Raising a cat is a cycle of happiness that never ends.

Every cat pawrent knows the endless amounts of joy their cat brings them. Cats bring so much happiness into our lives that it's sometimes hard to describe it in words. We can tell people who don't know about their precious purrs they do while resting on us, about how cats love sunbathing and get all toasty, about how they perk their tails up to say "hello, hooman, I see you there, and I love you."

This is a two-way street, of course. Because if our cats are happy, they make us happy as well. Raising a cat is like having an endless, unbroken cycle of joy in your house. But cat pawrents already know this. And because you all know this, we asked our Facebook ICHC community to show us all their happy cats, so this endless happiness will reach as far as it can.

When you find your soul cat, you just know they're meant to be yours.

Meeting your soul cat is like meeting your life partner - you just know it's meant to be. Some call it love at first sight, some call us soulmates, but we know the forces of feline fate when we feel them. It's like two magnets gently pulling you closer and closer until you're inseparable. We felt it when we met our husband, and when we met our first cat.

Just like we did, the couple in our story below also felt it. They went to adopt a kitten, whom they named 'Forest' (after Forest Whitaker), and instantly knew he was destined to be a part of their family. "Like a good batch of strawberries … we knew it from the moment we saw him", he said. However, when they went to adopt him, they found out another family had already claimed him. They were devastated, but they weren't about to let their soul cat slip through their fingers.

Whenever people ask us what our "dream job" would be, and we usually tell them that we're already doing it. The only job that for a cat lover that would be better than being a part of the I Can Has Cheezburger team would be to be a live-in nanny for Enya, the famous Irish singer who lives in a giant castle with her cats. To clarify, we wouldn't be Enya's nanny, we would be a cat nanny. Who wouldn't want to live in a castle for free and take care of fluffy felines?

But until we get the call from Enya, we'll be here every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and so on and so forth until the end of time. Because we get to make every day purrfect by finding the fluffiest, funniest, and cutest cats the internet has to offer every day of the week. Here at the ICanHasCheezburger offices, we have a tradition during the last lunch of the week to go around the table and ask everyone about their weekend plans. Sure, we are great introverts, and we are proud of it, but suddenly, everyone wants book or TV recommendations, or they want to know what take-out we had on Friday night. Since when are we the influencers on how to spend the perfect night indoors? We don't like people; that is why we preferred to spend the weekend with our cats in the first place. Why would anyone turn to us for advice?

At least that is the case for this story of cat abandonment and subsequent adoption from Reddit's r/Pets subreddit. Though it is a style of story that we often come across in the cat rescue space. Usually, these tales are a result of a family not being comfortable with having their cat in the house, so the cat is forced to live outside. However, with the cat obviously wanting to be an indoor cat, they usually hang around close to their home, seeking out opportunities to get inside to the place that they are meant to be.

And that is very much what happened in this story, with the added pressure of it being terribly cold around the holiday season. Thankfully though there was a cat loving hooman living nearby who saw the situation unfold and as soon as they deemed it necessary, they stepped in to save the day. And save it and the cat's life they sure did.

Have you ever had a stray cat appear out of thin air? Well, the couple below has. 

On Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, a man and his wife were afforded this little angel in a bucket. They say she appeared out of thin air, and she really did. The wife had just gotten home from work, and he met her outside to help carry her stuff in the house. They had just entered and were walking to the bedroom when they heard a high pitched noise. Barely been in the home for 2 minutes, and already going back outside to see what the commotion is. They went outside, and to the left of their bedroom window they see a black bucket covered in dirt and a poor little kitten huddled in the back, crying and frightened. They bring her inside, but it was late at night. There were no other cats around, and they examined the little girl. 

They named her Missy. She's a young baby, and her first two weeks with the couple weren't the easiest, but they all managed. They took her to the vet, and she's all cared for. She's like a completely different kitten after only two weeks with the couple, and here at I Can Has Cheezburger, we're always happy to hear about a story with a kitten that's saved. Her favorite things include napping, playing with shoes, lying in boxes, dangling clothes, and making her little kitten noises. Read below for all the wholesome details. 

Sometimes it takes just one person noticing to save a whole litter of kittens.

We all like to think of ourselves as very good people, kind and compassionate. But when it comes to the test, there are really only a few heroes who step up to this conceived ideal. And this one person not only adopted the abandoned kitten he found, but as he told on the r/CatDistributionSystem
sub Reddit, he organized a whole search party made of his family and friends to save even more kittens. That's a hero in our books. Our very cat-loving books.

As any regular person who reads this, we ask ourselves, "Would I do the same?" And we'd like to believe that yes, we would. But thinking like this is just the normal human response. In this online house we love cats to bits. If it wasn't clear up until this point that I Can Has Cheezburger is the place for cat lovers, we make this point once more. But we know, somewhere in the back of our minds, that there are people out there who don't even like cats. Now, we live in this ICHC bubble, that it seems absurd to us. These people are obviously wrong. All of us and our twenty cats disagree very hard.

So we're here to focus on our people - the people who love cats. The casual cat content coneisseirs, the fanatic feline fans, and even the crazy cat ladies. All are always welcome under our cat-loving online roof. We're all one, big online feline family that constantly share their love for cats through cat memes and wholesome cat stories. Because, honestly, that's the best.

Pawrents never realize how manipulated they are until they are opening a second dinner at midnight.

Cats are unbelievably good at manipulating their pawrents. A cat can finish an entire bowl of food, walk away for five minutes, then come back acting like they haven't eatenin days. Suddenly they are meowing dramatically, rubbing against legs, and staring up with giant innocent eyes until somebody caves and opens another can.

Cats also know exactly when to turn the cuteness up to dangerous levels. The second they are told "no," they start acting adorable on purpose. Tiny chirps, slow blinks, little paw taps, flopping onto the floor like life has become unbearable. Pawrents never stand a chance against that kind of emotional purripulation.

This kitten treated the underside of a truck like his personal Uber ride into a forever home.

A normal Saturday coffee and car wash run quickly turned into a classic Reddit r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit story after a tiny kitten climbed into somebody's truck and refused to leave.

While waiting in line at the car wash, workers spotted a scared little kitten trying to stay out of the road. The kitten ran under the truck and somehow crawled up inside part of the vehicle near the rear wheel. After a long attempt to coax him out at the car wash, the rescue mission moved over to a nearby Discount Tire where employees immediately stepped in to help.

The Discount Tire workers seriously deserve a shoutout too. They pulled the truck into the bay, removed panels underneath to safely reach the kitten, dried him off with paper towels, and even brought him water. Tiny kittens somehow have a way of turning complete strangers into a full rescue team within minutes.

After that came a vet visit and a mostly clean bill of health for the little guy. By the time they asked whether the kitten had a name yet, the answer was already obvious. Naming him Rivian after the truck he climbed into is honestly perfect.

One second this kitten was hiding inside a truck at a car wash, and the next he had a name, a vet appointment, supplies waiting at home, and a whole new family. Rivi really picked the right truck that morning.

This man's first stop was a Reddit subcommunity called r/CatDistributionSystem, where he sought the expertise and cat-loving knowledge from around the world. With this knowledge and understanding, he had an arsenal of advice at his back, guiding the first few wobbly nights with his new, fluffy best friend. 

When a cat cries, we must answer. 

As a society, humans are morally obligated (or should I say, 'meowrally' obligated), to respond to the calls of a kitten. No matter how inconvenient the timing or location, the cry of a kitten is undeniable. In these moments of pure instinct, cat lovers, or potential cat lovers, realize the magic and pure joy of cat ownership. 

Although no human being will ever understand every nuance of befriending a feline, the benefits are undeniable. Cats bring a sort of peace to our lives. Despite their cuckoo nature, their midnight zoomies, and their seemingly constant need for attention, cats bring an unknown level of well-adjusted wonderment to a human's life.

This man thought that he was a dog lover, but when he came face to face with the glory of feline empowerment, he couldn't refuse. She was sassy, she was sleek, and she was dropped on his doorstep in the middle of the night. How could a dog lover refuse the power of a cat's aura? Exactly, he couldn't. 

Why do cats somehow make every single day better?

Cat allergies are no joke. We're not talking about the hoomans with a sneezing problem, we're talking about cats with legitimate food allergies, like beef, fish, chicken, or sometimes even lamb or rabbit. When their cat had an allergic reaction to the same food they've been buying for years, our pawrent complained to their (very widely known) feline food brand and demanded to know why their "non-chicken" food all of a sudden had chicken in it. The company answered them, but as soon as they demanded compensation, the company ghosted them.

The pawrent in Reddit's r/Pets subreddit did some research and found that they did change some formulas in 2019, but not their package of whitefish food. And yet, their cat still had an episode which caused them to be rushed to the vet because of an extreme allergy… to chicken. No one can explain it, but something here seems fishy, and it's not just the cat food.
