Because, of course, the week is much easier when there's a funny cat on your screen, or a wholesome cat adoption story that can pierce any heart. Are you a cat parent?

As a cat mom or daddy, you want to make sure all your kittens get a chance. Yes, even the runt. But that sometimes tends to only be a human cat parent trait… You see, in the wild, it is usually survival of the fittest. So if you are a cat mom trying to survive in the wild, then you aren't really going to give attention to the cat that is going to keep the rest of the litter back. However, cats don't have to be on in the wild. So that means us humans can rescue a runt and give them the best life ever! As TikToker @kaleihz2g says, "sometimes, all you have to do is give them a chance."

And a chance she gave, indeed! She recently rescued the runt of a litter who was struggling. She named her Marie, and she was covered in fleas, starving, and too tired to even play. This woman brought her into her home, and she is now thriving. But it's not just the human who helped this little kitten's glow up happen. This cat mama has a grown boy cat who was also rescued as a struggling kitten. 

Would you take a vacation day just so you could spend more time with your purrfect cats?

Even though we usually only like to take days off from work for some big events, like vacations abroad, holidays, or weddings, it is also important to take time off simply for your well-being. Sure, it might be tempting to hoard all your PTO so you could take a two-week vacation to Hawaii, but sometimes, a long weekend at home could be just as refreshing, and a lot less expensive.

There is nothing wrong with spending a whole day chilling at home with cute cats, catching up on shows you neglected, and eating junk food. You can wake up without the sound of your alarm clock, never leave your bed, nap every few hours, and no one can convince you that doing that is not much better than spending your day vacationing at the beach. Trust us, we should learn a few things from our furry furriends, including how to relax. Our felines don't care whether they are on a resort in the Caribbean or lying on a pile of clean laundry, as long as they get their sleep. If you really want to impress them, you can open a new snack, and they will be delighted, but even that is not a must. They truly know how to make the best of what they have, and that is inspiring, if you ask us.

The distant meows heard from a trash bin turned out to be this adorable orange kitten. In Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem, this guy found his orange soulmate. He posted about it initially because he had no idea what to do with a stray kitten who needed help. 7 months later, the two are inseparable, and live together in cat-human harmony. It's important to be on the lookout for meows, fur, and cats no matter where you are. Enjoy this story and remember they're not known as one brain cell for nothing! 

Smokey showed up looking for food, but he ended up finding a family.

Cat lovers on Reddit's r/cats subreddit often talk about the cats that seem to choose their humans, and Smokey's story fits that description perfectly. About a year ago, a family opened their front door and found a young cat sitting casually on a deck chair. When they greeted him, he answered with a raspy meow that sounded like he'd been smoking for years. It was a small moment that ended up changing all of their lives.

At first, they assumed Smokey belonged to someone nearby. He was incredibly friendly from the start, but they didn't want to accidentally take in a cat that already had a home. As they spent more time with him, however, they noticed he was far too skinny. He was dirty, dehydrated, and covered in fleas. After getting some food and water, he wandered off, leaving them disappointed and wondering if they'd ever see him again.

The answer came later that night. When the family returned home, Smokey was waiting for them on the porch. The next day they took him to be scanned for a microchip, but none was found. Soon after, he was neutered, microchipped, and officially welcomed into the family.

Looking back, they believe Smokey may have been abandoned when someone moved out of a nearby apartment complex. Whatever his past was, life is very different now. The once-skinny stray who struggled with overgrooming has grown into a happy, healthy indoor cat. What started with a raspy meow on a deck chair turned into the kind of rescue story every cat lover hopes for.

Nobody wakes up on Monday and thinks, "I wish the weekend had ended sooner."

Monday has somehow earned the title of the most unpopular day of the week. After two glorious days of sleeping in, relaxing, and pretending responsibilities don't exist, Monday barges in demanding purrductivity before most people have even finished their first cup of coffee.

Cats seem to understand this better than anyone. If given the choice, most felines would spend Monday exactly the same way they spend every other day: curled up in a warm spot, avoiding unnecessary effort, and pretending not to hear anyone calling their name. It's a lifestyle many humans find particularly appealing around 7 a.m. on a Monday morning.

The real problem with Mondays is that they arrive far too quickly. Friday feels like it takes forever to show up, yet somehow the weekend disappears in the blink of an eye. One minute you're enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon, and the next you're setting alarms, checking schedules, and wondering where all your free time went.

By Monday morning, even the smallest tasks can feel dramatic. Getting out of bed becomes an Olympic event. Answering emails feels like climbing a mountain. Existing before noon seems like an unreasonable request.

Fortunately, Mondays don't last forever. And that's exactly why we asked our darling cat community of the I Can Has Facebook page to show us their cats doing their best, most intentional Accidental Renaissance poses. Honestly, it feels like walking through a museum.

Monday meowrnings are the purrfect time for cuddling your cats. Your alarm goes off, you groggily wake up and feel your cat's fluffy body curled up against yours. You hug them closer, and realize you can't find their head. After rubbing the cobwebs from your eyes, you see that they are relaxing in the shape of a twisty-bobcat-pretzel. If they can manage to be comfy like that, then we can stay in bed for a few minutes longer, right?

One of the most hissterical parts of being a cat owner is finding your cat sleeping (or even relaxing) in pawsitions that are not hoomanly pawssible to relax in. It's a running joke in the cat community that all of our cats come in both liquid and solid states, meaning that they can randomly become thick, normal objects to lift, or basically just a sack of bones and fluids. In their liquid state, we often say that they have noodles for bones because their bones seem to bend in any direction without any resistance. The only bad part is you don't get to choose when your cat is in its liquid or solid state, it's some sort of inner meowchanism that our hooman brains can't comprehend.

Because of the fluid state of our felines, we often find them looking like we didn't read the instructions properly when assembling them. More than that, they look like a hooman chiropractor's nightmare. Their spines are purrfectly flexible, with nearly double the number of vertebrae than we hoomans have. Even though it's relaxing for them, it can be slightly stressful for us. When you can't find your cat's head and can only see limbs, you can't help but think the worst for a few seconds.

There may be endless amounts of cat pictures on the internet, but these one below of flexible felines relaxing in hissterical pawsitions make us want to call our chiropractor, and then get back into bed. It's Monday meowrning, and we don't really need another excuse to stay in bed, but we'll take this one!

We always say the one thing that could make every purrformance better is a cat, but this ballet performance of Romeo & Juliet in Turkey actually got one.

Turkey has the most wonderful relationship with its country's cats. It's the ultimate destination for cat lovers (and for hair transplants, but that's a different story). The citizens there love and care for the stray cats, and there are even lots of laws protecting them. Community animals in Turkey cannot be captured or put down, they must be fed, sterilized, and then returned to their neighborhoods. They're a part of the citizens' lives, and it's not abnormal for them to randomly join into the hoomans' activities, but one stray orange cat decided that it was his turn in the limelight.

Whether by accident or on purrpose, the little orange stray found himself on stage during a ballet purrformance of Romeo & Juliet. The dancers, unphased, continued on with the purrformance as if nothing was there, which is not something we could do if a cat was trying to eat our hair while we were resting on stage. 

Some argue that the brain cell-less kitty interrupted the purrformance, but we think he enhanced it. If you think about it, there were probably lots of stray cats during that time period, so it seems more historically accurate that a cat would wander up to a poisoned Romeo, and loaf on him while he was still warm. 

One thing is fur sure, though, is that this cat stole the show. The video of his star purrformance is going viral on X right now thanks to @Yoda4ever 's post depicting the whole thing. Purrhaps this is the key to getting more people into ballet performances nowadays, simply add cats and see how the audience and dancers react. We might be on to something!

If you saw a tiny orange kitten dehydrated in the middle of the road on a hot summer day, what would you do?

Adopting a cat is rarely something that you actively decide on. Generally speaking, the cat comes to the human and not the other way around. And it can happen to you anywhere and anytime, including when you're just cruising along on the road in the middle of a completely ordinary day. If you were the one who came across this hurt kitten in the middle of the road, as you were just going on about your day, would you have stopped to help?

Going by the condition that the kitten was in when the couple rescued it, he had to have been a long time before anyone stopped. There was no way to miss that this kitten needed help. One look at her, and anyone would have known. We know that most people don't stop in situations like these, but really, that kitten didn't need most people. He needed that one couple who stopped - one couple who cared enough, who wanted to help. That was enough. We need to be thankful for the ones who stop. Because they not only change these kittens' lives, they save them.

Monday mornings are hard literally every time. There's no escaping it. Every time Monday rolls around, we are reminded, yet again, of how sucky it is. And so we try… We try every method that we can think of to make this morning slightly less awful. Of course, two alarm clocks don't help, coffee is too simple, and pretending that today is any day other than Monday never works. But one thing does. Starting our morning with a whole bunch of awwdorable and hilarious cats always helps, no matter the day.

This story from Reddit's r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit is actually quite a unique one and happily it is for heartwarming reasons rather than sad ones. For while there is nothing out of the ordinary in cat rescue circles about finding a kitten alone in a workplace. There is a lot to be said for the amount of people who were willing to put their lives on hold to make sure that this neglected kitten would make a full recovery and lead a life full of love and treats.

Not only was this cat's rescuer and his family more than happy to step up to the plate, and with two cat children of their own that is no mean feat. but also our rescuers' parents-in-law raised their hands and threw their hats into the ring. All of them prepawed to put their sleep and sanity on the line to help out a sweet soul in need. 
 

Senior cats deserve a home, too.

We get it, everyone wants a kitten. They're tiny, they're floofy, they're playful, and purrfectly adorable. Kittens are great. But, they also make a mess of your house, keep you up all night for at least a few months, and can be a handful, to say the least. Not every home environment is suitable for kittens, also. Do you travel a lot? Work long hours? Like to make spontaneous plans? If so, then a kitten isn't for you. But what do you do if you still want a cute kitty to cuddle with?

There's one simple answer: adopt a senior cat. Senior cats can be alone for long periods of time, are often quite independent, but still love your companionship. Most of the time, they just want to eat in peace, sleep, and give you love. They are more grateful than kittens, who are still learning about the world and will never really understand the difference between the shelter and your home. Senior cats, however, will thank you every day for taking them out of the scary, crowded shelter, into your quiet and loving home. That's never more apparent than in @seniorcatmk's Instagram post.

She adopted a senior cat who had been living in the shelter for two years, struggling through every day, just hoping someone would see him and choose him. As soon as he gets into her home, he hugs her so tight and won't let go. He buries his face into her, just so thankful to be someone's favorite. When people ask us what our job is, we simply say "cat memes". Technically, we're in the "internet culture" industry, but because we eat, sleep, and breathe cat memes, that's the easiest answer. As cat lovers and meme gurus, we have a whole theory why cat memes are the best thing the internet has ever created. Don't worry, we're about to tell you.

Cats are the ultimate vehicle for memes. They can be fluffy and cute, or spicy and chaotic - everything just feels natural to them. Basically, they're all made to purrfectly suit you, and hopefully, make you furget about the current state of the world. Let's not take life too seriously, after all, the internet is run by cats.

Living with a cat means witnessing several completely unnecessary overreactions every day.

Cats have a gift for making small problems seem absolutely enormous. A food bowl that's slightly less full than it was five minutes ago becomes a pressing issue. The two kittens, estimated to be around a month old, were found abandoned in a box on the side of the road. On their own, they likely wouldn't have stood much of a chance. Fast forward to today, and it's hard to believe these are the same kittens. Willow and Kit have traded a cardboard box for a safe home, regular meals, and a family that adores them. They're thriving, growing, and settling into the spoiled indoor-cat lifestyle remarkably well.

Stories like this are a reminder that sometimes a single decision can change an animal's entire future. Willow and Kit may have had a rough start, but they ended up exactly where they were meant to be.

Enough to give us that hope and to fill whole lists full of adoption stories.
