Big truck guys always act like they own the street, but there are times when karmic justice comes swooping in disguised as a young pregnant woman defending her parents' neighborhood. 

This kindhearted woman is fiery, pregnant, and the main caretaker for her aging parents. Although they were extremely independent, she wanted to be a part of their lives and was frequently helping out around the house. Little did she know, this parental involvement would lead to more chores than she originally imagined, when she was forced to take out the trash: the trashy neighbor and his heinously arrogant park job, that is. 

Contrary to popular belief, big trucks do not own the road. Shocking, I know. 

Behind their lifted axles, beefy tires, and pathetically transparent lack of a personality, dudes who are obsessed with their trucks are also obsessed with being in everyone's way. Whether they're stealing three public parking spots on the street, double parking at the already-small Trader Joe's parking lot, or revving their engines at the red light, truck guys want to be the center of attention, even if that attention is negative. 

Well, this woman gave a guy all the attention he deserved, pointing the HOA and the local sheriff his way, while simultaneously turning every single other tenant in the complex against him. Why? Because when she showed up to take her ailing father to the doc for a checkup, there sat his truck right in the middle of the narrow parking area, blocking multiple garages from entering or exiting. Seeing this truck impeding her father's health checkup lit an unquenchable fire in this woman's heart, and she wouldn't rest until her parents' apartment complex had usable driveways. 

Alas, there's one hero who a villainous truck dude could never vanquish: a pregnant woman on a mission to protect her elderly parents' peace. 

Better watch out, buddy, because she won't rest, and she certainly will not be doing any 16-point turns anymore to get out of her dad's garage. 

Is this lawyer in the wrong field, or is her boss just being way too strict? 

When you sign up to be a laywer, go to law school, take the bar exam, and all that jazz… you should know what you're getting into. The hours are long, and the cases might be difficult. Much like being a doctor or a firefighter, you should know going into this whole thing that your hours are going to be wonky, but that it's okay, because you're passionate about what you do. Or you're passionate about that sizable paycheck. Ideally, both! 

It doesn't need to be Mother's Day for us to celebrate the strength and kindness of all the mothers in the world - even the feline ones.

Cats are truly ameowzing. Not only are they one of the most graceful, beautiful, meowjestic, and loving creatures on the planet, but they are also some of the best mothers around. And with Mother's Day coming up next week, we thought it would be awwppropriate to highlight this unique story of Tostada, the stray cat who adopted a littler of baby possums after their mother passed away.

Baby possums cling to their mother's back for about 2-3 months after being born, which is way longer than we originally thought. That's also a lot of commitment from momma, to not only worry about her own safety, but the safety of her babies, all while they cling to her as she forages for food. Tostada, although clearly not an opossum, still let these little babies hitch a ride on her because they had no one else. It wouldn't be the first time a cat has raised an unusual animal, and it certainly won't be the last.

She struggles under the weight, yet she doesn't complain. Her determination, compassion, and motherly instincts are stronger than any physical feeling she might be expurriencing, and if that doesn't describe what it means to be a mother, we're not sure what does. 

It's uncanny how often in life people will accuse you of the thing that they themselves are most guilty of...

From your parents as a kid to your boss, people tend to have the thing that they would do in the forefront of their mind. If your boss is constantly suspicious of staff, accusing them of being greedy and expecting too much compensation, taking too many breaks, and stealing time, even stealing well, you know exactly what to watch out for from them in return.

That's exactly what was happening here when this babysitter quit mid-shift after being insulted and pressured over pay, sparking backlash from the parent who had moments earlier demanded "professionalism."

When you see that a cat is being neglected, at what point does "stealing" turn into "rescuing"? 

Some people have no business being pet owners. Adopting a cat comes with work, with responsibility. Cats may not ask for much, but they do have needs, and they do have to be taken care of. If you're not planning on taking care of the cat that you adopt, then don't adopt it. Even being stuck in a shelter for more time is better than ending up with a neglectful owner. And if you, as a decent person, see someone else neglecting their cat, what do you do? For how long do you look away? When do you take matters into your own hands?

The person in this story found the line when their neighbors left for vacation without leaving the cat any food or water. The cat was outside, alone, fending for itself, and coming to said neighbor to ask for food and help. This person describes what they did as "stealing their neighbor's cat", but we disagree. They did not steal the cat. They rescued it. They saved it. Any word is more accurate than "stealing". For all we know, they saved this cat's life, because there is no telling how it would have survived outside on its own. 

Workplace karma usually operates on its own snail-paced schedule, but occasionally an opportunity lands on a shared drive in the wrong folder and asks you to make a very deliberate choice about what kind of person you want to be today.Doing nothing is still doing something, and most people know this, which is exactly why the internal justification process gets so elaborate.

Cats may look soft and fragile, but they are strong creatures, capable of getting through anything… with just a tiny bit of help. 

The life of a stray cat on the streets is incredibly difficult. It is something that our sweet housecats would never understand, and we're thankful for that. Stray cats have to fight for everything that they have - for every bit of shelter, every scrap of food. And we all know how lazy cats are, how much they love being lazy and spoiled. Lots of stray cats resort to going into trash cans to look for food, but this one… on top of having to survive the world, this kitty was also sick, and somehow, he ended up finding himself under the dumpster instead of in it. 

He's lucky that a kind person found him and rescued him. But he wasn't quite lucky enough. In fact, this kitty was in such poor condition that the vet told his now new owner that he is "too far gone to save". The vet told them to give up on the cat. But they couldn't. They knew how strong cats are. They believed in their rescued baby. And in the end, that cat made such an amazing transformation, you wouldn't even recognize him now.

Spring hits and suddenly everything feels a little softer. The light lingers longer, the air smells like a childhood memory of seaside serenity, and even the most stressed-out among us feel that tiny urge to slow down for a second. Of course, life doesn't magically stop being chaotic just because a few flowers decided to bloom. We still have endless emails, existential thoughts, and things to work on. They always tell you that mobility will be a big part of the company culture… until there's an opportunity to actually advance.

These three coworkers were all told the same things: that they would be mentored throughout their time at the company, with the strong possibility of advancement. Well, several years in, there was finally an opportunity for a promotion in their department. All three employees felt that, despite a few areas in which they still could prove themselves, they were more or less qualified for the position. As a result, they all put themselves out there with a desire to be considered, and they all underwent a long, arduous interview process, complete with meetings, assignments, and presentations.

Then, one day, they each found out that they did not get the position. Mentally, they all likely prepared themselves for the possibility that the person who will ultimately fill the position would be one of the three of them. After all, their superiors were essentially dangling this carrot for years on end. However, when push came to shove, the company chose to go with someone outside the company. 

Now, they all have to work for this person, and it turns out she isn't nearly as qualified as she was made out to be…

A neighbor who won't stop knocking at your door to ask you to give her things… sounds like the start of a bad 'knock knock' joke.

What was the biggest thing you had to ask your neighbor for?

There are a few acceptable answers to this question. The most common thing people ask for when they knock on their neighbors' door is a few eggs, a glass of milk, or some other cooking ingredient they just ran out of and need as soon as possible. Those are easy enough to ask for, as most people have them around the house, they don't cost much, and it's easy to return the favor when needed.

Some people ask their neighbor for a utility item they currently need and will return in a matter of hours, like a ladder, a lawnmower, or a plunger. Something that serves a purpose, yet not everyone might have in their house.

The neighbor in the story below had the audacity to ask the new tenant for items that are quite weird to ask of someone you have never met before, and it's even weirder that she kept coming back to ask for more. It all started two days after the new tenant moved in, when this neighbor from across the hall knocked on their door and asked them if they had any "extra" furniture they had moved in but were not using.

When the tenant confirmed that all the furniture in their home is being used, the neighbor left disappointed, but that didn't stop her from knocking the next day and asking again… and again the day after that. 

Her requests became more and more bizarre, as she asked the new tenant for a spare bed frame, or if they felt attached to their new coffee table. All in an attempt to get some free furniture from someone she barely knew…

Some neighbors would never tolerate this kind of behavior, but thankfully this one did for the sake of a fluffy kitty.

While this story of feline abandonment starts of rather sadly, it changes its tune rather rapidly. Serving as a reminder that when the universe closes a door, it often opens a window, or in this case a garage door.

It is never easy or nice to hear about a cat who is abandoned by their family. Especially when it is because they decided to move home. The excuse is so poor, so underwhelming that you cannot find the energy within you to muster the effort to spare the family some sympathy. They might as well have left their child behind. But thankfully this story is not solely about the abandonment of a cat child, but about the hooman who helped this left behind feline to find a loving and caring home that would not turn their back upon him.

So strap in for the sweet story of Waffles the feline who was left behind for a cat lover to come along and find him his furever home. We recommend having some tissues at the ready because this story is quite the heartwarming tearjerker.
 

As much as customer service is supposed to be there for their customers and do whatever they can to ensure their happiness, at the end of the day, there is only so much they can do.

When I worked in retail in my teens, I couldn't believe some of the demands customers made and fully expected me to deliver. They would ask for discounts nonstop, expecting me, the wide-eyed teenager who worked the cash register, to perform some cashier magic and give them 50% off the most expensive items at the store. They would want same-day deliveries on items that only existed at a warehouse on the other side of the country, and would always act surprised when I told them there was nothing I could do to actually make that happen.

But the most surprising part, actually, was when they asked to speak to the manager, who also happened to be the owner of the whole brand, and she would swoop in and make all of their demands come true. All she cared about was that the customer left her store happy, and she made the most ludicrous promises to make that happen, while I stood there by her side and marvelled at her work.

Some business owners would truly go the distance to make their customers happy, but even my former boss wouldn't have been able to ensure the passenger in the story below was happy, because there was no way of making her demands work.

Her flight back home from a weeklong trip was cancelled due to a snowstorm, and then she found out that her luggage was boarded on a plane that managed to leave the airport before all the flights got cancelled. This meant that while she was stuck in one place until the storm calmed down, her luggage traveled to her home airport without her. 

As soon as this was discovered, the passenger turned to the airport customer service and demanded that they turn the plane around and bring back her luggage. And while I can understand her anger and fully think the airport made a mistake, there was no way she actually thought they could turn the plane around during a snowstorm just so she could have her suitcase back…

When "don't touch my writing" meets "wait… why does this sentence not have a verb?"

At first, it was just a normal freelance gig. The editor had been working with the client for months, smoothing out drafts, fixing grammar, and quietly removing repetition that made pieces feel clunky. But somewhere along the way, the client became convinced something was off. He started insisting his "voice" was being edited out, even though most changes were basic fixes. What began as small pushbacks slowly turned into a bigger issue, with the client growing more confident that the raw, untouched drafts were the better version.

Then came the turning point. The client formally requested full control, asking for his original drafts to be sent exactly as written. The editor warned him, clearly and professionally, that the drafts had recurring issues that would likely need attention. Still, the client doubled down. So the editor did exactly what was asked. No tweaks, no polishing, just the unedited versions. At first, everything seemed fine. Then the questions started. Why were there repeated paragraphs? Why did some sentences feel off?

By the third draft, the shift was complete. The client, now seeing the difference firsthand, started asking for small fixes. Just a quick look, maybe a light pass, nothing major. The editor agreed, with one small detail: the rate stayed the same. And just like that, things returned to how they had always been, except now the client believed it was his own idea. Sometimes the best way to prove a point is to step back and let reality do the explaining.

Since the weather is getting warmer and the sun is shining stronger and stronger every passing day, we now get to wake up to a cheerful morning.

On some days, we know exactly what our mood will be the moment we open our eyes in the morning. How we slept at night, if something in our bodies hurts when we wake, or how long the cats stay with us in bed to cuddle, all of those are little indications that let us know how good the day ahead is going to be.  Whether the sun is shining when we wake is also a strong indicator. We could have had the worst sleep in our lives and still wake up with a cheer if the sun makes an appearance through our bedroom window.

It also makes our cats extremely manageable in the morning. You see, if the sun is peaking through the blinds, and the bed gets direct sunlight, there is a 100% chance you will find a cat sleeping right at that sunny spot. They don't care about breakfast and have no interest in zoomies if they manage to find a sunny spot to lie down and enjoy until the sun moves along with her day.

And for us? Well, setting aside just how great it feels to wake up to a sunny morning, not being woken up to cat screams about breakfast is also a great bonus. There is something so wholesome about a cat curled up on the bed, warm and cozy thanks to the sunshine, simply content to be alive. We can spend hours just staring at our little fluffballs like that, as we are tempted to throw our workday out of the window and join them for another long and restful nap.

Since we usually end up getting up and enjoying our day of sunny weather, we like to have a few things at our side that ensure we get to keep the smiles going even after the sun goes down for the day, like the silly cat memes below.
