Cats with exceptionally long whiskers always seem to have a little extra character. The whiskers practically arrive before the cat does, stretching out in every direction and demanding their own share of attention. At a certain point, they stop being a facial feature and start becoming the star of the show.

Sometimes the Cat Distribution System works with remarkable efficiency. Over on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit, a cat with a snotty nose showed up looking for help and apparently decided he was done searching after one meal. A week later, he had already claimed a spot in the carport and worked his way into the hearts of the people caring for him.

The cat was taken to the vet, where he was estimated to be around 8 to 10 years old. The veterinarian suspected he may have been abandoned. He went home with antibiotics, steroids, and other medications, along with a new name: CC, short for Carport Cat.

CC wasted no time settling in. According to his new owner, he became friendlier than their indoor cats almost immediately. These days he follows them around the yard wherever they go, always wanting to be nearby. For a cat who may have spent years fending for himself, he seems more than ready to trade street life for wet food, attention, and a comfortable place to spend his golden years.

Senior cats often get overlooked, but stories like this are a reminder of how much affection they have to give. CC seems completely content with his new arrangement, and his humans sound just as happy with the unexpected addition to the family.

The owner summed it up best when they said this was the first time they felt adopted by a cat. Judging by CC's determination to stick close by, the feeling seems to be mutual.

Cats are family and should be treated as such. You cannot just toss them out when they get mildly sick. 

Unfortunately, that is something that happens more often than you would think. Some people shouldn't have pets. They are not ready for it. They are not ready for the weight of it, the responsibility that they would have over another creature. If your cat limping slightly is enough reason for you to abandon them, then you are not cat owner material. 

We've seen people abandon cats because they are sick, and it's suddenly "too expensive" and "not worth it". We have seen people abandon cats because they are pregnant, because they "didn't sign up for more than one", and instead of keeping the mother and finding homes for the kittens, it's easier to just toss them all out. But we think that this story from r/cats has to be one of the worst. The limping doesn't even affect the cat's movement that much. He's still walking around, still full of energy. It's just not quite as aesthetic, is it, to have a ragdoll cat who limps? So, they just gave up on him, like he didn't matter at all, because to them, he really didn't.

The internet can be exhausting sometimes. You open an app for one specific reason, and twenty minutes later, you're reading a comment section that has somehow turned into a full-blown argument between people you've never met. That's probably why cat content never goes out of style. No matter what's happening online, a picture of a cute cat usually feels like a nice reset button.

I've always thought part of the appeal is how effortlessly cats do their own thing. One minute they're sprinting through the house like they're being chased by invisible ghosts, and the next they're asleep in the same spot they were causing chaos five minutes earlier. Somehow, they make both behaviors look completely reasonable.

And every cat seems to have its own personality. Some are incredibly affectionate and want to be involved in everything you're doing. Others look mildly annoyed by the fact that you exist in the same room. Then there are the cats who do absolutely nothing except sit by a window or stretch out in a patch of sunlight, yet they're still somehow impossible to stop looking at.

There's something oddly reassuring about watching an animal live such a simple life.

Do your cats show signs of the 'tism?

One of the best parts of being a cat owner is getting to know all of your cattos' weird quirks. They might only drink water out of leftover mugs, maybe they sleep in between the couch cushions, or purrhaps they randomly choose when to listen to you and when not to (well, that sounds about normal, to be honest). All cats are weird little guys, but that's part of their feline charm. If we wanted a pet that was more or less predictable, we would have gotten a doggo!

But we would be lying if we said that all cats were the same level of weirdo (we say that in the most loving way pawssible). Some cats are the creme de la creme of quirky, and the fluffy cat, Simba, in our cat mom's post below from Reddit's r/Cats community, is one of them. She suspected something was wrong with him for a long time, to the point of bringing Simba to the vet and saying this:

"I think he has autism, what are our next steps?"

Firstly, we think it's hilarious that this cat mom would think her cat has the 'tism, because it's just a funny thought to have. Now, on with our story…

The vet examined Simba, checking for anything physically wrong with him, and came back with the most hissterical answer he could have: Simba was just deaf.

Fully embarrassed, the cat mom, her kid, and Simba left the vet and went home with their deaf cat, and lived happily ever after.

Growing up in the 90s, we didn't have any accurate representations of queer people on TV. If there was a queer character, they were always a degrading stereotype: flamboyant for a gay man, and overly-masculine for a lesbian. This led to us feeling ostracized and extremely alone as we tried to navigate who we were as we matured through life. We struggled with feeling left out, and like there was no place for us in this world. School was awful, especially in our younger years when kids can be brutal to others for simply being different. 

Luckily, our differences weren't physical, unlike the boy that we're representing from Reddit's r/MadeMeSmile community, who was born with heterochromia and a cleft lip. Heterochromia is a condition where your eyes are different colors, and it's extremely rare. In today's world, this condition would be celebrated and even envied, but back then, any sort of difference made you an outsider and a pawssible victim for the mean kids to pick on. 

His name is Madden, and he's from Oklahoma.

Madden, like us, felt alone in his early years. His parents could see that he needed a companion, a friend who wouldn't judge him for his appearance. So, they took him to an animal shelter to adopt a family cat. Call it fate, call it destiny, call it whatever you want, but Madden found a cat with heterochromia and a cleft lip. Needless to say, Madden chose this cat without a second of hesitation.

Now the two are best friends, and neither of them ever has to feel alone again.

Cat people are the funniest people online.

There's not a day going by that we're not almost cracking a rib from a hissterical post by yet another cat pawrent who showcases their cat's antics. Or the other, more creative kinds of cat pawrents who really make lemonade out of the lemons in their lives - their cats - like this one artist who claimed her cat opened an OnlyBeans account. And it's always the reaction of the online feline family that ties it all together in a funny feline package of clawmedy. Like this very cute and very fat cat, who made every commenter a comedian.

So it's no wonder that when a woman of r/adventurecats "admitted" she was seeing another… well, "man", behind her husband's back, we could feel the confusion behind some keyboards for the first minute. "Wait, am I in the right subreddit? Is this the relationship advice one? Why does it show as yet another subreddit?", and then when it dawns on all the online feline family "Oh… OH. Yeah, yes, this is definitely a legit date. No husband required."

Experiencing a Caturday with no cats is impawssible. It's like an essential thing is missing, and that makes everything uncomfortable. Like wearing shoes with no socks, smelling flowers when your nose is blocked from a cold, driving on a highway when there's clogged and slow traffic. Something's amiss. And a Caturday with no cats feels the same. Because it's just a plain and boring Saturday.

At just a few ounces, Lucky was already showing the determination that would earn him his name.

Lucky's story is the kind that instantly grabs your heart. Posted in Reddit's r/kittens subreddit, this tiny kitten was discovered while his future family was picking up hay. He was found alone, squirming away from the rest of his littermates, with no mother cat in sight. Given how young and fragile he was, nobody expected him to survive the first night.

Two weeks later, Lucky is proving everybody wrong.

After being bottle-fed around the clock, the little fighter has grown to 11 ounces and developed quite the personality. He is eating well, growing steadily, learning to walk, and exploring the world through his newly opened eyes. According to his rescuer, he has already become the bossiest member of the household. He loves belly rubs, purrs the moment someone touches his sides, and grabs at fingers whenever he wants more attention.

What makes Lucky's story so special is how determined he seemed from the very beginning. Even when the odds were stacked against him, he kept fighting. The name Lucky feels fitting, but it is only part of the story. Luck may have brought him to the right people, but his own determination helped carry him through those difficult first days.

Looking at the photos, it's hard to believe this confident kitten is the same lil baby shown in the final image. From a fragile newborn struggling to survive to a thriving kitten discovering the world, Lucky's journey is a reminder that sometimes the smallest fighters have the biggest hearts.

One thing cats are always going to do is stretch like they just completed a 12 hour shift doing manual labor.

Cats stretch like they are preparing for the most physically demanding event of their lives, even though they've spent the last fourteen hours asleep on a blanket. One tiny nap later and suddenly it is time for the full dramatic stretch routine. Front paws extended as far as possible, tiny toes spread out, back arched, and a huge yawn thrown in for extra flair.

Cats manage to stretch across an impossible amount of space. A ten-pound animal suddenly turns into a four-foot-long furry noodle taking up the entire couch. Cats act like stretching is an Olympic sport and they're training for gold.

The best stretches always happen in the most inconvenient places too. Right in the middle of a hallway. Across somebody's laptop keyboard. Directly on top of clean laundry. Cats love turning every stretch into a full-body blocking maneuver that nobody can walk around without being guilt-tripped.

Every cat parent knows that starting the weekend with a cat is the best.

Last Friday, when we went back home, each to their own cat (because we're all obviously cat parents here), everyone started their weekend in their own cat way. While one is going home early enough to catch some sunlight and go on a leashed walk with their cat, another arrives home after dark, cuddling their cat until they fall asleep. Every cat parent has their own way of celebrating the start of the weekend.

Since Friday is already here again, we're going to celebrate yet another workweek ending, and another wholesome whiskered weekend starting. We just want to stop for a few minutes and reflect on how ameowzing it is to start every weekend with a cat by your side. It means extra snuggles, extra floof, and definitely extra treats you'll have to give them. And it's all so wholesome.

What would you do if a stray cat waltzed into your home and gave birth?

Recently, TikToker Elliot Norris moved into a new home. His life has been remodeling and traveling, because he loves to travel. However, soon after moving in, he befriended a local stray cat. He started feeding her, and she started showing up several times a day. Then, all of a sudden, after coming home from a two-day trip, she comes by, goes right into his home, and starts to give birth in his guest room. 

Why doesn't this sort of thing happen to me? I love cats and kittens! I would make a great kitten doula. I mean, I would have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm great at researching, and I know people I can call who can help. Excuse me Cat Distribution System, when is it MY turn??

The birth went swimmingly, the kittens are all healthy and growing beautifully, and their mama has now found her furever home with Norris. 

Have you ever held a kitten?

Strangely, not every human being has experienced the truest bliss of cradling a tiny, mewing kitten in the palm of their hand. While simultaneously worrying that you might crush this delicate, adorable flower, the kitten reminds you instantly that they're not to be trifled with, biting your fingers and scratching your forearms with enough force to take down an elephant. Yet, despite yourself, you must remain dignified and supurremely gentle. 

This feisty, sensitive, adorable kitten must be pawtected at all costs. 

If cat lovers weren't swayed by the charms of a kitten before ever holding it, once that furry feline touches your hands with their tickly whislers or nuzzles into the crook of your neck, it's all over. Cats and kittens know and understand that the greatest power lies in their cuteness. Too small to do real damage and too impulsive to formulate a really villainous plan, cats keep their cuteness on a simmer, ready to wield at any moment to get the humans to do their bidding. 

And we will gladly comply. 

We love a Good Samaritan who saves a cat!

We can't imagine the stress and horror a person who has lost their cat goes through. Searching by foot, posting online, calling shelters and vet offices - cat pawrents would do anything to find their cats and bring them home. Cats are our family, and that's very clear. It was also clear to one woman whose cat was found by a kind man from the r/notmycat community. She searched for her cat for over 24 hours, and as cat pawrents ourselves, we can't even imagine what she had gone through.

Our beloved cat once fell from the third-floor window and disappeared. We were devastated, but that lasted for a couple of hours, until we found her under a bush, scared, confused, and hurt. We took her to the vet, of course, and it has been a good few years since then. But we can't imagine going through a 24-hour search, not knowing where our cat is.

Sometimes, you find love in the most unexpected of places.

Firstly, we have to say that we are obsessed with pawrents who take their cats on stroller rides. It's so cute. And who knew that such a heartwarming activity could lead to one of the cutest rescues we've seen from Reddit's r/Kittens subreddit?

On one of her daily evening stroller walks with her orange cat, Floki, our cat lover below heard a kitten "screaming its head off" as they walked by. Thanks to Floki, who responded more loudly to the kitten the closer they got, she eventually found the seriously smol gray kitten hiding in a patch of tall grass in a dark alley.

There's never a "right time" to find a cat, especially a young one who, technically, still needs their mom to help them do basic things, like go to the bathroom. But, if we waited for the right time to do everything, we would never achieve anything in life. When there is an abandoned baby right there in front of you, you don't think about the proper timing. You act first and ask questions later.

Are you ready for your weekly dose of heartwarming Friday felines?

Fridays are tricky because you feel like they should be the easiest day of the work week, but they're not. Your brain is working at an all-time low capacity because you're exhausted from Monday (and Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday), you have no drive to get any of your work done (see previous example), and you're daydreaming of being in bed with your cats. We get it. We're right there with you. The day keeps pounding you with teams calls,  passive-aggressive messages from your managers, and a clock that seems to move at a glacial pace.

It's enough to make anyone stand up, quit, and walk out without saying bye to anyone.

But if you do that, who will pay for your cat's weekly delivery of premium wet food? Who will get their luxury cat couch reupholstered? Who will pay for their self-cleaning automatic litter box? They don't have anyone but you, and these bills won't pay themselves.

So, we must resign ourselves to actually doing our work, but not before we scroll through our weekly purrscription of heartwarming Friday felines and a healthy portion of sweet feline silliness. These funny felines give us a meowment of softness in our pawsitively challenging day, and make us smile when the world tries to bring us down.
