Some noses are just born to be booped. And by "some", we mean all cats.

The unfurtunate reality of the world is that, no matter how much we don't want to, we have to wake up and go to work on Monday meowrning. If not, we'll be fired, and then we won't be able to afford our cat's lavish lifestyle. They have very expensive hobbies, and we know how impurrtant their mental stimulation is to their overall health. And so, as our alarm goes off at 7 AM today, we begrudingly get out of bed, put on our work outfit for the day (the one that's least covered in cat hair), and get out the door.

But, as we're about to leave, our kitties come up to us and give us some head bonks, purractically begging us not to go. We tell them that we must go so that we can afford their Fancy Feast and Friskies, but we're not sure they understand, so, we give their awwdorable noses a purrfect boop to let them know we love them.

And then, it pawsitively dawned on us. All we need to have a good day is to boop some kitty snoots, and before you know it, we're smiling. For cat lovers like us, it's ameowzing how you can find little mini moments of joy from the most mundane expurriences. Your cats are a gift, and never furget that. They can bring you joy in your lowest meowments, so boop some feline noses and go get 'em today. You got this!

The work week starts when the office cats clock in.

Monday means the cats are clocking in and kicking off the work week. Fresh week, fresh workload, lots of very impurrtant business to handle. Some look ready to get started right away. Others have the face of someone already thinking about lunch. Strong Monday energy all around.

Cats fit work mode a little too well. They've got the serious expressions, the focus, the "please hold my calls" attitude. Easy to imagine them reviewing reports, handling emails, and settling in for a full day at the office. Some have clear manager energy. Some feel like they just started this morning and are trying to look busy.

The start of the week has its own rhythm. New to-do list, new deadlines, and a whole crew of felines showing up ready to put in a shift. One looks ready to run the meeting. Another seems deep in thought over something probably not urgent at all. Everybody appears employed.

It makes Monday look much better. More pawsitive, more organized, and probably a lot furrier. If the cats are kicking off the work week, the office looks fully staffed and surprisingly motivated. Not a bad group to have on the schedule.

It doesn't take long for kittens to take over your whole heart. 

For a first-time cat pawrent, this feels very real. Two kittens came home a couple months ago and now they're clearly the best part of this person's day, even with blinds getting chewed and late-night wrestling. That's part of the deal.

Peppermint sounds like he won this pawrent over fast. The naps, slow blinks, all the snuggling, even being the one eating the blinds. Calling him a soul cat says a lot. Panda has his own sweet story too, going from hiding under the bed to greeting his person in the morning and coming over when called. That kind of change feels big.

What makes it sweet is hearing a cat pawrent realize all those old ideas about cats not being loving just aren't true. The bond is there, just in cat ways. Once you have it, you get it.

It also feels very familiar how fast this happened. First it's "I adopted two kittens," then it's "I miss them when I'm at work." That's how it goes.

Move over, Florida Man, the Florida Feline is taking over the internet now.

We appreciate memes of all years and ages, and the Florida Man had a very successful run. It came about in the first half of the previous decade, describing the irrational, ridiculous, and downright maniacal actions of some men in Florida (and some women, of course). It makes sense that such hilarious stories would happen in Florida, the land where alligators in the backyard and Disney World live together happily ever after. It's crazy down there. We guess that the Cat Distribution System just works differently in hot and humid weather. Or perhaps it's the already kooky atmosphere of this state. Either way, it gives us cats who are willing to journey overseas just to get adopted, in a true Florida Man news title fashion. Honestly, we care about the bottom line of this cat having their forever home secured - but the way over there also matters.

A woman sees a kitten in danger, and it's imminent. A dog holds the tiny thing in its mouth, but the woman snatches her out in time to save her. 

Stories like these sound unbelievable. After saving her, she rode home in a beanie and slept the whole way. She ate some food and purred loudly when being pet. The woman is immediately enamored and enticed, their love will continue on. She survived a hurricane as a kitten, and was transferred to Fort Collins, Colorado with other animals when the shelters and rescues got destroyed there. She was in a rescue for 2 years! She had been through so much, and it showed. She wasn't a cuddly, happy-go-lucky cat, so many potential adopters saw past her. She was shy and skittish and needed someone with time and patience to adapt to, and she found her. A woman ended up choosing this sweetheart, and the tiny cat is slowly allowing her to pet her. She meows for food and water and finally for pets. This woman fully believes that the cat was meant for her, and it's just heartwarming to read about. The only thing that might help heal your broken heart after your senior cat crosses the rainbow bridge is a teeny weeny kitten who's looking for love. 

As someone who has never actually lost a cat, the thought is absolutely terrifying. Our cats are seniors by now. We pretend that we don't see it on them, we live in denial on purpose, but we do see it. We see the changes, their pace slowing, their need for extra heat and comfort, their closeness to us increasing with time as well. Cats growing old is something that is not supposed to happen, in our minds. It's not allowed. It couldn't be.

If you wondered what happened to the kitten who was rescued from its in-wall hiding spot, then strap in for a wild ride of feline frivolity.

It was a tense start to this story, having our feline protagonist stuck in a wall. But once he was freed from his wall captivity it gave his new pawrent time to try and rescue the rest of the kitten's family. A task that proved to be a fair bit more tricky than was initially anticipated which momentarily made our heroic hooman lose hope that he would ever manage to reunite this feline family. This led him to make an interesting decision in order to try and keep his wall kitten company.

For while the kitten's family would have made the best company, with them unavailable, this hooman went out and adopted a beautiful void to come and be this kitten's sibling. And much to our satisfaction the pair got on like a house on fire. Which gave our rescuer the time needed to slowly coax the rest of this kitten's family into the safety of captivity and onwards to foster homes that would love and care for them the way they deserved. 
 

Kittens may meownipulate human cat lovers 100x their sizes, but it's with their shining eyes, flickering worm tails, and tiny pink noses that they're able to make us (arguably the most dangerous apex creature on the planet) bow to their every whim. 

It's not as if kittens mean to take over our hearts and minds with cat hypnosis intentionally; there's no ill will in those tiny bones. 

Cats just have a natural supurriority over the other creatures of the world because they believe, as all cat lovers can agree, that they're the best creatures on earth. Pint-sized cuteness paired with mega mighty mews makes for an undeniably wonderful animal indeed. Can dogs boast of the same grace and dignity? Can birds catch a lizard and leave it on your porch for you? Can a hamster demand kibble gravy on every meal of the day, despite protests from the vet about their growing weight? No, but a cat can.

Over here at I Can Has Cheezburger?, we're working hard to dispel the myth that cats are cold and aloof all the time. Every single feline we've met has been one of the friendliest creatures we've had the pleasure of spending time with, and we believe they're just as friendly as dogs. Some of them just take a little longer to warm up to you than others. And if cats can make friends with hoomans, and in our video below, even chickens, then we're pretty sure they're not as detached as most people believe them to be.

Think about it, cats and chickens should be meowrtal enemies. One is the hunter, the other is prey. And yet, this farmer's black cat gave birth to an adorable litter of kittens in the chicken coop, and her hen friends are helping co-pawrent her babies. You could call them their loving "Aunties", which we think is just too cute. All squished together in the chicken coop, the hens take turns watching the kittens as they begin to learn about the world around them, and momma cat gets to take an extra nap or two.

It just goes to beg the question - if cats and chickens can get along, why can't we?

Cats have a mind of their own, especially the ones you don't even know are yours yet.

Felines are known for being master meownipulators and convincing other families that they're poor, sad stray cats that need their love, even when they have a purrfectly good family back home. At one point, we discovered that one of our cats (who would always find a way to sneak out no matter how much we tried to keep her in) had three other families who took care of her. What a greedy kitty!

It's not just hissterical house cats who purrticipate in the "not my cat" phenomenon. Street cats will often decide that they're living in your house, sneak in, charm you until you decide to adopt them, and then all of a sudden, you have a pet cat. These "not my cats" are the sneakiest, but also the cutest. They come in, purr, love on you, sleep on the edge of your bed, and slowly, you fall in love with them. They knew you were going to adopt them before you did. Below, you'll find a bunch of wholesome "not my cat" encounters when a surprise little meow found a feline fan and stayed fur good. They're purrfectly silly, pawsitively mischievous, and 100% cat.

Cats treat every vet visit like a personal betrayal.

Cats know it's a vet trip before anything even happens. You touch the carrier and suddenly a cat who was asleep two seconds ago disappears. Under the bed, behind the couch, somewhere previously thought impossible. They become little escape artists the second they sense something is up. Very sus-purr-cious.

Then comes the betrayal phase. You're trying to help, but they act like you've personally ruined their life. The car ride becomes a full meownologue of complaints. Loud ones. Very passionate ones. By the time you get there, they've made it clear this was not approved.

At the vet, every cat handles it differently, but all of them act offended. Some go completely stiff like furry statues. Others turn into tiny chaos machines. The waiting room alone feels like a lot for them. Strange smells, strange animals, strangers touching them. It is, in their minds, a complete cat-astrophe.

Then you get home and the real judgment starts. They step out of the carrier and act like trust has been broken forever. Maybe you get ignored for a few hours. Maybe you get side-eye all night. They survive it and make sure you hear about it.

Every little win with a former TNR cat feels huge.

Adopting a shy TNR cat can take a lot of patience, which is what makes this progress feel so big. This started with a cat that was cautious and likely kept her distance, and now she's accepting pets, playing, and choosing to stay close. Those aren't small changes. That's trust being built step by step.

The biggest moment has to be her sleeping next to a leg on the couch for hours. For a cat that started out wary, that says a lot. She didn't just tolerate being nearby, she chose it. That kind of closeness feels huge when it comes from a cat that had to learn people were safe.

What makes the story especially sweet is that the person adopting her is noticing every little win and being careful not to rush the next one. It also feels like she keeps showing a little more of herself as she gets comfortable. First pets, then play, now sofa naps pressed up next to her person. For a former TNR cat, that is real progress. She may still be shy, but she sounds like she's settling in and starting to feel at home.

Sometimes, all it takes is one good person to change an animal's whole life.

We don't know how this kitten ended up in the middle of the road, paralyzed. We don't know what in her life led to this moment, why she stopped moving right there in the middle of the busy road. What we do know is that people weren't stopping. Endless cars saw her motionless on the road as they drove over her, and endles cars kept going. It would have taken one car not paying attention for this kitten's life to be cut short. One wrong move. But she was saved before that happened. 

It took one kind person. This person ran into the middle of the busy to save this cat's life. Because they knew that all it would take is one wrong move by a single car, and they couldn't let that happen. After that, for a moment, it seems like everything was in vein, when the vet told them that she wouldn't make it a single day after they rescued her. But this kitten was a fighter, and now that she had someone to care for her, she had something to keep fighting for.

What's the mystery behind pregnant cats knowing exactly where to turn to for help with delivery, nursing, and the general care she will need?

The answer to this age-old question is divided into two answers, which basically say the same thing: a pregnant cat has an insane drive to find safety, in ways that most of us don't even begin to understand. It's a meowgical instinct that's explained in these two parts:

The CDS is a true mystery, but many people attest that the cat they seemingly "just found" was the perfect fit for them - in temperament, in time, and in availability. And this is why many cat pawrents who adopted their cats this way think it was all orchestrated by this mysterious body, entity, or whatever they are. It's like they install an "adopt me" software into a cat, and everything else sort of falls into place.

And then you have the Trojan Cat sub-genre of adoptions. It's not just a cat in need - it's a female cat who's about to turn into multiple cats very soon. And she needs a safe place to do it in. Enter: you. Or the person the CDS matched with her. But jokes aside, a pregnant cat really does have a meowgical instinct in her to birth in the safest environment she can has (Can Has, get it?). Most modern-day pregnant women don't even feel it, with our hospitals and advanced medical capabilities. But a pregnant cat on the streets? She has a very different story. So, why the name? Just like a Trojan Horse hiding soldiers in its belly, so can the Trojan Cat, just with more kittens and less warfare.

This one pregnant cat, Roxy, had it all in one package - and no, we're not talking only about her pregnancy. She had this whole adoption deal that includes her future kittens, sure, but also medical complications and hardships. But they all ended up with a happy ending, inside a happy and loving home.
