These people couldn't believe how perfectly things worked out when they caught liars in the middle of their lies. I mean, that just doesn't happen much in real life. Usually, if you're being lied to, you either find out much later, or not at all. 

Some folks are notorious liars who can't seem to help themselves. You've probably met this kind of person in your life at some point. Oftentimes, we come across stories of people going absolutely out of their way to rescue their pets from danger. Why is it so common for bosses to feel threatened by their competent employees? A competent employee means the whole team's work is stronger. A competent employee means you don't have to monitor their output every second of every day because you can count on them to get their work done and to get it done well. Don't store important files in your email. There, I said it.

The chances of something happening and them all getting deleted are slim, but never zero. This advice applies even more so if you are working in a company with a mail retention policy. These employees were furious when they learned from the IT guy that every email that was older than 2 years was gone, permanently deleted, and irretrievable. They had some important financial documents that they wanted to check out again, but alas, there was nothing the IT guy could do… Except explain that they had gotten a fair warning in the form of multiple fine print across various platforms that they had been using Well, that just wasn't enough for them, and they decided to take it to higher-ups, refusing to accept this as the status quo. I do feel for them, truly, as this has happened to me more than once in my short 30 years on earth. Once, before Google docs were a thing, I forgot to click 'save' on Microsoft Word. And 3 whole pages of an essay I'd worked so hard on were gone.

Do you think the middle child syndrome actually exists? 

For those of you who might not know, middle child syndrome is the belief that middle children are usually excluded, ignored, or even outright neglected because of their birth order. something about being in the middle, after the exciting first child, and before the extra spoiled youngest child, is supposed to feel like you are the least loved one. I am a middle child, I have an older and a younger sister. But personally, and I might even say thankfully, I have never felt excluded or neglected. I do believe every parent has a favorite child, even if most parents would never admit to it, but I don't think it has anything to do with the birth order.

The OP of this Reddit story is not a middle child but is, unfortunately, the least favorite child in his family. The way his parents have treated him is absolutely outrageous. Being the unwanted third kid, OP's parents made an effort to simply ignore his existence. He was constantly excluded from family pictures, never celebrated birthdays, never attended family gatherings, and was even denied from coming to his brother's wedding. Now, after being excluded from yet another wedding, this time his sister's, OP is seriously considering cutting ties with his family entirely.

There is no story that breaks our hearts more than hearing about an owner abandon their pet. We can't relate to it, we can't understand it, it seems… cruel to us, especially after they have been together for a long time. Our cat is part of our family, we can't imagine letting go of it under any circumstances. But what we can understand is that this new cat owner is going through. After being abandoned by its owner, this sweet cat chose a human and followed them home. And now that this cat is here, the new owner and their roommate are wondering what can they do to make this cat happy.

It's one thing to adopt a kitty cat, but it's a whole other thing to adopt a cat that has been abandoned by its previous owner. We can only imagine the confusion and distrust that this cat feels, and the desire that the new owner feels to make this cat as happy as possible. Nothing sows the seeds of distrust from your manager like calling out sick for work; no matter what evidence you have of your illness or incapacity, they're always going to have some degree of doubt—even if they've seen the evidence with their own two eyes.

Cats are known mostly for… sleeping and being lazy, and we, as cat owners, know that is indeed the truth. Yes, cats sleep almost all day long. They're lazy as heck. They do whatever they want. But… this sleepiness and laziness is only true for almost the entire day. The few hours during which our cats are active… our cats are very active. Our cats will start zooming around out of nowhere and for no reason. We turn around for two seconds, thinking that we are safe, and our cats will steal food right off our plates. 

Cats simply cause chaos wherever they go. Cats are goofy, cats are silly, and cats are absolutely adorable. Our cats are everything to us, and when they have their moment of chaos, we don't complain. We do the opposite of complain - we laugh and take a whole bunch of pictures.

Just like Peter Pan, some folks will never grow up. Sure, the idea of what it means to be a grown-up is mainly shaped by societal expectations. Renting a home is a challenging experience… living in a place that isn't really your own under some degree of scrutiny from a landlord whose assets your earnings are paying off… and that's in the best of circumstances. There are plenty of landlords who won't uphold their basic obligations of maintaining their property to liveable standards, charging you more and more in rent—yet, regarding their tenants as an unfortunate inconvenience to their "investment"—refusing to fix anything when it breaks.

Sometimes something very very annoying has to happen to you so you can get rewarded with something very very awesome. For instance, when a huge multi-billion company finagles hundreds of extra dollars out of your hardworking hands, but then due to them being entitled and impolite, you end up getting thousands of dollars in return. It's called karma and it tastes so so sweet. 

Take for instance, this commenter on a Reddit post about a guy trying to get a Priceline refund. The post was about a guy who booked way in advance through Priceline to stay in a hotel for an entire month, but once he got there, there was no reservation. The commenter shared his story about how Priceline almost tricked him out of money, but all's well that ends well. The reservation made through Priceline had "booked them two rooms," but upon arrival, there was only one. The hotel gave them some BS excuse, and they ended up having to sleep in the basement and then pay an extra $600 to get another room later. They were so upset, the complained to Priceline. 

The third-party booking service eventually sent them a full refund about a week later, but then additionally the hotel gave them a full refund. The guy tried calling them and doing the right thing, saying he already got a refund, but the entitled hotel management decided to ignore him and never call him back.
