That's certainly a unique idea!

Remember 10 years ago when everyone and their mother was telling young people to get degrees in computer science and learn to code? These days, that advice is incredibly outdated, but there was a time when everyone thought that was the only way to get financial security. These days, those same people are telling everyone to go to trade school instead of getting a traditional four-year degree. The guy who wrote this post is probably one of those people, and I question his judgment regarding pedagogy.

Our feline babies are purrrfectly lovely!

For all of us cat pawrents, our kittens are the center of our universe. We spend our time playing with them, cuddling with them, begging them to let us pet them and hold them… Our salaries also go straight to them: toys, veterinarian consults, special cat food, warm beds that they never use… They leave us dry, and we let them. We willingly give them everything we have because we are their human servants. In our relationship with them, we are the needy ones, and they are the ones giving us breadcrumbs of love that we gladly accept because that gives us the chance of spending more time with them and not feeling ignored. 

It doesn't matter if sometimes they seem to be functioning on a single brain cell that fell asleep during work hours; they are the superior creatures. We have accepted that already. It's time for the rest of our families to accept it too, and to get accustomed to the idea that our feline furries are the only babies we're going to have. Like someone said once: "Now, our pets are our children and our plants are our pets." We couldn't agree more. 

We're still wondering why our cats are extremely memeable. Every face, every meow, every weird movement, and every time they act like a liquid are moments that live in our heads rent-free and have the potential to become the most viral memes on all of the internet. The question is, why do they act like that? What's going on inside their minds all day? Are they distracting us on purpose to make us believe they are crazy so they have free rein to execute their plan for world dominance? All these questions will sadly remain unsolved until science develops a machine to read cats' minds, or they indeed take over the world. Whatever happens first. We're betting on world dominance. They're not that far from it as it is… They just need to make a few arrangements, and we could have a cat as king of the world any minute now. 

While we wait for that to happen, we can keep laughing at their craziness, and the best way to do it is with these memes!

This time of the week has come, and it's one of the ones I enjoy the most. By now, cooking fails have become so familiar to me that I've fixed the issues that not being able to cook had caused me. And yes, I used to feel very bad about not being able to prepare a good dinner for myself, but I'm totally over that… I think.

The truth is that I don't have another choice, to be honest. Cooking is something that you either master and are super good at it, or you don't. There's really no in-between point. Well, maybe there is, because I know some people who can cook good dinners but are very bad at baking… or people who can cook but aren't fans of making bread. Anyways, I'm already starting to ramble. 

If you're someone who can indeed cook and it's somewhat good at it, I don't think this is the story for you. Sorry, but it's the truth. But if you're like me and you were never able to master that thing we call cooking, then you're in the right place, my friend. I really hope the fails that I selected this time are going to be as funny as they are to me.

Laughing about the fact that I can't cook has really helped me get through that early disappointment, and had force to look for some other hobbies, and that's how I fell in love with running, actually. But that's beside the point. I think that when we are not good at something, we truly should keep trying until we come to the realization that that thing is not for us. It takes some time to reach that point, and a lot of things need to be happening for us to understand that maybe cooking… is just for other people.

Stray cats live a completely different life than house cats. For us, as cat owners ourselves, it's hard to imagine the actual reality of a stray cat's life. All we see are our spoiled house cats living the happiest and easiest lives. But we do get a glimpse of the reality. Whenever I go out to feed the cats around my building, I see it. The little adventures that they have are written in the mess of their fur, in the little injuries they get, in their relationships with one another. It's why TNR is so important. It's why helping friendly strays find homes is so important. But it's not just the friendly stray cats who need our help. Inside even the scariest, least friendly cat can be someone who is just too scared. 

Hawkins Cheezies's story is the best proof of that. He is one of those "scary" tomcats. You know, the ones that you know have been outside for a long time. The ones who have a reputation for being combative, unfriendly, and just generally adverse to human interaction. He's the kind of tomcat who you would think has no interest in being adopted… because he's never shown an interest before. And yet, TNR is incredibly important - for all cats, not just the friendly ones who easily get into the crate. A lot of cat people know that, and some of them are actually willing to put in the effort to make it happen. It took months and months to get this extremely smart ginger in for a TNR, but it was so worth it. Out of that appointment came a cat who realized that humans… are not so bad after all. 

Not everyone is acting against you!

It has become insanely common to read stories where someone feels as if some people were doing things on purpose to bother them. As if they were actively looking for ways to make their life more difficult. They even believe that this kind of attitude is coming from friends and family members. People that supposedly love them are out of nowhere acting in favor of making their life harder. You hear how insane that sounds? I don't know if this comes due to entitlement or if there is something deeper to all this. They really believe they are being damaged by their loved ones out of spite or something.

The story of u/alalufra seems to be just another example of how persecuted these people feel just because they are not getting exactly what they want the moment they want it. Even though the family was actively looking for ways to accommodate the allergies the sister's husband has. But the fact that they were going to provide safe foods and safe dishes to eat and stop the risk of getting in contact with nuts wasn't enough. By the way, this person does not have a problem with being near that food. So the whole birthday wasn't an issue whatsoever. The real issue was, in fact, the people invited. They are the ones who had a problem with the accommodations, not the allergy.

These people need to understand that nobody is trying to damage them. They were invited to the birthday party because they are well-liked by the family. They were going to receive accommodations because the birthday girl really wanted them to come, and they were kind enough to explain this even before they asked because of how much they appreciate them. But no, these people can only see the bad side that doesn't even exist to begin with. Whatever. Is best to uninvite them and avoid a bad moment during the birthday party. And even take this into account the next time the family is thinking of inviting them to anything. 

In a world where everything tries to get you down, you can always count on the feline side of the internet to get your day, and your mood, back on track to be purrfectly pawsitive.

It's quite obvious that many people choose negativity nowadays. With the state of the world as it is, the constant bickering between people over every little thing, and how ruff daily life has become, the easy choice is to look at the glass half-empty and complain. But if everyone chooses negativity, will anything ever get better? What happened to "being the change you want to see in the world"? What happened to hope, joy, and happiness? What happened to smiling at people as you walk down the street, simply because you can?

It's hard to choose pawsitivity. It goes against the popular opinion and forces you to take a chance on something good. It also leaves you the possibility of being wrong, which is apparently the worst thing that can happen to you in today's day and age. But without hope, without taking a chance, things will never get better. You won't get that promotion, your relationships won't improve, and you certainly won't be the purrson your 5-year-old self dreamed of being when they grew up.

So what does all of this have to do with cat memes and pictures?

These things make me happy. They remind me that life can be equal parts silly and serious. They make me smile and want to share my laughs with someone else. They give me an excuse to send a message to my friends saying, "look at this meme! It's hilarious", and start up a conversation with them. No matter how bad I'm feeling, they elevate my day and increase my pawsitivity for the rest of the day.

Are they the solution to all of life's problems? No. But do they help me enjoy the little things in life? Aww-bsolutely.

Sometimes the context of a message is more important than the message itself.

This is an important thing to remember for leaders who may not fully grasp how their communications come across to staff.

This employee, who lives and works in Tennessee near the Dolly Parton statue in Sevierville, says their boss announced via a company messaging app that Dolly's reported passing would bring the business a surge in revenue. The announcement was oddly gleeful, and the disparity between the cold announcement and the absence of any remorse. 

Self-care isn't just for hoomans, and these pampered cats are proving that sometimes you need to paws everything, forget your responsibilities, and dedicate an entire day to looking and feeling furbulous.

The feline spa experience starts with a long, luxurious bath. Well, maybe not an actual bath. Most cats would rather sacrifice one of their nine lives than voluntarily get into a tub. A thorough tongue bath will do just fine, followed by approximately three hours of grooming the same suspiciously specific patch of fur. Beauty takes time, and nobody understands that better than a feline.

Next comes skincare. Cucumbers over the eyes? Absolutely. A fluffy robe? Even better. Add a towel wrapped around the head for the full spa-day aesthetic, despite there being absolutely no wet hair underneath it. Looking fabulous is half the experience, and these kitties know how to commit to the meowment.

Then it's time to relax those hardworking paws. Think about everything they accomplish in a day: knocking cups off counters, making biscuits, scratching the couch, opening cabinets they aren't supposed to be in, and sprinting through the hallway at 3 AM. Those toe beans have earned some serious pampurring.

No spa day would be complete without refreshments, either. Forget cucumber water and tiny sandwiches. Bring out the tuna, crack open the fanciest can in the cupboard, and keep those treats coming. A kitty can't possibly focus on wellness with an empty tummy.

Finally, every exhausted feline deserves a massage followed by an aggressively long nap. Dim the lights, fluff the pillows, turn down the noise, and keep unnecessary hooman interaction to a minimum. Responsibilities can wait.

Cats already treat every day like they're paying guests at a five-star resort. The bathrobes and cucumber slices just make their commitment to self-care official.

We would pay a lot of money to go bowling in an alley with a residential cat…

If you ask us, any establishment with a residential pet instantly becomes much more appealing in our eyes. Why go to a regular cafe when you can go to a cat cafe? What could be better than a hair salon in which you can pet a dog while getting your hair done? The options are endless. Basically, there aren't many places where a pet is not an instant improvement. Even a visit to the dentist's office can become a lot more tolerable with a fluffy feline gracing the halls of the clinic. In fact, we would actually pay more to visit a place that is willing to provide an emotional support pet as part of the experience, and we are putting it out there for any business owner who might want to jump on said opportunity.

When the bowling alley owner who shared his story on TikTok found out that the intruder who kept setting off his alarms was actually a stray cat, he didn't know what to do. Even though it could be really fun to have a new fluffy employee join the party, he knew a bowling alley might not be the safest place for a cat to wander around. However, catching the sneaky little guy turned out to be no easy task.

This set off a series of videos in which the sweet owner tried to figure out what to do with the new bowling alley resident. He befriended the guy, secured him in a safe location, lost him a couple of times, and eventually managed to get him to the vet to see if he had another family. Is this a process HR initiated or some obscure managerial tactic?

Something about this story is fishy. The timing is just off. Everything was going well, and he was receiving very good feedback until he asked for a raise, and suddenly a lot of 'anonymous negative reviews' started coming up out of the blue.

In an ideal world, the employee could contact HR, and they would protect him or at least try to intervene in the PIP with a little extra organization, but if you ask me, I think no matter what he does, he is already cooked.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't know a single example of somebody who has entered a PIP and survived. The only thing one can do in those cases, in my opinion, is to use the PIP time to search for a new job.

Obviously, asking for a raise shouldn't be viewed as a crime, but some organisations would rather dispose of anyone with ambition and hire a person with less experience who is willing to work for less money. It is just how it is.

At any rate, my opinion is very biased and very negative. Do you think this company is really trying to assess a normal productivity issue and is willing to keep this employee?

Or are these kinds of processes always a tactic? What do companies really get from PIPs if that were the case? Because if they fire him in the end, they will still have to pay compensation, right?

If you bring food to a party, do you have to give up the right to know what happens to it?

Hospitality is a wonderful thing, but the nitty-gritty of how it should work can get complicated at times. In theory, all somebody has to do to host a good party is plan an event and create a good atmosphere, but the tiniest of details can end up having a huge effect on whether they are successful with that or not.

You don't have to be an event planner to acknowledge that refreshments of all kinds are a big part of party planning. Anybody who RSVPs is likely to want to be greeted with some kind of spread. Whether you do everything yourself or propose a potluck, there are multiple ways to go about this.

One thing is for sure: it is easy to turn a good party into a bad one when you start to get weird about the food and drink. Every host has their limits, but ultimately, they benefit most from engaging in some well-managed generosity with their guests. Nobody likes to attend an event where somebody is obviously being stingy, for whatever reason.

Nobody knows how a feral cat ended up seven floors up an airport parking garage, but getting her down turned out to be only the beginning of her story.

Little black smoke Bengal Lola had been hanging around an office in the garage for a couple of months before the ASPCA finally managed to trap her. The moment a coworker sent word that she had been caught, her future hooman jumped in the car and drove 60 miles each way to get her. A 120-mile round trip for a feral feline who wanted absolutely nothing to do with people? The CDS clearly picked the right person.

Coming home didn't magically turn this frightened kitty into a cuddle bug. After a vet visit for a checkup and vaccinations, they discovered she wasn't microchipped. She is now, though, because this time there would be no question about where she belonged.

For three months, the space under the bed was basically her entire world. She wasn't ready to trust anyone yet, and her new family let her move at her own pace. Eventually, curiosity started winning over fear, and she finally ventured out.

These days, picking her up is still completely off the table, but petting is occasionally permitted and treats have received a much more enthusiastic stamp of approval. We respect a girl who knows her boundaries and can still be bribed with snacks.

The biggest win might be how easily she fits in with her four feline siblings. She gets along flawlessly with everyone, and one brother even sneaks his ears into the third photo like a proud family member demanding some screen time.

Going from feral garage kitty to treat-loving member of a five-cat household took months, but nobody rushed her. Sometimes becoming family happens one tiny pawstep at a time.

This one's a funny one because I'm not sure how to put this, but if someone came somewhere as my guest and disrespected my cat son in any way, shape, or form, they'll be crossing the rainbow bridge, running on a farm, or gone to doggie heaven like the dog they are. Is that a good way to put it?

So from the piece of information I just gave about myself, you can probably figure that in my book, guests who spray a host's cat with a plant mister for walking near the kitchen do not deserve another invitation. Period. A cat that has visited a family cottage since kittenhood gets treated like a pest by people who said they were excited to meet her? Unacceptable.

Life catches up with you before you know it.

Some people like to say that life is short; others say that it is longer than you think. One thing's for sure: we often perceive time and the age we are differently depending on what stage we are at. When we are kids, the years seem to go on forever, and as we get older, they pass by with an alarming speed. One day, there is a chance that we will wake up and feel the weight of every single hour we have ever lived up until that point, but it is also possible that we will slowly turn into one of those 80-year-olds who claims to feel 21 on the inside.

Given how weird and variable our experience of time can be, it is no wonder that it sometimes ends up influencing some strange decisions. To a certain extent, deadlines aren't real, and we can do almost whatever we want at any time in our lives. However, it is naive to assume that we can make radical changes and not expect other people in our lives to raise an eyebrow. While it is vital for us to eradicate the part of ourselves that cringes, there are occasions when it could be helpful to pay attention to it now and then. That is one of those things that is timeless.

What do you do when people don't respect your property? 

Every human has the right to establish boundaries regarding their personal objects, interactions with others, and a number of other things. When other people don't respect those boundaries, each person is completely justified in enforcing them in the way they see fit. Obviously, no one should exaggerate the situation, but it's true that some people don't get to understand the limit until you shove it in their faces. 

That is pretty much what happened to a woman living with her roommate. They have an arrangement in which they share utilities but buy their food separately. They have different budgets and diets, so they just label what belongs to whom. The arrangement was working fine until one small incident happened. The roommates' boyfriend usually stays there a few nights a week, and he's mostly polite and doesn't get in the way, so they don't have any issues. That until the first woman came home from a long shift at work, planning to eat the food she had left in the fridge, just to figure out it wasn't there. At first, she thought she had miscounted and didn't give it much thought. But when the same thing happened two more times, she realized what was going on: her roommate's boyfriend was eating her food when he got hungry in the middle of the night. The roommate laughed it off like it was no big deal, but the first woman had had enough. She told her that now her boyfriend couldn't stay there during the weeknights as long as he kept eating her food (that he hadn't paid for or cooked, mind you). The roommate said it was unfair, and she was punishing her relationship for a little mistake. 

It seems like no one taught the boyfriend how to read. If all the food in the fridge was labeled, why on earth was he taking things that belonged to his girlfriend's roommate? No one taught how to respect other people's belongings either. The solution was simple: the girl had to tell her boyfriend to stop taking things that weren't his. She didn't, and now she doesn't like the consequences. For people to live together in peace, boundaries must be respected. 

Didn't this kitten's mom and dad teach him that hitchhiking is dangerous?

If you're a Millennial or a Gen Xer, you probably grew up with the concept of "stranger danger". Don't trust anyone you don't know, even if they say they know your parents. And under no circumstances were you to get in someone's car, not even if they said they had candy, puppies, or whatever else they might use to lure you into their vehicle. This then led to the even more forbidden topic of hitchhiking, which was, according to our parents, where all crimes started. But, not everyone grew up learning about the dangers of such things, just like the kitten who was rescued recently from underneath a University of Georgia student's car.

How he got himself stuck inside her car bumper still remains a meowstery, but luckily, he survived the 800-mile drive from New Jersey to Georgia over the course of nearly 11 hours. They only noticed him when the student stopped and saw his little paw hanging out from underneath her car, at which point she called the police for help. Unable to get him out, they took the car to Tires Plus on College Station Road, where mechanics dismantled the car piece by piece in order to get this little hitchhiker out. 

Now safe and sound, this floofy gray kitten is up for adoption thanks to Campus Cats UGA, and from now on, will be riding inside the car instead of underneath it. All of his kitten brothers and sisters will never believe him when he tells them about the craziest Uber ride of his life.

Who needs a motivational speaker when you've got cats clocking in, looking busy, and still finding time to take a nap?

A little birdie told me that someone needed a bit of motivation to start today's workday… I'm here to deliver exactly that!

I'll be honest, there was no birdie. It was me who was in need of a dose of motivation to start my shift. I tried multiple different things, and nothing really worked. However, for some casualty of life, I came across a subreddit with a bunch of working cats! Yes, like you're reading: cats who had jobs and were happy to be there helping. And that was all I needed, because if cats, perhaps one of the species that most love to nap can work, they definitely so can I. And let me tell you, it wasn't just the cutest thing ever: it was also super funny to watch!

You'll see in the collection that I manually gathered for you that there's a little kitty that was rescued from a construction zone. That little orange fella was adopted by the workers in that area and now helps in the main warehouse, where the boys go to download materials and to take a few breaks from time to time. The story is so emotional and so cute that I couldn't help myself and had to add that little kitty to this gallery. But that's not the only one: we have baristas, laborers, librarians… different cats attending their different jobs.

And, I'm truly convinced we can all learn something from this, too. Besides receiving our daily dose of meowtivation, observing the way these little kitties seem to be appreciating their work is empowering in some way, and makes me wanna laugh out my stress and my tiredness. Because this is why I gathered these working cats: of course they're not going to be doing your work, but they are here to prove that you can get through this, one more day. If you have cats at home, then they're probably cheering for you, but if you don't, use these little kitties as your own personal motivators and cheerleaders. You got this!

Shouldn't he want his employees to build close relationships with each other? 

Everyone has a different opinion on friendships in the workplace. I know people who only hang out with their coworkers and don't have any other friends. They will go to Happy Hours five days a week and intentionally hang out with their coworkers outside of work hours! I can't imagine living that life, but if it works for them, then more power to them! Having friends in the workplace can be either really helpful or hurtful depending on how it works out. If you are able to maintain those relationships, they will be an important member of your network for as long as you live! If you and your friend have a falling-out, it's going to be awkward when you have to see them at the office five days a week for the foreseeable future. 

Most of us are friendly with people at work, but aren't trying to make our work friends our best friends. You can give the PG story of what you did last weekend, but you're not going to tell them all of the crazy details. That is probably for the best. It helps you connect with your coworkers emotionally without compromising their perception of you as a professional. You don't want to end up as one of those people on the workplace harassment training video, do you?

A lot of workers don't like having any kind of relationship with their coworkers at all. They go to r/antiwork and talk about how annoying it is that we're expected to be friends with our coworkers in order to stay employed. Well, the guy in this story didn't do that. He took to r/antiwork to complain that his boss's boss didn't want his boss to eat lunch with his subordinates, aka him. Did you get all that? Don't worry if you didn't; it'll all make sense if you scroll down. 

For a purrfect summer day, you need a delicious cone of ice cream and a huge collection of cat memes! 

Summer is nearly at an end, friends, but we are not ready to say goodbye. Sure, a part of us is already longing for those wintery days, cuddled up with our cats under some blankets with the rain gently hitting the window and a hot cup of cocoa in our hands, but we also know that we are going to miss summer as soon as it is over. We are going to miss the longer days and the delicious ice cream. We are going to miss watching our cats sunbathe at every available opportunity. 

Really, there is nothing quite like a summer day with an ice cream cone in one hand and scrolling through hissterical cat memes on our phone in the other. So, we are going to appreciate these meowments while we still have them, while the sun is still out. We are going to paws and enjoy the moment, and we are going to scroll through these memes the way that they are meant to be scrolled through - like the cherry on top of our purrfect summer day.
