Woman forced to give up her seat on Alaska Airlines because of a "giant cat" who demands the aisle seat to himself: ‘Instead of just letting the cat have the middle seat, they moved me’

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 11:15
We would happily upgrade to sit next to a self-proclaimed "giant cat". Just saying.

Purrsonally, we've never flown with our cats. They're not very adventurous, prefurring their cozy home and alone time instead of the stress of airports, planes, and new homes while on vacation. But that doesn't mean every cat is like that! Some cats love to travel, and we give all those who travel carefully with their fluffy felines a big round of appaws. It's not easy to fly with a pet, even if you're a seasoned purrfessional.

If all goes well, your cat, in their airline-approved cat carrier, will sit under the seat in front of you and sleep most of the way. Maybe, if everyone around you is sleeping or feline-friendly, you can let them sleep on your lap for a while. Unless… your cat demands a whole row to themselves, then you might have to force passengers to change their seats to give him enough room, cause a whole soap opera even before taking off, and get a whole plane full of people to give you the evil eye for the next six hours.

That's what happened on this Alaska Airlines flight. The cat, which apparently belongs to an airline employee, was given preferential treatment over a paying customer. What hurts even worse? The customer actually paid for an upgraded seat… and was seated in a normal economy after. If you're going to downgrade us for a cat, we had better be able to pet the cat, and it had better be a rescued cheetah, or something like that.

Boss forbids employee from leaving their desk, refusing to let them work from other locations in the office, employee confronts him: ‘I'm so fed up’

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 10:45
If you're someone who can sit still in one place and work for 8 hours straight without moving… please stand up.

It's time to shake your legs and move around a bit, because it's never healthy to stay seated in one place for too long. Every worker should be able to leave their workspace and freshen up from time to time, and we don't just mean during lunch break.

If you walk into a modern office, you will probably find lots of open spaces, cozy sitting areas, and inviting couches spread all around the office. The question is, do you ever see people using these spaces, or are they there simply for decoration? Do people prefer to sit at their desks all day long, or do they enjoy a change of scenery from time to time and allow themselves to work from the comfortable couch next to the kitchen, or the beanbag in the corner of the office?

Since we aren't really built to sit still for so many hours a day, we assume that most people embrace a change of scenery and move around as much as they can during work hours. However, if they have a micromanager like the one below, this might not even be an option for them, which is something that should not be allowed to happen.

The employee below shares these thoughts exactly, ever since their boss told them they are not allowed to work from anywhere other than their office desk. This demand did not sit well with the employee, and instead of staying quiet and letting their micromanager get what he wants, they decided to confront him.

23 Meowgical Memes of May the Fourth Felines Fully Feeling the Furce

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 10:30
Every cat picks a side, Jedi calm or Sith chaos.

May the Fourth be with you! Star Wars Day shows up and suddenly every cat in the house is giving off strong furce energy. Some are full Jedi, sitting still like tiny Yodas, watching everything like they know exactly when dinner is coming. Others? Straight Sith. Big Darth Whisker vibes, zero patience, and fully committed to a little chaos.

The furce is strong with these floofs. A little Sky-pawker, a little Obi-Wan Catnobi, maybe even some Paw Dameron energy when things get dramatic. One minute it's calm, the next it's hyperspace zoomies across the room. Very much a surprise attack from the dark side. And of course, plenty of "I find your lack of treats disturbing" going around.

Some cats act like they run the whole galaxy. Perched up high, judging, deciding things silently. Others feel more like rogue smugglers, doing whatever they want and getting away with it. Either way, there is a lot of main character energy packed into one small creature.

These cats have been living in their own galaxy this whole time, we're just lucky enough to be background characters in it.

'I finally have my very own Maine Coon': After months of fostering shy cats, this cat lover adopts an affectionate three-year-old Maine Coon with hip dysplasia who curls up beside her on night one

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 09:45
She signed up to foster, and ended up with a cat of her own.

It started with fostering. Four months spent working with two terrified cats, building trust slowly, sticking with the routine, knowing they would eventually move on to other homes. That's usually how it goes. You help, you let go, and you do it again.

Now this foster pawarent has her very own cat. Wonda is three years old, a Maine Coon who was originally meant to be a breeding cat. Mild hip dysplasia and not getting along with the other females after being sterilised meant she needed a different setup. Instead of another temporary stay, she ended up in a home where she could just stay.

The first night could have been quiet. New place, new person, and everything was unfamiliar. It would have made sense if she hid and took her time. Instead, the second the lights went out, she came right over, flopped down, and settled in. Purring, kneading, and pressing close like she already knew where she belonged.

After all that time fostering, there's no handoff here. No one coming to pick her up, no packing her things to leave. She's settled in, acting like she's always been part of the place, and this time she's staying.

Job candidate calls out interviewer for ghosting them 3 times, then reposting the job: 'Thank you for wasting my time.'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 08:15
This job candidate has come to terms with not getting the gig, but they've decided to go down swinging!

You know what, maybe we need more callouts if we ever want the hiring economy to work again.

Even if you're not currently looking for a job, just ask your friends who are job searching how that's going.

They'll probably do a deep sigh, then tell you about how they make 4 different resumes and submit them depending on the job type.

How they did 5 rounds of interviews, then got told the team was actually going to hire internally instead.

How they got an offer, but it was way lower than they were expecting, and they felt pressured to take the gig anyway, knowing just how intense the market is right now.

Heartwarming story of friendly cat recognizing neighbor years after he moves away, showing the bond between animals and people: 'Almost cried happy tears'

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 08:00
This man developed a deep connection to his neighbor's cat to the point where he thought the cat was a stray! Sometimes fate works in mysterious ways.

He lived 10 years in the same home, and this cat was outside all the time. Purring, rubbing up against him, and excitedly receiving catnip (no food though). The guy thought the cat was a stray before he realized it's his neighbor's cat, who's actually well taken care of. He moved three years ago, and thought it would be the last time he saw the cat. Lo and behold, fate had different plans for him.

‘I'm disgusted. Is this even legal??’: Australian woman discovers her manager has been secretly screenshotting and saving cropped images of her face during video calls for six months

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 07:30
A routine search for a document on a shared drive turned up something nobody was looking for, specifically a folder full of six months' worth of cropped screenshots of one employee's face, all taken by her manager during daily video calls.

27 Gentle Feline Funnies for a Dash of Kitty Cuteness to Your Day

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 07:15
When you think about gentleness, what comes to mind? Maybe a running rivulet of water in the middle of a forest, maybe a countryside with a slow windmill blowing in the wind. Maybe a list of feline funnies to soothe you and add cuteness to your day.

Gentleness isn't just about a feeling. It could be an image, an art piece, or a meme. Speaking of art, the works of Gustav Klimt are some of the best. He was an artist who explored themes of beauty, desire, and intimacy. Women portrayed as mysterious, powerful, or symbolic. His art blends realism with dreamlike ornamentation, creating images that feel both elegant and surreal. His famous one, The Kiss, is iconic for love and intimacy. A couple is in a slightly distorted embrace, while shimmering in gold garb and floral designs. This type of gentleness in art is a message about love. And why can't your cats also give a message about love? Their gentle fur and whiskered noses are purrfect for soothing the soul and adding a dash of kitty cuteness to your day.

Remote employee concerned when new ownership pushes Return-to-Office mandate under a new CEO, pushing higher productivity and always-online culture: 'Our past CEO just jumped ship to let the rest of us drown'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 06:45
Workplaces today have become increasingly vulnerable to leadership transitions.

New leadership can, and often does, mean an entire shift of direction for the company, but it also upsets the balance of company culture and buy-in. When a new leadership team takes control with a different philosophy of business operations and a new target in mind, the impact isn't limited merely to strategy and internal messaging; it has effects on employee security, culture, trust, and autonomy.

'These two chose each other': Elderly cat and neglected ferret become best friends after being rescued from difficult circumstances, forming the strangest but cutest bond

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 06:30
When people tell us that cats are solitary creatures who do not bond with anyone, we scoff in their faces and show them stories like these.

Despite all the efforts that we, here at ICHC, make to educate people about the reality of cats, there are still people out there who believe in the ridiculousness. "Cats don't care about anyone," they tell us. "They're only here for the food." Meanwhile, we're sitting here, cuddled up with our cats, as they sit in our laps and purr their little hearts out.

When cats bond, they bond hard. But it's true that they don't bond with just anyone. They choose - carefully - the people or animals that they bond with. And being picky is no sin. Sometimes, cats choose humans - they adopt us, they snuggle with us, they love us for the rest of their lives. Other times, in the same way that they choose us, cats also choose dogs - despite their differences, just to spite everyone who's ever told them that they can't bond with dogs. And other times, they choose other animals. Like this ferret. Enough time, enough proximity, and this can happen. A bond like this, as long as both sides see each other as worthy, can happen, and it's the cutest thing in the world.

Except that this is not procrastinating, and if you're here, then you know this. Job candidate rescinds application after waiting almost 2 hours to be interviewed: 'It was literally 11:45am. Almost noon. My interview was at 10:00am'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 05:00
Never forget that every job interview is a two-way street.

No matter how desperate you might be to gain employment, you always have the ability to decide whether or not you are willing to accept the terms of a contract. The same goes with the treatment that you receive during an application process. Of course, candidates are expected to present the most professional versions of themselves when they show up for an interview. The same should be said of recruiters, hiring managers, and human resources representatives.

If you feel that the person interviewing you has demonstrated behavior that would not be considered acceptable if the candidate had done it, then you have the right to draw your line in the sand.

Woman refuses to take a coworker's potluck dish after he hands it to her, assuming she’s the help

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 04:15
A workplace potluck is supposed to be the low-stakes part of the job, but one coworker managed to turn the simple act of bringing store-bought cheese and crackers into a masterclass in assumptions.

21 Classy Cat Children and their Beautiful Date Night Bowties

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 04:00
If you are all dolled up with nowhere to go, then why not let these classy bowtie wearing cattos take you to a show…

Well, they cannot quite take you to a show, but they could quite easily put one on for you. It would be a thrilling evening full of zoomies, singing the songs of their people and of course the finale, a mouse hunting frenzy in which the mouse is flung around from corner to corner of the stage like an orca playing with a seal pup it is about to eat.

But in all seriousness, we figured that seeing how the men of the world have seemingly forgotten what it is like to show the ladies a bit of class. That we would put together this collection of bowtie sporting cattos to show everyone how much of a difference even a little effort can make to the way you look and carry yourself if you dress up even just a little bit. So have your date night notebook at the ready and get ready to pick up some prime ideas.

Stray kitten becomes rescuer’s soul cat after being saved from Toronto garbage dump with a surprise litter of cat babies waiting to be born, cat mom says: ‘We have bonded beyond what I ever expected and I am madly in love with all of them.’

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/04/2026 - 03:15
Sometimes you have to dig through the world's trash in order to find your treasure. At least that is what happened to the cat lover in this story who saved the cat that would go on to light up her life, along with her kittens.

We often remark that you never truly know what you are going to get yourself into when you dive into a cat rescue. All you know is that there is a cat in peril, or in bad shape, who needs your help. There is no time to wonder what might happen down the road, because any time wasted can mean the difference between a life of happiness or not.

Which is why we are so delighted when we get to share stories such as this one in which everyone does their part so well and with such good intentions that everything goes sweetly and smoothly. So much so in fact that the rescued kitty's vision problems and her surprise litter of kittens are barely an issue amongst all the love and appreciation shared between this once stray feline and her new hooman. Proof that when love is put at the centre of everything, there is nothing that cannot be overcome.

Company throws anniversary celebration for 5-year veteran worker, then tells him they're giving the promotion he's been promised for 2 years to an external hire: 'The person they hired has less industry experience than me'

Fail Blog - Sun, 05/03/2026 - 20:15
You know the kind of work event where you're supposed to smile and nod and feel appreciated, but instead you're quietly wondering if your manager has confused you with someone else?

Synopsis
A well-intentioned work anniversary celebration takes on a new meaning for this employee when his boss calls him in for a meeting later that week to tell him they've given his promotion to a less experienced external candidate.

There is a growing disconnect between performative appreciation and genuine recognition of long service and a job well done. Pizza parties, token gestures, commemorative mugs, and the like often leave employees feeling let down, wondering what they could have received if they had put that time and hard work elsewhere.

Work anniversaries are a perfect example. Years of service represent consistency and loyalty. They are measured in the accumulated knowledge and growth of the employee, along with their ability to shape teams, commit to stable operations, and often carry organizations through periods of uncertainty. Yet, simple token ceremonies during what boils down to an extended lunch break with some banners and ribbons fall short of making the employee feel valued.

How a Self-Cleaning Litter Box Preemptively Rescued My Relationship

LOL Cats - Sun, 05/03/2026 - 18:15
My boyfriend is the most cat-tastic cat dad I have ever met! He loves his two baby girls, Bubja and Rudy, more than anything in the entire world and would do anything for them. That being said… He is still just a dude, living with another dude roommate, and let's be honest, the cleanliness of any bachelor pad is negligible. So, his litter box cleaning edict is not as tidy as me, his girlfriend, would like.

Bubja and Rudy are both skittish little six-year- olds; Bubja is the petite, fluffy one, and Rudy the sleek, large-and-in-charge one. I can't sit down without one of them hopping on my lap, purring for pets. But, as much as I love them, the litter box is something we do not align on…

Ladies, we are women of the 21st century. We are strong, independent, and leaving behind the antiquated mentality that we have to pick up after our men. We are not their mothers, after all. So, I am constantly fighting the urge to clean that dang litter box when I come to visit my man.

He is trying, though, he really is; he's a good man, Savannah! But I am very clean and thorough, so even when he does keep up with cleaning the litter, it's truly never clean enough for me.

19 ADHD Tweets and Memes from the past Week That Called Me Out Way Too Hard (May 3, 2026)

Fail Blog - Sun, 05/03/2026 - 17:45
Starting a new weekly task thingy when I can't get other weekly tasks done is not the most responsible or reasonable thing to do, but it is very, VERY ADHD. So we'll see how that goes.Enjoy. And if you found something great this week that I missed, send it to me. I will absolutely save it to look at later and never open it again.

21 Cooking Memes for Optimistic Home Chefs Learning to Trust the Process (April, 29th 2026)

Fail Blog - Sun, 05/03/2026 - 17:00
When the recipe says "trust the process", but the process is already judging you

There is a special kind of optimism that kicks in right before you start cooking something new. You read the recipe, feel confident, maybe even a little bold, like yes, today is the day I become the kind of person who just casually makes impressive meals. Then, five minutes in, you are rereading the same step, wondering if "medium heat" is a suggestion or a test. These memes capture that exact journey, where confidence slowly turns into improvisation, and somehow, you are still convinced it will all come together in the end.

Cooking at home is basically a mix of ambition, guesswork, and a surprising amount of talking to yourself. You start with a plan, but somewhere along the way, things shift. Maybe you eyeball an ingredient instead of measuring it. Maybe you substitute something because you refuse to go back to the store. These memes live in that space, celebrating the chaos of figuring it out as you go. It is not about perfection: it is about committing to the process and hoping your instincts are doing something useful.

By the time the dish is done, there is always a moment of truth. You take that first bite, pause, and decide how confident you want to be about the result. Sometimes it is amazing, sometimes it is a learning experience, but either way, you made it happen. These memes remind you that cooking is not just about the final product: it is about the small victories, the questionable decisions, and the willingness to try again tomorrow with slightly more confidence.

Mother-in-law ‘ruins’ daughter-in-law's birth plan after refusing to host a home water birth in her living room: 'I don't want her giving birth on my floor'

Fail Blog - Sun, 05/03/2026 - 16:15
Childbirth is a deeply personal experience. In almost all cases, I would say anyone else interfering with an expectant mother's birth plan is wrong. But in this case, this plan requires the use of someone else's home and comfort.

Providing a temporary place to live for your son and your expectant daughter-in-law when they need it is being supportive and understanding. However, accommodating every request when it affects your comfort isn't always reasonable or negotiable. Certainly not when it involves something as serious and complex as giving birth.
