Once you fall in love – whether it be with a person, a place, a hobby, or an animal – there's really no going back. 

A man was in a gas station parking lot, minding his own business and filling up gas. Back story – he has at home a wife, two dogs, and a senior cat, but all of these things couldn't stop him from spotting a lonely and innocent tortie cat. Someone must have abandoned her there, dumped her at a gas station without anything to help her. He took her in and made every attempt to find her home. No one claimed her, and he had only one choice. He took her to the vet, got her cleaned up and in good health, and decided she was his. She stole his heart during the time he mended her health. 

And on the bright side she didn't just steal his heart, but she stole the heart of his other pets as well. His two dogs loved her instantly, there wasn't any fear or hostility. His senior cat is very patient with her. He says she loves being in the car (unique for a cat), and is very affectionate. He and his wife are in love with her, and the internet salutes his saving her. One cat distribution system at a time. 

Zzzzz…shh, I'm sleeping…

Sleep: the mystical state of unconscious; the much needed autonomic ritual for every species rest and digest. There's not an animal in the world who doesn't sleep, and that includes hoomans. Have you ever wondered how much your cats sleep? Sometimes it seems as if they just sleep all day. They have not a care in the world, as we go through cycles of suffering, work stresses, relationships spats, internal and existential struggles of the soul. And all the while our cats are just drifted off to dreamland. Our cats are so wholesome and cute that we really do anything for them, even go through sleepless nights so they get their 4 am treat. They can keep us up with their midnight zoomies, their meowing in the night, or their demand for breakfast when you're just reaching REM. But we do it because we love them, despite how much we love and need sleep. If you're someone who's just a little sleep deprived, running on half battery because of a whiskered furball, we have just the collection of soft smol kittens in a slumber.

This one guitarist, who has just gained the title of "cat dad", got all his answers from other guitar players with feline family members. And honestly? It's everything on the spectrum of Pawdorable to Rock & Roll!

Fast forward three years and that small bundle of mystery has grown into a 7kg cuddle professional with a full-time job in emotional support. Bumby does not just hang around, he commits. He follows from room to room like a shadow with opinions, supervises daily tasks like a tiny manager, and treats every available lap like reserved seating. If you sit down, congratulations, you have been selected.

The cat distribution system does not miss, and Bumby is proof of a flawless shipment. What started as a surprise doorstep appearance turned into a permanent, purring presence that runs the house with quiet confidence. From unexpected arrival to full-blown family member, this is the kind of story that just feels right. Absolute purrfection from start to finish.

This was not the spa day they had in mind. 

Cats in a bubble bath look like they weren't informed this was happening. One minute everything is fine, next minute they're sitting there surrounded by bubbles like this is their new reality. Wet fur, wide eyes, full confusion. Not exactly spa day energy, more like an unexpected appointment they didn't book.

As I said, cats don't necessarily need us humans to survive, but gosh, are their lives better for it if we do step in to be their lifelong servants. And when kittens are cute in their beds, cuddle their catnip toys, and gnaw at the edges of a feather stick, humans can't help but swoon at their adorableness and kneel to their every whim and need. 

The hierarchy of cuteness starts and ends with kittens, so if cat lovers are ever summoned into duty to care for, love, and kiss the foreheads of a kitten, they must take action. Let the CDS choose your next cat, because if you're in the right place at the right time, you may be rewarded with the sweet nothings of a mewing, smol angel.

Spending your weekend as a peasant in your cat's kingdom, on which they rule with an iron paw, is the best weekend experience - because cats make everything better. It's not just a Saturday that you're experiencing, it's a Caturday. And by any measure pawssible, a Caturday is much better than a Saturday. Believe us, it's science. At least under the decree of our own fluffy feline overlord, ruling our house from their cushion throne.

In therapy, we learned about listening to our "inner child" and how to heal them. Through that, we discovered that they're actually a cat purrson, and pleasing them was pawsitively simple.

Therapy has become much more common nowadays than it was 20 years ago. There was a time when therapy was seen as something for sick people, but now, it's become a purrfectly common tactic to help people deal with the stresses of their lives. Depending on the type of therapy you go to, you'll either unpack your relationship with your family, or try to break destructive habits and form newer, healthier ones. You might even learn about the concept of your "inner child".

Your inner child holds early emotional experiences, needs, and patterns from childhood, which can all affect how we see the world as adults. How you handle relationships, what triggers you emotionally, and how you view your self-esteem. We did some digging and communicating with our inner child in therapy, and we learned one very impurrtant part about them: that they love cats. Cats bring us joy that we can only equate to a kid getting a new toy. They light up all the happy parts of our brains, and yeah, it really is that simple.

People sometimes choose not to adopt cats for the strangest reasons, and it is their loss. Because they end up skipping out on some of the most loving, sweetest cats out there. 

There are always some cats who stay in shelters for longer than others. Usually, the reason cats are in shelters for a long time is simply because they are cats rather than kittens. The second a cat passes the age of one, it is considered "old" in shelters - more difficult to adopt. Other times, it's even more upsetting reasons. People don't adopt cats who are "ugly". Shelters sometimes label cats badly, telling people, "this is the worst cat in the world," and then wondering why that cat is not finding a home. 

There is no such thing as a "bad cat", only a cat who has not found the right human yet. The blind cat in this story was skipped out on not because of its blindness but because it looks "weird", according to other people. 

If you live with a cat, you already know one universal truth: personal space is merely a suggestion. These tiny fluffy overlords have absolutely no concept of boundaries, only opportunities. Whether it is sitting directly on your face, walking across your keyboard mid email, or claiming your lap the second you get comfortable, they treat your space like their own personal playground. Honestly, we would not have it any other way, even if we cannot feel our legs anymore.

Cats are mighty little beings, but when the thunder goes boom, and the lightning goes crash, all of that feline bravery goes straight out the window. 

Like dogs on the 4th of July or little kids at a circus funhouse, cats lose all sense of decorum, direction, and dignity when there's a storm outside. But the power of brotherhood and the love of many cat enthusiasts brought this scaredy cat home again, this time to his furrever home. 

A second chance turned into the best kind of glow-up for these two kittens. 

These two kittens got a real second chance, and they ran with it. After being rescued from a tough situation, they spent time getting the care they needed and slowly started to come back into themselves. It wasn't instant, but with patience, consistency, and a lot of attention, they kept improving day by day.

By the time they made it home, they were ready for something new. They joined a full house of furry siblings and quickly became part of everyday life. There were bowls always filled, soft spots claimed within minutes, and plenty of attention to go around. They were not just settling in. They were stepping into a completely different kind of life.

You can see how much they have changed in the way they look now. They're more relaxed, more playful, more curious. Whether it is stretching out in a sunny spot or following the rest of the crew around, they look like they know they are exactly where they are meant to be.

Now they are fully living the spoiled kitten life. Loved, safe, and surrounded by everything they need, plus a little extra. It is the kind of outcome that feels really good to see, watching them go from uncertain to completely at home.

The second you start cooking the cat clocks in.

Cats become sous chefs the second you step into the kitchen. No training, no invitation, just immediate involvement. You turn around and there they are on the counter, already in position. Watching closely. Supervising. Full purrfessional energy like they've been hired for this exact role.

They take quality control very seriously. A bag opens and they're instantly involved. You start chopping, they lean in. You stir something, they shift closer. Every move gets inspected. If anything drops, they're on it before it even hits the floor. Very meowthodical. Very hands-on. Nothing happens without their approval.

They also have strong opinions about where they should be, which is always exactly where you need to work. The counter space you just cleared is now occupied. You move them, they come right back. You try again, same result. Clearly this is a collaboration, and they're not giving up their spot in the kitchen.

And at the end, they expect compensation. A taste, a treat, something for their effort. In their mind, they supervised, inspected, and assisted every step of the way. A full shift completed. Just another successful day in the culicatary world.

Toe beans are the main event every time. 

Toe beans are doing way too much for something that small. A cat is just lying there, then one paw stretches out and suddenly it's a full bean situation. Tiny little pads, perfectly lined up, like they showed up just to steal the spotlight. You were not planning to care this much, but here we are.

They also look extremely touchable, which is a trap every single time. The second you even think about going near them, the paw disappears. Gone. Tucked back in like it was never there. No warning, no second chance, just a quick flash of beans and that's all you get.

Meanwhile, those same paws are responsible for everything else. Quiet little steps across the floor, then ten minutes later something is getting pushed off a table for no reason. Same feet. Same beans. Completely different behavior. The beans stay cute through all of it like they're not connected.

And when you do get a full stretch, it's over. Two paws, maybe four, full bean lineup like a limited time event. Doesn't last long, but it doesn't need to. It already did enough.
