21 Chaotic Memes of Cats Committing Catastrophic Tax Fraud
Tax season hits and suddenly these cats are acting like they've got everything under control. Papers spread out, serious face on, sitting right in the middle of it all like they're about to get things done. It looks convincing for about ten seconds.
They start off trying. One paw on a paper, a focused look, like they're about to figure something out. Then the confusion sets in. The same paper gets looked at again, like maybe it'll make more sense the second time. It doesn't. Now they're just sitting on it like that's helpful.
Nothing is where it should be. Important papers are mixed with nothing papers, and somehow everything ends up under the cat. The calculator disappears, pens go missing, and the whole setup slowly turns into a mess without anything actually getting done.
They still keep the same energy though. Walking across the keyboard like that's progress, hitting random keys, fully committed to whatever they think is happening. Very confident, no idea what they're doing.
In the end, nothing is finished, everything is more confusing than before, and the cat looks completely drained from the effort. Nothing may have gotten done, but they still expect a refund.
Top-performing star technician quiet quits and begins "working to rule," weaponizing company policy after being repeatedly passed up for promotion: 'Update: After 6 months, they've finally noticed that the quality of my work has dropped
You might think that being good at your job, especially being the best at your job in your organization, would put you in a prime position for promotions as they become available in the organization. And, it often does, competency at a given level is often a good reason for moving up to the next one, with driven, motivated, and successful employees often, but not always, making great leaders.
While motivated and driven workers often go on to be very successful at their new role, the inverse of this is a well-known concept called the Peter Principle. This is where workers who are promoted for their success and aptitude for their current role fail at the next level of management after being promoted and remain stuck here at this level, sometimes for the rest of their careers.
But there's another, third option still, When you're good at your job, and too good at your job, standing head and shoulders above your peers in terms of your production, you can oftentimes end up in a situation where your superiors simply will not promote you, as they know that they would never be able to replace you efficiently and cost effectively, and even if they hired two or three people to do your job they know that production and the quality of that production would still suffer.
So instead of being rewarded, these high performers are quietly held in place. Not necessarily because of any malicious intent, but over a lack of courage and fear that KPIs might slip backward, and they'd have to explain to their superiors why their team is suddenly failing. Of course, the high performer will never be acknowledged for their success and may even be told to "mind their place," even though they should be much higher in the company's ranks.
Of course, eventually this will lead to a demotivated worker who will disengage from the work and probably end up leaving, then they'll have to deal with replacing them anyway, but with the added burden of having no star employee to train them.
That's exactly what happened with this technician, who, despite carrying the company on their back for the 5 years they worked there, was repeatedly passed up for promotions. This led to them deciding to "quiet quit" and to work and think at the level they were being paid to.
Cat owner refuses to bring her indoor cat outside after neighbor's 4-year-old kid sees the cat through the window and demands to meet her: ‘Lily doesn't like strangers’
Every cat owner knows that time of day when their fluffy felines make their way to the windowsill, get comfortable in front of the glass, and sit there for hours on end. They start the activity by inspecting who comes and goes, listening to the birds, and watching for anyone who may pass the house. Then, they nap under the warm sunlight, and when they wake, they go right back to their close inspection of everything that happens on the other side of the window.
They don't wave, they don't try to catch any attention, they simply sit there in peace and watch the world go by.
We're sure that if you were to ask your cats if they would do anything different about this activity, they wouldn't want to change a thing. That is why we are also sure that if you were to suggest to your cat to embark on this activity by actually going outside and viewing the world without the window in between, their answer would be a firm no.
Some cats enjoy the great outdoors, others hate it with their entire hearts. It is up to their pawrents to know their preferences and to act accordingly. The 22-year-old cat owner in the story below, for example, knows for a fact that her cat, Lily, is an indoor cat with no intention of being outdoors. According to her pawrent, Lily likes to watch people from the window, but she doesn't want any interaction with them, and Lily's mom has no problem with that.
The 22-year-old's neighbors, however, seem to want that to change. As soon as their 4-year-old son saw Lily sitting at her usual spot by the window, he insisted that he wanted to meet her. But when the neighbor asked the young cat owner if they could bring Lily outside to meet their son, the owner refused, explaining that it wouldn't be a fun experience for her beloved pet. Yet the neighbors refused to back down, and kept demanding to arrange a meeting, until they completely went out of line…
Roommate’s girlfriend moves in without paying rent, sparkling debate about bills and household boundaries: 'I never agreed to a third roommate'
This tenant didn't mind his roommate's girlfriend staying over at first. The issue only started when occasional visits became constant presence, using utilities, taking up space, and effectively becoming a third person in a two-person lease. At that point, it may be less about drama and more about fairness.
23 Ginger Cat Overflowing With Silly Antics and Big Purrsonality
Ginger cats have built a reputation for being equal parts adorable and completely unhinged, and honestly, they live up to it every time. One second they are staring into space like they just unlocked a secret of the universe, and the next, they are sprinting across the room for absolutely no reason, fully committed to the bit.
Part of their appeal is how expressive they are, every reaction turned up to maximum intensity. Whether they are dramatically flopping onto the floor, making the weirdest faces imaginable, or getting startled by nothing at all, ginger cats have a way of turning the smallest moment into something that feels unexpectedly hilarious and impossible to ignore.
And then there is the personality, big, bold, and completely unapologetic. Ginger cats move through life like they own the place, even when they clearly do not, bringing a mix of confidence and chaos that is hard not to love. These memes celebrate that energy, capturing the kind of silly antics that make them unforgettable.
28 Pawsitive Cat Memes to Meowplify a Cat Lover's Happiness
If only humans were so simple!
Humanity has complicated the act of "being happy" in modern times. Humans are incredibly tricky; people "need" lucrative careers, houses, cars, money, hobbies, free time, and vacations to be happy. But cats? Cats just need some noggin nuzzles, gravy on their kibbles, a dribbling water bowl, and a cuddly human by their side. Affection, love, playtime, and meals are all a cat needs to be truly, genuinely happy.
Lucky for cat lovers, cats are a component in their lives that offers an infinite supply of happiness. Smooshing your cat on the forehead and petting them until they purr in your lap brings about the kind of pure, unfiltered happiness that humanity craves. No career or white-picket-fenced house will bring about this kind of softness in your soul. Cats, however, with all of their cuteness, floof, and whiskers, will always make humans feel more positive, more balanced, and genuinely uplifted.
Even the scraggly strays on the street have a way of melting our hearts. With full-bodied meows and feisty personalities, stray cats are sometimes more charming than the felines we have at home (don't tell my cat I said that). Attempting to sway feeble cat lovers into scooping them up and giving them a furrever home inside, stray cats work their magic on every passerby in the hopes of winning the kitty lottery and becoming a beloved house pet.
Alas, it's the indoor kitties who really have it all.
Basking in the love and affection of the entire family, cats relax in absolute certainty, knowing that they are safe and will be cozy and cuddled for the rest of their nine lives. Have you ever had that kind of 100% certainty?
Cats trust that their humans will come through and protect them, so maybe we humans need to take a page out of the kitty happiness handbooks and simplify our lives, looking around at our favors and positive meowments of the day to bask in them. It's this mindful wholesomeness that really makes people happy; that and the reciprocated companionship of a fluffy feline who loves to snuggle and sleep in on the weekend just like we do.
Man goes on a walk with his 2 Golden Retrievers when, out of nowhere, a bold lost kitten comes running at them at full speed and instantly gets adopted by the doggos and their owner
We think that at this point, everyone can agree that cats adopt their humans rather than the other way around, right? We have seen too many examples. It is rare at this point, for us to hear a story about someone actually walking into a shelter to get a cat. It's always the cat finding them in some strange place instead.
And cats really do spawn in some silly places. We have seen everything from stories about cats just walking into people's houses one day and… staying, without warning, questions or asking for permission. We have seen cats jump into people's cars as people are just going on about their days. We have even written about a kitten flying through someone's window and into their lap. Don't know how it happened exactly. We just know that it did, and when it did, the person's first thought was that they had a cat now and had to go shopping for supplies.
Of course, when our cats adopt us, they don't just adopt us. Oftentimes, we are a package deal. Sometimes, they adopt our partners by proxy. They don't have to bond with them as much as they bond with us, but they have to be okay with them living in the house too. That's the deal. And sometimes, they adopt our pets as well.
Usually, it is a process. The cat adopts the human, the human takes them home, and there, the cat is surprised to find another furry creature that they have to share the love with. Maybe they become friends right away, maybe it takes them a while to warm up to one another. Eventually, it happens, but it doesn't often start that way.
In today's videos though, the kitten knew exactly what she was getting into from the get-go. She sensed her future human, ran out to find him, and ran straight into his two golden retrievers as well. And she still chose to follow them home and become a part of their family. Because it was meant to be.
'7 years of loyalty gone': Couple vows never to fly with airline again after getting separated and placed in middle seats
People are super picky about their seats on flights, and it's no surprise why that would be. If it's a 2 hour flight, who really cares where you sit, right?
But for a long haul flight, many people are happy to pay for the finer comforts in life. They love to relax next to their travel companions, so that they can talk, share snacks, and maybe even watch a movie together. Plus, if you can share the row with your partner, you can nap with your head on their shoulder, instead of trying to sleep without snoozing on the shoulder of some random stranger next to you.
However, as this person learned, even if you pay for upgrades, if you pick the cheapest airline available, you still may wind up unhappy with your travel arrangements…
'A paw bops you gently but insistently on your forehead': Person accidentally teaches their cat to demand cuddles in the middle of the night, now gets awakened constantly for mandatory midnight petting sessions
Everyone who adopts a cat has one thought in their mind louder than any other, and that is that they wish, with all of their heart, for their cat to be a velcro cat. We know, of course, that it's relatively rare for a cat to be like that. Cats like their space. They like their privacy. They like choosing when and where to cuddle, and more often than not, they choose it rarely. It is an honor for a cat to cuddle their human.
Velcro cats are different. They are the kind of cats who want to cuddle all the time. They will approach you on the couch, in bed, when you're on your computer or in the bathroom. Anytime, anywhere, they would enjoy your love. It's like winning the cat lottery. Everyone wants it. Or so we thought. We have never thought that there could be such a thing as a cat who wants to cuddle too much? Were we wrong?
30-year-old homeowner uses his F-250 to set boundaries on his property line after the neighbor parks 7 cars in front of his house: 'Now they show a little more respect'
Sometimes, there's no need for confrontation. Some people say actions speak louder than words, and in some cases, that approach actually works. Confronting people can make things worse. You never know how personally they might take a fair request. No matter how reasonable your request is and how politely you approach the conversation, it doesn't always guarantee a positive outcome. It can even escalate the problem. Also, not everyone understands the difference between what's legal and what's respectful, and dealing with inconsiderate neighbors isn't always easy. Do we really need to have a conversation about basic decency? In situations like these, taking action feels like the smarter move.
Every neighborhood has its own parking drama. People tend to operate within the boundaries of what's legal and what they believe they can get away with socially in a community. So, in that sense, respect often follows the boundaries we're willing to set. Think of the old saying, 'good fences make good neighbors', but applied to parking spaces. If you don't want to be walked over, you have to speak up for yourself, especially if it starts affecting your peace at home and your family's routine.
In today's story, one homeowner looked for a strategic solution. The front of his house was constantly taken over by his neighbors' vehicles, and their constant movement kept waking his kids up. But instead of arguing or losing his temper, he simply set a boundary in the cleverest way possible. He put his neighbors in their place by parking his giant truck and blocking the space. Now that's one way to earn some respect. With a simple move, he ended up teaching them a lesson in consideration.
Customer tries to report cashier because they didn't make conversation while 20 customers were in line
While many people go out shopping for some specific item, and others go just to window shop, some folks shop like it's their first day on Earth. It's as if they wake up in the morning and decide to make their existence everyone else's problem.
Some customers can't be helped. For example, they'll show up to a clothing store and ask where they can find shoes. Then, when the employee explains that they don't sell shoes, the customer is aghast. They'll insist that they saw an ad for 50% off shoes! They'll insist, and double down, on the fact that they need shoes from this store.
25 Fresh Feline Funnies Packed With the Funniest Meowgnificent Memes
When we, as cat people, face the beginning of another workday, something in us wakes up. Something extra cat-like. The need to nap is overpowering. We feel as if we, just like cats, could fall asleep right on top of our cereal bowl. We want to stay in bed, wrap up tight in our blankets, and literally never leave unless someone offers us food. Because life can be a little hard to deal with sometimes. But that is what cat memes are for.
The solution for the workday blues really is as simple as giggling at a bunch of funny cat memes first thing in the morning. They might not repel your desire to nap, but they will make getting out of bed just a little bit easier. Hey, a smile is all that it takes sometimes. And if the memes here are not enough, then you know that one click on the ICHC home page, and you will find a whole lot more of them.
32-year-old confront 30-year-old girlfriend after losing access to their shared bank account: 'Removing my access without even telling me wasn’t just a small change, it completely shifted control'
For many couples, opening a joint account is one of the greatest signs of commitment you can demonstrate to one another. After all, it takes trust and vulnerability to feel comfortable sharing and managing one another's money. However, sometimes what might seem like a step forward in a couple's development could end up being a serious step back if one person exploits their newfound access to the other's resources.
This 32-year-old man thought that he and his 30-year-old girlfriend had reached this important stage in their relationship. Not only did they open a shared bank account together, but they also promised to contribute a set amount of their income to that account each month. It was quite literally an investment in their future as a couple… until one day, the boyfriend tried to log into the account and began suspecting that his girlfriend was plotting something nefarious.
'Sorry, this is how we're doing things': Cat pawrent alerts PetCo staff after witnessing a flustered man dumping his kitten in the middle of the aisle and running away
We like to think that humanity as a whole is good, but all of these cat abandonment stories are pushing that theory to the limit. While a lack of education about the responsibilities of owning a pet might have been something relevant in the past, we're past the point of giving people that excuse in 2026. Humanity has never been more informed about every topic on Earth than right now, especially with most people having access to AI on their smartphones. So if it's not a lack of knowledge, what is it?
Purrsonally, we think it's a lack of empathy. By convincing ourselves that it's going to work out and then focusing on our other problems, we release ourselves from the responsibility for our actions by keeping them out of sight and out of mind. This is the opposite of what Gandhi meant by being "humane" - extending kindness to others and showing compassion to others, even animals. Making mistakes is part of being human, but abandoning a cat is no mistake. Just like the tiny black kitten that got abandoned in PetCo yesterday.
While shopping for something for her cat's birthday (adorable) at PetCo, a cat pawrent witnessed a man opening up a cat carrier and literally dumping his black kitten in the middle of the aisle. She alterted the staff, who, fortunately, were able to get the poor kitty to safety and set up for adoption. We hope she finds a home with someone who actually appreciates her.
To all of you out there who are thinking about adopting a cat for yourselves or because your kids won't stop asking you for one, please remember that these cats and kittens are living creatures with feelings. They may not speak the same language as we do, but they understand safety, abandonment, and loneliness. They might survive, but they will never forget.
29 Feline Funnies for a Terrifically Timely Escape From the Tuesday Grind
We didn't work the corporate life until we were in our 30s. Before we started writing for I Can Has Cheezburger, we were artists, and not quite the starving kind. However, it came time for a change, and we decided to root ourselves down and get a company job for some stability. The transition from making our own schedule and being our own boss to working in an office was quite the culture shock.
The daily commute, the monotony of doing nearly the same thing day in and day out, and the constant reminding people to wash their own dishes in a shared kitchen were things we never expurrienced before. We still have a lot of creativity throughout our days here at I Can Has Cheezburger, as we get to write about whatever we want (as long as it's cat-related), but it's a far cry from rehearsing for a performance and then getting up on stage. Boring isn't the right word, but repetitive is. We used to never do the same thing twice, and now, we do almost the same thing every day.
This is what we call "the grind". It's getting up and doing your best at nearly the same tasks you did yesterday, and the same tasks you'll do tomorrow… and the same tasks you'll do next week and every week after. Luckily, there are some helpful escapes from the purrfectly cyclical environment of your cubicle, and one of the ones we love the most is scrolling through cat memes. They remind us of our awwdorable kitties at home, they make our online expurrience better, and most impurrtantly, they make us smile.
Nobody will know if you take a few minutes for yourself to give yourself a healthy giggle break. We all need our little escapes, and everyone copes in different ways. Ours just happens to be filled with purrfectly cute cats.
Worker refuses to arrive an hour early to shift despite coworkers' demands, insists on clocking in and out right on time: ‘They complain that I come in late’
Any time before 7:45 AM is the wrong answer, especially if you're not getting paid for being there earlier. The concept of dividing employees into shifts exists for a reason, and each workplace knows what they're doing when they set a time to clock in and clock out of every shift. It's all part of a well-oiled machine that you should not mess with.
The coworkers in the story below, however, are currently messing with the shift system, and they are trying to drag the entire team along with them.
Their workplace has two shifts in place: from 6 PM to 6 AM, and from 6 AM to 6 PM. Employees should arrive at work 15 minutes before their shift starts to allow a proper handoff, and to let the employees who worked before log off on time. That worked well enough until a few employees started showing up to work at 5 AM, a whole hour before their shift was supposed to start.
According to these few employees, if everyone arrives at work an hour early to relieve the current shift before their shift ends, everyone can leave work earlier than intended, which makes everyone happy.
Well, everyone except one employee, who doesn't want to go on board this new system. This employee doesn't want their shifts to change to 5 PM to 5 AM, and they don't think they should be obliged to come an hour early to shift just because their coworkers do.
So, while everyone else arrives at work an hour earlier, this employee sticks to the original schedule, which makes the coworkers mad…
21 Secretive Pictures of Cats Playing Hide-and-Seek Like They’re Invisible
Cats treat hide and seek like a competitive sport, and they are absolutely catvinced they are winning every time. The rules are simple: they hide, you seek, and somehow they still think they are invisible even when half their tail is sticking out. It is less about actually hiding and more about the purrsuit of chaos.
They take their hiding spots very seriously. Boxes, behind curtains, inside cabinets, or somehow wedged into places that should not physically fit a cat. It is all part of their master plan. Meanwhile, you are walking around calling their name while they sit perfectly still, convinced their stealth skills are impawccable.
The real twist is when they decide to switch roles mid-game. Suddenly, they are the seeker, stalking you with exaggerated slow steps like a tiny predator on a mission. One second you are looking for them, the next they are pouncing on your ankle like they just completed a full hunt.
Of course, they always act like they nailed it. Whether they were fully hidden or just loafing in plain sight, the confidence never changes. In their minds, they outsmarted you completely.
Manager deletes event planner's spreadsheet, insists on doing it their way, which takes more time; their micromanagement predictably backfires: 'He insisted his way was better. Alright then'
There are certain jobs that are basically invisible when they are done properly. Just like IT, and other break-fix types of systems jobs, where managers will scratch their heads, wondering, "There is never any server downtime! What do we pay them for anyway?" Yet, simultaneously, any time something does go wrong and there is an actual emergency, it's always, "Why is there a server outage? What do we pay you for anyway?"
No matter what, your work is never going to be fully appreciated, and you basically just can't win ever.
Female software engineer stands up to male coworkers, refuses to play Office Mom: 'Let the team fall apart'
And thank goodness for that!
Workplace expectations are constantly evolving. There are your "official" tasks that you're expected to do for your job, there are the actual tasks you perform each day, and then there are often a bunch of tertiary tasks that workers are expected to do. These can be small things, like being the person who goes out and buys a card for someone's birthday, and then walks around the office getting everyone to sign that card. When a coworker finds out they're expecting a baby, someone's got to plan them a baby shower, and it probably won't be the men of the office. Or maybe they're expected to organize a big lunch on the day that the boss comes in to visit.
'My life is forever changed': After adopting an orange kitten, one quiet home became full of purring, cuddles, and chaos
Mouse got adopted and immediately brought peak orange cat energy into his new home. One day he didn't have a place, and now he's fully settled in, acting like he's always been there. He didn't ease into it either, just showed up, claimed his spot, and made himself comfortable right away.
He's exactly what you'd expect from an orange cat. Sweet, curious, a little clueless, but completely lovable. No attitude, no edge, just constant purring, cuddles, and wanting to be near his person at all times. Even purring in his sleep like he's that happy just existing. He's not trying to impress anyone, he's just like that.
And you can tell how much it means to his owner. Not in a big dramatic way, just in how much joy he's clearly added to everyday life. Everything feels lighter, calmer, better.
He got adopted, found his person, and instantly turned a house into something warmer. Peak orange cat behavior from start to finish.
