When that rate was dismissed without so much as a decent explanation, the employee promptly submitted his resignation letter.

Somehow, leadership was taken aback by this move, as if they genuinely thought they could keep manipulating this employee year after year. It turns out that they vastly underestimated him. In fact, they also underestimated the trick this now former employee had up his sleeve when he learned that the new person they hired to replace him was making the salary he had been requesting for years.

Almost as if the more adult we get, the less cat we become.

But as the famous song says, "Everybody wants to be a cat", but unfortunately, not everybody can. But we have something, a little gem, that even cats don't have… cat memes. Once we remember that, it all feels good again. We have cats whenever we want! Wanting to find a lost pet can make anyone act urgently, but urgency does not erase basic respect. After offering kindness and access where he could, one homeowner reached a limit when neighbors kept entering his property without permission. It's a reminder that compassion and boundaries can exist at the same time.

If you spend 3 years "quiet quitting" your job without actually getting fired, are you really quiet quitting?

Instead of actually handing in a resignation letter, many employees take a different route, which might prove to be a lot more beneficial.

When one decides to quit their job, as soon as they hand in that letter, they are on their own. If they don't have another job lined up, they may very well be looking at months without a solid income, which is never easy. But if one plays their cards right, they can convince their employer to fire them, and potentially get the exact same result they wanted, but with a severance package and unemployment money as well.

We call that "quiet quitting". You become such an incompetent employee that your boss has to fire you, and you get to go home and find a job you would actually want to put effort into.

However, you must understand that this method doesn't always work, which is why the employee in the story below has spent the last three years quietly quitting without getting the end result. Since they weren't happy about this job from the moment they got it, they decided to start "quiet quitting" from day one. But the problem with that is that the employer never noticed a change. 

Management never knew this employee had more to give, because they provided the absolute bare minimum from their first day at the office. Which is why it took them over three years to start demanding more of the employee, who by that point was just waiting for the day they would finally fire them.

The way this employee is decorating their cubicle is really raising eyebrows! 

Cats don't play Uno for fun, they play to win.

Cats playing Uno don't believe in mercy. It starts off calm, like maybe this will be a normal game. Everyone's sitting there, paws on the table, acting like they get it. One cat taps a card down like it's being respectful. Another one's already trying to chew the corner. You think it's under control. It's not.

The second someone drops a +2, it's over. Now it's personal. Cats aren't just playing, they're targeting. One hits you with a +4 like they've been waiting all day. Another stacks on top with zero hesitation. No guilt, no hesitation, just pure chaos. You finally get a good hand and then a paw comes out of nowhere and wipes your entire deck off the table. Gone. Just like that.

And they don't even pretend to follow rules. One cat sits on the discard pile like that's a valid move. Another guards the deck like it's treasure. You try to grab a card and suddenly you're getting side-eye like you're cheating. Meanwhile, someone's hiding cards under their paw like a little cheater.

By the end, no one knows what's going on. The cards are everywhere, half are missing, and one cat is asleep on top of the pile like it won. No mercy, no rules, just full chaos from start to finish.

Companies love to come up with new employee "benefits" that only prove to be complete and utter lies.

Imagine this: You get called into your boss's office, who has a smile on their face while they invite you to sit down. Then, your boss starts to go on and on about how much they appreciate you as an employee, and how happy they are with the work you've been doing all these years you have been working for the company. Then, the boss tells you that as a token of their appreciation, the company decided to grant you a pay raise of… a whopping $1040 a year! 

Cue confused shock.

Anyone with a phone and a calculator can do the quick math and discover that $1040 a year amounts to 50 cents an hour, which anyone you ask would tell you is simply insulting to any hardworking employee. It's not even enough to fight the rise in living costs.

That was not the only insult the company in the story below was responsible for. They also decided to announce a new "parking benefit" that states that free parking would be granted to employees… but only for those who have been working for the company for at least 40 years. What a joke.

A random cat made herself at home and had a kitten within minutes.

This person were just at a friend's house getting their car tuned when a tuxedo cat ran inside like she already lived there. At first it seemed like she belonged to the house, until she jumped on the couch, started meowing, and gave birth right there. When this person told his friend, his reaction said it all. He didn't have a cat, at least not until that exact moment.

Out of nowhere, this completely random cat just became theirs. No planning, no buildup, just a cat walking in and deciding this was the place. Instead of panicking, they just went with it and figured out how to help her through it.

When the daughters got home, they immediately stepped in and made a box for her in their room so she could be more comfortable. They gave her a space and stayed with her, making sure she was okay. It went from a surprise to something they were fully involved in.

She had only delivered one kitten by the time they left, but it was clear more were coming. She found her way inside at the right time, and now she has people around her who stepped up without hesitation.

Never forget that flight attendants have the ability to make a passenger's experience a living nightmare.

This off-duty flight attendant was headed back home on a 5-hour flight as a regular passenger when a group of entitled influencers unfortunately surrounded her on all sides. With all due respect to the social media-obsessed kids out there, these were not decent people. They were loud, relentless, and performative. They refused to use their "indoor voices" or to respect other passengers, who were trying to rest and enjoy some peace. 

Thankfully, the flight attendant pulled someone on duty aside and figured out the perfect way to make their "girls trip" a little less fun.

Look, we're not here to endorse cat obesity. It's a hard situation to deal with, both for the cat and for their human pawrents. She thought she was doing a kind thing by trusting a friend who promised to cover her birthday trip costs, but things quickly turned sour. After being excluded from the celebration and never being repaid, she's now being asked for an apology years later.

You can't avoid disaster, even accidental ones, like that happened to our animal shelter employee below. They accidentally hit a stray momma cat while driving past a house one day. It consumed them, until they realized that they could transform that grief into help. The next day, they drove past the same spot, and found a litter of kittens. They took them in, got them fixed up, and adopted. 

Every year, driving past that house, they found more kittens and continued to help them. At the very least, they could help the cats that crossed their path, when they couldn't help the momma years before.

But after years of helping get kittens adopted, they noticed some similar features in each purrfect litter… too many similarities to ignore. They were all connected, back to that same incident two years ago. They were all from the same family.

Fate has a funny way of weaving itself into our lives, especially around felines. Without that initial accident, generations of kittens to come might have suffered a similar tragedy. It's beautiful. Transformative, even. They documented all the litters over the years, and thanks to them, they're all with loving families, with those iconic glowing blue eyes. Now this is an inspiring story!

What happens when a landlord doesn't actually want anyone to live there? When does the idea of a tenant using the living space they are paying for become a problem?

A prospective tenant discovered that a promising apartment with fair rent and a good location came with some surprising strings attached, including limits on what they were able to cook and what guests they were able to have over.

Would you enjoy eating restaurant food for dinner every single night? 

It's a tough question! 

On first glance, you'd probably be like, "Well duh, of course I would! Who wouldn't want freshly prepared, restaurant-quality meals prepped by an actual chef? Don't we all want dinners that are high-quality and incredibly delicious?"

But then, when you think about it more, you might start to doubt that choice. Because as delicious as meals at restaurants are, they're not especially healthy. The reason they taste so good is because chefs use lot of oil and butter and salt in their dishes. Plus, these meals can be heavy. Sometimes you just want something light and simple, like some chicken, rice, and an applesauce cup, or a salad with a salmon filet. 

This person is a chef who cooks dinner for his wife and his 2 little kids each day. However, he cooks it at work —  he works at his father's restaurant, which he plans to run one day, so it just makes sense that he'd whip something up while still on the clock during a 12-hour day. 

His wife, though, seems extremely frustrated by this, and she has not held back while scolding him about it!
