22 Playful Pictures of Cats Who Heard “Out of the Bag” and Said Absolutely Not
Cats don't see bags as objects, they see them as opportunities. The second one shows up, it's game over. Paper, plastic, tote, doesn't matter. If it makes that little crinkle sound, it's basically a personal invitation. You put a bag down for one second and suddenly there's a cat inside it like it spawned there.
They also have zero respect for size limits. A bag that can barely hold a sandwich will somehow contain a full cat. Front half goes in confidently, back half gets sorted out later. There's a brief pause when the bag makes noise, then right back to business like nothing unusual is happening. Full purrsuit of bag living.
Once inside, they're convinced they've disappeared. Entire cat visible, tail waving around, head poking out, still acting like they've mastered stealth. They'll sit there staring at you like you're the one missing something. Peak delusion, zero doubt.
The bag is no longer yours. It has been officially reassigned. You could have just unpacked groceries, you could need it later, none of that matters. The bag has a new purpose now, and that purpose is cat.
21 Meowvelous Memes of Cats Taking Over the House as Their Purrsonal Property
Cats don't move in, they close on the property. No paperwork, no inspection, just one confident walk through the door and suddenly they're the homeowner. You might have signed the lease, but they clearly see themselves as the landlord. From that moment on, it's less of your place and more their purrsonal residence.
They set the house rules immediately. Doors must remain open at all times, chairs are first-come first-served (and they always come first), and any surface can become a designated cat zone without notice. You try to relocate them and get hit with a look that says that's not in the contract. It's their way or the hallway.
They also take their role seriously. Daily walk-throughs happen on their schedule. Slow, deliberate steps from room to room, occasional pauses to loaf in the middle of everything like a supervisor on site. If something is out of place, they'll inspect it. Quality control is clearly a full-time job.
After a while, you just accept it. You adjust your routine, work around their chosen spots, and respect the boundaries they've set. They're fully settled, completely comfortable, and running the show. You're not the owner, you're just lucky enough to live in their house.
'From won't let me near her to sleeping next to me': A nervous rescue cat shows an incredible transformation, trading hiding spots for cuddles and bedtime company
This couple adopted Méi, a 3-year-old calico who had already lived a full life before even getting to them. She had been found outside with three kittens, so it made sense that she came in cautious and unsure. In the beginning, she kept her distance, hiding most of the time, watching everything closely, and not fully relaxing. They were even told not to expect much closeness from her, which made those early days feel a little uncertain.
But things started to shift faster than expected. Within about ten days, she made her way onto the couch, sitting near them instead of staying hidden. She was curious, clearly wanting to be close, just not fully ready yet. Even while her owner was away, she recognized her voice on the phone and came looking for her, which says a lot.
Then came the real turning point. After being gently introduced to the bed, Méi came back on her own. Not just once, but over and over, climbing up, getting closer, settling in, and eventually sleeping right on top of her. Now she follows her around, chats constantly, and purrs like she has a lot to say.
It's the kind of progress that feels small on the outside but means everything for a cat like her. She went from always watching from a distance to choosing closeness on her own terms. Now she keeps coming back for more.
21 Meowers Who Have Absolutely No Thoughts
We're not saying that all cats are stupid or something. In fact, cats are highly intelligent and skilled! But for some reason there's a strange dissonance between their intellect and abilities, and their countenance. There's a common and unforgettable dumbfounded look on their face. They're constantly bewildered at something, and it seems like they mentally just arrived in this universe. They could have been elsewhere, but we'll never know it. But in a way, that's what makes them so cute, unique, and memorable. There's something so pure and innocent about their silly smiles, their tongues sticking out, and their eyes wide in shock at some invisible thing. They're playful and imaginative, and that's part of why we love them so much. There's endless amusement with cats solely because of that blank expression. They look at nothing, and it looks like nothing is inside their heads. One moment they're elegant, poised, and regal, but the next they're staring blankly at a wall as if they've completely forgotten what existence is. The juxtaposition is more than funny, so please, enjoy this tasteful dose of dissociated cat memes with no thoughts.
Couple rescues Maine Coon found shivering in neighborhood known for pet dumping, giving the big cat a loving furever home with a small canine sibling, cat dad says: ‘She’s obsessed with my gf and is even getting along well with her little dog.’
As we have come to find, the Cat Distribution System has some pretty out of the box ways of bringing the cats and hoomans it works with together. Sometimes it uses meet-cutes, other times it has cats literally walk into the homes of the hoomans it has chosen for them, and other times it apparently uses tactics like abandonment. Which while being rather traumatic, is quite the direct method, and in the case of this fur family the purrfect way for them to meet their new cat child.
It just goes to show that you can never quite tell how the CDS is going to bestow its great gifts upon you, and that you have to be aware and open to it coming from all sorts of different directions. So we invite you to step into this sweet and heartwarming cat family story so that you too might learn to recognize the signs that the CDS is reaching out to you.
25 Feline Funnies for Funny Folks Raising Ruckus Cat Kids
It's known that all cats are lovey-dovey love bugs. Cats purr, cats cuddle, cats like to be petted and won't leave your side until they feel you've given them enough love. But that's the default state we all know and love. Much like gremlins, though, some cats can sometimes turn into fluffy demons with what seems to be a Formula 1 engine powering them through the nightly zoomies.
Not every cat is a ruckus cat kid, but if you have one, you know exactly what we're talking about. Your house is full of meows that demand to be let up on the fridge and hunt a bug on the wall. Your house is turned into a racing track at 3 AM. Your house is the playground of the goblin with fur that lives there like they're the king or queen of this domain. Crazy cats are the best entertainment ever.
Since raising such a chaos gremlin might not be the easiest task, we usually like to pass the time until gremlin-mode is over by looking at some online feline funnies. It's essentially waiting until cuddle-time comes back, but with more cats. Because filling your time with cats is never a bad idea.
Woman left hurt and angry after trusting her mother-in-law to watch her cat, only to return from a week-long trip to a total nightmare: 'I feel guilty for leaving him in bad hands with someone I am supposed to trust.'
A Home Run of 22 Feline Tweets to Hit Your Caturday Out of the Park
Is there any smell sweeter than the fresh feline scent of Caturday? It's the day we can finally sleep in, spend a lazy day in bed if we want to, or enjoy an afternoon out to enjoy the new Spring weather. On Caturdays, though, we prefer to spend our free time with the ones who matter most to us - our cats. Maybe it's time for that dreaded grooming session (now that it's shedding season), purrhaps it's the day when you're finally going to deep clean the litter boxes, or just bed-rot with all your fluffy felines cuddled around you.
But we here at I Can Has Cheezburger want to put in a little extra effort to make your Caturday special. For it to feel like a home run of a day. Like all your traffic lights are meowgically green, or you find $20 in your pocket. And the best way for us to do that is to supply you with the funniest, the fuzziest, and the silliest feline tweets to hit your Caturday out of the park. They have everything a good Caturday needs: cats, giggles, and no effort wasted.
The only thing that would make this Caturday better would be a pile of kittens delivered right to your doorstep, and as much as we would love to send you one, that's actually quite a lot of work, and we're opposed to working on Caturdays. But as long as you scroll down and laugh at one or five of these hissterical tweets, then we can safely say that we've achieved our goal for today.
16-year-old cat known for being massive, combative, and getting banned from a Canadian municipality for crimes finally decides it's time to retire and chooses a single human, a cat and a puppy as his home
Life as a stray cat is hard. You have to look for shelter, look for food, face the weather. There is a lot to do, and although many cats do it, probably because they don't know much else, we, as owners of cats, know just how much happier they would be getting spoiled at home. Cats love their cozy blankets that they curl up in. Cats love cuddling with us - occasionally, when they deem us worthy. Cats love being fed endlessly, having as much water as they could ever need, and always having a warm spot to warm up in.
Some cats spend years outside, living that harsh life and facing every difficulty that comes with it. And these cats seem to like it. But there is a reason that house cats live longer, and some street cats come to that understanding. Like the Hound did. He understood that it is time to retire, and now, he is living his best life, being spoiled, loved and telling all of his stories, from inside a warm home.

23 Dramatic Pictures of Cats Caught Mid-Meow Delivering Their Meownologue
Cats meow like they've got a full speech prepared and you're the only audience that matters. It's not just a sound, it's a whole meownologue. Hungry, bored, mildly offended, or just checking in, they've always got something to say and zero hesitation about saying it loudly.
Some cats keep it short and sweet, a quick little meow and they're done. Others treat it like a full meowsical performance. They'll follow you from room to room, meow after meow, like you're in the middle of an ongoing conversation you didn't agree to join. You respond once and suddenly it's a full back-and-forth.
The tone changes everything. There's the polite meow, the dramatic meow, and the very loud, very urgent meow that makes it sound like a catastrophe is happening. Most of the time, it just means their bowl is not as full as they would like.
Some cats save their loudest meows for the most inconvenient times. The second you sit down, start working, or get on a call, they find their voice. Purrfect timing, every time.
They may not always make sense, but they always make noise.
'We decided we were back in the cat game': One CDS delivery turned into a four-cat household after a surprise litter, and they decided to keep them all together right where they belong
This family had moved out to the country years ago and never once saw a stray cat. Then, just a week after losing their cat, a tiny white cat quite literally dropped into their lives. On a day they almost wouldn't have been home, she tumbled down from a tree, walked right up like she belonged, and flopped over for belly rubs. Her collar was tangled, her leg caught, and they helped free her. From that moment, she stayed close.
They did everything they could to find an owner. Knocked on doors, posted online, had the vet check for a chip. Nothing. She was healthy, friendly, and clearly not going anywhere. Then came the surprise. She was pregnant. What started as one unexpected cat quickly became something much bigger.
About a month later, she gave birth to three kittens. Tiny, fluffy, and full of purrsonality right from the start. The idea of separating them didn't sit right, so they stayed together. The house filled up again, this time with four cats, and somehow it all made sense.
It really feels like the Cat Distribution System stepped in at exactly the right moment. Just when the house had gotten quiet, it filled it back up with life again. One little cat turned into a whole new chapter, bringing energy, chaos, and a lot of comfort with it.
21 Wholesome Memes of Cats Who Hit Purr Mode and Refuse to Turn It Off
Cats will purr like they invented comfort and are personally responsible for maintaining it. Sometimes it means they're happy, sometimes they're just cozy, and sometimes it feels like they're reminding you to slow down for a second. One minute they're circling for the perfect spot, the next they're fully settled, purring like a tiny machine that runs on snacks and attention.
They'll start purring over the smallest things. One quick scratch behind the ears and suddenly they sound like they're powering something important. Then the next time you try, nothing. Same cat, same spot, completely different response. It's like the purr is on its own schedule.
The sound itself has range. Some cats keep it quiet, just a soft little hum you barely hear. Others go full volume and make sure everyone in the room knows what's going on. Either way, once it starts, you kind of have to respect it.
They stretch out, settle in, and get comfortable like they're planning to stay there for a while. The purring keeps going, steady and calm, and everything else just pauses for a bit while they enjoy it.

25 Purrfesional Felines Coming for Your Job Before AI
It is not clear when these cats began taking up positions and replacing hoomans, but we have come to understand that the reason has to do with inflated prices of food and toys. Even in situations where cat children have two pawrents who both work, we are receiving reports that food and toy standards are sinking with each passing month. Meaning that if a cat child wants to maintain their quality of life, it is upon them to find a job themselves to help their pawrents make ends meet at the end of the month.
And while you might have assumed that most cats would turn their noses up at the idea of any kind of labor to earn their keep. It seems as though more than a few of these felines have stepped up to the plate and are set to take on a significant portion of the job market by next year.
A hungry kitten breaks into a woman's home and discovers the sibling he was separated from weeks ago: 'He sure broke into the right house!'
Such are the mysterious ways of the Cat Distribution System - we might never fully understand how it works exactly, but if we know only one thing about it that'll always satisfy us, it's that it never fails to match the right cat to the right hooman who will adopt them and give them a forever home. These ameowzing rates of success make us believe in the ways of the CDS, this curious entity that gives cats their needed homes, even if we don't know anything about it.
Some of the CDS adoption stories are really straightforward: a cat needs a home, a cat is given a home. But given the mysterious ways in which some of these adoption takes go, we're sure it's courtesy of the CDS installing the "must adopt / be adopted now" software in the souls of a cat or a person. And this one kitten's adoption story, brought to the online feline family by the woman who took him in, is no less than a dramatic take with twists and turns, that ends in a heartwarming happily ever after.
This kitten didn't only make his now-human chase him outside for a few days, but he also ended up adopting himself into the house. This woman was trying to get him inside for so long, to reunite with his kitten sibling who was already settling into the domestic lifestyle, but this orange rascal broke into the house on his own - all the more evidence of the CDS installation of the "adopt me!" software. Twists are turns we said, right?
26 Funny Photos of Felines Purrfect for a Pawsitive Pre-Weekend Pick-Me-Up
Fridays are both the best day of the work week and also the least productive. And because you're not very productive, it starts to get stressful. Stress is the last thing we want to feel when we're about to pounce into the weekend, so we need something to work against our negativity and get us feeling purrfectly pawsitive for the weekend. There are a few options we could choose from, ranging from spending $8 on an artisanal donut to scrolling on our phones all day, but we'll meet somewhere in the middle and enjoy a pre-weekend pick-me-up of funny feline photos.
When you think about it, cats are the best remedy for stress relief, especially for those of us who identify as feline fanatics. We don't use the term "crazy cat lady/purrson" around here, because it has been used for too many years to villainize and put down people who share a love for cats. There's nothing wrong with loving cats, even enjoying them more than people. Have you met "people" these days? If you had, you might understand why we like cats better.
Long story short, there's no better way to spend the next five minutes than to scroll through these hissterical cat pics for the purrfect purrk-me-up. That way, you can spring into the weekend like a cat on catnip, free of stress, worries, and leaving all your work behind.
23 Sleep-Sabotaging Smol Cat Memes in Midnight Zoomie Mode
Scrolling through funny cat memes is good at each and every single moment of the day. Whether you are at work, whether you're drinking coffee, if you're on the train. One of the best ways to fill the time is smiling and laughing, and that is what hissterical cat memes are for. But of course, the bestest time to scroll through cat memes like these is in bed, at night, when you should be sleeping. When you've doomscrolled for so long, you're officially sick of it, but you also can't sleep yet and don't want to go on social media for fear of seeing something that will put you off sleep even more. Cat memes are the solution.
Silly cat memes are always the solution. Scrolling through them during bedtime is like having a cat in and of itself. It sabotages your sleep slightly, but you also love it with all of your heart. Like a cat, these memes make us smile and laugh and fill our hearts with joy and pawsitivity, and there is no better way to go to sleep than that.
Couple names their newly adopted cat Karma after a series of coincidences causes her to adopt them on the street: 'This little darling came out and started rubbing up against my legs'
The CDS works on coincidences. That is something that we, as cat people who are online a lot, know for a fact. Story after story of coincidence after coincidence. Stories of the CDS delivering a kitten to a couple on a picnic at midnight. Stories of the CDS delivering a kitten to someone via the Starbucks drive-through. Stories of the CDS sending a kitten flying into her new owner's arms - literally flying in through the window. Dropped the kitty in, and the kitty never left.
It's always a coincidence, and the people that it happens to always feel like it is the most special thing in the world. Because it is. It is purrfect and special every single time. For the couple in this story, it took infinite coincidences to be adopted by this cat. They did things that day that they have never done, and they were rewarded by the universe with the best gift that it could give them - a kitty. And that kitty got the most appropriate name they could think of. Everyone, meet Karma.
How a tiny sweet kitten goes from being scared of to loving and cuddling with a super excited, energetic puppy
Cats and dogs can be best friends. A part of that thinks that this is obvious, but some people still truly believe that they cannot. We, as people who are chronically online, and specifically, chronically in all the cat and dog spaces online, have seen this countless times. Pictures, videos and stories about cats and dogs bonding, becoming inseparable.
Of course, there is a reason why these beliefs exist. It's true that cats and dogs are very different from one another. Just in the most basic thing, in the wagging of their tail - for a dog, the wagging of the tail is an indication of happiness, and for cats, it's an indication of curiosity at best and strong irritation at worst.
Usually, for a pair like that to become friends, cats and dogs need to grow up together. That way, they have enough time to learn the differences between one another, to find out the true meaning of all of them. Growing up together is not necessary, though. Some cats and some dogs are simply more patient than most, and they are able to use that patience to learn the meaning of each other's behavior later in life as well, without having to spend their childhoods together.
And sometimes… on rare and beautiful occasions, none of that is necessary. Sometimes, cats and dogs bond with one another instantly. They meet one another, and within no time, they are fast friends. They choose one another the same way that they choose their humans. That is what happened in this video.
The kitten and pupper here did not know one another, but they also did not need years to bond, to learn. They just needed a couple of minutes. The doggo, with his excitement and persistence, kept approaching the kitten. And then the kitten, after the initial shock of meeting him, realized that the excitement was just that, and it wasn't anything to be scared of. Just like that, within no time at all, this kitten went from fearing this puppy to cuddling with it. And yes, the cuddles are indeed as cute as you imagine.
