Childhood is short; Spongebob is forever. 

Spongebob Squarepants has been on the air (and in movie theaters, too) for so long that it really spans multiple generations. The show started off in 1999, and is still running today! After 16 seasons, 4 movies, and 2 Netflix spinoffs, the show's cultural impact is undeniable. I don't think a day goes by that I don't make some sort of meme reference to my friend group about the show. 

Not to brag, but I think millennials were the group who were best poised to watch this wonderful show. We got to see it from it's very beginning, through its best years (debatable, I know). We spent our childhoods belting out the Krusty Krab Pizza song and the F.U.N. song. We basically memorized a lot of the episodes! 

When the Krusty Krab training video episode released, it was such a moment. 

Who could forget when nematodes ate Spongebob's pineapple house, or when Spongebob tried to deny himself water inside Sandy's treedome? 

Didn't we all love calling people "Spongeboy me bob" or calling our pets "Gare-bear"? 

It was a truly iconic time, and I know that word is overused, but I mean it. Every new episode release was incredible, and we all looked forward to each new drop. 

In addition, the way I know this show is deeply iconic, and a lasting cultural touchstone, is that there are freshly minted 2026 Spongebob memes.

Do you ever leave the grocery store and say, "Gosh, I think I forgot something!" Well, cat lovers, maybe you forgot to bring home the adorable, sweet black cat that you were petting in the parking lot. Fortunately, this person, taking a late-night stroll to their grocery store, found exactly what they were looking for at the market: A friend. 

Cats come to us at the most random times. In classic cat fashion, it's often at the most inconvenient moments of our lives, like when our hands are full of laundry, we're juggling soccer tournament schedules, or we're heading out in a hurry on the way to work. But that's just it, isn't it? Cats don't operate on our timing; we're supposed to operate on theirs. 

When this young cat lover was stressed out about life, they found themselves wandering the streets for a late-night stroll. Unbeknownst to them, they'd stumble upon another wayward traveler in the now-empty lot of a supermarket nearby. This black cat wasn't bad luck; in fact, she was purrfectly on time for this cat lover's needs: Perfectly on schedule, you might say. 

Although most cat lovers don't realize it when they first lock eyes with a kitty, the cat already knows you'll be their furrever human. This kitty, a black void named Shadow, became just that: a shadow to the human they decided would be theirs forever. After snacking on a few pocket treats, this cat knew that it was time for them to leave a life in the streets as a stray behind them, walking right behind a friendly human and forward into a totally new life. Meowing like a banshee at the front door of this kind stranger's house, this cat found a way to burrow into their soul, bonding with them before crossing the threshold for the final time. 

I'd say that this grocery store run wasn't like any that I've ever had, and yet I'm a bit jealous. Head to the store to grab a few random regular items and come home with a kitten? What a score like never before! Alas, like all cat lovers, I'll just have to wait for my moment to be chosen by the CDS. As always, the Cat Distribution System is always right, and they make no mistakes. 

How do people reach the age of 40 or 50 without feeling completely burned out by their careers?

The short answer is, they don't. It's incredibly rare for anyone to have a career, any career, without feeling the burnout at some point. It could happen when you're 25, it could happen when you're 55, and it can happen many times in between, too. The question is, what do you do to deal with it, and how do you move on without losing your job or risking your career?

Take this 47-year-old man, for example. He is a family man, a father to 3 kids, and a highly experienced employee who hasn't been without a job for the past 20 years. Despite all that, or maybe due to all that, he is currently feeling the worst burnout of his life, and is longing for a break, even though he knows he can't afford it.

Recently, he made a mistake at work that had huge repercussions. He admitted that it was a careless mistake, but he is so burned out that he doesn't really care if this mistake will lead to being fired. Actually, he is rather hoping it will. Now, when someone reaches the point of wishing they get fired because of how tired they are of working, they must take a long, hard look at their life and understand what they need to change. 

They can take a long vacation, take on a hobby, or work on improving their home life and relationship, whatever it takes to not feel so tired of their everyday life. Obviously, they can also change their job or profession, but that is a decision that should not be made recklessly, especially not these days. Staying at a job that makes you feel hopeless is never a solution, so we are here for any idea of how someone can snap out of it and enjoy life once more. Which is exactly why we now wonder:

Great friendships must be honored. Real friends are there for you to celebrate your wins, listen to your stories, hang out, and create memories that'll stay with you for years. Let's be honest, every group of friends has that duo with a special kind of connection. You all hang out together as a group, but there's always that one person who truly gets you. The one you'd be a little sad about if they didn't show up to the gathering.

Why should a company reward their workers who have stayed for 5, 10, or even 15 years? 

In a time where the best way to get a raise is to switch jobs every 2 or 3 years, this person is still dedicating their loyalty to one company. In the olden times, workers often stayed with one company for their entire career, and they were rewarded for it with money, perks, benefits, and a nice pension plan. 

These days, you'd be hard-pressed to find a workplace that actually offers a pension plan, and it'd be even harder to find a company that properly rewards workers who stay long term. Many people find that they might get a 5 or 10 percent raise at their current job each year, but they'll double their salary by switching to a new gig. You can't stay loyal to a company who doesn't have your best interests in mind, and I fear that most places won't match a new offer. They'd rather just let that employee go and start fresh with an entry-level employee.

If you're a cat owner, you know how hard bath time is. It's either a one on one combat against your cat, or a full-on relaxation spa. 

Why should this teacher restore her classroom when a bunch of 17-year-old kids who know better were the ones who destroyed it?

Senior pranks are only fun in theory. When you grow up, however, you should come to realize that a high school prank, no matter how innocent it may seem, might make life more challenging for the faculty and staff who actually work to maintain a clean environment for your education. 

Sure, using a permanent marker to draw on all the walls and desks might feel like justice after working tirelessly as a student five days a week for four years of high school. But what about the people whose jobs are to work tirelessly five days a week for their livelihoods? Should they have to clean up after your rebellious mess? 

It's hard not to empathize with the author's partner in this situation. A private school teacher, she did not expect to restore a damaged classroom as part of her daily responsibilities. When she and her partner learned that this "prank" was fully approved by the high school principal, the backlash only grew.

She chose the house over the bushes. 

Little Baby Alice started out as a TNR cat, showing up for food and sticking close to a yard that felt a bit safer than the streets. It's a big shift from where she started. From a skittish outdoor cat to one that's comfortable, social, and clearly happy inside. She wasn't meant to stay, but she made that call herself.

Sometimes cats just decide it's time to run. 

Cats get random zoomies like something inside them just said "go" and they listened immediately. No buildup, no warning, just a full sprint out of nowhere. You could be sitting there in total silence and suddenly there's a cat flying past like rent is due.

It's never at a normal time. Middle of the night, early morning, right when everything is calm. That's when the energy hits. They start running like they've got somewhere to be, but they absolutely do not.

There's no logic to it either. They'll run in one direction, stop, turn around, run back, maybe add in a jump for no reason. It's like they're making it up as they go. Very committed, though. Whatever the plan is, they're sticking to it.

You just sit there and watch like this is normal. Because at this point, it kind of is. Nothing to do but let it happen. Then it's over. They slow down, sit, and act completely fine like they didn't just sprint across the entire house for no reason.

It's a fine line parents have to walk when it comes to being supportive of your child, but also making sure they set themselves up to be able to survive. This becomes especially difficult when deciding a college major. Higher education is expensive in the US and you can't just go and then have nothing right afterwards. This is the problem for a lot of art students. They go to school, and then are drowning in student loan debt for the rest of their lives because they never end up making enough to pay it back. The system is whack and I could go on forever about, but that's not what I'm trying to do here..

Right now I'm trying to figure out if this mother is in the right or wrong… It's obvious she did not support her daughter's dreams of becoming an actress. But does she need to rub it in her daughter's face after she has been struggling in her career? You see, she begged her daughter to pick a more supportive major, but no, she chose theater. The mother disapproved, but it isn't her life, so whatever.

 However, after coming into some inheritance, the daughter is wondering if her mom could help with her student loans. Her mom gave her a stern no, but then right afterwards invited her and all of her siblings to an all-paid extravagant vacation. That feels a little tone deaf, don't you think? Like, read the room, mom…

There's no greater feeling than that of a cat who chooses your lap as their parking spot, rolling around themselves until they're laid down in the shape of a cinnamon roll, and purring like a tiny tractor of happiness. Sure, you're legally not allowed to move until the cat decides to park themselves elsewhere, but other than that - it's the greatest feeling in the world. To be chosen by a cat to be their soft and safe space is as heartwarming as it sounds.

Besides, having a cat purr while they're perched on you doesn't just mean that you've been chosen - purrs also have healing powers. It's a known fact amongst cat lovers already that purrs are healing with their specific frequency. Cats aren't just magic, it seems - they're also science. Having a feline friend at home is like owning the best of both fantasy and sci-fi worlds - the meowgic of the kitty and the advanced science of health they purrvide.

And while you can't move when a cat purrs on you, you might as well fill your time with more of that feline goodness. And by that, we always mean a good batch of feline funnies, to start off the day on the right paw. Because cats provide - and we're definitely ready to receive.

A petty parking dispute quickly escalated into a full-blown battle when these homeowners picked the wrong battle with an unhinged neighbor.

Life is not without its small annoyances. Noise, disturbances, and disruptions are among the most troubling aspects of living next to other people. Especially when they are unpredictable or at early or late hours, disruptive noises like loud vehicles and music, even lights that shine through windows, can become majorly inconvenient, leaving you fuming for entire days as you struggle to get through your work amid a cloud of sleep deprivation.

Unfortunately, there are few places left where you can actually live without having to deal with other people. Even the most rural areas have more than their fair share of people problems. And, branching out into the wilderness too has its problems, wild animals like bears, as some brave souls have trialed for us, make for poor companions. 

But there is annoying, and there is inconvenient, and then there is a certain point where your own reaction becomes the problem. You need to sit down and realize that it's really not that big of a deal, and you're just going to need to learn to live with it. 

There is also addressing and handling things with your neighbors with reasonable requests. And there is: this.

Having a job that you dislike can weigh a person down more than they realize. Of course there's more to life than work… but most of us work at least 40 hours every week, if not more, meaning that we spend more time with our coworkers than our own families. 

Many workers stay at their jobs because the pay is good, or the bonus structure rewards their hard work, or they love their coworkers. But over time, having a bad boss or a toxic work environment makes these employees start questioning how much longer they can handle being at that same job. 

Making mistakes is human. But correcting your mistake by re-rescuing the cat you've already found dumped in a ditch a year before, along with her newborn kittens, taking responsibility over the mama cat by adopting her and providing her with the forever home she needs so badly, and taking extra measures to make sure the homes you find for the kittens will never be as neglectful as their mama has experiences, is no short than angelic. Seriously, this cat rescuer restores our faith in humanity, even though all the other people involved are probably working hard to destroy it. She stands above them all, and should be very purroud of herself.

Self-awareness was supposed to be the answer. Somewhere between therapy speak going mainstream and everyone suddenly knowing what "nervous system dysregulation" means, we were all promised that understanding yourself was the first step to fixing yourself. Nobody mentioned there wasn't a second step.Here we are. Fully aware. Completely unimproved.

Kitty ASMR was not something we knew we needed until now. We're not ones to yuck somebody's yum, but the clickity-clack sounds of nails on a cheap microphone and the sounds of people eating gross us out. However, when it's a cat replacing the hooman influencer, we're purrfectly locked in. The crunching noises, the adorable inhales in between bites, and the occasional meows really set off all the serotonin buttons in our brains. 

Meet Poong, a cat with brain damage who has over 1 million followers on Instagram. Because of her injury, she can't eat by herself, so her hooman feeds her all her meals. Not only is it incredibly compassionate, but it's also the most purrfectly adorable thing we've ever seen. Because Poong has difficulty moving her head, she stays in place, while her hooman offers her a bite. Poong sniffs the tasty bite, then opens her mouth, awaiting her meowrvelous bite. The food is placed in between her open jaws, like a baby being fed with the airplane technique we all know so well. And then, the cronching begins. Crumbs fall everywhere, hence her nickname, 'The Cookie Monster'.

Fridays seem like they should be the calmest day of the week, but that's the farthest from the truth it can be. As everyone rushes to get everything done before the weekend, you can catch us as cool as a cucumber thanks to these wholesome felines full of soft kitten serenity.

Fridays feel like everyone all of a sudden remembered that they have a hundred unfinished projects that must be finished by 5 PM. Where was all of this energy and work on Tuesday? Finish this, close that deal, let's meet with this client before the weekend - all combined with a feline frantic rush of stress that the world will end if they don't cross all these things off their To-Do list before Saturday. We try not to let it get to us, but when you're stuck in an office with everyone running around like a crazed chicken, you can only hold out for so long before you start pulling your hair out.

We have a few techniques to stave off the Friday stress, one of them is hiding in the bathroom and taking a nap in the stall, but that can get pawsitively pungent. Our preferred choice, and a much less smelly one at that, is to feed our brains with something that counteracts stress, and for us, that's heartwarming kitties. 

Think kittens napping in the tiniest boxes, black cats blepping with the best of them, and silly orange cats with one purrfectly useless brain cell making the derpiest faces your hooman brain can only dream of. They're the purrfect antidote to all that Friday stress, and without them, we'd be as bald as a Sphynx cat by now. Macho on the outside, a softie who baby-talks at your cats behind your back on the inside. The cutest 30-year-old tough-guy roommate. 

A part of you always worries about the way that your roommates treat your cats when you're not there. You're afraid of the worst. Because you're the internet, and you have seen the worst. You have seen roommates steal cats, locking them in their rooms. You have seen roommates mistreat cats and expect you to take care of them. Having a manly, macho 30-year-old man roommate who is indifferent to your cats kind of seems like a good deal in comparison to all of the other things that we have seen. Indifference is not positive, maybe, but it's certainly not negative either. Catching that manly macho man baby-talking at your cats behind your back when he thinks that you are not home to see it, shocked into stillness when he sees you looking… yeah, that's much better. We wish all roommates were like this dude. 

No sensible person wants to start a fight with their neighbor, especially when that neighbor is a seemingly innocent old grandma.

However, we have a hunch that this elderly couple knew exactly what they were doing. After all, when they first moved into the neighborhood not too long ago, they had their property surveyed and even confirmed with the homeowners next door where their property ended and where the homeowners' property began. 

All those cards were on the table from the very beginning, so it came as a bit of a surprise to the homeowners next door when, all of a sudden, they kept finding their neighbors' grandkids frolicking in their backyard and on their private property day after day without permission. 

They tried to confront the older grandparents politely, thinking that maybe something got lost in translation during those early conversations about property boundaries. Or perhaps this kind of frequent trespassing was normal in their former neighborhood. However, when it became clear that the behavior was not going to stop any time soon, that's when the homeowners realized they were being duped the whole time.
