Once you've been dating for so long, it becomes harder and harder to break up.

It's never easy to go through a breakup, but especially hard when you share animals together. They have three cats – Tuxedo (4-years-old), Void (3-years-old), and Tabby (8 months old). His initial thought was that the older two would go with her and he'd keep the youngest. But he's really grown attached to the cats, and the thought of losing both the older cats is hurting him. The Void cat is his baby, but the Tuxedo cat is hers, but the Tuxedo and Void are also best friends. He wonders if the best place for the Void is with his older brother, or if it's with him. In the middle of a livestream, Torian Strauss heard something coming from inside his car. It was none other than a tiny feral kitten, hiding underneath! He admitted in a follow-up video that he had been researching cats on the internet all of last week, and that was enough for the CDS to send one right to him.

He took the scared baby to the shelter, hoping to find her a home, but the shelter refused to take her because she was too young. With no other option, Torian decided to let fate be fate and adopt her for himself. He named her 'Miss Piggy Pampers', along with a bunch of other cute nicknames, like the purrfect 'Piggy Bologna', and others. He gave her a flea bath, bought her her own pink cat castle, and was clearly falling in love. 

There's something so wholesome about someone becoming a cat purrson in real-time, and that's exactly what you can see here. Just a guy, rescuing a cat, and then realizing that she's everything he had ever wanted.

A farm cat had undeniable meowternal instincts, stealing the neighbor's chicks to raise as her own. 

They say that animals adopt the persona of whatever creature raised them in infancy. In most cases, a kitten will be raised by its cat mom, but if a kitten is instead raised by a gaggle of chickens, you may end up with a kitty that clucks instead of meowing. Like all living things, cats are molded by their environment, and because of their purrsistent resilience, clever kitty mind, and their innate survivor mentality, cats are the biggest mimics of their environment, even if it goes against a cat's predatory nature. In most cases, cats will attack a bird, but in this case, all this kitty wanted was some feathery cuddles and beak-pecked kisses. 

The farmers' chickens raised a cat in this next tale, and because of her affinity for bird-brained antics, feather beds, and a cat tower full of clucking chicks, this farm cat grew to become a cuddle thief. This chicktomaniac cat could no longer deny her desire to be a chicken mama, and hilariously saw the chicken coop next door as the purrfect target. 

When others left, Sakae Kato stayed. After the Fukushima prefecture in Japan became uninhabitable due to radiation clouds leaking from the nearby Fukushima nuclear plant, 160,000 people abandoned their homes and their pets. For more than 10 years, he rescued forgotten animals who had been left behind. At one point, Kato was caring for up to 40 cats inside his home. He said his life's mission was to take care of every last one, because if he didn't, who would?

Not all heroes wear capes, and not all angels have wings.

Sakae Kato pawsitively sacrificed everything, including his own health, after everyone else moved on. Over 160,000 people abandoned their lives in Fukushima after the surrounding area became uninhabitable due to the nuclear power plant nearby, but many were left behind. All of them had four legs, and none of them understood why they suddenly found themselves all alone. Kato couldn't handle the fact that so many beloved creatures were suddenly left alone, so he stayed behind to rescue and care for them. 

Just to make you understand the intensity of this decision, a purrfectly crucial fact is that Kato lives with no running water. He travels to a mountain spring to collect what he needs, not just for himself, but for the more than 40 cats he cares for, as well as the other animals he's collected along the way. For 10 years, he's cared for these left-behind pets, all alone. This is the true meaning of sacrifice.

This is a man who is willing to put the needs of others before himself, and not just when it's convenient for him. He changed the course of his life to protect others who can't protect themselves, and here at I Can Has Cheezburger, we will always consider him a hero.

The meowsterious lives of cats are constantly intriguing for us, mere humans. But one brave pawrent did what we all dream of doing and tracked her cat's daily activities, only to find we're fascinated by the plain existence of our feline friends - no matter what they actually do.

We're all guilty of wondering what's going on in our cats' brains during the day. What they plan and what they're up to. What thoughts they have of the things they see, and the stuff we do (and this is why we're sure they judge us, like the feline overlords that they are). But this was not made only to satiate her own thirst for knowledge. This pawrent made meowgic happen, and turned the entire cat data into a beautifully presented set of slides, for all cat people around the world to enjoy (and learn, probably). You say "one more thing," and your cat immediately steps in to shut that down.

Cats don't know it's Friday, but they do know you've been on your laptop way too long. You're sitting there like "one more thing," and that's exactly when they decide it's time. Suddenly they're on the keyboard, in your face, or just planted directly in front of the screen like they've been waiting all day for this.

They commit to it too. Not a quick interruption, this is a full sit-down. Maybe they lie across your arms so you physically can't type, maybe they just block half the screen and refuse to move. At some point it just gets ridiculous. You're barely working, they're completely comfortable, and the whole thing feels unnecessary. They're sitting there like everything is fine, like the laptop being open is actually the problem here.

Eventually you just stop. Laptop closes, work is done whether it's finished or not, and now you're just sitting there with a cat who clearly won. No argument, no discussion. They decided it's the weekend, and that's it.

Once you decide to adopt a cat, everything moves pretty fast. 

Adopting a cat always sounds simple at first. You decide you're ready, maybe scroll through a few options, tell yourself you'll think about it and not rush. Then you actually go meet one, and that's usually where it ends. One look, one interaction, and suddenly you're already attached and the decision is basically made.

Bringing them home feels like a big deal. You set everything up, make sure they've got food, water, a place to sleep. You're thinking about how they'll adjust, how long it'll take. The cat, meanwhile, is just walking around, checking things out, figuring out where they want to sit and what they like best.

The adjustment doesn't take as long as you expect. One day they're new, a little unsure, and the next they've picked their spots and started following you around. They show up in whatever room you're in, sit nearby, and just become part of your routine without making it a big thing.

Then it just becomes normal. You stop thinking about when they got there or how it happened. They're just there, part of your space, part of your day, part of everything without needing a reason for it.

This was supposed to be a normal drive to work, but the CDS had other plans. 

Sometimes the cat distribution system really doesn't care how many cats you already have. This purrson already had seven and still somehow ended up with one more after spotting what looked like a paper bag moving in the middle of the road. A closer look turned that into a tiny kitten trying to figure things out on a busy street.

They pulled over, ran back, and grabbed her before anything could happen. The kitten was too small to even get up onto the curb, just stuck in the middle of it all. So she got scooped up and taken along for the day, which is already a big upgrade from where she started.

Since then, there's been an effort to find where she came from, but it doesn't seem like anyone's missing her. No home, no one looking, just a kitten who ended up in the right place at the right time.

And somehow, even with a full house of cats, this one still feels special. The dream cat showing up out of nowhere, right when she needed help most, is exactly how these stories tend to go. You don't plan it, you don't expect it, and then suddenly there's another cat in your life who fits right in.

Getting a cat when you move houses is a gift, and this couple decided to take the present despite having a full house already. 

They moved and on the first day there was just a cat there. They love cats so they tried not to get attached, but we all know how that works out. The woman would sit outside at night so that the cat could sleep on her lap, and she'd leave blankets outside for her and do whatever she could to help. As fragile and whimsical as a warm summer breeze and as mighty and proud as a roaring lion, kittens embody spicy cat energy down to the letter. Unbridled by common sense and unburdened by age, kittens are driven mainly by mischief and an endless hankering for a bowl of milk. 

Although cats have their many purrsonalities, there are common threads of adorableness that cat lovers admire in any feline, and those traits are meownifested during kittenhood. While their origin stories are often wild, extreme, and unique, kittens ultimately undergo their biggest transformation under the watchful eyes of their adopted humans. 

We watch them go from ravenous, blind-eyed babies to rambunctious, rebellious teens, and finally start to overfeed them just in time for their metabolism to slow, resulting in the slightly portly physiques of our more mellow elder cats. A cat may scratch us when they play or accidentally bite our ankles too hard as we round the couch in the middle of the night, but those playful wounds stem from a place of love. Infinite love, really. 

Kittens bond with us early on using playful, albeit slightly maniacal, means, and it's from then on that our fates are bound together in the stars. It's so hard to find good help these days. 

Going out of town, for work or for pleasure, is always more complicated when you have pets. If you don't have family in the area, you're forced to rely on friends or a professional pet sitter. And even if you do have a friend, you can't always be sure that they're going to follow your instructions to the T. In today's story, a cat pawrent of three fluffy felines had to take a last minute work trip for a week, and was able to get a friend to watch their cats. They left them with instructions, and plenty of food to keep them well-fed. But when they got home, they found the food bag still full…. and the 30 lb. treat bag empty! The friend accidentally fed their cats treats the whole week instead of food!

Their cats are okay, just grumpy that they have to go back to eating their boring, normal dry food now that "mom" is back.

Some new homes come with a pool, a garden, or a finished basement, but this house on the market came with its very own feline resident. Residing in the HVAC system, the new homeowners were immediately aware that a feline spirit haunted the house, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

They always look like they knew the photo was coming. A little head tilt, eyes locked in, maybe a paw sneaking into the frame like it belongs there. Meanwhile, you blink once and somehow ruin your own photo while they look completely purrfect. It's completely unfair.

There's a whole range too. Some go full meowdel mode, staring straight into the camera like it's their new purrofile picture. Others catch themselves mid-yawn or mid-stretch and still manage to look better than they should. Either way, the camera seems to work for them.

Trying again doesn't help. They'll move even closer, like they're checking the shot themselves or making sure they stay in frame. Personal space doesn't exist when there's a camera involved.
