Boss dates secretary and fast-tracks her promotion into power, sidelining his longest-serving worker’s career: ‘My career has stagnated while she gets all the good projects’

Fail Blog - Tue, 12/02/2025 - 06:00

Call me old-fashioned, or archaic, but I need to keep the people in my life firmly within their respective categories. Call me a categorizer.
So this story makes me uncomfortable on about four different levels. Office romance is already messy, but this one comes wrapped in a power imbalance, workplace favoritism, and a side of unpaid emotional labor.

Boss hires a secretary, starts acting like the office is a bar with fluorescent lighting, and before long, the whole place is watching late-night drinks, visible love bites, and affection-showing sessions in the same space where people sort orders. When staff raise concerns, the response is not to clean things up, it is to quietly fire half the team and promote the secretary to running operations.

The newly promoted favorite starts shifting attention to a coworker who has already been told there is nothing going on between her and the boss. Lines blur, a few more affection-showing sessions happen, feelings get tangled, and then the ladder suddenly looks a lot steeper. Raises only come after threats to quit. Extra responsibilities come with no real training. Meanwhile, the woman who walked in as support staff now gets overtime to sit and chat with leadership, first pick of good projects, and zero pressure to help when things fall behind.

Peculiar cat loudly meows for woman to open her door but never comes in, turns out that the whole time, she was searching for the previous resident of the apartment who had taken care of her but moved away

LOL Cats - Tue, 12/02/2025 - 06:00

Anyone out there who still thinks that cats are aloof creatures who don't get attached and don't care about their humans… needs to watch more cat videos online. Because nothing can be further from the truth. Cats love their humans. So much. They appreciate your kindness, the gentleness you show them. They may not know how to express their feelings in the most obvious way, but that doesn't mean that they don't feel them. And they don't forget you. Not even when you are not there.

The cat in this video is proof of that. This cat had been meowing loudly at this woman's door consistently for a long, long time. It looked like she desperately wanted to come in. But every time the woman opened the door for the cat, the cat walked away, hissing, angry, disappointed. It looks a minute to figure out why she was doing this, but eventually, it started making sense. After contacting the previous resident of the apartment that the woman is living in, she found out that those residents moved out and, unfortunately, had to leave the kitty behind. The kitty, not understand what happened or why there are new people living where the others did before, keeps trying to get in… and find them again.

Warehouse worker reports safety violations to OSHA, only to then get written up for having an "attitude" problem: 'They make you the problem instead of actually fixing the problem'

Fail Blog - Tue, 12/02/2025 - 05:00

This warehouse employee was labeled "difficult" by his manager after he pointed out serious safety concerns.

Of course, if this were a healthy workplace environment in which the safety of employees was prioritized over everything else, then this worker would be praised for having come forward with legitimate issues. After all, the blocked exits and broken equipment that clearly were ever-present in this place of work should have been examined, and the worker should have been commended for raising his voice in support of safer conditions for everyone.

Instead, his manager chose to write the employee up in his file for being difficult and essentially insubordinate. It just goes to show that it's so much easier for upper management to reprimand an employee for raising valid concerns rather than actually take a closer look at the legitimacy of those concerns. When this manager should have been trying to rectify the situation in a way that would be beneficial to his employees, he instead opted to ignore the concerns and condescend.

He's Had Two Already

Driver watches woman dent his already-battered car and walk off without taking responsibility, so he seeks petty revenge by covering her entire car in ugly 50-cent stickers: 'She was throwing the biggest hissy-fit of her life'

Fail Blog - Tue, 12/02/2025 - 04:00

Now, here's a form of petty revenge that we can get behind. If you were a kid who grew up treasuring your 50+ page sticker book, then this colorful story is for you! There's just something about those whimsical, sticky-backed images that brought us kids so much joy…and who says that thrill, or use, needs to be limited to ten-year-olds? Maybe stickers can serve a purpose far beyond filling flip-file pages or decorating the apple upon our laptops…Perhaps they could become the perfect 'weapon' in a major act of petty revenge?

This man would know, as the perpetrator of this sticky crime… Just days before this driver was getting ready to sell his pretty beat-up Chevy Aveo, he was sitting in a parking lot. Within a matter of minutes, a woman drove up to the parking spot next to him (though some could have sworn she was aiming directly for his parking spot) and ended up denting his car's passenger side…But before he could confront her, she ran off, refusing to take accountability. So instead of keying her car, he came up with a much more unique form of revenge…and started collecting piles of the ugliest 50-cent stickers from some old machine, that he'd use to decorate her car as a declaration of thanks…

20-year-old woman refuses to give up the cat she planned to adopt after foster family informs her their kids got attached to the kitten, leading to a dispute: ‘She is not the owner’

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 20:00

Unlike when you go on Facebook Marketplace to buy a second-hand sofa, when someone decides to adopt a pet, it shouldn't be based on a picture and a short description. Adopting a pet is a huge deal, a question of compatibility and bond, not just whether you liked the color of their fur and the general description of their personality.

Which means that if you want to adopt a pet you found in a post on social media, you have to arrange a meeting first, to make sure you actually belong together. Just like any relationship, you must check the waters and ensure the adoption is a good fit.

That is a vital step that the woman in the story below skipped. She planned to adopt a kitten she had never met, and didn't intend to meet before adopting her. However, she needed a few weeks before adopting the kitten, and while the owner initially agreed, this led the foster family to bond with the kitten in the meantime.

Now, the foster family doesn't want to give the kitten up, and the original adopter, despite never even meeting the cat, refuses to give up…

20 Funny Memes of Cats Loving Their Hoomans Almost As Much As Snacks

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 17:00

Cats absolutely adore their hoomans… but their reasons are a perfect mix of heartfelt and hilariously self-interested. Yes, they love you, but they also love that you're the reliable provider of snacks, warmth, and a perfectly cushioned lap. One reason for affection? You open the food container. Another? You know just the right spot to scratch. Cats may be mysterious, but they're not subtle about appreciating the perks.

They show love by weaving around your legs, not just because they missed you, but because you might trip and spill treats. They stretch out on your chest because they feel safe there and because it's the warmest seat in the house. And that slow blink you get from across the room? Deep affection, of course… plus a reminder to keep the treats coming.

Even their "gifts" are a mix of sweet and slightly chaotic. A toy dropped at your feet is love. A shoe stolen from your closet? Love with a dash of mischief. At the end of the day, cats show affection in funny, tiny, charming ways. They may love your heart, but they definitely also love your snack-dispensing hands.

Person finally lands a job interview after 2 months of unemployment, ends up laughing in their faces after hearing the farcically exploitative proposition: ‘[They're] Glassdoor rating is 2.1…’

Fail Blog - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 16:00

If you are currently in the job market looking to get hired, just remember that an interview goes both ways. They are seeing if you are a good fit for the job, and YOU are also seeing if the job is a good fit for you. So when this person laughed so hard in a job interview that she left hoping to not get an offer, we actually applaud it.

This person had been unemployed and searching for a job for two months already. When they were offered an interview from a company that has a 2.1 rating on Glassdoor, they knew it was most likely not going to be a good fit, but it's still good to practice your interview skills. Plus, who knows, maybe they would actually end up being chill! Spoiler alert: They did NOT end up being chill in the slightest. This entitled "company" had the audacity to offer a minimum wage job that demanded almost 80 hours out of your week. You also would have to pay $700 a month for your own health insurance "benefit" (Do you see any benefit there?), and do "mandatory overtime" every Saturday that did not give overtime payment… Like, girl, what?? The math ain't mathin'…

What would you do if a company was saying red flag after red flag during your job interview? Would you have also laughed out loud in their faces? We sure hope so.

20 Pawfect Pictures of Cats Vacation-Dreaming and Missing Summer Beach Days

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 16:00

Cats may not be the first animals you think of when it comes to beach days, but the ones who've tasted that warm, sandy sunshine seem to miss it the most. Looking back at photos of cats lounging by the shore, stretched out on sun-drenched towels, or curiously patting at tide pools, it's easy to see why they'd want those golden days back. Warm sand under their paws, ocean breezes ruffling their whiskers, and endless sunny spots to snooze in. It's basically a paradise built for feline relaxation.

Now that the weather has cooled, those warm memories feel even sweeter. These beach lounging cats suddenly seems to be thinking, "Take me back. Even the curious explorers sniffing seaweed or watching seagulls look like they were living their best summer lives.

As colder days settle in, these beach photos feel like little portals to brighter moments. They remind us how naturally cats melt into sunshine, how happy they look exploring new places, and how full of purrsonality they can be when the world is warm and inviting.

'I saw my cat waiting by the door and crying': Couple leaves for long vacation and worries about their kitty being all alone, spoiling their trip

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 15:00

Going on vacation is a double edged sword. On one hand, it's exciting and an opportunity to experience a new place, new people, eat delicious foods, and gain insight into another culture, to take a break from the grind and 9-5 pace. On the other hand, it's planning, booking hotels, spending hours flying somewhere and waiting in lines at the airport, and can feel overwhelming to feel pressure to do a lot while you're there. It's not always easy to leave your day to day life, even if it's for a vacation. The best vacation to me is just to be resting at home, have my comfort things, my anime shows, and my cat.

The couple in the story below leave for a long vacation, and they have anxiety about leaving their cat. They've left for a trip before, but this time they're extra nervous because they can see their cat waiting by the door and crying. Would you leave your cat for a long trip even if someone was coming to watch it? A lot of the comments are claiming it's cruel to do, and that they wouldn't. Depending on the cat, it could be cruel, or the cat could be fine.

Industrial warehouse employees find out boss sold their workplace fridge, they demand a new one, but he refuses: ‘He sold something the whole team uses, with no replacement’

Fail Blog - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 14:00

Every workplace is different, every office has its own look and facilities, but one thing must exist in every single workplace, no matter what: A fridge.

It doesn't matter what you do for work, or where you do it, if you are there full-time, for 8 hours a day, then you are entitled to lunch. And in order for you to each lunch, you must have somewhere cold to preserve your food. It is the bare minimum for a workplace to have a decent area for employees to take a break, and that includes a fridge.

The warehouse workers in the story below are not exempt from this basic workplace condition, and yet they have found themselves without a fridge at work. Why? because their boss went ahead and sold their fridge, without so much as a word to them about it.

So when these employees came to work one morning, they saw their fridge being taken away, and when they asked their boss about a replacement, he came up with a few conditions that proved that he does not intend to get his workers what they rightfully deserve.

30 Purrfect Kitty Memes For Mood-Boosting Mondays

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 14:00

Got a case of the Mondays? Because if you do, these cat memes are sure to turn around the beginning of the week funk! The alarm goes off, your cat is in your face meowing, you have the previous evenings engagements still rolling around in your brain, and the last thing you want to do is go to work. You get up and out of bed, you go towards the bathroom where your cat playfully follows you, still meowing as you brush your teeth. That tiny thing is just hankering for a bit of breakfast before you leave for work.

On the ride to work, you have two options. One is to grunt at the cars next to you and ruminate on the chaos of life, or it's to ponder the beauty and curiosity of cat memes. The glorious, chaotic, life-giving kitty memes. And not just a few… but thirty. A whole purr-ade of whiskered wonders ready to tackle your Monday blues head-on. Why do cat memes work so well? It's science (probably). Something about a perfectly timed blep, a dramatically offended tuxedo cat, or a chunky tabby looking like he's about to file HR complaints against the vacuum cleaner. One scroll, and suddenly your shoulders relax. Two scrolls, and you're giggling at a cat standing like a man. Three scrolls, and you've activated the ancient mood-boosting chakra known as "awww."

Bartender runs into entitled regular customer who never tips outside of work, she accidentally gifts him $81: 'The way I look at it? All those lost tips and the money she just gifted me was just karma'

Fail Blog - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 13:00

Every so often, karma has its way of doing the work for you.

This bartender found himself regularly dealing with an entitled customer, who would put everyone through one complaint after another only to never show gratitude. She never even tipped her servers despite constantly dining at this establishment during her weekly routine.

Unfortunately, she would end up getting the same treatment from her bartender where she least expected it… outside of the restaurant.

This all happened without planning on the bartender's part, but in this tight-knit community, people were bound to run into each other constantly. This turn of events was, in some ways, inevitable, which just goes to show that this entitled customer should never have chosen to make enemies with this guy in the first place.

One day, he ran into her at her place of work, which was at the local mall. When she made the mistake of giving him far more change than he deserved, the bartender was on his way to do the right thing and return the extra money, until she decided to show her true colors once again. That outburst made him change his mind…

‘I can't thank those sweet cats enough for teaching me how kind cats can really be.’: American dog person leaves home for Europe to unknowingly become pawrent to two cat children and fall in love with the species they once feared

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 13:00

Dog people, they just cannot seem to stop falling in love with cats. Honestly, to begin with we were happy to see them convert to the right side of things. But with time, we have begun to feel as though we might need to implement more screening processes or at least make them pass some sort of test before they become feline pawrents, because the sheer numbers of them that make the conversion from canine connoisseur to feline fanatic is getting out of hand.

Case in point, the story that we have lined up today, which tells the tale of an American dog person who developed a profound love of cats when she moved to Europe. Not that the continent has all too much to do with her feline conversion, but nonetheless it was there that she learned to love not one, but two cute cattos and finally understood the unquestionable superiority of cats over dogs. Another one bites the dust as they say…

Man fed up with tool-hoarding neighbor “borrowing” and losing his equipment, so he asks to borrow his lawnmower and "forgets" to return the keys, neighbor never asks to borrow anything again: 'I left them with Jimmy. He said he’d mail them to you'

Fail Blog - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 12:00

Losing is often just 'borrowing' with minimal care and consideration involved…Well at least that's how this man sees it! His neighbor's daily hobby seems to be walking on over to his side of the fence, requesting new items to borrow. Except his definition of borrowing has forgotten the part when one returns the items. So yes, as you'd expect, there are a lot of awkward morning 'hello, do you still have my screwdriver back there?'

I guess that's the price you pay when you know that your neighbor can't keep your tools safe, lending them to other people without your permission, yet you still lend it to them! It might just be showing them that you don't really care about whether or not they treat your belongings like precious gold, or some of Tuesday night's left-over Pad Thai…But that's a boundary for him to decide on…And the boundary he has chosen seems to be in the form of petty revenge…many people's go-to!

20 Heart Melting Meowments from Cute Cat Birthday Parties to Purr-k Up Your Day

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 12:00

Welcome back to another working week and all the woes that come with it. But this week we are trying our best to stay pawsitive and kick things off with a little bit of a party, a cat birthday party to be specific. Because there is nothing more similar than having to go to work on Monday morning than a cat living through their birthday. Neither of you want to be doing what you are doing, but you know very well that your access to food and shelter very much depend upon your participation.

And so you are left with little option other than to lean in and close your eyes until it's over. Heck, sometimes it is even a little fun. Well, the cat birthday parties more so than the office on a Monday. And while cats might not enjoy getting dressed in silly hats and outfits, we most certainly do, so we figured we would make this Monday that little bit easier with a heartwarming collection of cute cats on their birthdays.

Work-from-home employee rebels after boss starts tracking mouse and keyboard activity: 'Remote work was supposed to be about trust and flexibility'

Fail Blog - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 11:00

Whatever happened to the concept of trusting your employees to get their work done at their own pace?

There were glimpses of productivity within workplace environments over the past several years, as workers began to demand more autonomy and flexibility in order to fulfill their responsibilities while maintaining a healthier work-life balance. Of course, several industries and companies were resistant to this cultural shift, but in 2020, those adjustments were deemed necessary.

However, in the years that followed, a steady cultural regression ensued. That certainly was the case for this fully remote employee, who always excelled and exceeded when it came to his work responsibilities. Still, he desired a sense of flexibility to be able to meet those goals without going insane.

That distance, trust, and respect from upper management fell apart after they decided to enforce a new system that tracked mouse and keyboard activity for remote employees. Let's just say that this method of monitoring employees was not well-received.

Woman finds a friendly feline in her workplace parking spot after her two dogs passed the rainbow bridge, takes the cat in to fill the precious pet hole in her house: 'She's definitely not feral'

LOL Cats - Mon, 12/01/2025 - 11:00

We have a feeling the Cat Distribution System works double shifts since winter is here now. And it's totally understandable - cats stranded in the cold with no warm place to call home is not a wanted situation. Not for the cats, and also for cat lovers worrying about all the sweet strays wandering the streets in low temperatures. Finding a warm home for a cat is like the most successful mission a person can make - and the CDS does it daily. Now in overtime, since winter has already come.

But it's not only the cats who feel the warmth of home when they're adopted. Humans' hearts might need some warm mending from time to time, and a cat at home is a purrfect solution. Take this one woman from below, who found this cute cat "parking" in her workplace parking spot, just after her two dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. Losing two pets leaves a hole in any pet pawrent's heart - but healing it through a CDS cat adoption is a winter-negating warmth like no other.

What can we say - every cat lover already knows that cats are pawfessional heart healers, leaving their gentle paw prints on our moods, vibes, and minds. Adopting a cat is not only healing for our souls - but it also saves a soul from the cold outside.
