is great, and the love she receives back is right there on the same level. There's just one little problem. This cat is the neighbor's cat. She was adopted, how many moons ago, from whichever place, by someone else. This someone else, though, isn't happy with the situation.

To be honest, we wouldn't be happy either if that happened to us. Who wants their cat to choose someone else over them? No one. In a previous apartment we've lived in, we had a very close balcony with the neighbor, who raised two cat brothers. Our adventurous cat loved to hop over and play with them (=enacting a reign of terror, showing them who's the real queen of the building), and the neighboring cat mom loved her. But our cat knew, with a full heart, that she gets so much love and affection back at home, in our apartment - and that this is where she belonged.

But in this case? Well, we have a cat who doesn't want to go back home at all. What happens to her back there, we can't really know until u/cagethehornytoad updates us. But what's for sure at this point - the cat seems to be moving herself, willingly, in her own accord, to a new and loving place. The original cat owner doesn't like it one bit. She asks the cat to be removed completely from this "new place" she chose. But cats? Cats do what they want.

Caturday Cuteness Made of 30 Meowing Memes for Cat People

LOL Cats - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 05:45
Let's cute-up this Saturday, cat-style!

When we say we're here for a Caturday, we mean business. Not like work-business, because it's the weekend, after all. But we mean it more like "We take Caturday very seriously, and so does our cat. And whatever our cat cares about, we care about. Yes, even if it's a random bird outside the window - we care about it because our cat cares about it." So, let's make this Saturday a Caturday - just as ceiling cat intended.

But what makes a Saturday so different from a Caturday? Well, that depends on the amount of cute cats you surround yourself with. First of all, let's start with your own cute cat, probably sitting on your lap as you're reading this, purring like a small diesel engine that needs oil replacement. Adorable. Secondly, there are an endless amount of cute cat memes you can look at and laugh at, to get the silly and funny cat vibe all around you. That's a sure way of turning any regular Saturday into a Caturday.

Now that we've got all that covered, it's time to actually dive into some cute cat content. What, you thought we were about to just leave you with the Caturday PSA? Nope, we're about way more than that here. That's why every week we bring you the best cat memes we could find. We love a good Caturday here at I Can Has Cheezburger, and we honestly hope all cat people reading this will have a good one as well.

Employee gets laid off without notice, and when he says he already has a new job, he gets asked if he was going to give proper notice: ‘You just told me my role is done by Friday, and you're asking me about proper notice.’

Fail Blog - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 05:00
Corporations and their unfair double standards and pretentiousness over their employees.

You are happy you got a new job that is way better than the current one, decides that you are going to tell them on Friday and end your relationship with the company completely. On Wednesday your at the office, minding your business, doing your job, when your boss comes over to your desk to tell you that the company will not be needing the position you're filling any longer. Not only are they getting rid of you, but of the whole position. You take it calmly and simply respond that everything is fine, you already have a new job waiting for you, and that you were going to tell them on Friday. Instead of a normal response from your manager, you get hit with "Well, I hope you were planning to give proper notice." WHAT? This is what happened to a user who told his story on Reddit

This person just told you that you are done with the company, starting Friday, but he thinks you should give very advanced notice before leaving your job. Where does that double standard come from? They are doing a two-day notice, and you were supposed to give a two-week notice. How is that fair? The company just loses an employee –that they don't even need anymore– you completely loose you income and put your career in stand by till you can find something new. They aren't really having a problem with you leaving. The problem is that they can no longer control you.

I'm tired of this double standard used to control employees, even when they are already done with them. They can be leaving you and your family without the income that feeds, dresses, and maintains your house from one day to another, without one second thought going through their mind, but you have to be mindful of the company and always think of them before you make any decisions. This just proves the corporate world has gone too far. They don't treat employees like people anymore.

Woman changes her sister's 73rd birthday dinner to a Thai restaurant she prefers, leaving the guest of honor waiting alone at the wrong restaurant: 'If I’m paying for a meal, I want to enjoy it'

Fail Blog - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 04:15
If you're the birthday girl, you deserve to eat at the restaurant you want. It's not your sister's call, it's yours. Why does this family follow what the sister says instead of the birthday girl's wish? We don't know.

There must be something else going on between these sisters. The sister knew exactly which restaurant the birthday woman wanted to visit, but she didn't want to eat there just because she disliked the food. And that was reasonable enough to change the restaurant as she pleased. What is worse, she expected everyone to adapt, and left the poor aunt sitting alone waiting at the original restaurant. Who would do such a thing? Why would the family follow her instructions rather than the birthday woman's? Birthdays are about the person being celebrated, not the organizer. The aunt's choice should have been respected.

Birthdays are supposed to be a day when people show you love and make you feel seen. Well, this sister did exactly the opposite. I think the issue isn't about the sister disliking Thai food. She also said that she wasn't paying for food she dislikes, but she didn't actually pay for the aunt's meal, which makes her argument so absurd and selfish that it makes me think it's not about the money either. Even her daughter called her out, but instead of apologizing, she doubled down and said she didn't care.

If you're organizing someone's birthday dinner, the least you can do is let them pick the restaurant. Otherwise, you're celebrating a dinner for yourself and calling it their birthday. You can go to the restaurant you prefer anytime you want, but on someone's birthday, that day is supposed to be about them, not about you.

'Orange Behavior': 22 Orange Cat Memes Featuring Silly Felines With One Shared Brain Cell

LOL Cats - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 04:00
No thoughts. Just orange. That might be the life motto of every orange cat. There's something special about ginger felines. They've become the personification of one-brain-cell energy, silly behavior, chaotic zoomies, and questionable decisions. These fluffy orange troublemakers are definitely any cat owner's best companion. They have the perfect amount of silliness, affection, and cuddliness, and there's no doubt they make any household better.

These ginger cats are here to bless your feed with their silliness and their natural state of confusion. We all know orange cats have a well-earned reputation for being a little ridiculous, don't we? Well, they don't seem interested in proving it wrong.

Living with an orange cat means accepting that logic doesn't always apply. You won't understand why they do the things they do, but you will learn to respect their process. Their disasters are all part of the charm. Maybe there is a method to the madness. Or maybe there is no method at all. It could be the brain cell didn't arrive on time. Either way, these orange cat memes are for humans who love their silly gingers just the way they are. Because if you have an orange cat, you know life may not always be peaceful, but it will never be boring.

An orange will complain about a closed door, demand that you open it, and then decide they never wanted to go through it in the first place. They will sprint through the house for no reason. They will drag toilet paper across the living room like it's their mission. That is classic orange behavior.

If orange cats were not already hilarious just for existing, then orange cat memes came along and made their charm even better. Are you ready to see some orange cat energy in meme form? Scroll down for a dose of humor featuring the lovable face of silly behavior. And maximum cuteness as well.

'What came first, the crazy or the cat?': Memes for concerned cats with concerned cat parents just trying to cuddle

LOL Cats - Sat, 06/27/2026 - 03:15
It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your cats are?

Remember those PSA on TV back in the early 2000s? That's back when parents would let us kids run wild until the streetlights turned on. Now, most of those kids have grown up and have started a family of their own. A fur family, that is! That's right, sorry boomer mom, we're raising dogs and cats now! As a cat mom, I keep mine indoors. I live in the city, so it's the best and safest option, so I don't have to call for them once the streetlights turn on. However, that doesn't mean I don't have moments where I have no idea where they are. They are expert hiders!

They could be under the couch or in the couch. They could be under the bed or in the bed. They could be behind the TV, in the cupboard, on the top of the bookshelf! Like, actually, they could be anywhere. So, when 10 o'clock rolls around, when all I wanna do is get ready for bed and cuddle with my kitty, I'm still thinking about that PSA for parents back in the early aughts. You're right… Where are my children?! My cat children, that is. And I know they are in here somewhere, but unless I get the wet food out, they do not care about how worried I am looking for them.

When I finally find them, they look at me like I'm the crazy one. With their cute little concerned head tilt. My sweet feline daughter, YOU are my concern. Where the hecko have you meowin' been?? The streelights have been on for hours! Mama's gonna have to scroll through memes about this.

'It's Friday, do you know where your employees are?': A beautiful half-day of "Summer Friday" memes to wrap up the work week

Fail Blog - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 16:15
Are you ready for summer Fridays at work?

If you are lucky enough to get this little thing called "Summer Fridays" at work, then bravo! That is an iconic work move. In fact, I would argue that that's what will boost productivity and enhance teamwork. If you don't know what that is, it is when you are allowed to leave work early on Fridays during the entire summer. Why? Because some bosses aren't monsters and they want you to enjoy the beautiful weather while you can, instead of keeping you locked up in a cold and dark office building all day. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, remember? Nothing is worse than staring out the window from your desk daydreaming all day about how you could be having a picnic or be lounging by the pool. Obviously, you're not going to get any work done if that just stays a dream. But if you are allowed to go enjoy your summer days and live out those daydreams, then you will work harder and faster so you can achieve those dreams sooner.

Are you scrolling through these memes on a Friday when you have Summer Fridays? Well, heck, get back to work so you can finish up and gtfo out of that dang office. Are you scrolling through these memes during any other day of the work week? Well, then, proceed. We always encourage memeing on the company's dime.

Oh man, when that sunlight kisses your skin, and that warm breeze goes through your hair, you start to wonder why you even live in a capitalistic society. I mean, I wonder that every day I wake up grumpy to an annoying alarm… But the sun makes all my worries sizzle away. And if you get me on a sandy beach? I'm cured, bestie! I'm cured. You're going to get the best employee you have ever done seen.

Let's meme until we are able to get out and enjoy the sun. Wanting to go to the beach or play some kickball with your friends should be acceptable excuses to call out of work, imo. Until then, say it with me: we meme on the company's dime!

Introvert Cats Who've Mastered the Art of Purrtecting Their Peace

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 16:00
Somewhere out there, a cat is ignoring everyone and having the best day of its life.

Not everyone hears "big plans this weekend" and gets excited. For some people, the ideal day involves a cozy blanket, a favorite snack, a good book, a comfort show, and as little unnecessary socializing as possible. If that sounds familiar, then cats may be the most purrfect animals on the planet.

Cats have never been afraid to embrace their inner introvert. While other pets are often ready to greet every visitor, join every activity, and investigate every bit of excitement, cats tend to take a more measured approach. They'll socialize on their own terms, thank you very much. If they're in the mood for attention, they'll let you know. If they're not, they'll be unavailable for comment from beneath the bed, behind the couch, or inside a cardboard box.

Cats don't feel pressured to attend every gathering, make small talk, or explain why they need a little alone time. They simply find a cozy corner and enjoy their own company. In a world that constantly encourages people to do more, go more places, and stay busier than ever, cats remain committed to a slower pace of life.

Of course, even the most introverted cats usually make exceptions for a trusted human, a warm lap, or the sound of treats being opened. Everyone has their priorities. For those who believe a quiet night at home is time well spent, these cats are living proof that staying in can be just as rewarding as going out. Sometimes the best plans involve a little peace, a lot of comfort, and enough purring to drown out the rest of the world.

After a family spent nearly a year hoping for a pet, a friendly stray cat shows up on their porch and wins over the dad who insisted she wasn't coming inside

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 15:15
The husband said no, but the cat never got the memo.

For nearly a year, one family had been asking for a pet. The kid wanted one. Mom wanted one. Dad, on the other hand, wasn't exactly on board. Then a friendly stray cat showed up on their porch and, according to the rules of Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit, the decision may have already been made for them.

The cat didn't arrive acting shy or cautious. She walked right up and made herself comfortable. While the husband insisted she wasn't coming inside, he also happened to leave the porch door open. Whether that was an accident or not remains up for debate. Either way, the cat took full advantage of the opportunity. Before long, she had won over both him and the their son.

The timing feels almost too perfect. After months of asking for a pet, a cat suddenly appears out of nowhere and immediately starts fitting into family life. It's easy to see why so many people joke that the Cat Distribution System always knows where it's sending its next assignment.

There are still a few questions to answer. The cat is on the skinny side and has some old scars on her head and neck, though they appear fully healed. Her coat is in great shape and there are no obvious signs of fleas, but a vet visit is next on the agenda to make sure she's healthy and to see if anyone might be looking for her.

For now, though, she's already making herself at home. The family is still searching for the perfect name, but judging by how quickly she charmed everyone, she probably won't have to wait long before becoming an official member of the household.

26 Friday Felines of Hearty Humor to Fluff Up Your Cat Weekend

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 14:30
Holy fluff, it's nearly the weekend!

Get ready, fellow feline fanatics and general cat lovers - the weekend is coming this evening, and we have to be ready. Ready for what, you might ask? Well, for a fully-fledged feline weekend, of course! Quickly, the purrrrrrreparations must be done hastily, without wasting time. Not wasting the time of our cats, obviously. A cat's time is sacred, and if we waste our cat's time by not being prepared for this upcoming cat weekend, the cat is going to be all "Off with their heads!" Queen of Hearts style. But it'll be more like "Meow meow meow! [scratching generally]", and we don't want that.

Now that it's all clear, it's time to actually prepare. With your hands - be ready to pet, belly rub (the exact amount your cat allows, no more and no less), and hold a yummy treat while your cat mlems it. With your feet - be ready to fetch said yummy treats, run after your cat if they want to play hide and seek around the house, or go on leashed walks if they're ready. With your eyes - be ready to slow blink, look for the bug they lost in the ceiling, and watch the dog so that it doesn't even go near your cat this weekend.

You're all prepared for your cat, but what about you preparing for this full cat weekend? There's a way, don't say we're not prepared to guide you through it. It's time to get into the cat vibe, even before you arrive home from this long workweek that's finally about to be over. For that to happen, you need some silly cat content, to mentally breathe in all these cat vibes right into your brain. Syphon the cat energy from these silly cat memes, and you'll be alright. Your cat will thank you.

Call center operator obliged to start 15 minutes before his shift to load the company's archaic software, told to work until 4:00 PM on the dot, he complies, ending a call right at the end of his shift: 'I am following expectations and written directions'

Fail Blog - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 14:15
As if call center operators didn't have it hard enough already…

Call centers are really awful places that most employees try to avoid when looking for a job, but sometimes you have to resort to them anyway. Some pay pretty good money, others allow you to work only 4 to 6 hours, and some others aren't really that bad because you don't have to deal with problematic customers. Whether your job is in the service industry or in another one, we all agree that something really important to check when choosing a job is the work environment. Unfortunately, most times you are only able to discover it after working in the company for a while.

Woman shares how she became a mom to three blind feline friends, and how they prove missing sight never prevents them from being the cattest of cats

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 13:45
Cats will always be cats, no matter what.

When we hear a cat is missing something - a tail, a leg, or a patch of fur - the initial thought that springs to mind is "Oh, poor baby, they must feel so different from other cats around them." And while it might be true to some degree (maybe, we're not veterinary experts that can actually comment on this complicated situation of a cat's psyche), what we usually see is that these cats act as you avarage cat in any other circumstances.

We see a tailless cat jumping and balancing themselves in the middle of a play pounce as if their phantom tail is guiding them. We see cats who are missing legs running as fast as any four-legged feline, and even faster when they're on the power of zoomies. We see cats who are missing some fur patches walk with the confidence that every balding man lacks. Cats are cats are cats, and will always be cats, no matter the cards life has dealt them. And honestly? It's so inspirational.

And one cat mom, who goes by the name of @dear.figg on TikTok, knows - even blindness can't stop cats from being the cattest of cats. She has not one, not two, but three cats with no eyes. It's already a crazy cat situation, but she has very good explanations as to how she got to this stage in her life. We're not sure how many more people, planet-wide, can confess to having the same situation at home. Because raising three blind cats is not a picnic in the park. It requires a lot of time, dedication, patience, and love. But as you'll see down below, this love is returned from the cats tenfold. We're sure it's worth it.

Employee finds out his anonymous feedback was never anonymous and is being called to have a personal meeting with the manager: 'It turned upside down when my manager called me out in front of the entire team and mocked about the review i gave'

Fail Blog - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 13:00
When anonymity turns to exposure

I just found out there is a rarely used literal antonym for anonymity, it's nonymity, which means 'with a name', of course. So, what this company conducted was probably a 'nonymous' survey, only they forgot to disclose that. I've had the temptation to be really honest in one or two of those surveys, but I always held back because there weren't many people being surveyed, and it would be really easy to discover who wrote what. Of course, it would all be perfect if we trusted that the people reading the surveys had the emotional capacity to integrate criticism, and stop wasting their time trying to decipher who criticised them, but that's not how it works. It's just like personal criticism; sometimes we get defensive, attacking where it's coming from. There was something to be said here about doing something to a messenger, right? Still, companies should at least try to keep matters formal and not outright reveal that they broke the anonymity contract; they should, but they clearly don't always do.

‘Snack time!’: 22 Hungry cat memes for humans who never get to eat alone

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 12:30
Our favorite feline food supervisors never miss a bite. It isn't really snack time until you unwrap a bag of snacks and your cat starts asking for your food. No, you'll never eat alone as long as you're living in their house. You have to share it with them. They're hungry. Possibly starving, even if you filled their bowl a few minutes ago. Scroll down for some food-obsessed cat memes proving mealtime is a shared snack ritual with your cat.

Hey there, you got any snackie snacks? I better not find out it's snack time and you forgot to invite me, hooman. I heard that wrapper crinkle from the other room. I live here too. I also have nostrils; I can smell it. If you were planning to enjoy it without my feline approval, then you were wrong. Please share. Thank you.

Your cat could be napping all day, lying under the warmest ray of sunshine, with no intention of moving at all, until you open a bag of chips or unwrap a sandwich. Not to mention if you open a can of tuna. They would go crazy. Suddenly, they are wide awake and standing next to you, rubbing against your legs and meowing to get your attention.

Snack time wouldn't be the same without their little faces next to us. They may stare at us, place a gentle paw on the table, and act like they haven't eaten in twenty years, but you know they're there for some quality control. Yes, they're food quality testers you never hired, but they're committed to their job. And we respect their dedication. They don't even need to know what you're eating. The funniest part is that you could be having something they would reject if you offered it to them, but they would be offended if you didn't let them say no. They just want to be included. And that's so sweet, don't you think? Sharing your meal with a fluffy companion is part of life in a cat owner's home.

26-year-old woman wonders how to successfully terminate a friendship after she got too demanding: 'Expecting to be chosen over other friends / my boyfriend, always needing to plan our next meet up asap'

Fail Blog - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 12:15
The proper time to French leave

Having a friendship with a healthy dynamic doesn't come naturally for all of us. Some people relate to friends from a very demanding position, and some don't demand anything at all and never let friends into their inner world. The world is filled with types of friendships, and just like it happens with love, it's only a matter of finding the right fit. There is nothing worse than being strung along to something that will eventually fall apart, and people deserve to be set free in time. If one is not reciprocating the feelings, I think we should communicate it asap.

This woman shared what is happening between her and her newly acquired friend and has decided to leave the relationship, but is wondering how to do it because it's not easy. Thoughts?

29 Heartwarming Friday Felines for a Blissful Meowment of Gentleness and Joy

LOL Cats - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 12:00
This is your "Live, Laugh, Love" moment, but instead, with kittens, fluffy felines, and all the cute faces your cat-loving soul could pawssibly desire.

Your mom probably had a "Live, Laugh, Love" sign somewhere in the house when you were growing up. It was probably in the kitchen. It was her way of reminding herself that, amidst cleaning up after you and your siblings, working, and taking care of you, she should still find time to experience joy. Or, better yet, to find the joy in the moments of her daily life.

Now, you'll never catch us with one of those signs within a 5-mile radius of our house. But, we do share the same sentiment: that we all need something that brings us bliss throughout the meownotony of daily life, even when you're paws-deep in it all. For us, it's cats. Specifically heartwarming pictures of felines that bring us a soft moment of gentleness and joy. We can furget all of our problems for 5 minutes and get lost in their adorable feline faces that keep us feeling hopeful and happy.

We definitely won't tell you to live, laugh and love. But, we will tell you that these pictures below are the break you didn't know you needed. Whether you're stuck in the office or winding down before bed, you deserve to feel a spark of joy and pawsitivity to help you get through this crazy thing we call life.

Woman wonders if a friendship is really worth keeping after she is forced to initiate every encounter or text exchange between them: 'I don’t think she’s lying to me but I’m finding it really hard to believe what she says when she’s then just so passive'

Fail Blog - Fri, 06/26/2026 - 11:30
Unrequited friendship

Sometimes, with friends, without realizing, we're the ones always texting, always initiating, and always wanting to talk things out. Some people exit our lives with proper goodbyes, they list reasons why they don't want to keep sharing their time with us, they blame the weather, their cat, or their busy schedules; other times, people vanish from our lives without saying a word, they start by forgetting to reply one or two messages, then they stop initiating hang-outs, then you never see them again. One has to have a very special kind of mindset in order not to be affected by something like this. If only we were as patient as monks, but we are not; we push things until we get some sort of resolution, and then, when the glass is finally shattered, we sweep the house, throw it in the trash, and finally move on.

The story below is about a woman who is on the verge of losing a friend, and wonders whether she should try a little longer or just let it go.

Sometimes, cute AI stories online are based on real stories - that are much, much cuter.

You may have seen this viral Twitter thread come across your timelines this week. Two cute pictures of a cat and a lynx cub with an equally cute caption story above them. But you, with your keen eye and your new suspicion of every cute post you see on the internet, instantly realized the story and the pictures were generated by AI. You open the post, and the comments confirm your suspicions. It's AI. Except… not exactly.

AI pulls its ideas from somewhere. It finds… inspiration in real life. And we, the ICHC writers, as people who have made it our business to know every single story that there is in existence about cats, knew, right away, that this AI story was based on a real one.

All the way back in 2015, something amazing happened. At the Novosibirsk Zoo in Russia, a domestic cat adopted a lynx cub. We had to dig for a while for a proper reference, but we found it - a 10-year-old DailyMail article covering exactly this story. Way before AI took over our lives. It's a simple story, but it is precious, and we understand why its AI version would go viral today.

A worker at the Novosibirsk zoo noticed that one of their lynx cubs was being neglected by its mother. It was the runt of the litter, and Momma Lynx decided he wasn't quite strong enough for her. That worker, concerned, came up with a unique idea. She brought in her own domestic cat, who had just given birth to kittens, and placed her with the cub, hoping that the mom's maternal instincts would apply to the itty-bitty wild cub as well. And they did.

The momma cat took in the lynx as if he were one of her own, raising him alongside her little kittens. The pictures of the pair are iconic. Truly, there is no need to generate fake ones when the real ones are so cute.
