Former employee keeps getting asked to fix problems after leaving company, discovers why his old managers still can’t function without him: 'She doesn’t understand anything at all'

Fail Blog - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 10:00
Nothing says "you were underpaid" quite like your old company collapsing without you immediately after you leave.

This employee thought he had done everything right before leaving his old company. He gave an entire month's notice, documented his work in painful detail, and made sure the people staying behind had everything they could need. Honestly, he probably prepared more carefully for leaving that job than most people prepare for moving across the country. After years of dealing with micromanagement, zero appreciation, and management acting like basic salaries were charitable donations from the heavens, he finally landed a much healthier and better-paying position somewhere else. Freedom at last. Or at least that is what he thought for approximately one peaceful week.

Almost immediately after leaving, messages from the old company started appearing in his personal inbox. At first, they seemed harmless enough: little questions here and there from his former manager asking for clarification about procedures and files. He tried being polite and helpful because, you know, basic professionalism and human decency still exist. Unfortunately, that tiny bit of kindness accidentally opened the floodgates. Before long, the requests became increasingly bold, including instructions for him to directly fix problems himself despite no longer working there. Then came the truly unbelievable part: one message arrived containing confidential customer data attached to a shared file sent directly to his personal email address.

When in doubt, meow it out: These 25 unhinged cats represent every emotion us hoomans feel during a day

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 09:45
Fur your information. Not everything needs to be explained by hoomans! Cats do it better.

Let's be honest, is there really something better than a cute furry friend to comfort us after a long day at work? I'd say whoever disagrees has never been loved by the most perfect creature on earth. If that's you, let me introduce you to a handful of perfect cats to make you smwile.

New-hire fast food worker told to stand in one place and not move, they comply, standing still and not helping customers for more than 30 minutes: 'I’m sorry, I would get that for you but I’m not allowed'

Fail Blog - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 09:00
What would you do in this situation when your boss has given you a repeated, direct order, but others are expecting you to help?

I think any of us who have worked and are currently working service jobs know what it's like when you're in the middle of a rush, and someone is not with the fast-moving pace that the rush necessitates.

Orders are steaming through, and there's a queue of customers out the front door. There, the FNG (Fun New Guy/Gal) is just standing there totally in the way and without a clue. To be fair, they're trying to help, and they could definitely use some more training when there's time, but right now is not that time. Especially when the only thing standing between the present moment and a customer complaint is complete organization and pure efficiency. It reaches a point pretty quickly when it's just better if they're out of the way, so it's not uncommon to give them some other task that they can handle somewhere out of the way.

Customer calls out entitled Waiter who recorded her anniversary dinner on his smart glasses: '[He] showed us the video he took and asked if he could post it'

Fail Blog - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 08:15
This diner was utterly stunned to realize that her entire anniversary dinner had been secretly recorded without her knowledge.

We're in a whole new age of surveillance. Or is it entertainment? It depends on who you ask!

If you haven't heard of smart glasses, or seen someone wearing them already, you probably will soon. They're everywhere these days. They look pretty ordinary, just like regular glasses you'd wear to improve your vision. But they actually record everything around you… which is a surprise to everyone in your vicinity, who can't even tell they're being recorded.

Feline family finds frostbitten kitten outside but plans to give her away, but their orange cat changes everything by adopting her like a long lost sister, cat mom says: 'He knew before any of us did'

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 08:00
Who are you to say no to your cat when they are so clearly in love?

"No more cats!" are the most famous last words that every cat purrson knows. We've probably said it hundreds of times, and yet, when a new feline friend needs our help, who are we to turn a blind eye when we can make a change that could literally save their precious life? We can't. And yet, we still say that this one is the last one, that no matter what, they won't stay with us. We'll just keep them for a few days until we can find them a furrever home.

But we all know that we're not really in charge of that decision. Our cats are.

Although we often see cats as solitary creatures, many of them thrive with a fluffy friend. So when this family's orange cat fell deeply in love with the fragile, frostbitten kitten they saved, they knew they couldn't separate them. Their orange cat adopted her like a long lost sister, his purrsonality really opening up as they learned to play together, nap together, and even eat together. Soon, they became inseparable, and they couldn't imagine his life without her in it.

And so, the "we were just planning on keeping her for a few days" turned into a purrmanent adoption, and we couldn't be happier for not only the kitties, but for the whole family. They gained another cute cat, and their cat gained another family member. A happy ending for all purrticipants!

'The universe decided to drop a cat in my lap': Tiny flea-covered stray kitten rescued late at night gets emergency dish soap baths, loud purrs, and the cozy forever home she deserves

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 07:15
Tiny kittens really have a talent for appearing exactly when nobody is prepared for them.

A tiny flea-covered kitten showing up late at night and immediately getting named Duck after a dish soap bath really feels like peak Cat Distribution System behavior. Of course the universe waited until 11:30 on a Saturday when absolutely nothing was open to deliver one tiny emergency kitten covered in fleas and chaos. That is exactly how these things always happen.

Duck already sounds like she is adjusting to indoor life pretty quickly too. Two baths, some food, and suddenly the tiny little gremlin is purring like she has lived there forever already. Kittens somehow recover from rough starts unbelievably fast once they realize they are safe, warm, and no longer covered in fleas. One minute they are tiny, scruffy little creatures fresh off the streets, and the next they are curled up comfortably acting like the house belongs to them.

The name Duck also somehow fits perfectly. Tiny wet kittens fresh out of a bath always look slightly confused and mildly offended by the entire experience. Meanwhile the humans involved are standing there covered in soap and flea water wondering how they ended up in this situation so late at night.

At this point Duck already sounds less like a temporary bathroom quarantine guest and more like the newest tiny ruler of the household. One tiny purring kitten is usually all it takes.

Military wife gets hassled by housing while her husband is deployed, so she uses a savvy gardening trick to get back at them: ‘How about oregaNO?’

Fail Blog - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 06:45
Did you know that gardening can be a very handy tool even beyond growing things for your kitchen?

That's right, it appears it can be used as a tool to get back at people in your neighborhood treating you poorly as well. This woman decided to use her gardening for evil, and I support it! She is a military wife, often finding herself on her own at home. If you know anything about military families, they travel often and are assigned housing by a board through the military. This board, however, seemed to be useless. She would have to beg them to help with the home upkeep, but when she did anything "wrong," it would be the top of their priority list. Finally, the last straw was had, after they told her she couldn't use potted plants. Oh, no potted plants? I guess she can just put her invasive herbs straight in the ground then…

31 Hyperactive Memes of Cats Running on Energy Drinks and Pure Chaos

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 06:30
Certain cats really act like they cracked open an energy drink before starting their day.

Some cats seriously act like they start every day with a giant energy drink instead of breakfast. There is no other explanation for the random bursts of speed, the 3 a.m. zoomies, or the decision to suddenly sprint across the entire house like an invisible deadline is approaching. Tiny furry creatures somehow go from completely unconscious on the couch to parkouring off furniture in less than thirty seconds.

Some cats also have the exact vibe of somebody running on too much caffeine and not enough sleep. Big wide eyes, nonstop movement, random yelling from another room, and enough energy to knock three things over before breakfast even starts. One second they are staring into space buffering like an old computer, and the next they are ricocheting off walls with full confidence.

The most overcaffeinated cats are always the ones making the weirdest decisions too. Sprinting into rooms for no reason, attacking invisible enemies, and climbing places they absolutely should not be climbing really gives strong tiny creature fueled by energy drinks energy. Some cats even look permanently wired like their little brains are running at maximum speed 24/7.

Meanwhile everybody else in the house just watches the chaos unfold while wondering how one tiny animal can contain that much energy in such a small fluffy body.

Teenager who already has four feline family members works to convince her father to let her adopt another stray cat: 'I think NotMyCat is about to become NowMyCat.'

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 05:45
Let us spoil you from the beginning, because it's a very sweet spoiler: the dad gave in, the stray cat was promoted to a house prince.

First of all, we're always happy when a stray cat finds a forever home. It's not any regular adoption story that you hear every once in a while from friends, like "I went to a shelter and adopted this puppy". It's a more wholesome and elevated version in which a stray animal gets to have an entire hero's journey, from rags to riches. We love every stray promoted to a pet, but there's something extra special and touching about these heartwarming adoptions.

But as usual, this isn't just a regular "stray finds a home" sort of situation. For some meowsterious reason, the Cat Distribution System likes to give us complex narratives and a soap opera amount of characters. Here, there's not only the cute cat getting adopted - there's the teenage girl who does everything in her power to bring him home, her live-in boyfriend, both her parents with opposing opinions about the adoption, and there's also a cousin in the house. We don't know about you, but we just imagined all of them appearing one by one like a 90s' dramatic comedy show opening.

Florida tourist gets sued by Airbnb host for destruction of property after he discarded the hidden camera he found in the bedroom

Fail Blog - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 05:00
Becoming embroiled in a potential lawsuit over a hidden camera uncovered in an Airbnb was likely not on this traveler's bingo card.

This man was traveling in Florida with his spouse and rented what appeared to be a charming Airbnb in a quaint neighborhood. However, one unfortunate evening, the tourist found a hidden camera in the bedroom that was pointed directly at the bed. While he did not necessarily have proof that there was foul play going on, he certainly was justified in suspecting that something sketchy was afoot.

A Midweek Delight of Morning Cat Memes for Coffee and Cuddles Before Work

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 04:00
Tuesday?! What a day – it exists in the liminal space between the beginning and the end of the week.

If you don't drink coffee then scroll away. Most people in the world have a ritual with some kind of caffeinated drink, so if you're part of the weird class of people who don't need to caffeinate, we don't need you here. Just kidding! But in all seriousness, coffee is so essential. We all are part of some sort of grind, whether it's an office job, a restaurant, or something else. We all need to set an alarm, work, talk to people, exist, and also somehow take care of ourselves while trying to make money. When we're so immersed in this kind of hardworking lifestyle it's important to have something that will help you get through the tiredness of the day.

And what about cats? Of course they don't need coffee. They rest all day while you're at work to have the energy to have midnight zoomies and wake you up. Midweek mornings feel especially heavy because of the weird space between the start of the week and the weekend. Friday feels so far away, and the alarm is screaming at you in your dreams. A midweek delight of morning cat memes should be part of your weekly coffee and cuddle rituals before work. Coffee and cats? What's better?

Some are curled into tight little cinnamon-roll shapes, still fully committed to sleep and absolutely unwilling to acknowledge the existence of the day ahead. Others are stretching dramatically, tiny paws reaching toward the sky as if preparing themselves emotionally for breakfast. There are kittens blinking slowly with messy fur and sleepy expressions, looking like they just woke up from the most important tiny dream imaginable.

21 Happy Kitten Memes to Meownifest a Lovely Mew'd

LOL Cats - Tue, 05/19/2026 - 03:15
Kittens make hoomans feel happy.

With a natural predisposition for cuteness and a hankering for occasional mischief, kittens are the purrfect critters to keep the human mind occupied. When we're around cats, we're never bored because there's always something silly, annoying, or downright fascinating to witness whenever you're in the purresence of a felonious feline.

Cats have ears that only hear the sound of crinkling treat bags (and not the sounds of cat owners screaming "Nooo!" when they're scratching up the bed post). They have flickering tails that knock the leaves off of your favorite house plants, and they have adorable toe beans that scatter cat litter all over the house. Kittens bite your ankles when you are sleeping peacefully in REM hours, and they only cry for kibbles when you're busy, resting, or doing something else entirely. Cats are infuriating beings, but they win everyone over with a certain je-ne-sais-quoi.

According to cat experts, it's the internally driven kitten magic.

"Meowgic," if you will.

Employee quiet quits for 4 years straight, gets a raise and then promoted, they tell how they did it: 'I got a raise and a promotion'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 20:30
Could you get away with coasting at your job for 4 years? Was it really the answer to keeping your boss happy all along?

Synopsis: An employee stopped caring and started simply giving the simplest, quickest responses to any task they were given. Instead of getting fired or put on any performance improvement plans, they coasted for years, eventually even getting promoted.

I think, whether stories like this are true or not, there is a lesson to be learned somewhere in here.

Often in life, what your boss, client, or whoever you answer to wants from you isn't the best answer; it's just a quick answer. If you could get 85% of the way there in 30 minutes, but getting to 90-100% would take another 3 hours, chances are they'd take the 85% every time.

Of course, this doesn't go for anyone who is building bridges, doing important medical procedures, or something important like that. Please, you lot all keep on getting to 100%. But the point is, for most of us perfectionists who want every detail and possibility explored, we'd probably make our bosses happier if we just thought about things less and just got them finished and submitted in time.

Georgia employee calls out Nevada company that hired him, then fired him before Day 1 just as he arrived: 'Completely unacceptable from the hiring team'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 12:15
The unprofessionalism displayed by this company drew millions of eyes after a scorned employee put them on blast.

A lot of people travel for work, and they'll tell you: it's no walk in the park. It's all of the work that goes into a 9-5 job, but your time is bookended by long flights and a stay in a random hotel far from home.

This guy was super excited to accept a job that would require some travel.

It was for DreamHack, an esports convention taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Since this guy is from Nevada, that was a cool job offer, but it would require some 2,300+ miles of travel.

But literally the moment they touched down in Georgia, there was crickets from the team.

This person started asking for details, and the rest you'll just have to read to believe.

New hire accidentally hits "Reply All" to entire company while shading senior management for "unnecessary" and "complicated" procedures

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 11:30
Should this new guy be reprimanded for making a rookie mistake on the job, or should he have known better?

It's difficult to assume that folks who are just entering the workforce for the first time have a strong understanding of what is considered acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Of course, the big workforce violations are usually expressed in a contract or in training. However, what about the smaller things, like professional speak and being respectful of other people's boundaries?

Some people who have been working for a long time might think that these concepts need not be addressed specifically. However, one must remember that in our contemporary society, where young folks have grown up in the age of social media, what constitutes professionalism in the work space might not necessarily be as self-explanatory as one might think.

New barista discovers boss keeps credit card tips to himself, only gives employees cash tips, new hire confronts him: ‘I really needed the money’

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 10:00
Many people find themselves working in the service industry for one thing and one thing only: The tips.

Every minimum-wage job can turn into a high-paying one with the right amount of tips, and for a young adult just starting their life, that could mean a great deal.

So people opt out of calm, desk jobs to work in a stressful environment like a busy restaurant or a popular coffee shop, in order to make a few extra bucks in the shape of some trusty tips. It might not seem like a lot for some, but these extra dollars a shift can really turn someone's life around.

That was the thought process of the new barista below. They started working in a small coffee shop that only pays $15 an hour, after they were told that tips would also be part of their monthly wage. Well, after a while working there, this employee noticed that the tips they were getting weren't actually included in their paychecks.

'He basically fell out of the sky': Tiny blue-eyed kitten mysteriously appears in a greenhouse, wins over an entire family, and becomes the newest furry addition to a four-cat household

LOL Cats - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 09:45
The Cat Distribution System started getting creative with its kitten delivery locations.

One tiny creature running into a greenhouse somehow turned an ordinary afternoon into a full surprise kitten situation. The fact that the first thought was guinea pig instead of cat really said everything too. This little guy apparently came sprinting in looking so round, fluffy, and suspiciously tiny that the brain had to cycle through several possibilities before landing on kitten.

This cat also wasted absolutely no time deciding who his favorite person was going to be. Somehow cats always managed to choose their human immediately, and in this case the husband apparently won the competition within minutes. Meanwhile everybody else in the house just had to accept the outcome. The name Icarus honestly fit perfectly too because this kitten really did seem like he fell directly out of the sky and landed in the greenhouse like a tiny furry meteor.

The other cats reacting to the new arrival made everything even better. The younger cats were curious, which felt expected, but 18-year-old Roosevelt being deeply unimpressed had the exact energy of a grumpy old man watching teenagers make noise outside his house. Roosevelt probably spent years enjoying peace and routine only for one random kitten to come barreling through the greenhouse and change everything in a single afternoon.

Tiny kittens always seemed to appear in the weirdest possible places right before becoming somebody's new best friend.

Manager demands remote employee drive to the office on their 2nd day, forcing them to drive 90 minutes to the office 3 times a week for an RTO policy they weren't told about, they quit immediately instead : 'I thought he was joking. I laughed'

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 09:00
What would you do if you were faced with such a dramatic change to your role on the second day?

A lot changed in the last few years of employment, and, well, a lot didn't.

Employees proved they could stay productive from home after years of trying to convince their bosses that this would be the case. Finally getting the chance to put their money where their mouth is. There seemed to be an implied understanding that the success of this little civilization-wide cultural experiment would mean a permanent change in the way we work. That, when things returned to relative normal, we would all be able to retain at least some flexibility in where and when we were able to do our work.

Sure, there was never really any declaration from on high that "Ye shall never set foot in an office again," but retaining just a little bit of the freedom tasted, the quality of life sampled during those years would have been nice for everyone. Once you've sampled top-shelf quality, it's a little hard to go back to plastic bottles and bitter tastes that commuting to an office 5 days a week represents.

And for those who were hired on a purely remote basis while everyone was working from home anyway? Well, there was no reason to think that there would ever be any change, that you might one day be asked to go into an office that was nowhere close to your home, sitting for hours in traffic to experience an "office culture" that you never signed on for.

'You are overstepping': Aunt tries to parent 12-year-old niece, sister demands she apologize

Fail Blog - Mon, 05/18/2026 - 08:15
It takes a village to raise your kids, but has this person has taken that responsibility too far while watching a 12-year-old niece?

Most parents want, and in some cases desperately desire, a village to help them raise their kids. In practice, that might mean that they watch their kid most of the time, but they also lean on their parents, in-laws, babysitters, or neighbors to watch the kids.
