Paralyzed cat adorably nicknamed 'The Cookie Monster' for her dopamine-inducing mealtimes that consistently go viral amongst fans of funny felines

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 07:15
Open wide, and say, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Kitty ASMR was not something we knew we needed until now. We're not ones to yuck somebody's yum, but the clickity-clack sounds of nails on a cheap microphone and the sounds of people eating gross us out. However, when it's a cat replacing the hooman influencer, we're purrfectly locked in. The crunching noises, the adorable inhales in between bites, and the occasional meows really set off all the serotonin buttons in our brains.

Meet Poong, a cat with brain damage who has over 1 million followers on Instagram. Because of her injury, she can't eat by herself, so her hooman feeds her all her meals. Not only is it incredibly compassionate, but it's also the most purrfectly adorable thing we've ever seen. Because Poong has difficulty moving her head, she stays in place, while her hooman offers her a bite. Poong sniffs the tasty bite, then opens her mouth, awaiting her meowrvelous bite. The food is placed in between her open jaws, like a baby being fed with the airplane technique we all know so well. And then, the cronching begins. Crumbs fall everywhere, hence her nickname, 'The Cookie Monster'.

Take a few minutes out of your day to boost your derpy dopamine thanks to Poong and her hissterically calming snack break. You won't regret it.

29 Heartwarming Friday Felines for a Gentle Meowment of Soft Kitten Serenity

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 06:30
Fridays seem like they should be the calmest day of the week, but that's the farthest from the truth it can be. As everyone rushes to get everything done before the weekend, you can catch us as cool as a cucumber thanks to these wholesome felines full of soft kitten serenity.

Fridays feel like everyone all of a sudden remembered that they have a hundred unfinished projects that must be finished by 5 PM. Where was all of this energy and work on Tuesday? Finish this, close that deal, let's meet with this client before the weekend - all combined with a feline frantic rush of stress that the world will end if they don't cross all these things off their To-Do list before Saturday. We try not to let it get to us, but when you're stuck in an office with everyone running around like a crazed chicken, you can only hold out for so long before you start pulling your hair out.

We have a few techniques to stave off the Friday stress, one of them is hiding in the bathroom and taking a nap in the stall, but that can get pawsitively pungent. Our preferred choice, and a much less smelly one at that, is to feed our brains with something that counteracts stress, and for us, that's heartwarming kitties

Think kittens napping in the tiniest boxes, black cats blepping with the best of them, and silly orange cats with one purrfectly useless brain cell making the derpiest faces your hooman brain can only dream of. They're the purrfect antidote to all that Friday stress, and without them, we'd be as bald as a Sphynx cat by now. Enjoy this soft landing of fluffy felines for the end of your work week, and we hope you have a purrfectly pleasant weekend!

'I found out how my roommate treats my cats when I’m not home': Woman catches her 30-year-old “tough guy” roommate going full softie and baby-talking her cats despite always being aloof around them

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 05:45
Macho on the outside, a softie who baby-talks at your cats behind your back on the inside. The cutest 30-year-old tough-guy roommate.

A part of you always worries about the way that your roommates treat your cats when you're not there. You're afraid of the worst. Because you're the internet, and you have seen the worst. You have seen roommates steal cats, locking them in their rooms. You have seen roommates mistreat cats and expect you to take care of them. You have seen roommates allow cats to escape and then act like they didn't do anything all that wrong. And then, something good happens with your cat and roommate, and somehow, that is way more shocking than the other stuff.

Having a manly, macho 30-year-old man roommate who is indifferent to your cats kind of seems like a good deal in comparison to all of the other things that we have seen. Indifference is not positive, maybe, but it's certainly not negative either. Catching that manly macho man baby-talking at your cats behind your back when he thinks that you are not home to see it, shocked into stillness when he sees you looking… yeah, that's much better. We wish all roommates were like this dude.

23 Meowgical Cat Memes Full of Mischief and Marvel

Fri, 04/24/2026 - 04:00
Cats have a special talent for creating chaos in the most innocent, endearing way possible. That's why we've collected this collection of juxtaposing cat vibes just for your scrolling pleasure.

Cats really do span so many different vibes. Maybe you're in a chill mood and just want to veg on the couch in a hoodie and bag of Cheetos. Cats will be there for it. But what if you want to dance in your living room with chaotic music that you never want anyone to see you listening to? They also want to be a part of that vibe; they'll happily accept the zoomies while you're dancing to your own chaos. Cats have a meowgical mischief to them. It starts with their endless fascination and curiosity about the world, and goes into places that you never expect. Their sneakiness is playful, and their whole demeaner is just too adorably innocent for anyone to tell them to stop.

We forgive these mischievous animals for basically anything. At I Can Has Cheezburger, we accept cats no matter how chaotic they are. We're big believers in fate, and if your cat knocked your keys off the table, well I guess that's just how the fates would have it for you. So please scroll below for the silliest and best meowgical cat memes full of mischief.

25 Smiley Cats to Put an Even Bigger Smile on Your Face Today

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 14:30
Close your eyes and imagine the softest, happiest cat smile. Now open them, here you have 25 of them.

Scientists have yet to formally study the effect of a smiling cat on the human nervous system. This is a failure of modern science. Because anyone who has ever locked eyes with a cat mid-grin, that soft, sleepy, I-have-everything-I-could-ever-want expression, knows exactly what happens. Something in your chest unclenches. Your shoulders drop half an inch. You exhale, all is good.

Cat owner finds surprise inheritance stashed in grandmother’s vintage chair after her pet "accidentally" scratches a hole underneath: 'It wasn’t even about the money, it felt like one last gift from her'

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 13:45
Imagine how much of her inheritance she actually threw out by accident.

Grandparents are known for collecting a lot of junk. Their houses are full of tchotchkes and knick-knacks that they've acquired over their long periods of life. Most of them are useless, and when you have to sort through their whole lives after they pass away, you have to decide what to keep and what's trash. But you never know what might secretly be worth a lot more than it seems.

After inheriting her grandmother's apartment, our purrfectly loving cat owner moved in and renovated the antique home. The only thing she kept was a beautiful vintage armchair, which her cat seemed to be obsessed with. The cat kept scratching at it from underneath, and when she went to fix it, something dropped from inside the chair. It turns out that her grandmother had hidden part of her inheritance inside and didn't tell anyone! Thanks, kitty!

22 Sleepy Cat Memes Napping Like They Pay Rent

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 12:30
Cats are true nap professionals. They sleep more than they live, but they can look exhausted even after sleeping all day. Can they take a nap without someone writing a caption? No. That's why I dedicated this post to sleepy cat memes! Scroll down, time for a cat nap.

Wait, you're not supposed to slee… OK, whatever, sleep anywhere you want. You're too adorable to argue with anyway.

In their world, every surface is a potential bed, but we'll never understand how they choose their sleeping spots. Our honest reaction is just: ????. How do they define comfort? We never know. What we do know is that, in cat logic, a cardboard box will always beat anything else. Ahhhh, this is premium comfort, hooman. Luxury, king-sized, 5 stars, coziest cushion in the world, would sleep here forever, love it. Thanks, delivery man.

'I miss him everyday': Stray finds woman on her birthday in the midst of a breakup, she gives him to friend due to mom's allergies but he still lives in her heart

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 11:15
Who could have asked for a more purrfect birthday gift from the cat distribution system?

This woman was going through a difficult time, but it's times like those where the cat distribution system works in your favor. There's an empathy and meaning behind the system that isn't to be ignored. As they say, the cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. It was her birthday and this sweet boy came to her friend's apartment. She was in the midst of a breakup with one ex, and another one was back in her life in a not-so-nice way. Even with her friend things weren't going so well. She found herself all alone that night, except for the presence of this little animal. She kept him for four days, and brought him to the vet to check for a microchip, but he didn't have one, and he also wasn't fixed. Despite all her hardships, he was still there for her, and he saved her. She immediately formed a bond with him as he purred non-stop and cuddled with her. But alas, she had to give him up to a friend due to her mother's cat allergies.

Though she doesn't have him as hers anymore, she still thinks of him and misses him everyday. Life doesn't always work out exactly as we planned, but we can still appreciate the little acts of love we've been given.

Beautiful calico found on Easter under a tree, showing how the cat distribution system uses holidays to its advantage

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 10:30
Even if you don't celebrate Easter or have any belief in the cosmos having a meaning, it doesn't change the beauty that comes when a little calico cat is found peacefully sitting under a tree on Easter. A happy holiday for this family.

And she named the calico, Princess Charlotte Eden. She was out running errands and driving home when she spotted the indelible calico under a tree. She was shaking had no pawrent or other cats nearby. The woman went back to the tree to find her family but no more cats came out. She named her Princess Charlotte because the woman's name is Victoria, so she wanted to keep the name in the England Royal Family – Queen Victoria and Princess Charlotte. And she chose Eden because she was sitting under a tree, like as if she was sitting under a tree in the Garden of Eden (and incorporating Easter themes). She says she's not religious, but it was a memorable moment and the best Easter egg she could have found.

It's almost storybook-like to find a cat sitting under a tree on Easter. She chose to take it home because everything just felt too magical. Easter is already a day tied to renewal, softness, innocence, and new beginnings, and to stumble upon a small, unexpected and abandoned life in the middle of that symbolism makes everything feel so much more meaningful. Read the full story below.

Mother and daughter find a limp white kitten in a trash can with her head stuck in a food tin, her last attempt at getting a meal before she stopped fighting, they rescue her, restoring her hope and safety

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 09:45
Keep your eyes open to animals in need, and you may end up saving a life when you least expect it.

Life as a stray cat is something that we, as owners of very spoiled cats who have everything they could ever need, will never quite understand. We don't know what it is that they go through out there. All that we know is that their life, compared to the lives of our house cats, is insanely difficult. They have to fight for every scrap of food, for every bit of shelter, and basically everything else in their lives. And although some street cats are good at it, maybe even like it, kittens… they are not built for that.

Kittens get abandoned by their mommas more often thn we would like to think. The runts. The ones who are a little weaker, a little slower. We don't like thinking about it, but that's nature. And that is what this kitty was. She got abandoned, and she found herself having to fight for that food that she needed. Only she wasn't ready for how difficult it would be, and she didn't quite manage to survive on her own. She needed help from us - from humans.

Pregnant sister-in-law "temporarily rehomes" her cat because she "couldn't deal with her right now", without telling the new owners it's temporary, they fall in love with the kitty and refuse to give her back: '[She says] I'm stealing her cat'

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 08:00
"Rehoming" is a word that has a meaning. Don't use it if you don't intend to follow through with it.

Rehoming a cat because of a baby has to be one of the most difficult decisions to make. One of our worst nightmares is having a baby who is deathly allergic to cats. So far, that hasn't happened, and we don't know what we will do if it does. So, in some ways, we have sympathy for the woman in this story. In all other ways, we're inclined to think that she's a liar.

Keep your story straight. That is what we would tell her. At first, she was tossing her cat onto her sister-in-law because she "couldn't handle her right now". Then, it was because her toddler was allergic to cats. First, it was a permanent rehoming of the cat. Then, she returned, demanding the cat back as if it was always the plan for her to do so. Something is off about the whole thing, but the only thing that we know for sure is that the cat seems much happier in his new home than in his old one, and we don't think that a person like this woman is someone who should have any pets at all.

30 Feline Funnies to Calm Your Nerves With Wholesome Cats

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 07:15
There's nothing more calming than being around a cat.

Cats didn't set out to be tiny zen masters - but a lot of what they are happens to hit the human nervous system in exactly the right frequency, like a Tibetan singing bowl but with more fur, and even more weird sounds. There's something about cats' energy that is so low and deliberate. They move slowly, stretch a big stretch, settle in the shape of a cinnamon roll, and loaf around all the time. There's no sudden chaos (unless it's 3 AM zoomies). That predictable behavior is so calming to our brains.

Also, did you know that a cat's purr is basically a built-in white noise machine? The purr vibrates in a low and steady frequency range that many people find soothing - the same reason babies fall asleep while the car is driving (but wake up at every red light…). There's even some research-based evidence that those vibrations can reduce stress and promote relaxation. Now that's what we call cat meowgic.

Cats are the purrfect relaxing pets for introverts, offering micro-interactions instead of an extroverted noise. Slow blinks, gentle headbutts, lazy tail flicks - cats communicate in quiet and subtle ways, which avoids the pressure of some social interactions you might have otherwise. Engaging with that naturally slows you down and pulls you into a calmer rhythm that cats absolutely master.

Husband and wife who grieve their lost pregnancy find a litter of abandoned kittens in a paper bag that desperately needed the one thing they had left to give: 'We were very much looking forward to being parents.'

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 06:30
We're not sure if we believe in fate, karma, destiny, or any other concept that alludes to providence. But it's very hard to deny the causes and effects of the CDS on the lives of cats and people who needed each other the most at the very same time.

When we hear of a purrfect match between a cat and a person, our hearts expand. It's always a happy occasion when a person finds their forever feline, or when a cat finds a forever home. But when a cat with a specific need finds the exact human who can provide them exactly that, while the people in question also have a specific need that can be filled by said cats in need - that's some real-life meowgic.

We're not here to debate beliefs, but to provide our own purrspective on the Cat Distribution System, this mysterious thing that cannot be described but is present in so many cat adoption stories that we're having a hard time denying its existence. Especially when it makes even the saddest of situations, like these husband and wife who lost their first pregnancy prematurely, who found the nearest litter of kittens who needed someone to care for them as a parent would. We can't deny the poetry written in real-life situations such as this.

23 Iconic Pictures of Cats Checking Themselves Out in the Mirror Like True Meowdels

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 05:45
Cats see a mirror and immediately start admiring themselves.

Cats in front of a mirror act like they've just discovered their own level of pawfection. One second they're walking by, the next they freeze. Hold on. That cat looks incredible. You can see them trying to figure it out, or not really trying at all. Is it another cat or just a very handsome meowdel? Either way, they're not looking away.

They lean in close, nose almost on the glass, like they need a better view. A small head tilt, a stretch, maybe a slow turn to check the full profile. Every move gets copied back perfectly, which only makes it better. It turns into a full purrsonal review and everything checks out.

Some of them really take their time with it. They sit there, staring like they're studying something important. You can almost hear the thoughts. Good whiskers. Strong stance. Solid fluff. This is top-tier cat material and they know it.

Then they just walk off like nothing happened. No reaction, no second thought. But you know that was a full moment. Just a cat admiring its own impawssive self and carrying on with a little extra catfidence.

'I was only supposed to look over this little guy for 3 months': This foster cat picked his hooman on day one, followed him everywhere, and made it clear he’s home for good

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 04:00
He was only meant to stay a few months.

This was only supposed to be temporary. The plan was to foster this little guy for a few months, help manage his diabetes, and get him ready for adoption. A short stop on the way to his forever home.

That didn't last long. He picked his purrson almost right away. He follows them everywhere, room to room, never too far behind. The second they sit or lie down, he's there, climbing into their arms like it's his spot. When they stepped out to grab the mail, he sat by the window and cried until they came back. Even at 2am, he's right there, curled up and staring, completely content just being close.

It's hard to ignore something like that. He's not acting like a cat passing through, he's acting like he already knows where he belongs. After a rough few years, he finally has a place where he feels safe, and he's holding onto it.

Some cats take time to settle. This one didn't. He made the decision quickly, and now it's just a matter of catching up to it. What started as a foster situation is turning into something else, and it feels pretty clear where this is going.

'We will be her forever family': Senior black cat that was rehomed twice finally a hooman who treats her like the miracle she is, healing them both

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 03:15
Some cats find their hoomans immediately, others have a longer and more arduous journey to find their furrever home. But both know when they've arrived, because the love you feel from your soul cat will feel unlike any love you've ever felt before.

Not every cat and hooman pair mesh well together. Some cats really like their purrsonal space, and for pawrents who want a snuggly cat, they might feel disappointed that their cat doesn't want their affection. Similarly, we've also heard of cats being rehomed for being too cuddly. Everyone is alllowed to have their own desires for their own pet, but all this to say that finding the pet that fits you isn't as easy as it sounds.

The unfurtunate reality is that cats are rehomed all the time because they don't end up fitting with their pawrent's lifestyle. Sorsha, our senior black baby below, was rehomed twice before finding her furrever home. But once she found her pawrent, they both knew that it was meant to be.

"My days home with her are the best. I go to work and wish I could text her asking how her day is going. When I'm home, she follows me everywhere." - Sorsha's hooman

We said above that the love from your soul cat will feel unlike any love you've ever felt before, but that's only true if you've never had a soul connection with an animal before. Sorsha's pawrent had a border collie 20 years ago that was her best friend. She now says that Sorsha reminds her of the love she and her border collie shared, and just like how you know the purrson you want to marry is "the one", we know that Sorsha and her hooman are meant to be together furrever.

5 kittens narrowly escape a flood, getting rescued just in time by a cat lover and her devoted kitten-nanny doggo: 'It was meant to be'

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 12:30
Mother Nature nearly claimed this freshly-born litter of kittens, but not when there's a heroic cat-lover on watch!

After their stray mother was scared off by thunder and an electric crackle in the air, these 5 kittens were left to fend for themselves. Barely able to open their beady little eyes and incapable of doing much more than wriggling around their nest, the incoming winter storm wasn't looking hopeful for this brood of kittens.

Luckily, the Cat Distribution System heard their tiny mews for help, and the CDS immediately dispatched a rescue team to save them: A cat lover and her faithful, friendly doggo.

It's not every day that cat lovers are given an oppawtunity to be heroes, but when this woman found a clutch of soaking wet, trembling little kittens, she stepped up to the plate. Without hesitation, she scooped the babies up, quickly traipsing around the basement to find a mother who wasn't there.

She was their new meowther now.

'The CDS finally chose me!': Boss goes out in pouring rain to save a black cat from the harsh weather, he gives it to his employee who promptly takes home the void

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 12:00
To go out in the pouring rain to save a little cat from some bad weather isn't just sweet and heartfelt, it's actually good karma. You'll never know the extent of these small actions or how they affect the world until you take a cat home furrever.

It was November, in the nascence of winter's beginnings, when you can't properly predict the weather. There's a void cat hanging around a job site. This person never saw the cat there before, and then on a particularly cold and rainy day, the void was there. This person couldn't even work knowing that the cat was outside getting rained on. So the person's boss went out in the cold and rain to help catch the cat, and brought it to this person. Then the person begged her husband to let them keep the cat, and he approved! After the vet appointment, they realized this kitten was only 4-5 months old. He was skinny and full of worms, but they got him promptly treated and tested for everything. The married couple actually had a plan to go to a shelter and get a kitty, but that's why the cat distribution system works in mysterious ways. It has a way of knowing you before you know yourself, claiming your space and gifting you a cat from the universe. Enjoy the rest of this special story.
