If you thought that cats and snowstorms do not mix, you would be totally correct and in this story we find out just what happens when a helpless kitten finds itself stuck in a severe snowstorm, until a kind rescuer comes along to save the day.

It is true, other than the long furred cats of Norway and Maine, there are no felines who are adapted to living out in the cold that snow brings with it. Most cats prefer the moderate to hot temperatures of the mediterranean as exemplified by the abundance of cats inhabiting the islands of Greece.

Which is what makes this kitten rescue all the more interesting as we come upon a kitten who had gotten lost in the snow and was looking to be in bad shape. As one would be after marching for countless hours in a frozen and frigid world. But the universe would not let such a sweet soul meet their maker and enlisted the support of a sweet hooman who set a rescue plan in motion to ensure the kitten's safety and to give it a loving home. Family drama is coming for this workplace! 

A lot of people work with their family members for years, even decades, without any issues. So it's hard to imagine why it would be "conflict of interest" for this person to be suddenly employed under their uncle's leadership! 

Just think about how many families you see running restaurants, laundromats, or clothing stores together. They work like a well-oiled machine because they know each other so well! 

Yet for some reason, this worker got the shock of a lifetime when their uncle became the store director at their workplace: they're now going to have to move locations while their uncle settles in.

The pets people adopt are not some piece of furniture to decorate the house. Pets are an integral part of the life you want to live. If you've already made the decision and adopted a living, breathing, existing animal - you're dedicated to them. And this is something a person who has never had an animal friend can't understand. This wouldn't be the first time someone got punished for neglecting to do something they were never obligated to do.

We've all been there. Sometimes, it's a student who gets a bad grade on a paper because they didn't include a section that was never outlined in the rubric. Other times, it's an employee who gets reprimanded for not completing a task that was never part of their job description.

In this case, we're talking about a new homeowner who shared a driveway with his neighbor, but for whatever reason, only he was threatened with a fine for not power washing said shared driveway.

Raising cat kids is never an easy task, but it's a constantly happy one.

When you raise some floofy feline friends in your house, you might wonder why their silliness knows no bounds. How come so much goofiness exists in their tiny bodies? Cats are weird, and it shows. How he got in there in the first place will furrever remain as one of life's greatest meowsteries.

Nobody carries physical cash anymore, which is probably why it's so satisfying to take cash out from the ATM. It doesn't happen to us very often (because who pays with cash nowadays), but when we do, it's always a thrilling expurrience. But imagine walking up to an ATM, expecting dollar bills to come out, and they just don't. You would probably panic, frantically looking for some support number to call to make sure you get your money. And then, you hear some faint sounds coming from inside the machine, only to discover that they're actually teeny, tiny meows.

That's what happened to our technician below, who then called 911 to help deal with the situation. Firefighters arrived, and with the help of the technician, they opened the machine and found an adorably feisty kitten stuck inside. They named him "Cash", who was transferred to an animal shelter to get checked up and ready for adoption. 

Normally, we would be upset if we went to an ATM and didn't leave with bills in our hands, but for Cash, we'll make an exception. 

It's always the big splurgers who insist on splitting the bill evenly. However, when one of the frugal salad-eaters or water-drinkers starts expanding their order volume, suddenly a split bill doesn't sound so fair anymore, does it? 

We're going back to where it all started.

There was one cat meme that started it all. One chonky Russian blue with a silly look on its face and a hunger for cheeseburgers. This one meme started a meowvement that would change the internet furrever. It would begin a new type of internet comedy, a whole subsection of culture that had never existed before. It was one of the first famous cat memes, and we can proudly say that it was ours. 

We might even go so far as to say that this one cat meme is the common ancestor of all cat memes, like the tiny amoeba that eventually became the bipedal monkeys we are today. So, following this logic, all cat memes have essentially been born as a result of the 'I can has cheezburger?' meme. Evolution changes things, that's its nature. So naturally, the cat memes you see today are very different from the memes that were posted close to 20 years ago. There's nothing wrong with that, but we would be lying if we didn't miss those good, old-fashioned nostalgic feline funnies that we used to laugh at when we were wee little tikes. 

Fear not! Nostalgia is in our (funny) bones and we're not about to let it slip away so easily. Our cheezy community has made some furtastically silly cattos in the form of memes that remind us of those sweet days of searching for memes many summers ago. Some are more deliberately inspired, some more loosely, but they all share one common factor: they highlight the silliness of cats and those of us who choose to live with them.

This teapot was clearly for display only, so why would a house sitter casually decide to make a cup of tea with it? 

Although it's not as commonplace these days, many people enjoy putting their finest belongings in curio cabinets or display cases. Complete with bright lighting and shiny glass alongside your finest items, you can show off your favorite trinkets for any visitors to see. How lovely! 

This person trusted a friend to house sit for them, which does take a lot of trust. You have to trust that person not to steal from you, but also not to snoop through all your belongings, and also not damage anything in your home. 

This house sitting experience could've gone way better if the friend caring for the home just didn't open the glass display cabinet…

Oh- that? That trash is the cat's trash. 

One thing that we have learned very quickly after becoming cat owners is that while cats are very regal meowjestic creatures, they are not interested in the finer things in life. They don't care about fancy cat trees. Cats like sitting in the boxes that the trees came in. Cats may appreciate extra fluffy cat beds sometimes, but cats also like napping on plants and egg cartons and other incredibly uncomfortable places. Cats don't care about fancy, expensive, high-tech toys. Cats like playing with the hairband that you dropped on the floor and has been kicked under the couch 14 weeks ago. 

Of course, you, as a cat owner, are at first disappointed that they don't appreciate the money that you spend on them, and then you simply realize that… you don't need to spend it. All you need is to watch your cats and let them tell you what they like to play with and lie on. It's easy. And if that means living with an extensive collection of trash littering your house, well… that's the cat's trash. If the cat likes it, then it stays. 

There is no such thing as a bad cat, only a cat whose love language is a little unconventional. 

As much as we like looking at our little cats and calling them our babies, we do, in fact, know that they are a different species from us. That is a crucial part of understanding them, actually. If you expect a cat to act the same way that a human baby would, you are bound to misunderstand them. People who think that cats don't love their humans are simply people who don't understand the way that cats show affection - because they expect that affection to be given to them in a language that they immediately understand. 

Cats show their humans they love them in small ways. It could be slow blinking at you, it could be turning their back to you, it could be sleeping next to you. All of these count. Not all cats are velcro cats. They don't have to snuggle in your lap for hours for you to understand that they care about you. That's nearly excessive for some of them. And some cats… well, some of them are a little more wary of humans than others, so you have to look a little more carefully to understand their love language. Calling them "bad cats" is not the solution. The solution is understanding that their being in the same room with you is already a very high degree of honor and actually appreciating it. 

You don't have to be a genius to figure out that if your boss schedules an unprompted 1:1 with you during layoffs, it does not bode well for you. 

When a company is not doing great financially, you become hyper-aware of every single meeting your boss schedules with the team. And if someone leaves the boss's office looking somber, you know it can only mean one thing. All you have left to do is hope you are not the next employee who gets called into that office.

The best way to have a better day is to smile, and the best way to smile is to scroll through some cat memes. 

This is an inarguable fact: a day started with a smile is a day started on the right paw. And we are full of determination that this day will be a good day. For that, we need to start it right - with a proper smile. A homeowner found themself the target of mysterious repeated building code complaints over a shed that they had built on the edge of their property, adjacent to neighbors who they thought they had a good relationship with

Should they have notified the neighbor that they were building the shed? Maybe, but the neighbor's approach was far from conducive to a harmonious relationship.

But even if you don't have a fluffy bedtime timer, you can still set an actual timer to announce your bedtime so you can get a good night's sleep every single day.

Second, food. Not all of us can be as strict as our pets when it comes to feeding times; some of us can get so distracted with work and other mundane tasks that we forget to fuel our bodies on time. Then, before you know it, it is the middle of the day, and the only thing you've consumed is your morning cup of coffee and maybe a stale Pop-Tart. If you relate, maybe it's time for your lunch break, and make sure you pour yourself a big glass of water while you're at it; we are pretty sure you could use one as well.
