'The theater exploded with laughter': 30+ Moviegoers who couldn't resist shouting at the screen

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 12:00

Have you ever seen a movie so bad that the crowd starts heckling the film? It's rare, but it happens. Depending on the theater you go to and the time you attend, you might find yourself laughing along to the audience's own version of Riff Trax instead of the actual movie.

There's a sweet spot for hecklers. The movie has to be so bad that most people aren't enjoying it; a few people have even walked out while shaking their heads and talking about getting refunded. (If someone starts yelling at the screen during a good movie, they'll probably get a hard side-eye from everyone around them.)

If you've ever been to a really bad movie or a showing like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," you'll know that audience input can make or break a showing. It's great to go to a horror movie where the audience is gasping in fear, or a comedy where people are hooting and hollering with laughter. It's all about the togetherness and the celebration of cinema, for better or for worse.

Check out these hilarious anecdotes in the r/AskReddit query below. Next up, read the crazy customer chronicles as told by retail workers, like on person who had a full-scale meltdown over a bill… at the wrong store.

'She spouted all types of lies to HR': Threatened manager tries to push out star employee, employee exposes boss's incompetence

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 11:00

Picture this: your manager is incompetent, you do most of their work for the better part of the year, and then, she tries to fire you!

That's right. You would think the final part of that journey would be a well-deserved raise or promotional opportunity. Perhaps some acknowledgment of all this hard work and going above and beyond would have been nice. Instead of gratitude, all this manager felt at the end of the day was threatened.

This Redditor shared how she managed to come out of this toxic workplace environment (yes, it was a startup) relatively unscathed. Not only would she do all of her boss's reporting for her, but also her boss would ask the Redditor to "dumb it down" so she could then explain all the data analyses to the higher-ups as if they were her own findings. Of course, when the Redditor discovered that her manager was trying to get rid of her, she made it widely known who was really behind her team's output.

Keep scrolling below for the consequences and fallout. For more stories like this, check out this post about another employee who got back at their micromanaging boss.

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 10:00

There's not a soul in America who could avoid news of the solar eclipse this week. It happens rarely in the USA, so folks were frantic to get the best spot to damage their retinas and stare at the flaming orb that keeps our planet alive. Although it's not tough for many of us to imagine, this mania also meant that there were businesses ready to capitalize on the sudden demand.

But the person in our next story was more than prepared to derail the economic efforts of a shady hotel after they canceled her $65 reservation and price gouged her new stay to $700/night. Scroll for the entire story of how a group of good friends used the powers that be to pull an uno reverse on a scammy hotel chain, leaving them with empty rooms and a total eclipse of the heart.

‘I can’t stand it': Hybrid employee complains about going into the office 1 day a week, leading to a discussion about working from home

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 09:00

When the hybrid model of working was first introduced, people discovered a new way of living. Suddenly you could do what you had been doing from your dark, grey cubicle at work, from the comfort of your home. You didn't need to take a 1-hour commute, which saved you time, energy, and actually gave you more time to work. But over time, companies have been snatching employees up and dragging them back to full-time… or have they? You tell me.

One person took to Reddit and complained about working 1 day a week from home. I rolled my eyes, thinking how lucky this person was. How on earth could you complain about going 1 day a week to work? When they described their commute, I rolled my eyes again. Boo hoo, half an hour. Seriously, you've got it good, pal. But then some people actually made some pretty good points in the comments. Check out the entire story below, and then read about entertaining bosses told by employees who had had enough.

17 Hilariously Misplaced Kitteh Cats That Are Too Cool For School

LOL Cats - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 09:00

When it comes to cats, one thing's for sure: they're the ultimate rule-breakers. They always find a way to defy our expectations. In the spirit of feline hilarity and all things wholesome goodness, we've rounded up a whole bunch of hilarious misplaced kittehs who are way too cool

From cats hidden in everyday household spots like filing cabinets all the way to even more random locations such as helmets, in the toilet paper packaging, among others.  this collection was curated with lots of love and a hefty dose of humor. Cats are gonna cat, and there's no changing that. But hey, we wouldn't have it any other way. Our felines are our babies and we encourage them to be themselves, fortunately, they do not need much encouragement from us. They march to the beats of their own drums and hide in the most random spots, waiting for us humans to find them misplaced and in the midst of mischief.

'I had to politely tell her how ridiculous it looked': Kid prevents parent from baking disastrous TikTok recipe

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 08:00

Today is a great day to remember not to believe everything you read online. This is especially true if you're swiping through social media apps like TikTok and saving the recipes for later. A lot of them might look good on camera, but they won't actually taste good.

I actually do sometimes make TikTok recipes but only by first looking up a proper recipe for it elsewhere. For example, there was a parmesan potato recipe going around that looked excellent, so I just looked up a proper recipe online, and made it that way. It's so easy and very delicious! I just don't have enough faith in the influencers who make attention-grabbing food, but I do trust the experts who write for cooking websites. As long as you follow this rule, you can make any TikTok recipe without having to sacrifice a meal.

As this person learned, you've got to be careful when trying new recipes online. Hopefully, they can teach their mom about ragebait, or videos meant to garner engagement by cooking in the worst ways possible. These videos are just meant to be flashy, they don't actually work in the real world! Unless you want a pan full of milky raw noodles combined with a scorched log of faux cheese product… don't trust the influencers without doing your research.

Comedic Compilation of Lifeguard Kitties On Duty Protecting Their Humans From The Big Bad Bathtub

LOL Cats - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 08:00

Hey, friends! Are you familiar with the phenomenon of 'lifeguard kitties'? Cats are curious creatures and think of the bathroom as like their private detective office. They're intrigued by the sound of running water and love exploring the mysterious bathtub terrain. Plus, they're natural guardians, so when they see their human vulnerable in the tub, they feel the need to stand guard. It's like they're saying, "Don't worry, I've got your back, even in the weirdest of places!"

They tend to do the same while humans use the bathroom. I can't be in the bathroom for more than 30 seconds before I hear a cute little pitter-patter of paws swiping at the bathroom door. Of course, I then allow the cats in to protect me for the duration of my bathroom break. and the cuties we are featuring today are adopting the same pattern of behavior towards the bathtub breaks, we love it!

'You can't do this': Irresponsible dude abandons cat with friend, then refuses to answer calls for 3 months or pay for cat's vet visit

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 07:00

One dude was the worst kind of friend you could have. Let's call him Ken. See, Ken had a friend by the name of… let's say, Scott. Ken and Scott were buddies, and when Ken got himself into a tight spot at the ripe age of 28, Scott let him sleep at his place (for free), bought him groceries, and even took care of his cat. All of which he really didn't have to do. Ken didn't work, didn't want to look for a job, and one day, disappeared, leaving his cat with Scott, who didn't particularly want his cat.

What are you going to do when your friend abandons their animal and dumps the responsibility on you? It wasn't easy, and Scott didn't know what to do. That's when this cat got sick… and needed a vet visit, ASAP. But Scott wasn't rich, and the cat wasn't his, and he didn't want to pay for a vet visit for a cat that wasn't his.

Below you can read all about what happened and then check out these entertaining boss stories told by employees.

"Most responsible kitten in the world": Kitten Found In A Box Watching Over 3 Orphaned Kittens, Trying To Take Care Of Them As Best As He Could

LOL Cats - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 07:00

There is this myth - something entirely made up and unbelievable - that cats are selfish creatures, that cats don't care, that cats only love when they can get something out of that love. But we know better. We, cat owners, we know that cats love, and they love hard. The story that you are about to read today, it is not the first story that we have seen of a cat taking care of a kitten that is not its own. We have seen it countless times. We have seen everything from cats adopting kittens from other litters to cats saving babies from freezing to cats adopting lynxes and raising them alongside their kittens

Cats care. They're just picky about who they care for. But when you are chosen by a cat, nothing can undo it. And Binx, the hero of this story, has clearly chosen his new family.

Retail job candidate reports their power-tripping interviewer to HR: 'I hope she calls me back so I can decline'

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 06:00

Bad experiences are a dime a dozen when it comes to interviewing for a retail role; in no other line of work are there so many desperate interviewing managers looking for such a high level of effort and experience for such minimal pay.

Usually, if an interviewer takes issue with you, there's no coming back from it, no avenue of recourse; after all, they're the ones doing the judging, and you hold very little control over the situation outside of your ability to walk away. Yet, sometimes, a hidden option might be available to you—one that might not be readily apparent. Depending on the organization, a larger one preferably and certainly not a smaller one where you're probably being interviewed by the owner, you might be able to make a report of your interview experience to the company's HR department if the interviewer's behavior was unprofessional or otherwise might have been out of line with the organization's values.

The reality is that some managers, and organizations on the whole, want to hire people whom they know they can manipulate. This candidate ran into one of these managers when, from the outset of the interview, the manager was immediately hostile towards her—and it didn't get better from there.

The candidate returned the next day to share an email she had written that she was planning on sending to the parent organization. See this update from item 21 onwards in the images below.

'I'm quitting tomorrow': Employee discovers her boss planted a hidden video camera, bails without notice

Fail Blog - Sun, 04/14/2024 - 05:00

You know that feeling everyone occasionally gets at work that you're being watched 24/7? Well, what if you suddenly discovered that this was actually the case?

Sometimes when you have a micromanager for a boss, you get the feeling that someone is breathing down your neck and following your every move, as if they are just waiting to point out an error or give you a hard time about the way in which you go about fulfilling your daily responsibilities at work. This obviously does not make for a pleasant work environment, but I suppose I'll take the feeling of being watched all the time over the reality of that actually being the case.

This worker at a small shop of just three employees discovered that when her boss wasn't around, she was surveilling the Redditor and their coworker via a hidden video camera she planted in the shop. The worst part is that when their boss unveiled this information, she did it casually as if it wasn't the giant reveal that it was. Thankfully, this employee had enough self-respect and freedom to call their boss out for crossing a major line.

Keep scrolling below for the full play-by-play. When you're done, feel free to take a look at this post about another micromanager's comeuppance.

'Does she also send scathing texts to his hairdresser?': Successful side-hustle causes a stir in the workplace when a jealous wife finds out her husband eats lunch made by another woman

Fail Blog - Sat, 04/13/2024 - 21:00

There's nothing more delicious than a home-cooked meal after a long morning at work. Not only does your lunch break provide a reprise from the laborious load of the day,  but it also gives coworkers a chance to mingle, relax, and chow down on some decent grub. In the workplace in our next story, warehouse laborers live a spoiled life, enjoying home-cooked lunches from a fellow coworker who makes lunches in bulk and sells them to her buddies for $10 a pop. Could it be any better than that?

Not only do these employees forego the drama of cooking in the morning before work or meal-prepping 100 lunches on a sad Sunday afternoon, but they enjoy the yummy spoils of another person's kitchen troubles without the price tag or caloric intake of eating at a restaurant. But one employee's wife didn't see it that way. Threatened by the romantic implications of making her husband lunch, she sent scathing messages to the lunch lady, threatening to bring down her side hustle if she continued to sell her husband lunches.

Fired up yet? Keep scrolling for the entire story of how one woman went way over the line in a desperate attempt to tighten her grip on her hungry husband's leash.

'I was looking forward to a 70% pay bump': Employee jeopardizes a promotion after getting caught by the CEO playing Pokémon Go on his phone

Fail Blog - Sat, 04/13/2024 - 20:00

There's nothing worse than that sinking feeling in your stomach when you get caught doing something you're not supposed to be doing. It makes you feel like a scolded child hiding late-night comic books under the covers after bedtime. Most of us learn pretty quickly how to hide our secretly debaucherous activities to avoid feeling this way, but the guy in our next story totally failed to follow the fail-safes of secrecy in the workplace, causing him to nearly lose a promotion.

We all know that you're not 'supposed to' be on your phone at work, but who isn't? Everyone scrolls memes, texts their friends, and enjoys the perks of having a pocket-sized computer with them at all times (in fact, you're probably scrolling on your phone right now!). But when the CEO is around, it's time for all the hooligans to whip into shape and pretend they don't even have a phone. Suddenly everyone's a model citizen–except for the dingus playing Pokemon Go under the table when the CEO surveys his desk. Scroll for the entire cringe-worthy story of how a guy risked everything at work just to catch a wild Caterpie.

A Piping Hot Meowthful of Wacky Cat Soup to Celebrate Kitties Being Weird Little Guys

LOL Cats - Sat, 04/13/2024 - 19:00

Cats are weird… Like, so weird. There's a reason that cat lovers are continually mystified by our cat's antics. We have no idea what they're doing and what sort of cat logic lies behind their strange little ways. Frankly, that mystery is a part of why we love them so much. Just when you think you have a cat figured out, they frantically skitter around the house, slipping, sliding, and zooming with manic fervor like the catnip just ran out. Gadzooks he's at it again!

Funnily enough, we love our weirdos even more when they're extra odd. When our cats inexplicably climb onto the Roomba or when they attack our ankles from under the cover of the couch, they enchant us even more. So if you're looking for that fiery spirit in the form of some funny cat meowments, look no further! Keep scrolling to enjoy a piping hot bowl of wacky cat soup that'll satisfy the weirdo craving that lies deep in the cat lover's soul.
