For months, this employee gave her heart and soul to her company, without getting anything in return. Even the raises and promotions she would get were disrespectful and incredibly below the average on the market, yet they kept telling her there was nothing else they could do. When the company told her they were going to hire an assistant for her, she was pretty excited. She has been working so hard and could really use the help. Then, she saw the assistant's job posting, and discovered that the company plans to offer the assistant $5k - $30k more than she makes herself. 

That was the final straw for the employee. She now knew that no matter how hard she worked, she would never get what she truly deserved in the company. But that doesn't mean that she was going to leave without making sure the entire company knew what they were losing…

Do your cats show signs of the 'tism?

One of the best parts of being a cat owner is getting to know all of your cattos' weird quirks. They might only drink water out of leftover mugs, maybe they sleep in between the couch cushions, or purrhaps they randomly choose when to listen to you and when not to (well, that sounds about normal, to be honest). The vet examined Simba, checking for anything physically wrong with him, and came back with the most hissterical answer he could have: Simba was just deaf.

All around the world, employees struggle with this type of manager, the one obsessed with everyone looking servile and energetic, who will stop at nothing to achieve the desired look. The part that not every manager considers is that to become servile and energetic, employees need to be at least a little comfortable and, hopefully, unconcerned about knee pain.

Growing up in the 90s, we didn't have any accurate representations of queer people on TV. If there was a queer character, they were always a degrading stereotype: flamboyant for a gay man, and overly-masculine for a lesbian. This led to us feeling ostracized and extremely alone as we tried to navigate who we were as we matured through life. We struggled with feeling left out, and like there was no place for us in this world. School was awful, especially in our younger years when kids can be brutal to others for simply being different. 

Luckily, our differences weren't physical, unlike the boy that we're representing from Reddit's r/MadeMeSmile community, who was born with heterochromia and a cleft lip. Heterochromia is a condition where your eyes are different colors, and it's extremely rare. In today's world, this condition would be celebrated and even envied, but back then, any sort of difference made you an outsider and a pawssible victim for the mean kids to pick on. 

His name is Madden, and he's from Oklahoma.

Madden, like us, felt alone in his early years. His parents could see that he needed a companion, a friend who wouldn't judge him for his appearance. So, they took him to an animal shelter to adopt a family cat. Call it fate, call it destiny, call it whatever you want, but Madden found a cat with heterochromia and a cleft lip. Needless to say, Madden chose this cat without a second of hesitation.
