Couple ask wedding guests to bring groceries and chairs to their $13k DIY wedding: 'The Fyre Festival of weddings'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 14:00
Weddings aren't cheap, but this bride is planning the "Fyre Festival" of ceremonies, and her friends are giving her a major side-eye over her plans.

People really do put a lot of planning and effort into their weddings, which are touted as one of the most important days of their entire lives.

For those of you having weddings right now, I truly feel for you. It is expensive!

You want your guests to have amazing food, a great dance floor and DJ, you want your bridesmaids to wear gorgeous matching dresses, you want Pinterest-worthy table settings.

Maybe you dream of having a photo booth for your guests to snap pics in all night; perhaps you want to hire a food truck to give out customized desserts. There are endless ways to make your wedding memorable for all the guests involved, and unfortunately, due to the high price point, a lot of couples spend hours on DIY projects.

Gym member insists teen girl get off treadmill, Mom defends teen: 'I can see where her daughter gets her entitlement from'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 12:00
You just want to get through your workout as quick as possible, but that's not going to happen when another gymgoer is hogging the treadmill without even using it.

Isn't that kind of thing infuriating? Of course you try not to bother other people during their workouts, but man, do they do some annoying stuff. Some people wear earbuds with their music playing so loud that it's a tinny whine in your ears. Some folks will plop down on a weight bench so that they can eat a snack, take a drink break, or text their friends. A lot of people have started recording their workouts too, so when you're at the gym, all sweaty and in baggy clothes, you might just wind up in someone's video. Somehow, these people flock to the gym during the busiest hours, leaving everyone else in the gym to try and do their workouts around them.

Employee forced to take meetings during his lunch break, makes his boss regretful by eating obnoxiously during meetings: 'My 1:00 to 2:00 PM slot has been completely free of meetings ever since'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 11:00
Managers who don't respect their employees' lunch breaks should not be respected in return.

This author recounted the time his new boss repeatedly scheduled meetings and check-ins during his lunch break. At first, the employee thought it must have been something urgent and worth meeting about during this time. However, that turned out not to be the case. Fine, then. It must have been a one-time thing.

Then, the next day, the employee opened his calendar to find yet another meeting scheduled during his precious lunch time. When he brought it up to his manager that this was the one hour he got to spend away from his desk during the workday, his manager showed no compassion. Instead, he told the employee that sometimes, sacrifices need to be made on the job. That line would become important later when the author decided to enact some obnoxious but justified petty revenge.

Entitled mom pressures a coworker to give up 1 week of PTO because her vacation time is more important than their anniversary: 'She said parents should get priority'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 10:00
Their flights are booked and accommodation confirmed, but despite claiming a week of PTO on the small business's calendar, this couple's anniversary week got put into question, all because an entitled mom forgot to check her kids' school holiday calendar.

Grandma draws the ire of "unschooling" daughter-in-law after giving her iPad-kid 4th-grade granddaughter a real book to read instead of her iPad: 'She actually needs to practice reading not listening'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 09:00
A grandmother gave her granddaughter a book to read after she realized the girl was struggling to read because she was learning with an iPad, sparking a debate about technology and parenting.

Look, I get that all of us are busy. There simply isn't enough time in the day to do the things that we need, let alone want, to do. Technology has long promised us the ability to reduce or cut out the time it takes for us to fulfill the obligations and tasks in our lives that keep us from getting to the things that we want to and should be spending our time on.

But all of this really begs the question. Where is the line between things that we can be leaving to technology versus things that we should be doing ourselves? Even if, and especially when, we don't want to do them, and there are more convenient technological "solutions" available.

15+ Entitled people with main character energy: 'Every time a customer came up to ask her... she asked if they knew her from TikTok'

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 08:00
These people had a major "main character" moment, and everyone else around them was there to witness it.

Something I see a lot these days while wandering the city is people who are literally singing and dancing as they walk. They usually have their headphones in, so no one else can hear the music. We just have to assume it's a poppy upbeat song by the way this person is dancing their way across the street. Sometimes they'll sing — to music only they can hear — making the rest of us a captive audience to their impromptu karaoke session. This is fairly harmless, and sometimes kind of endearing, but it also does scream, "Give me attention! Look over here!"

There's certainly a lot of micro-influencers who think the world owes them bigly just for existing. I think a lot of these people are working on a "fake it til you make it" kind of basis. They want to be the influencer who turns heads, makes 5 videos a day, and is recognized as a leader in their specific video genre, so they just turn up the entitlement to 11 and make everyone else around them deal with it.

Lazy coworker gives employee the silent treatment after they tell their supervisor about her slacker behavior, then demands the employee take 4 of her shifts: ‘I refuse to do anything for her’

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 07:00
It's always, "Rules for thee, but not for me."

You can play all your cards right. Befriend the mean one at work, never complain when a colleague asks you for assistance, and be a semi-doormat for higher-ups. Even still, you'll always get the short end of the stick. This is partly because you already allow yourself to, but also because everyone wants to take and nobody wants to give. At the end of the day, it's important that you not only look out for yourself in the workplace, but also look out for yourself in your own headspace. If the coworker you trusted now treats you like dirt on the bottom of their shoe for a childish reason, let them. When they need you most, you will be nowhere to be found. That's just how the cookie crumbles.

The story below features two employees, one of whom is a bit of a slacker. The other employee decides to vocalize this to their supervisor, who then speaks to their colleague to settle the slacker issue. Instead of taking the criticism politely, they choose to give the employee the silent treatment. When the employee tries to apologize for whatever they may have done to sour the relationship, the colleague doesn't want to hear it. That is, until they need four of their shifts covered.

Unfortunately for the colleague, the world doesn't resume spinning simply because she said so. The employee wants nothing to do with her, and that includes helping her navigate shift coverage. Even when the colleague tries to rekindle the work friendship, the employee refuses to bend a knee to her childish, manipulative ways. Scroll below to read about the aftermath. What would you do in either position?

Woman disputes $1,500 vacation rental charge after her cousin uses her credit card without permission for an anniversary trip and refuses to pay it back

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 06:00
You don't choose family, that's a given. What you can and should absolutely choose, though, is to cut off a cousin who treats your credit card like a family heirloom that everyone is allowed to borrow

'They panicked when I resigned': Top-performing employee quits after getting no raise in 3.5 years, suddenly management counteroffers with a 37% pay raise and profit sharing

Thu, 02/19/2026 - 05:00
This one goes out to all the employees who fear that the reason they are not properly compensated is that upper management is collecting higher salaries than they deserve.

This author was responsible for bringing millions of dollars in revenue to his company. He had two managers. The first was a friend who once mysteriously said that he was being taken care of monetarily during a difficult time for the company (more on that later). The second was a more standoffish type, the kind of guy that you wouldn't necessarily trust with giving you credit for your own projects.

Despite working at the company for almost half a decade, the employee had not received a proper raise in 3.5 years. When he discovered why that was, he uncovered far more foul play than he ever could have anticipated.

'I could not possibly be happier': 10 Employees who quit their jobs

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 14:00
For these workers, quitting their job was the best possible move.

You don't hear this kind of thing often. The advice, rightfully so, is that you should always attempt to move upward in your career, rather than horizontally or downward. Most people don't want to backtrack and make less money, or lose out on their health benefits. But for a lot of folks, making that enviable 6-figure salary comes with a high cost of it's own. They suddenly go from working 40 hour weeks to spending 80 or 100 hours working with their high-pressure clients and perfectionist bosses. They realize that their kids are growing up without them. They can't even enjoy their vacations because their bosses are contacting them the whole time! It's enough to make them sit back and think, "Something needs to change."

In a brave move, these people did quit their demanding jobs, and many of them feel that they've been changed for the better!

Let's Not Track Our Friendships on Excel Spreadsheets

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 12:00
Making friends has never been more complex than it is today, and this dude sparked a lot of conversation with his claims that he's been measuring his friendship "returns on investment" with a spreadsheet.

How do you determine whether or not a friendship is good for you? There are tons of answers to this question, which could be answered by a therapist, thought leader, philosopher, parent, or your resident Fail Blogger.

I think if you hang out with someone and you leave elated at their presence every time, and your friendship grows richer the longer you know them, that's a good friendship, no?

But that is not a solid enough answer for everyone! Many people enjoy hard, empirical data that backs up everything. That's why people buy Oura rings that monitor their sleep, Apple Watches to track their exercise, and select any of the hundreds of apps used to track diets, travel, dating, goal-achieving, and even Letterboxd, to track movie-watching habits. You can quantify anything you want to, if it helps you (perhaps literally) sleep better at night.

Entitled ex-roommate refuses to come and pick up his table after landlord evicts him: 'If I sell it he'll sue me'

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 11:00
This tenant had a tough time cleaning up after his former roommate's mess, to say the least.

Many of us have had regrettable experiences with cohabitants at some point in our lives. The trials and tribulations of sharing space with someone are often difficult to overcome. People have been raised a certain way and often think that their way is the acceptable one. As soon as you have to share a kitchen, a bedroom, or a living space with another person, all that you have come to know about apartment living could be challenged entirely.

This tenant had the unfortunate experience of living with a roommate who not only refused to honor his own wishes, but the fool also wouldn't honor the agreement he made with his landlord. The worst part of the whole debacle was that the author often had to take the fall for the roommate's inaction.

Arrogant coworker gets well-deserved karma after employee decides to withhold valuable information before her important meeting: ‘This time, I stayed quiet’

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 10:00
When you have competitive colleagues who will do anything to get ahead, they shouldn't be surprised when you decide to return the favor.

We all have that one colleague who would walk all over anybody in the office just so their foot is in the door. When opportunities arise, they're the first ones to abandon ship on whatever project they're working on so they can dip their toes into something more elevated. They're kind of like the teacher's pets of the corporate world; no matter how much they might try to train it out of themselves, it's just not going to happen.

Without fail, you'll run into an opportunity of your own… What do I mean by that? Well, sometimes, an arrogant colleague might not be privy to certain information in the office, and they'll have to rely on others to inform them… That "other" might be you, but you have other plans for this colleague of yours.

Scroll below to read about an employee who decides to withhold important information from their colleague, who usually goes out her way to make the employee's life more difficult in the office.

Toxic boss lays off employee and gives them 8 weeks' severance, unaware that they landed a new job and were planning to resign that day: ‘I posted my… LinkedIn update crowing about my new job’

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 09:00
A resignation plus severance is serendipitous.

Who knew that landing a unicorn job offer, resigning, and receiving eight weeks of severance could happen all within the same week? They say bad luck comes in threes, but what about good luck? Seems pretty rad to us.

Getting a new job is exciting. You're turning a new page, starting a new chapter. If you're leaving behind grayer pastures, even better. Your career is now in technicolor; you no longer have to bear the weight of a toxic boss making you do all the work they don't want to. When you escape a toxic work environment, you know you've truly made it.

The toxic work environment in this next story? Well, the manager who contributes to it tries to chew an employee and spit it out, but fails miserably. Instead, they lose the longstanding battle they have with their employee, whom they just laid off, not knowing that the employee planned to resign… Toxic work environment escape, plus double pay? How poetic!

29-year-old Mom of 1.5-year-old living with 35-year-old in-laws and 2 nieces discovers husband invited ex-boss's family of 4 to stay with them: 'I'm getting more and more upset'

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 08:00
There are way too many people crammed into one house, and they're driving the host up the wall.

You don't always appreciate the little things, like silence, having your own personal space, and having time to yourself, until they're ripped from you. Having kids certainly makes people realize that! You probably see videos or posts all the time from new moms, lamenting how "no one told them" about various aspects of childrearing. It's hard! You won't get much sleep for like, the first several years of your kid's life. If you're blessed enough to have parents who can help you out, or other family members around who can care for your baby, that definitley lessens the burden.

But this person is dealing with her 1.5 year old baby, as well as her 12 and 6 year old neices, all living under the same roof. And yet, even with her husband, brother, and sister-in-law all living in the same house, she's more frazzled than ever. Just reading this story, which you should check out below, you get claustrophobic just reading about this cramped living arrangement.

Employee floods the boss's DMs, dutifully reporting every single moment away from their desk after the micromanager demands to keep tabs on their whereabouts: 'Every time I leave my desk'

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 07:00
He's the one who wanted to keep tabs on his workers, but when his inbox overflowed, he regretted everything.

The boss wanted to know where his workers were at all times; this employee was simply complying with his micromanaging technique… A little too effectively for the boss's liking.

When he asked everyone to keep tabs on their whereabouts outside of their desk area, the boss didn't imagine that his employees would be so literal. After receiving hundreds of menial messages about printer runs, coffee breaks, and bathroom emergencies, he decided that he didn't need to know every little detail, just the ones pertaining to work. Micromanagers all need a similar wakeup call once in a while to realize exactly how silly it sounds to keep tabs on every employee's conscious moments during their shift.

Don't Let the Celebrity Couples’ Valentine's Day Posts Trick You, They're Nothing Like Us

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 06:00

Celebrity culture continues to be the driving force for modern discourse. We put them under a microscope and critique their actions because we're seeking a sign of relatable innate humanity. We're all human, right? At the end of the day, we all go to work to keep a roof over our heads, we love and laugh with the people who matter most to us, and we all get to our own breaking points.

Cheesy professions of love trickled in on social media this past Valentine's Day, mainly from celebs and influencers who likely made big bucks off the posts. It's easy to scroll, give these celebs' posts a like and a comment, and think about how similar we actually are to them. We love, we shower our significant others with gifts and acts of service, and want to shout our declarations of love from the rooftop for all who care to listen.

Though humanity is the binding factor between "us" and "them," that's kind of all there is. The material reality of celebrities' lives is unfathomable, especially when the only "version" of them the public is privy to is, well, their marketed selves. Any celebrities who seem relatable, oftentimes, only seem that way because their entire brand is relatability. When the smoke screen clears, it's evident that we don't even know the half of it.

Manager reprimands employee for texting at the office instead of looking busy: 'Okay, then give me more stuff to do!'

Wed, 02/18/2026 - 05:00
Working in an office where optics matter more than actual productivity and output is, let's face it, a red flag.

Many of us have worked for supervisors who seem to care more about projecting an image of productivity than anything else. This employee, for instance, was so hard-working that he would frequently complete all of his tasks and responsibilities with about 80% of the work day left to go.

Most managers would applaud this level of efficiency, provided that the quality of the work remains consistent. In fact, the average supervisor would likely assign the employee more work in order to make better use of their time. However, in this workplace, things went down a little differently.

18-year-old refuses to give her parents her car keys after they demand she leave her job to drive her 16-year-old and 14-year-old siblings around as a punishment for violating her strict curfew: 'The car is mine, a gift from my grandmother that I pay for'

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 20:00
An 18-year-old high school senior clashes with her parents after refusing to rearrange her job schedule to chauffeur her younger siblings.

Getting your first car is a thing of joy; finally, the freedom to explore the world on your own, outside of your parents' watchful eyes. It feels like that fantastical world of "adulthood" that you've been dreaming of all your life has finally opened up to you, and everything is going to be smooth sailing from here. From the first moment that you hold those keys in your hands, you feel like the whole world has opened up to you, no more waiting for rides from your parents, with their careful analysis of where they're dropping you off and whether or not it's safe, and who you're going to be spending time with. You are simply free to come and go as you please, so long as you follow your parents' rules about curfew; it is their house after all.

CEO demands employee leave their office door open at all times after thinking they were out of office because it was closed: ‘What is even the point of an office?’

Tue, 02/17/2026 - 15:00
Having your own office, with a non-seethrough door that actually closes, is a privilege most employees never get to experience during their career.

Most offices have completely switched to an open space layout, where you are forced to sit across from your coworkers, allowing everyone who passes by see what you are working on, and hear every single conversation being held, with no sense of privacy whatsoever.

There are only a select few who get to have their own office, and even then, most personal offices these days have glass windows instead of walls, so everyone can still see what you do while you're inside. The only actual closed space you might find in the office is the bathroom.

So when the employee in the story below discovered they would be getting their own office, with a non-seethrough door and everything, they were quite excited. They would finally get a chance to work in quiet and be able to focus without the constant interruption of an open space.

Or so they thought…
