I love a chill weekend day with my cat, and silly cats are like the icing on top of it all.

There's nothing that wins the calm and relaxation that I get from this exact situation: It's a weekend day, I woke up late because it's the day to forget that alarm clocks exist, and my cat trots into the room doing that cute "mrrp?" questioning sound as if she's asking, "Are you finally awake?" And I'm so glad to tell her, "Yes, I am… Come here, you little princess." And my cat jumps on me while I'm still in bed, only to settle on my belly, purring like she's never purred before, only for me to stay in bed for another hour just petting her. That's what weekends are about.

But then there's even a better situation (hard to believe, I know). That's when I can wriggle one of my hands from under the blanket and reach for my phone, so I can check the newest batch of Caturday cat content. One hand petting my void princess, purring on me like it's her spa day, and the other checking for the best cat pawsts and pictures to lift my mood up with meowing memes. That's such a purrfect combination, and I honestly wish every cat pawrent could experience it for themselves.

And since I have such a great platform, literally the best cat site in the world, I'm about to share this opportunity with all of you - my fellow feline fans and cat pawrents. I searched the web far and wide, so you don't have to, so I can present to you the silliest cat pictures of this week. All you have to do is chill with your cat, one hand petting them and giving them the best relaxation day they've had, and with your other hand look for more and more cat silliness. The more cats in the weekend, the better. So might as well start here.

There is hardly a sadder tale than that of a senior feline who has found themselves thrown out onto the hard knock streets. After spending close to a decade by their original pawrent's side it is now up to them to start life anew and renew their purrpose.

That is unless they are lucky enough to get scooped up by a cat loving hooman. Which is pretty much what happened to the senior feline in this story who was initially assumed to be a feral feline. A product of being on the streets for a short while and her advanced age made this catto look a little worse for wear. But before long it would become apparent that this cat was actually once someone's fur baby and had spent most of her life enjoying the luxury life indoors. This of course was discovered when a chip was found in the cat and her original owner was contacted. But what came next was the tough part.

For days this original owner strung our rescuer along, promising to come and pick up the kitten. But as messages were left on read and time passed it appeared that no sort of pick up was going to happen. And this is a point we would like to touch upon. Of course it is understandable to feel ashamed that you cannot continue to care for your cat for one reason or another, and doubly so for dumping your cat instead of rehoming, and triply so when a rescue contacts you to come collect the cat you discarded. But we want to tell anyone out there who has been in this position, or might unexpectedly find themselves in this position that the best thing you can do for the cat is to be honest. Sure, it might come with some hate, but hopefully with your honest others will understand and at the very least quicker action can be taken to find the feline the purrfect home.
 

Good dads are not so easy to come by. When you find one, don't let him go. 

Dads aren't notorious for being involved, or overbearing, or necessarily emotional. But sometimes you find that rare father who wants to help, wants to talk, and who has the emotional capacity of anyone else. When it comes to saving animals, this instinct might kick in, just like it did in the story here below. This man does not like cats. He's not a cat person, and only tolerates his wife's cats. He was out walking the dog one day and found this little weak baby kitten on the sidewalk. She really was weak, and she didn't even move when they walked over to her. He didn't let his preconceived notions about cats or his opinion of them get in the way of right and wrong though. He doesn't leave anyone behind, no matter if they're cat, woman, child, dog, or pig. He scooped her up and took the little baby home. 

The family is still deciding what to do with her, if they'll keep her or try to find a foster. But at least we know she's off the streets and in a better place, which is all we can ask for abandoned street cats. When you find a kitten in trouble, the best thing you can do it just take it home because you could be saving a life. They're also going to take her to the vet and check for a chip. Their knack for finding a small spot is just as ridiculous as their obsession with staying there to chill or sleep. What is it about these uncomfortable places that keeps them going back for more? We may never know the reason, but all we know is that no corner, banister, or balance beam is safe…

Besides the chaos that cats bring, there's something so comforting about them too. Their cute faces and whiskers, big pointed ears and innocent eyes make them appear to be more baby like than they are. When they're loving, they're very very loving. But they're still cats, which means they're capricious and temperamental. There's no reason to judge them for it though, as long as you know where you stand. As the slave who feeds them tuna while they sleep in your bed whilst you work a 9-5 just begging for the weekend to come for a meowment of peace, of relaxation, and of rest.

Some cats are born with royal energy. They expect doors to be opened for them, meals to arrive exactly on time, and every empty lap to become their personal throne. Put a crown on one of those cats, and suddenly everything just makes sense. They've been waiting for the rest of us to catch up all along.

These regal felines wear their crowns like they've ruled the kingdom for years. One sits tall, looking over the room with an expression that says everyone is doing an acceptable job... for now. Another looks ready to issue a royal decree demanding more treats, a cleaner litter box, and at least three uninterrupted hours of beauty sleep. Every glance feels like it's being judged, and somehow you still want their approval.

Royal life doesn't stop when the crown comes off, either. The finest throne might be a cardboard box, a laundry basket, or the highest shelf in the house. Every hallway becomes a grand entrance, every nap a scheduled appearance, and every dramatic meow a reminder that the palace staff has fallen behind on their duties. Their loyal subjects don't question it. They simply refill the food bowl and continue with their assigned responsibilities.

Some rulers lead with elegance. Others lead with pure chaos. Either way, these crowned kitties carry themselves like they're one generation removed from the royal family and expect to be treated accordingly. The only proper greeting is a respectful "Your Majesty," followed by whatever snack they've decided they're entitled to at that exact moment. One look at these royal fluffballs, and it's pretty clear the kingdom is in very capable paws.

Every gamer knows the real final boss has four paws.

The second a controller comes out or a keyboard starts clicking away, cats suddenly remember they have very important responsibilities. It doesn't matter if you've ignored them all day. The moment you're focused on a game, they decide it's time for a quality assurance inspection of your entire setup.

Some felines are content with supervising from your lap, purring like they've been hired to provide the soundtrack. Others prefer a more paws-on approach. They'll step on the keyboard, swat at the mouse, sniff every button on the controller, and somehow manage to block the exact part of the screen you actually need to see. It's impressive how consistently they can ruin your timing.

Then there are the cats who believe every gaming accessory was secretly bought for them. Headsets need chewing. Mousepads make excellent napping spots. RGB keyboards clearly exist because someone wanted to build the world's fanciest heated cat bed. Expensive gaming chair? That's just premium feline seating with a convenient human attached.

Of course, they'll act completely offended if you dare move them. You're the one interrupting their gaming session, after all. They were perfectly comfortable sprawled across the WASD keys, and now you're expecting them to relocate just because your teammates are waiting? Sounds like a you problem.

Still, every gamer secretly knows the session is better with a furry sidekick nearby. Sure, you might lose a match because a tail covered half the minimap or a paw hit the Escape key at the worst possible moment, but those are the memories that end up being funnier than the game itself. Gaming gatos may never climb the leaderboard, but they'll always earn MVP for keeping every session entertaining.

This orange kitten may have started life alone, but he won't be growing up that way.

When a tiny orange kitten was discovered all alone near a parked firetruck, his rescuer hoped he wasn't the only one left behind. They searched the area repeatedly, looking for his mother and any littermates that might have been hiding nearby. Nothing. With no other cats in sight, the tiny kitten was brought to safety and given a fitting name: Chimney Smoke-Stack.

The next stop was the veterinarian, where everyone got the news they had been hoping for. Chimney Smoke-Stack was healthy and ready for his next chapter. His rescuer was already attached, but there was one obstacle. Bottle babies need constant care, and balancing full days between work and school made that impossible right now.

Thankfully, someone in the family was ready to step in.

The rescuer's boyfriend's sister, who has experience fostering bottle-fed kittens, happily welcomed Chimney Smoke-Stack into her home. She'll care for him while he's still tiny and dependent on bottle feedings, giving him exactly what he needs until he's old enough to move in with his forever family.

It's the kind of rescue that reminds you how many people it can take to save one small life. One person spotted him. Someone searched tirelessly to make sure no family had been left behind. An experienced fosterer opened her home without hesitation. Now Chimney Smoke-Stack gets to grow up surrounded by people who already adore him instead of facing the world alone.

Chimney Smoke-Stack may have started his journey with no one by his side, but that's no longer his reality. He has a name, a safe place to grow, and a future already waiting for him. For a kitten who was found completely alone, that's the best outcome anyone could ask for.

And maybe, just maybe, if something in our house is out of place, we just knock it to the floor. For mental health purposes. But before all of that, we have to start the day on the right paw, with a recap of all the cat things that we missed this week. That is what the weekly Caturday meowgazine is for.

She was used, thrown out like trash, and desperate to find a home where she would truly learn what family means. 

The cruelty of some humans will never cease to amaze. Here we are, people who love animals as a whole and cats in particular, doing everything that we can to make sure that their lives are as good as they can be. Here I am, creating whole neighborly friendships over the neighborhood cats that I feed, meeting new people who care too, bonding over each and every adorable stray cat that walks into our neighborhood, taking them to the vet for TNRs, paying money out of my own pocket. Here is my best friend, fostering cats, helping them get ready for their forever homes, insisting that every cat get a truly good family. And I know that the people in our audience, the ones reading this right now, are trying their best to help in every way they can too. Because that is what decent people do.

And then, there are people like the ones in today's story. People who treat cats like trash and then abandon these cats like trash too. People who don't deserve to experience looking at a cat, let alone anything else. The kitty in this story did nothing to deserve being bred and abandoned. She was just unlucky enough to meet one of the bad humans. It's amazing that she didn't lose hope, that she actually went out of her way to find other humans and try to trust again. And it's just as amazing that this couple, two days before their wedding, amongst all the preparations and nerves, was ready to take this poor kitty in, adopt her into their home, and give her a real chance to learn what a real family means. 

When the feline fate calls, a cat person will answer.

If a cat adoption story feels like fate, as if destiny made a specific person meet the one cat who needed a forever home - and they had their place in their house and heart to give them one - it's most likely true. Well, mostly. It's usually the work of the mysterious CDS - the Cat Distribution System. It's that strange and secretive order, or body, or organization (nobody knows!) that's made ot match the cat in need to the right person. The match is usually purrfection. And that's exactly what makes us think that this one orange shelter cat found his home through the hidden helping hands of the CDS.

You see, it's really not every day that a cat who's considered for euthanasia is saved in the nick of time because a vet tech finds him similar to her previous cat, who has recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. Was their fateful meeting a coincidence? Maybe. Is it too purrfect to be true? Perhaps. But is this a story worth telling because of the sheer happiness it can bring to any cat person who reads it? Absolutely. And this is exactly why we love to be the beacon of wholesome adoption stories, where cats find their forever homes, and the collective joy of the online cat community grows - one adoption at a time.

But this is not the only reason why we think that this one adoption story is worth the spotlight. It's not just the vet tech who saw something in the eyes of this senior cat, who was afraid and alone at the shelter, that made her take him home and save him. It's what he had to endure before arriving at the shelter. You see, many cats brave tragedies - and this one had to witness the worst one of them all. This cat's previous owner suddenly passed away (to say it gently), and he found himself at the shelter - after being a house cat - because no one wanted to foster him. That's a true tragedy to endure.

But the cat gets his happy ending. That's all we care about.

Cats have basically taken over the digital world, but ironically, ploughing through it all to find the good stuff isn't always easy.

Every self-respecting cat lover needs their daily fix of pawdorable fluffy feline content, and honestly, that goes double for people who don't even consider themselves "cat people". I'll admit it right away: I've always been a dog person. Growing up, I never really understood the appeal of cats. Dogs wear their emotions on their sleeves. They're excited when you get home, they follow you around the house, they want to play, and they somehow manage to turn every ordinary moment into a celebration. Cats, on the other hand, always seemed impossible to read. They looked like they were silently judging everyone from across the room, and I could never figure out whether they wanted attention or wanted to be left alone.

Part of that probably comes from how I was raised. My parents never liked cats, so we never had one. They always said dogs were friendlier, more loyal, and easier to understand. When that's the only perspective you hear growing up, you don't really question it. You just assume cats aren't for you. Looking back, I realize I never gave them much of a chance.

As I got older, though, a lot of my friends became cat owners. Every time I visited them, I'd hear the same speech about how misunderstood cats are. They'd tell me their cat greeted them at the door, followed them from room to room, or insisted on sitting beside them while they worked. I was skeptical at first because it sounded suspiciously dog-like, but after meeting enough different cats, I started to understand what they meant. They're affectionate in their own way. You just have to earn it instead of expecting it immediately.

Even so, if someone asked me to choose, I'd still pick a dog every single time. That's probably never going to change. But I've also learned that cats have something dogs don't. They're effortlessly funny without even trying. The strange sleeping positions, the dramatic expressions, the random bursts of energy, and the way they somehow become the center of attention in every photo make them perfect internet celebrities.

The forecast called for rain... and an extra helping of cat cuteness.

Rainy days are no match for a little feline charm. One cat is puffing up in disbelief after touching a wet sidewalk, another is strutting around in a tiny raincoat like it's the latest runway trend, and somewhere a fluffy orange troublemaker is convinced the weather should apologize personally. If cats controlled the forecast, every storm would end after exactly three raindrops.

Tiny raincoats deserve a round of appaws all on their own. Bright yellow, cherry red, or covered in little ducks, they somehow make every cat look even more dramatic. The raincoat might say "ready for adventure," but the face underneath usually says, "This had better earn me extra treats."

Rain clearly wasn't part of their plans.

When the clouds roll in, cats remind everyone that staying cozy is an art form. A warm blanket, a dry place to loaf, and plenty of opportunities to judge the weather from indoors sound like a pretty purrfect plan. The rain can keep falling outside. Inside is where the real meowgic happens, complete with sleepy stretches, twitching whiskers, and enough fluff to brighten even the grayest day.

This little kitten wasn't about to wait for an application to be approved.

Just as one cat lover started thinking about fostering kittens, the Cat Distribution System made the decision a whole lot easier. Before they even had the chance to bring it up with their partner, a tiny stray appeared on the porch, curled up beside their two resident cats as if he'd already decided he belonged there.

The little visitor had clearly been through a lot. His fur was full of burrs, twigs, spider webs, fleas, ticks, and all the evidence of life outside. He was heartbreakingly skinny, but from the moment he was found, he never stopped wanting attention. With every meal, every nap on a warm heating pad, and every gentle cuddle, he seemed a little more comfortable than the day before.

After finally making it to the vet, the news was encouraging. Aside from a few common issues that come with living on the streets, the tiny kitten was expected to recover well. Even though he was much smaller than he should have been for his age, he had a healthy appetite, an even healthier purr, and all the signs of a kitten ready to leave his rough start behind.

He still doesn't have a name, but he already has plenty of people rooting for him. It's hard not to smile at the timing of it all. After spending days wondering whether fostering was the right next step, this little guy showed up on the porch and answered the question himself. Whether he ends up becoming a forever family member or the first of many foster kittens, one thing is certain: he picked exactly the right house to ask for help.

Gather round, cat parents, because this one's an impawrtant thing you must familiarize yourself with - in case the worst happens and your cat gets lost.

No one ever want ot think of the possibility that their cat is going to just disappear one day. It's the nightmare of any cat pawrent. And we don't talk about a senior cat who crosses the rainbow bridge - that's no less sad, but at least this is an anticipated event you can mentally prepare yourself for to some degree. But yes, it's still one of life's saddest events. It's just that losing a cat in any way is sad - especially if it's sudden. You have your cat, you love your cat, your cat loves you, and just like that… where is the cat? When a cat goes missing, it's a tragedy full of searching and stress. And the even-sadder reality is that some people take advantage of this harsh situation.

As this one cat owner discovered the hard way when her cat went missing, some people care for absolutely nothing when it comes to the distress she was in (and her cat, probably). They lie, they cheat, and they try to extort money out of the worrying pawrents, using the difficult emotional state they're in to get it. Luckily for this cat pawrent, she had the right call to turn to the online feline family and ask: Is this a scam? Because the resounding answer she got was that, yes, this one's absolutely a scam, and she should stay away from these people. Her searching energy needs to be reserved for actually finding her cat, and give these scammers zero attention.

What happens, usually, is that scammers try to find lost pets posts and then contact the person searching for their beloved lost animal companion. They claim they have it (which is so much easier with faked AI images in this day and age), and then ask for a monetary reward to give the pet back. Note that they'll never ask for cash, and outright refuse it - because they don't actually have anyone's cat, dog, or whatever pet. They'd do anything to twist the worried pet owner emotionally, saying they'll have to put the cat back on the street. But luckily for this one woman, she realized the cat was never at the scammer's place. And what's even better? The cat came back home safe. We love a happy ending.

Some cat people simply adore cats from a distance. Others have it far worse (or better, depending on how you look at it): they're actually run by an inner soul cat, some feline puppeteer pulling the strings like a bonus character straight out of an Inside Out sequel.

If you happen to fall into that second category, you already know the drill better than anyone could explain it to you. There's the never-ending pull toward a 16-hour nap schedule, the relentless and borderline spiritual quest for the one purrfect sunbeam to melt into, and of course, the snacks. Always the snacks. That craving isn't really you talking - it's your inner cat, narrating your every move. It's your inner cat pacing the room for no reason, curling up mid-thought for an impromptu nap, and swatting whatever important thing you were trying to remember clean off the mental counter, purely because it felt like it in the moment. That, more than anything, is what it truly means to be a cat person: equal parts loving cats endlessly and quietly being run by one from the inside.

But just as we mentioned, being a cat person comes in two flavors. Yes, your soul might be steered by a slightly feral and deeply dramatic inner cat, but that's honestly not a bad thing at all. If anything, it just means your love for cats runs deeper than most, woven right into who you are. And loving cats? That's never a flaw. That's never something to apologize for. Loving cats, inner soul cat and all, is simply a pawfect way to move through life.

Friday is already a meowgical day. It's the day before Caturday, of course - the day before we're free, the day during which we can already see the light at the end of the workweek with freedom calling our name. It's one of the most special days of the week, but in some ways, it's also one of the worst days. Because freedom is so close, yet it is still so far. Friday feels like the longest workday, even more than Monday. More than ever, we need a pick-me-up. Something pawsitive. Something uplifting. Something that will make us smile. All cats have strange hiding spots. You, as a cat owner, learn that sooner or later. I learned that later. I didn't know just how agile my chonky cat is when it comes to hiding. A giant fly will be sitting right next to her, begging her to catch it, and she will not move. Too lazy. But climbing inside of an open cabinet above the sink because there is a slight chance of finding a piece of bread in that cabinet, then staying there because it's comfy or something, and giving her momma a heart attack… well, that's easy for her. If that hasn't happened to you yet, it will. We promise. One day, everything will be completely normal, and then, you will find your cat behind the fridge or something. 

Sometimes, these hiding places really are impressive. Other times, our cats are hiding right under our noses. That was the case with today's panicked cat owner. One moment, everything was fine. The next moment, they couldn't find their cat. The cat, of course, didn't bother helping them. The cat let them go on panicking, sitting quietly in their hiding spot, enjoying life as usual. Meanwhile, the owner was outside looking for them and unknowingly changing their whole life. Because they did find a cat outside - a cat they thought was their cat - except it wasn't. The kitten they found was completely different, but that kitten liked the thought of being spoiled rotten for the rest of its life in a warm home, and now that the opportunity presented itself, they were not going to give up on it. And so instead of finding their own cat, this person ended up bringing a second one home. 

Growing up means realizing that it is much more fun to spend the evening scrolling through cute cat pictures with a fluffy feline cuddled up in your lap than going clubbing ever was. 

Things change when you get older. You realize that some things are more important than others. There used to be a time when meeting up with your friends to party till the little hours of the night was the norm. Skipping a night of sleep was okay every once in a while if it meant creating memories and laughing till your face hurts. But somewhere along the way, something changes, and you realize that spending time at home, cuddled up with your cat, taking care of your mental health, and spending time with the people that you love are the things that actually matter. 

And maybe you mourn that change. Maybe you think that you should be more energetic, like you used to be. We're here to tell you that's not true. It's so important to take care of yourself and to find joy in the little things. Take those extra five minutes in the morning to scroll through some cute cat pictures.
