Midweek is like the awkward middle child of the week; not the exciting firstborn, not the fun baby of the family, just stuck in the middle trying to get noticed. It's not quite the fresh start of Monday, but it's not close enough to the weekend yet. So, at this point, we definitely deserve a pause. And is there any better way to do that than with a collection of purrfectly silly cat memes?

Ready for a midweek paw-se? Stress ends here; it's time to LOL.

Manager tries to get employee to work during PTO, giving her personal number to a contractor and listing her as on-call for tasks she was never hired to do: ‘I said “absolutely not!” I am taking a paid vacation and will not be coming in’

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 11:30
An employee on paid vacation gets a message from a stranger saying her manager put her on call for a contractor visit, then finds out the manager has already left town for Colorado, leaving her to clean up the miscommunication she createdBeing on-call is one of those workplace arrangements that sounds simple until a manager gets creative with the definition. The original agreement is clear. Someone is available for emergencies, gets compensated specifically for that availability, and everyone understands what qualifies as an emergency. Then a scheduling gap appears, the manager spots someone on the roster who lives nearby and is technically reachable, and suddenly, on-call becomes a very flexible concept.

24 Adorable Pictures of Splooting Cats Sprawled Out in Style

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 11:15
The sploot happens with zero warning.

Cats sploot like they just gave up mid-movement. One second they're walking around, next second they're flat on the floor with their back legs kicked straight out. No lead-up, no hesitation, just straight into it. They hit a limit and decided that was enough for now.

They always manage to do it right where you need to be. Middle of the room, doorway, anywhere that makes it slightly inconvenient. Fully stretched across your path with zero awareness. You're the one stepping around them while they stay exactly where they are.

The legs are what make it. Straight out behind them like they forgot they're attached. The front half looks completely normal, the back half looks like it stopped working. It doesn't really make sense, but it works for them. It also makes them look smaller and a little softer without doing anything else.

After a while, it just becomes part of the day. You walk in and there's a cat fully splooted, right where you need to be, like it was always meant to happen there. No effort to move, no sign they're going anywhere. You adjust, step around, and keep going. They stay exactly as they are. It stops feeling weird and just starts to feel normal.

Aunt greedily demands money for late father's property, didn't know it was sold to her older brother over 10 years prior, leaves with her tail tucked: 'She didn't do her homework properly.'

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 10:45
It's all love and peace until greed gets involved… When it came to this family, it was their late father's land. All the siblings were living on it, grew up on it, built their own homes on it, and are raising their own kids on it. It was a good amount of land! However, after the father passed, the eldest daughter decided it was her land, and everyone owed her rent. Unfortunately for her, the father had sold the land to her oldest brother over a decade prior.

So she not only left with no extra cash, but also shunned by her family. That's where greed will get you! Luckily, this family has a generous brother who is making sure their father's land stays free of greed and for the family.

Old lady sneakily gives away her neighbor's ‘retired barn cat’ and gets away with it, so family gets back at her by helping her husband in divorce court: ‘So he can be compensated…'

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 10:00
A beloved family's barn cat moved with them to a more suburban neighborhood. Here, there was no longer a barn for this, now-retired barn cat, to roam in. Instead, the neighbors welcomed the 14-year-old feline into their community and welcomed him wandering around their homes. Well, except for one very cranky and entitled neighbor…

Then, the cat went missing. The family tried to find their beloved pet, putting up posters and asking around. One day, the cranky neighbor's daughter (who is no-contact with her) told her that she saw that her mother had put the cat up for adoption on Facebook Marketplace and gave him away. There was no solid proof other than that text, so the family couldn't do anything about it. After several more grievances, the family had had enough, especially the mother and her "feral" children. "I've been too passive now, and I'm not sure how much is too much or how little is too little," the mom writes.

21 Cute Cat Memes fur Curled Up Hoomans Hiding from Responsibilities

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 09:45
The adult world can be quite the handful, and when you are burnt out from the mounting responsibilities on your back the only thing you want to do is curl up and hide from them. So we figured we would join you in your metaphorical pillow fort of procrastination with a collection of cute cat memes.

It is a terrible symptom of the hooman condition, responsibility. No matter where you go, no matter how hard you run it will always be there ready and waiting to catch up to you and remind you of all that you have left to do. Thankfully, though, you do not always have to face up to it. In fact if you are smart about it you can keep it at bay for quite a while and one of the best ways to do that is to clear your mind off it with a collection of cute cat memes such as the one we have put together for you today.

Now, we must caveat this statement with the fact this only applies to hooman responsibilities. Any and all responsibilities you owe your cat child must be carried out post haste unless you wish to feel the power of their wrath. Something which we strongly advise against.

Stray cat abandoned in botanical gardens found by cat lover who built her a house for winter until his home would be ready to be her furever home, cat dad says: ‘I really hope she doesn't mind me catnapping her!’

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 08:00
It is not often that a rescue pawrent plans for their incoming cat with such dedication and forethought that it makes us wish we were the cat and consider swapping places with said cat. But in this case, we would have paid good money to a witch doctor to turn us into a cat.

In most rescue stories, the rescue itself is the thing that is worth more than anything else. Sure, it is nice to have nice things, but when you are a cat coming from a life lived on the streets and possibly worse. Just having a roof over your head and food in your bowl is more than enough to keep you satisfied with your choice to be rescued by a hooman.

But in this story, the hooman hero who rescues the cat is so darn considerate and cat loving that his approach to readying his home for her arrival was so full of thought and care that we would not have minded taking the cat's place at all. We cannot remember the last time that someone laid out our bedding for us, cleaned the toilet and cooked up some delicious food for us. So the only questions we are left with are how can we turn into cats? And how are we going to find a hooman like this one?

19-year-old gifts friend $300 birthday presents, receives nothing for her own birthday: 'She told me... she was "going all out" for my birthday'

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 08:00
These 2 teens have birthdays that are just a month apart, but their celebrations were nowhere near equal

People celebrate their birthdays in all kinds of ways.

Some people barely do anything except answering "Happy Birthday" texts from their friends and family all day.

Other people go big with it, deeming the entire month to be their birthday month. And most of us are somewhere in between, maybe having a modest party or treating ourselves to a nice trip.

These 19-year-old friends have birthdays in January and February respectively, which can make for a fun period of celebration. But that's not exactly how things went down, as one of the 19-year-olds explained.

Employee demands more benefits after their promised pay increase in new contract turns into major pay cut: ‘I will move on if my demands aren't met’

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 07:30
How many times are we promised something at work only to never see it come to life?

Our workplaces love to promise us raises, promotions, benefits, and company trips, but to have them actually keep their word is a whole different challenge that many employees give up on at some point. There is only so much "maybe next quarter" one can accept before realizing it is simply never going to happen.

It is one thing not to get what you were promised, and a whole other thing to get the exact opposite. An employee can deal with the disappointment of not getting the raise they were asking for, but how are they expected to react when their promised pay raise turns into a pay cut? What are they supposed to do then?

That is the question the veterinarian in the story below is asking themselves at this moment. They have been working at this clinic for almost a decade, even though they work extra hard due to constant understaffing. Their benefits are not up to industry standards, they work weekends and barely get any vacation days during the year, but they like the job and the people, so the only thing that they ask for is a pay raise.

A few months ago, this vet's boss told them that they had made some changes to their contract, and promised those changes would lead to an actual pay raise. However, since then, the vet noticed that not only did their pay not increase, but it actually lowered by almost $500 each month. Betrayed, the vet confronted the boss and started demanding what they are long overdue for: more benefits, another week of vacation, and no more working on Saturdays.

Was that the right call for this employee, or should they give up and look for a different job where they would be much more appreciated and compensated? Scroll down to read the rest of the story.

Family takes a “Not My Cat” to the vet only to realize the independent stray has officially promoted them to permanent staff: ‘This is 100% your cat. Congrats!’

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 07:15
When a cat chooses us, it's always a blessing. It's already hard to win the trust of a cat, so if and when you do - it's an easy choice to embrace it with both hands. But we know cats are very opinionated, and this one here? She adopted her humans, for sure, but very much in her own terms.

It's not every Tuesday and Wednesday that a cat comes your way, feels comfortable in your home, and adopts themselves as an integral part of your family. But when it happens, almost like the cat is sent by the Cat Distribution System right to your door, it's a magical situation. Even if the cat has their own opinions on how and when they should be adopted, and with what particular cat-set rules they set - it's always a happy occasion that a cat finds their way into a family. Even if it already has two other cats and four dogs - like this family who shared their experience below.

All of that is especially true if the cat decides to divide their time between families. Some cats are poly… and there's nothing we can do to change them. We all know that cats, as cute as they are, can be one of the most stubborn animals. Their strong will is sometimes heavier than a hippopotamus refusing to go out of the lake - and let's see anyone try to defy them. And this one cat here below? Well, that's just who she is - and her family loves her for exactly who she is. And their neighbor also, probably.

HR requires a 500-word "reason" alongside each PTO request, so a witty employee writes an entire essay to go to their cousin's wedding: 'I began [by] explaining the historical significance of marriage'

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 07:00
HR doesn't need to know why employees take PTO; it's theirs, and they can use it for whatever they want.

An employee writes a 500-word essay so that HR will approve his PTO request, not just because he wanted to waste their time, but because they demanded to waste his. After making each PTO request impossible to submit without a 500-word answer in the section labeled "Reason for Request," this employee saw an opportunity for time-wasting malicious compliance that couldn't be passed up.

27-year-old man chooses his own peace after feeling emotionally overwhelmed in relationship with girlfriend he still loves: ‘I couldn’t sustain it’

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 06:45
Ending a relationship is never easy, especially when love is still there. For one man, choosing his own peace meant facing a decision that didn't come lightly.

At first glance, everything seemed to be built on genuine care, affection, and meaningful connection. There were good moments, the kind that make you believe you are exactly where you are meant to be. But as time went on, subtle tensions began to surface, creating a shift that was hard to fully explain but impossible to ignore.

What made things more complicated was not a lack of effort, but the emotional weight that slowly crept into everyday interactions. It was not always obvious or dramatic, but it was there, shaping conversations and reactions in ways that made the relationship feel increasingly difficult to navigate.

Sometimes, the hardest part is not recognizing that something is wrong, but deciding what to do about it. When emotions, expectations, and personal limits start to collide, even strong feelings can be tested. That is where this story begins, in the space between love and the need for something more sustainable.

Cat dad discovers his sweet orange feline is the leader of a secret criminal crew that meets daily in his attic: 'She belonged there'

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 06:30
This is just a typical Wednesday for your average orange cat who hungers for mischief and thirsts for chaos.

If you want something outrageously cute, but hissterically unpredictable in your life, get an orange cat. They will never fail you in these regards.

There's a running joke about orange cats that they all share one collective brain cell, and each orange cat who doesn't have the brain cell is just running on instincts and a purrre drive for shenanigans. That being said, they're also some of the most loving cats we've ever met. All you need to take care of an orange cat is some food, a big heart, and a lot of patience.

The food part is crucial, because many of them are food motivated, which is what makes the start of our story below so intriguing. A cat dad started to get worried when his clementine-colored kitty didn't show up for breakfast one meowrning, so he started looking for her. He heard some noises coming from above him, and realized that the shuffling and scratching noises were coming from the attic. He climbed the stairs, poked his head through, and found not only his fluffy feline, but a 5-creature crew of tiny criminals that had taken up residence in his attic. More than that, the fuzzy felons seemed to be treating his cat like their leader.

What did we tell you? Orange cats have a way of making the impawssible possible, and to always expect the unexpected.

Yes, your cat can tell you're pregnant and here's how they understand

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 05:45
It might not be just a coincidence that your cat got clingier recently, they could be telling you something you don't even know yet.

Cats are much more purrceptive than we give them credit for. Dogs usually get all the fame and spotlight when it comes to understanding things about us hoomans, but cats just communicate it in a different way. One of the biggest ways cats communicate with us is through physical actions, and if your cat all of a sudden becomes awwdorably clingy, they might smell some hormonal changes you're not even aware of yet.

They don't understand pregnancy the way we do - if they saw you with a giant, round belly, they would probably just think you're a giant, chonky cat, not a pregnant one. But, cats can smell when your body starts pumping out a whole lot of estrogen in order to move the pregnancy along, meaning that they can actually smell your pregnancy without ever seeing it. You also produce more body heat, and we all know how much cats love warm things. It's not uncommon for cats to start sleeping on your pregnant belly for warmth and comfort.

Don't take every time your cat starts cuddling with you as a sign you might be pregnant, but sometimes, it might not hurt to check. Although it wouldn't be the first time that we found out by surprise! Check out these wholesome stories below of women who went through pregnancies with their cats, and how they adorably responded to the idea of a new hooman sibling.

Employee CC's entire 40-person team on every email per his manager's request, clogging everyone's inbox: 'I was just following the policy he set'

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 05:00
This employee may have known exactly what he was doing, but that's the only way he was going to prove his point to his hot-headed manager.

Sometimes, your manager is not going to believe you when you tell them that their directive has not been fully considered. If you have a decent boss, they will hear your concern and go back to the drawing board to find a better solution. However, if your manager is like the one this author had the unfortunate experience of working for, then you might have a problem confronting them.

In that case, the only way to truly get through to them that their idea was, well, a bad one is to show, not tell. If they have no desire to listen to your protestations beforehand, then they don't deserve the luxury of an advanced warning. This author chose to comply with his manager's demands by copying their entire 40-person team on every single email. Let's just say that the vast majority of these emails did not need to be publicized to everyone.

Son suspects foul play when his parents “adopt” a 20-year-old woman, calling them out when they start prioritizing her over family: ‘She’s trying to take out life insurance policies on them or something’

Fail Blog - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 04:15
Sometimes caring about your parents means asking uncomfortable questions.

When his parents quickly grow close to a 20-year-old and start centering their lives around her, one son speaks up, not to criticize, but to make sure they're not giving too much of themselves away.

'My cat hates only 1 person': Sweet cat who loves everyone relentlessly hates a single man who has done nothing wrong to her, leading him to do everything he can to win her over

LOL Cats - Wed, 04/08/2026 - 04:00
If a cat is generally friendly, but there is only one person that she hates, then there has to be something very special about that person.

At least, that is what we instinctively think. We always tell people to trust their cats. Believe the signs that your cats give you. If your cat hates your boyfriend, then there is generally a reason for it. A bad vibe. An incorrect kind of feeling. And if your cat is reacting like this, then you should keep one eye open. If your cat keeps running away from your roommate, listen to it, take notice.

Of course, just like people, sometimes… cats just don't bond with some of us. Cats can love some people while simply tolerating others. And that should be okay too. After noticing the signs, listening to your cat, and then doing your own investigation of the person, if you find out that the person is actually cool with cats, then maybe your cat just- doesn't like them. And that's cool too.

Overworked wife reconsiders family vacation after husband invites in-laws without asking, hopes to preserve the fun and freedom of the original trip: 'I just want to have fun my own way'

Fail Blog - Tue, 04/07/2026 - 16:15
What was supposed to be a long-awaited dream vacation suddenly takes a very different turn. When plans shift without warning, excitement quickly turns into frustration, especially when the trip no longer feels like your own.

This wife had been looking forward to finally taking a proper vacation after years of putting work, parenting, and family responsibilities first. The plan was simple: save up time and energy for a meaningful trip with her husband and kids, something active, relaxing, and entirely theirs.

That vision changed the moment her husband casually revealed he had already invited his parents along. Not only had he decided without discussing it, but they had also agreed, reframing the trip into something far more complicated and far less appealing.

Now, instead of a carefree getaway, the vacation feels like it would revolve around accommodating others with very different needs and expectations. Faced with the idea of sacrificing her long-awaited break, she is seriously considering stepping away from the trip altogether.
