Cats are affecting every aspect of our lives, and we become more similar to our cats as a result. Think about it, you might've had the best ideas for activities during Saturday, but then you adopted a cat and every Saturday becomes a Caturday - the day to rest with your cat and spend some quality cat time with them. And in doing so, while your cat rests on your chest, purring like a tiny tractor, you almost become infused with each other. And you notice this not just because your cat is literally glued to you, but because you start adopting your cat's behaviors.

Your cat can sleep a bajillion hours in a day, and then you feel the need to nap even harder than usual. You had a normal amount of energy, but now you feel the zoomies bursts, just like your cat gets at 4 AM. You were eating okay, but now you want to snack all the time (the next step is to meow every time you want a snack). It's yet another piece of evidence for how strong the cat-human bond is.

As cat people, we have the best source of cat information possible - we have each other.

But when it comes to specifically leashed walks, there might be varying opinions. Like many topics, to be fair. But one pawrent paved the way for cat leash walking experts to put everything in perspective - in ways that even we didn't know about. We're really tempted to try all these new methods with our own cats (who are mostly indoor kings at this point). We're sure these suggestions will be put to good use with this Reddit user on r/adventurecats.

Orange cats, what can we say about them? They're weird for sure, and Walt here is no different. 

It was the beginning of May. A stray decided to jump in a woman's office window while she was working, and this friendly cat made the front page of Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem. The woman suspected that the cat is 1. too friendly for the outdoors, and 2. was abandoned by an owner who either moved away or couldn't have him anymore. He didn't seem like a strictly outdoor cat. She took him to the vet, and eventually asked her adult son if he wanted a cat. The son had recently lost his soul cat, and still not over it. But he trusted the cat distribution system. He knew that when he's called to care for a sweet boy he must do it. He's in the apartment, he's named Walt, and he's already winning over the owner! 

It's never a good time to be trapped under a storm drain…

This woman was on her way to work one morning when she reported in Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem about hearing tiny yelps coming from beneath a storm drain. She immediately called the non emergency number and police showed up. They couldn't help, so they called the fire department and lo and behold, the little guy was saved! It took them time because the drains are really heavy to lift. The little guy spent the rest of the day in Target with everyone until she got off. She even took his photo and put it on their "trainer" wall at work. She named him Bullseye, after the indelible icon from the store. They went to the vet together, and despite an eye infection he's completely healthy. 

It just goes to show that if you hear something that doesn't sound right, to follow your instincts. 

Each and every working day hundreds of hoomans lose their minds due to stress, don't be one of them, calm down with these cute cats.

It's true, work does some pretty crazy things to our minds and stability. Thankfully there are a variety of ways we can proactively treat this incoming stress. Most of these ways revolve around cats, whether it is reading cute cat stories, scrolling hilarious cat memes, or as is in this case perusing a collection of cuddling cats to get yourself set up for the day with a calming work day kick off.

When a cat chooses you to pet it the sensation of being chosen is overwhelming, so we can only imagine what it like to be chosen to be a cat's home and birthing suite.

But that is exactly what this story's cat mom of three got to expeirence when her soon to be fourth cat waltzed thorugh her door and promptly set up camp under her bed. And as any good cat lover can tell you, occurances like this are rare. So rare in fact that they have no specifc name, even tohught they are rather different from the typical cat found by a dumpster story that the Cat Distribution System likes to use.

For in this case it is not a hooman trying to convince a scared cat to come to them for comofrt and help. If anything it is the complete opposite as the cat chose the hoomans, and most certainly did not ask any questions, not to mention that it ended up being more than just a single cat, but in total 4 cats including three babies and momma. We can only imagine the heart swelling this hooman must have felt when she realized how speical her situation was. Thank goodness she had the grand idea to share her story with us all on Reddit's r/notmycat subreddit.
 

Nothing spikes your anxiety faster than a cat suddenly staring at one empty corner of the room like it just saw something move.

Cats staring at walls instantly changes the mood in an entire room. One second everything feels normal, and the next your cat is frozen in place staring intensely at absolutely nothing like they just detected supernatural activity behind the drywall. Naturally, every human nearby immediately starts staring at the wall too because there is no chance anybody is ignoring that behavior.

Cats get so locked in during these moments too. Ears twitching, giant eyes, tiny head turns like they are tracking something invisible crawling across the ceiling. Sometimes they even slowly creep toward the wall like little furry detectives investigating a crime scene. Meanwhile there is absolutely nothing there that humans can see.

The late-night wall staring sessions are always the most unsettling too. Nothing feels peaceful at 2 AM when a cat suddenly sits upright at the foot of the bed and stares silently into a dark corner for fifteen straight minutes. Cats somehow make plain empty walls feel deeply suspicious.

Then, just as everybody becomes fully convinced the apartment is haunted, the cat randomly loses interest and walks away to go eat kibble or nap in a sun spot. No explanation. No follow-up investigation. The wall apparently returns to being irrelevant until the next random staring session begins.

Cats really love reminding humans that they operate on an entirely different wavelength from the rest of us.

A kitten meowing from the roadside quickly became somebody's newest little best friend.

This rescuer in Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit really never stood a chance once Cirrus started meowing from the side of the road. After stopping to check things out, there was no way he was getting left behind. The plan at first was just to safely bring him to a shelter, but that changed pretty fast once the photos started happening. Tiny kittens have a way of making themselves impossible to give up after about five minutes.

The name Cirrus fits perfectly too. A fluffy little white kitten with a gray tuft named after clouds is ridiculously cute. He already sounds like one of those cats who permanently looks soft and slightly scruffy in the best way possible.

The shift from "temporary rescue" to full cat parent mode happened immediately too. One trip for supplies later and suddenly there was a little bed, litter box, and a whole setup waiting at home for him. That is usually how these stories go. Somebody says they are just helping for now, and then the kitten starts meowing, looking adorable, and completely taking over their life.

Then the vet visit somehow made him even cuter. Finding out he was only around five weeks old and barely over a pound makes him sound so smol. Cirrus seriously went from running across a road alone to being warm, safe, spoiled, and completely loved in record time.

"A cat was definitely not on the grocery list, darling."

We all know that cats possess the rare talent of finding themselves in the most bizarre situations. Just last week, our cat managed to jump behind the fridge, and of course, he then couldn't get out. In a matter of seconds, he started screaming at the top of his lungs for someone to come to his rescue. Obviously, we let him out of the little prison he got stuck in as soon as we could, but that still didn't stop him from trying to jump back in there 10 minutes later. These fiesty felines love the challenge, even if they then require a human to get them out of the mess they made.

To be fair, we don't know how the kitten in the story below, which was posted on Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem Subreddit, managed to get stuck inside a random person's car, but we are sure it wasn't her fault. Luckily for her, someone was ready to come to her rescue.

After he managed to rescue the kitten and get her out of the grocery store parking lot they found themselves in, he took her to the only place he could count on: home, right to the arms of his loving girlfriend. At home, the wife set eyes on the tiny kitten in distress and immediately started working on helping her recover from the experience. Together, this awwdorable couple did everything to make sure the kitten sees another day. After a few days of close monitoring and nursing, the kitten started to grow and become a fully functioning, fluffy feline. By then, the couple had already decided they were going to keep the baby and welcome her to the family.

We're not sure if a life as an indoor cat will necessarily keep this kitten out of trouble, but we know her loving hoomans would do anything to make sure she is always safe and healthy. We're just happy she has a loving home to recover in.

When your backyard becomes infested (in the cutest way possible) with kittens, what else is there to do except invite them into your home and love them furrever?

Cats have a meowsterious power to waltz into your life and make you think it was your idea. The kicker is that where there's one cat, there's usually more, so before you know it, you've gone from 0 to 4 cats in less than 24 hours. It's not like we have purrsonal experience with this or anything. We've only three cats, and they were all within the same week. Once the CDS decides that you're ready for a cat, it might not stop until you've reached your full capacity.

But whether you're looking for a feline friend or not, you know you can't turn your back on an animal in need, especially one with young babies who need your love and purrtection. After a couple posted a video on their Instagram page of their favorite feral cat introducing them to her backyard babies, they couldn't not start to care for them and bring them inside. They got mama cat spayed, so they wouldn't have any more surprises on their back patio, and were able to get two of the four kittens adopted (together). The other two they kept for themselves, naming them 'Chips' and 'Grey'. Mama stayed outside but hasn't left their backyard so she can still play with her baby boys whenever she wants. 

Remember, not all cats adjust well to being indoors, so the fact that she stayed close to watch over her babies means a lot. Now all three kitties are purrfectly cared for, healthy, and pawsitively loved.

Purrhaps it's because cats have 9 lives, but these kitties below really like to live their lives on the edge (pun intended).

If you're knew here, the first thing we should tell you is that cats are weird little guys. Their weirdness is not little, but the ratio of weirdness to body size is, in fact, quite large. They will decide the purrfect resting spot is inside the kitchen pan you leave out on the stove and decide that a random piece of lint is more fun to play with than any of the expensive cat toys you've bought them. They will sleep in the bathroom sink instead of their plushy cat beds. But one of the weirdest feline expurriences of all (and pawssibly the cutest) is when your cat shows you their obsession with edges. AKA, becoming a "dangler".

Not all cats are danglers, but you'll see the signs early on. From the meowment they're able to climb, they'll begin by resting their purrfect paws outside of whatever bed, hammock, or surface they're lying on. As they grow in size (and confidence), the dangling will also increase from a paw or two to the whole leg. Is it strange? Absolutely. But is it awwdorable? 100%.

Cats can hear a single treat bag crinkle from across the house but suddenly become deaf when somebody says "get off the counter."

Cats have mastered the art of selective hearing. Say their name ten times while trying to get them off the counter and suddenly they become completely incapable of hearing human language. Meanwhile the second somebody quietly opens a bag of treats from three rooms away, the cat comes sprinting into the kitchen like a tiny furry athlete breaking world records.

Some cats take ignoring people to professional levels too. You can stand directly in front of them calling their name while they stare straight through your soul without blinking once. Then the second you whisper something like "dinner" or "snack," their ears start rotating around like little satellite dishes picking up an emergency broadcast.

The fake ignorance is what makes it even funnier. Cats always know exactly what is happening. They hear every sound in the house. They simply decide whether the information benefits them or not. If the conversation involves cuddles on their terms, food, or opening a window, suddenly they are the most attentive little creatures alive. If it involves nail trims, getting off furniture, or being told "no," they disappear into another dimension immediately.

Some cats even add extra cattitude by flicking one ear slightly while continuing to ignore everything being said. That tiny ear twitch somehow feels more disrespectful than full silence.

Sometimes the Cat Distribution System shows up exactly when a new little life is needed most.

Swabby really could not have arrived at a more purrfect moment. This pawrent explained in Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit that what started as an emotional visit unexpectedly turned into the beginning of a brand new chapter with one tiny flame point kitten. Instead of this little girl getting sent off to a shelter, she immediately found somebody ready to bring her home, spoil her, and completely fall in love with her tiny orange-tipped face.

The Cat Distribution System worked fast here. One second Swabby was finishing up her checkup after being found in the road, and the next she already had a name, a home, and somebody joking about "cutting out the middle man" to adopt her immediately. That kind of instant connection always makes rescue stories feel extra special.

Swabby also sounds impossibly cute already. The little cotton-swab-inspired name fits a tiny flame point kitten perfectly, especially with the orange ears and tiny face. You can already picture her running around the house investigating everything and slowly taking over every cozy spot available.

The sweetest part is that all the old cat supplies ended up getting used again for a completely new little life. Instead of staying packed away, the bowls, toys, beds, and blankets suddenly have a tiny kitten to belong to again. Swabby did not just find a home either. She landed somewhere she was instantly wanted, welcomed, and loved from the second she appeared.

We constantly think we know cats, but they never cease to amaze us.

It's not a secret that colorpoint cats have a tendency to toast over time - it's even a central part of their charm. But seeing before-and-after pictures of a cat's transformation with this much change of color can be surprising. And the surprise on the online faces of the r/ToastedCats Reddit community, after seeing the most scared and shivering white kitten turn into the most beautiful toasted queen, was a big one. But just as the online feline family knows, they turned it into a hilarious thread of cat jokes and humor.

But this is not the only fur change that occurs in cats, even if it is one of the most common and known (and loved) ones. Some black cats become brown in the sun, for example. Cats' fur is like meowgic, and we're just the captivated audience to the surprises cats keep on giving us, even when it comes to a rescue kitten's adult fur.

Cats never fail to make us laugh!

Every cat pawrent knows that raising a cat brings a wide spectrum of silly situations with it. It ranges anywhere from "look at this silly creature" to "how can one little thing make so much chaos?" But what's sure is that cats never fail to make their humans laugh. The confused expressions when something they don't understand moves too fast, the ekekek to birds outside the window, and the sheer chaos of midnight zoomies. Cats prove time and time again that they're the masters of silliness.

So we asked our beloved Facebook cat community to share these meowing moments with us and post a picture of their cats that made them laugh out loud. Let us tell you, we laughed so hard our own cat came to check if we're still okay. It's not only that our cats make us laugh - it's all cats, even the ones online, that make us snort with laughter.

Cat people are known for being introverted. And cats? They're impossible to pin down and define, they're like water slithering through your fingers, and somehow that reminds us of them being introverted. 

The internet is a comforting place for all, but for introverts, there's nothing like it. There's no need to talk to people face to face, to open your mouth and speak, or to make unwanted eye contact with anyone. People may see your introverted behavior as inimical, but cats? Cats embrace this aversion to society and socializing. Cats and the internet really do go hand in hand, for so many reasons. When you spend time with your cat, it doesn't feel like the same social exhaustion that you feel with people. The cat accepts you, and you can sit in absolute silence without harm. How to define introvert? It's typically thought of being shy, but it's more than that. It's closer to being antisocial than anything. Cats, in their mere existence, exude this type of vibe. You really never know when it's okay to pet them, speak to them, or acknowledge them. 

Taco Bell isn't just a place for burritos, quesadillas, and Doritos corn tortillas, it's also where you can find the furball of your dreams! 

This person from Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem was tired and hungry after work. They went to stop at a McDonald's for fries, but this particular McDonald's was all out. So as the cat distribution system works in mysterious ways, it had her drive next door to the local Taco Bell. As she was leaving, she heard loud meows and stopped the car as quickly as possible. She ran out out to find this scared little guy who looks around 3-4 weeks old. Her brother scooped him up and the kitten immediately stopped crying. They took him home, and put him in a carrier. It was already midnight so there wasn't a lot of stores open, but they called the vet for advice and got help. They did the necessary precautions to keep this little guy happy and thriving. The woman even went to search for more cats in that area! 

She says it's not her first rodeo with such young cats, but this one is different. He's energetic, loving, affectionate, and curious. So next time you think you're just picking up a fast food order, remember that the beauty of life is around every corner. 

We already know how many people it takes to change a lightbulb, but how many people does it take to rescue two kittens stuck in a storm pipe?

It seems that so many people were involved in this daring, live-blogged kitten rescue. But the most surprising of them all has got to be the fiancée of the plumber who actually got the kittens out to safety. She just chimed in on the comments and expanded everyone's hearts. We usually hear about firefighters saving a cat - and believe us, the fire department was absolutely involved in this kitten rescue - so hearing about another blue-collar fellow putting it all aside just to help cats in need is a great refreshment. But we appreciate anyone who saves cats from danger, no matter the place, time, occupation, or any other parameter. As long as the cats are safe.

Furry landlords everywhere are demanding luxury outdoor living spaces now.

Cats with fancy catios really live better than most people. Some of these setups look like full luxury resorts built entirely for one spoiled little fluffball. Tiny bridges, climbing shelves, hammocks, tunnels, and sunny lounging spots somehow turn an ordinary backyard into a cat paradise. Meanwhile the cats walk around like they personally paid for the renovations themselves.

Some catios get so elaborate too. There are screened-in patios with multiple levels, giant cat trees, outdoor beds, and little window tunnels connecting directly to the house. Certain cats basically have private rooftop lounges and observation decks dedicated entirely to birdwatching and neighborhood surveillance.

The best part is watching what the cats actually care about once everything is finished. Somebody spends weeks building shelves and hanging toys, only for the cat to spend the entire afternoon staring at one bug flying near the screen or rolling around in the same sunny corner.

Cats also somehow get extra smug in catios. The second they step outside into their little enclosed kingdom, they start acting like tiny property owners overseeing the neighborhood. One paw stretched out, eyes half closed in the sun, acting completely unbothered by the world around them.

A good catio really gives cats everything they love most. Fresh air, warm sunshine, birds to stare at, places to climb, and endless opportunities to sit around doing absolutely nothing in a more scenic location.

These little babies really turned a normal dinner plan into a full kitten rescue operation.

Two tiny kittens somehow ended up hidden in a gutter until one of them apparently rolled right out into the grass and started screaming for help. After hearing crying earlier in the day but not being able to find the source, the family finally spotted the little girl kitten while getting ready to make dinner. She got brought inside, warmed up, and immediately kicked off a full kitten rescue mission complete with emergency supply runs and formula.

Then came the second kitten. While trying to make dinner again, somebody made cat-calling noises outside and suddenly heard screaming back from the gutter. The little guy was still stuck up there waiting to be rescued too. Getting him out sounded like a whole struggle without a ladder, but once he was finally safe, he apparently decided he never wanted to leave their side again.

The image of these two little gutter babies being reunited indoors after all of that is ridiculously sweet. One kitten was already curled up warm inside while her brother was still outside yelling for somebody to come get him too. Kittens somehow always know exactly how to get people emotionally attached within minutes.

Now instead of hiding in gutters, these two already have warmth, supplies, cuddles, and people completely obsessed with them. Pretty amazing turnaround for one Mother's Day rescue story.
