Manager schedules daily check-ins during employee's lunch break, employee insists on cooking during the meeting anyway: 'I made a full grilled cheese on my little desk griddle'
Many of us have worked in environments where the sometimes unspoken rule is the pressure to stay at one's desk and work through lunch hours. Oftentimes, new hires will take notes from their superiors. If they see that the folks on the team rarely take the lunch break that they're very much entitled to take, then the cycle will likely continue until someone challenges it.
This worker shared his story about what happened when his manager decided to reschedule their daily check-in meetings to take place right at 12:00 pm. Despite numerous attempts to subtly imply that this was not an ideal for him, as the employee was someone who valued his lunch breaks, his manager would not budge. So, the employee decided that he would comply and attend these meetings, but he wasn't exactly going to follow classic meeting decorum.
Instead, he decided to use this time to cook elaborate and sometimes very noisy lunch while remaining unmuted during these meetings. First, it was ramen. Then, it was a salad that required a ton of chopping (yes, he chose this recipe specifically because of the number of vegetables he would need to chop). Finally, he decided to cook a full-on grilled cheese with a small griddle he was gifted by his spouse. His manager wasn't very happy with this, but at the end of the day, he had no one to blame but himself.

21 Curious Cat Memes with Their Toe Beans on the Kitchen Counter
Hearing the meows from your favorite feline friend is like music to your ears and warms your heart. Unless you don't know where they are or what they are doing…. Because then it is very likely that they are up to something no good. But also likely still adorable and hilarious! There is a reason cats make the best memes.
23 Adorable Pictures of Cats Showing Off Their Selfie Skills
Cats don't accidentally end up in selfies, they fully take over like it was always their plan. The second a phone comes out, they're already too close to the camera, somehow finding the best angle without even trying. You were aiming for a normal picture, and now it's a full cat close-up with zero warning.
They always look like they knew the photo was coming. A little head tilt, eyes locked in, maybe a paw sneaking into the frame like it belongs there. Meanwhile, you blink once and somehow ruin your own photo while they look completely purrfect. It's completely unfair.
There's a whole range too. Some go full meowdel mode, staring straight into the camera like it's their new purrofile picture. Others catch themselves mid-yawn or mid-stretch and still manage to look better than they should. Either way, the camera seems to work for them.
Trying again doesn't help. They'll move even closer, like they're checking the shot themselves or making sure they stay in frame. Personal space doesn't exist when there's a camera involved.
Japanese spa offers special back massages from cats leaving feline fans with the purrfect finish
Japan has been at the top of our dream vacation list for years. We love everything matcha, sushi, and kawaii, so it's a purrfectly natural first contender. Not to mention the numerous cat cafes, cat islands (Aoshima and Tashirojima), robot restaurants, and all the ramen you could dream of. If you're also jonesing for a trip to Japan, we're sorry (not sorry) to give you one more reason to paws whatever you're doing and book those tickets immediately: back massages… by cats.
Have you ever dreamed of having a cat massage you into a zen-like state while you peacefully drift off into dreamland? Well, now, it can become a reality. At the end of the traditional massage, you can pay extra for a purrfessional feline masseuse to hop on and make sure your ending is truly happy. As they knead biscuits into your back and neck, you can feel comforted knowing that these kitties actually enjoy their work. We haven't met a cat yet that doesn't like making biscuits, and these hardworking felines aren't going to be the first.
We're generally very strict reviewers, but we're pretty sure we'd give these cats 5 stars. Even if they didn't do the purrfect job, we want them to stay employed, fed, and cared for, so we want to encourage other people to go and get a massage from them as well. Now, does anyone want to sit next to us on the 18 hours to Tokyo?

Lion finds his furrever family after getting rescued from a shady backyard zoo, coming out of his shell when he meets a female and her cuddly cubs: ‘They cured his trauma’
Lions, specifically, are known as the king of the jungle. However, a lion obviously never met the cat overlord I have in my house, demanding wet kibbles at all hours and cursing the laser pointer. Like many a mighty house cat, this lion was rescued by accident, getting discovered by his heroic rescuers by chance. Although cat lovers usually find their kitties in the alley, in a trash can, or under their car at the Walmart parking lot, this adult male lion was discovered at a shady backwoods zoo where they did lab tests on him.
This lion is a survivor, like all cats, and his story is just as emotional and remarkable. Keep scrolling for the heartwarming tale of an enormous 500lbs lion who just wanted to be cuddled and cared for by a cat family, which he found in the form of a huddle of cubs. He refused to relax at the wildlife rescue, until he learned from the lion cubs that these kind hoomans could be trusted.
Sometimes the truth lies in the mouth of babes… Baby lions, that is.
UPDATE: 37-year-old brother sends anonymous flowers to 35-year-old sister, leading sister to divorce her husband
Most people are delighted to get flowers. It's a momentary bright spot in your day that lets you know someone was thinking about you and wanted you to have a beautiful floral arrangement.
But this guy took kind of an odd approach to sending his sister some flowers, and the resulting meltdown it caused was just so bizarre.
22 Relaxing Memes of Cats Set for a Sunny Spring Break Vacation
Spring break rolls around and cats immediately clock out. No planning, no packing, just a quiet decision that they are now on vacation. The sun comes out and suddenly every warm spot in the house is fully booked.
They take their lounging seriously. One minute it's the window, the next it's a patch of sunlight on the floor, then somehow your spot becomes the best one in the house. A quick stretch, a turn, and that place is officially claimed. If it's warm, it's theirs.
There's a little light activity in between. Bird watching becomes a full event, plants get inspected a little too closely, and anything new in the room deserves at least a few seconds of attention. Nothing too demanding, just enough to break up the schedule.
Most of the day, though, is dedicated to naps. Long, uninterrupted, purrfectly timed naps. Wake up, stretch, shift slightly, and go right back to it. No rush, no pressure, just full commitment to relaxing.
Cats don't need to go anywhere for spring break. Give them sunshine, a few good spots to sit, and they're completely set. They've got the whole vacation thing figured out, and honestly, they make it look pretty good.
Job candidate leaves in the middle of group interview after company refuses to provide health insurance to new hires: ‘I don't care’
It can be tricky, finding ways to glean into a company's culture while you're in the hiring process. It's not like you can ask how they treat their employees, because obviously, they will never tell you if they treat them badly. And most companies don't really let current employees talk to potential hires.
This means that job candidates have to be smart about how they can find out if the workplace they are interviewing for is worth their time. You have to ask the right questions, know what benefits are a must, and what it means to you when a company refuses to provide something.
The job candidate below, for example, recognised a few signs in their hiring process that pointed to a company that doesn't really care about its employees. First, the hiring process itself was a red flag, since the workplace insisted on doing a group interview with other candidates, which is not a good indication of how attentive the company is to its workers.
But the real reason why this candidate decided to withdraw their application was because of something that happened during the group interview. When the hiring manager asked if anyone had any questions, this candidate decided to inquire about the health insurance for the employees, and to their surprise, they were told that the only employees who are eligible for health insurance are branch managers, meaning only four employees in the whole company.
This was an immediate sign for this job candidate that the company doesn't value its employees. If they refuse to provide something as basic as health insurance to all their workers, they obviously don't care about their health. And this candidate has no interest in working for a workplace like that.
The candidate decided they are not going to waste another minute for this company, and left the group interview the second they heard the hiring manager's response about the health insurance. Was that the right call? Keep scrolling to read all about it.
55-year-old tells 46-year-old wife to get a job after she insists that they keep working overtime
We all want to have time, money, and energy to accomplish all of our dreams, and ususally, you get to pick 1 or 2 of those things. You can work a lot and have a ton of money, but no time or energy to spend all that cash. If you do have the time to travel, you might not have enough money to go on a lavish trip.
And for this person, all they really wanted to do was ensure that their kids had a bright future ahead of them.
'Delivered a pizza and came home with the best tip ever': Pizza delivery driver rescues abandoned stray who jumped into their car and turns a routine delivery into a furever home
Sometimes a normal shift turns into something way bigger. While out delivering pizzas right before Christmas, this driver pulled up to a house and was immediately greeted by the sweetest cat, who ran right up and hopped into the car like she'd done it before. It seemed like she must belong to someone nearby, but after asking, it turned out she had been left behind when the previous neighbors moved out.
She'd been living outside ever since, with people around feeding her when they could, but no real home. Friendly, healthy, and clearly used to people, she just didn't have anyone anymore.
So instead of leaving her there, the driver took her home.
A vet visit confirmed she was doing well, just a little matted from being outside, and from there it was a full reset. No more street life, no more uncertainty, just a warm, safe place to land.
Now Ringo Starr is living exactly how she should be. Indoors, cared for, and clearly loving it. What started as a simple delivery ended up changing everything for both of them.
The heartwarming tale of the mysterious stray kitten who was gifted to delivery driver on Valentines Day and her instant acceptance and adoration of indoor life with her feline sibling, cat mom says: ‘Her and her big brother are playing constantly’
We have come across cats being placed on the street out of cars, cats waltzing uninvited into people's homes, cats climbing hoomans to claim them and even cats who save young children from terrifying events. But never before have we heard of the Cat Distribution System delivering a cat to a delivery driver while on their delivery route. Even just reading that back it sounds made up, or at very least some sort of strange glitch in the matrix that makes little to no sense.
But here we are with one of the most well adjusted and clever cattos we have heard about. Being delivered to their hooman in one of the sweetest and most surprising ways we have heard about. The only conclusion we can come to is that the CDS knew that this hooman deserved a lot of love but that they were not going to get what they so deserved for Valentine's day and so they stepped in to help.
32-year-old man mocks 23-year-old sister's babysitting gig, she starts charging him her full rate for watching his kids
Here's hoping he learned his lesson about what happens when you play games with the people you actually need by your side.
As for the young woman, let's take a moment to appreciate all that she is juggling while still being a student. First of all, it goes without saying that the vast majority of students do not have enough time on their hands to work full-time jobs while pursuing their studies.
Students who work deserve credit for taking on more responsibility than their classmates. They have to manage their class and work schedules while carving out some precious study time for themselves. Trying to squeeze in a robust social life on top of that makes it nearly impossible to balance, but so many students find a way to make it work.
The fact that this woman was babysitting her older brother's kids nearly every week for free, only to receive criticism from him for not getting a real job, only goes to show how much unnecessary pressure we put on student workers. They don't need unsolicited advice. They need support and understanding, especially from family members.
30 Unhinged Little Meowers With Midnight Zoomies
Midnight zoomies - as cat pawrents we are way too familiar with this nightly ritual we didn't consent to. They sleep all day so that they can zoom around the house when we're trying to get our beauty sleep. It's not respectful, but who said cats were respectful? They're chock full of unhinged, wild, wily, untamed behavior, but that's also why we love them. Being sleep deprived from cats feels a lot better than sleep deprived from anything else. When you're sleep deprived you're not yourself. You waver in and out of being, you wonder what's even happening around you, but you do what you need to do anyway.
Despite a cat's chaotic temperament, we love them all the same, and keep them all the same. Their midnight zoomies don't affect us too much, and we still manage our lives. The benefits of having a cat greatly outweigh the negatives, and that's saying something since we all love and need our sleep. But here's to our chaotic, unhinged kitties simply being themselves at all hours of the night. These nightly, unhinged cats having zoomies will be the best thing you see today.
24-year-old data analyst shuts down meddling aunt who keeps pushing “better” career ideas, tells her to try doing his job herself
UPDATE: Homesteader confronts 70-year-old neighbor who doesn't want chickens freeroaming in her yard: 'Y'all, I'm putting up the fence'
….They only got critiques of their homekeeping etiquette.
If you lived somewhere rural and had plenty of space, maybe you wouldn't mind your neighbor's livestock wandering around your yard, too. While many (most!) people keep their animals in some kind of cage, this person doesn't. Their freerange chickens are for real free to wander where ever they choose.
The person who used to be their neighbor didn't mind this. Maybe they were just used to it, or they liked seeing the chickens pecking around at their lawn. For whatever reason, it wasn't an issue.
But now, an older woman has moved in, and she sees things differently.
