One piece of advice that we will give you, cat owners to cat owners, about getting into new relationships is: listen to your cats. Your cats are the best judges of character when it comes to your future partners. We mean that seriously. It's a sign. If your cat gets along with your new partner, that's a sign. And if your cat doesn't get along with your new partner, that's a sign too. And more than anything, the way your partner treats your cat is the biggest sign of all.

Our cats are like our babies. People may snort when we say that, but it's true. We love them like they are our own. And we expect our partners, whether they love cats or not, to, at the very least, treat our cats with respect. That's the baseline. If you promise to feed our cats when we are away on vacation, we expect you to not forget to do it because you were playing video games, and we cannot believe that is something that actually has to be said. 

This HOA president finally discovered the limits to his authority.

This community happened to be located in an area where there were frequent hot air balloon landings. This became common practice, and everyone in the neighborhood was accustomed to these landings, provided that they were handled safely.

Apparently, one morning, there was another safe balloon landing on one neighbor's five-acre property. No one was harmed or disturbed, and therefore, no one thought anything of it… except for the disgruntled president of the local homeowner's association.

This grumpy individual decided that morning that for whatever reason, he was going to put an end to this practice. Without holding a meeting and administering a vote with the other HOA board members, this man proceeded to send an email blast to everyone in the neighborhood forbidding them from granting any balloon landings in the area from here on out.

This, of course, was a remarkable display of audacity on several levels. First of all, he didn't have the authority to enforce a rule that was not passed by the other board members. Second of all, and more importantly, he had no authority to tell the community to disregard federal aviation regulations. You can imagine how this ultimately went down…

A scholarship is an incredible achievement that's extremely hard to come by…So if one is lucky enough to receive one throughout school or university, it's important to use it responsibly if one is given direct control over the lump sum. There might be other factors in your life, other than your education, where you would prefer to spend that money, but it's important to remember what it is intended for. Providing you with a sufficient education so that you eventually can afford to nurture those other areas in your life financially. 

And if you do receive a large amount of money strictly intended for tuition, you may come across people who may try to persuade you to spend it on other things…such as them! Take it from this older sister who was just gifted an amazing scholarship. After receiving the money, she was suddenly bombarded with shopping requests and demands from her teenage sister…'But can't you buy me this'…'But I really want that' …However, what this teenage girl is struggling to understand is that her sister's tuition is solely for educational expenses, not the newest limited-edition Sephora mascara or Gap Christmas sweater…It's called looking long-term!

A woman who runs a cat sanctuary for "unadoptable, feral, and special needs" cats never turns away from someone asking her help to rescue a cat. So when a woman called saying she saw two cats darting across the street, this woman went into action. She found the two and brought them to the sanctuary where she will make sure they find a good home. 

Then she was sent to find another cat. As she was meowing in the woods to find them, she heard it coming from a nearby tree. She went over, opened up a can of cat food and started meowing trying to convince the cat to come out. As it emerged from the bottom of a tree, her heart sank. It was an itty bitty kitty. No more than 8 weeks, which means she still needs her mama! Turns out, those two cats she had rescued earlier were her parents. The family got reunited and are safe and warm at the sanctuary. 

Though she focuses on cats who aren't really able to be adopted, she still is going to help find these sweet beautiful feline friends a new home to live their 9 lives out in a warm home with lots of love! 

When something is handed down to you as a gift or thoughtful gesture, it's important to treat it as if you bought it yourself! Just because you didn't spend money on it doesn't mean someone else didn't. So when this older sister went off to university and generously left her car for her 21-year-old sister to use, she was confident it was in good hands. Yet, she couldn't have possibly been more wrong.

Stripped, towed, and ultimately claimed by the tow yard, the younger sister couldn't have cared less about the car, despite knowing how much it had meant to her older sister, as the first car she had purchased herself! She wasn't completely unaware of her disrespect, even going so far as to send staged old pictures that made the car look like it was in perfect condition. But when the older sister returned from university, it didn't take long for her to realize that a giant, four-wheeled, 4,000-pound item was missing from the driveway.

While we love to find out what our most played song was, and which podcast accompanied us during the commute to work, there are other recaps we would do anything to get the chance to view. Like a recap of how many times we gave our cats little head kisses, or the longest streak of uninterrupted cat meows at 2 AM.

Our lives with our pets are never dull; they are filled with fun and hissterical moments. Getting the chance to scroll through a recap of the awwbsolutely best moments of the year with our beloved fur babies could be an actual dream. But since no app or platform can really count all the time we gave our cats weird nicknames, or the times our cats threw up on the carpet, we will have to find other ways to "wrap" our year with our fluffy felines.

Someone who likes metal music are usually called a "metalhead." They like fast and angry music, dark and gothic decor, and have macabre hobbies. Take, for instance, this metalhead who likes to search for roadk*ll and then memorialize their bones in beautifully decorated and honorable works of art. This time, however, he didn't come across your common side of the road scene, he came across an orange kitten. 

The cat seemed frozen to the core. But, as many medical professional say, no one is gone until the are warm and gone. That is because hypothermia can easily make someone appear like they have already left this world. But this kitten had not left yet, so the metalhead decided to let his sweet side shine and work hard at rescuing this little baby. 

Thankfully, he was successful! He spent hours warming him up, manually pumping his heart, and feeding him. By the time they actually reached the vet, the baby was fully back to life. There is definitely a metal song in this tale somewhere. But for now, all us cat people are ready to start a metal band and call it Frozen Kitten Necromancer. We are all metalheads now and this kitten is our mascot! 

It's only the first week of December and you already want to clock out for the holidays. This is the time of year where it is perfectly professional to respond with "we'll circle back to this after the holidays." It's a difficult time to trudge through and find any sort of motivation to work. So let your cat comfort you, they are the purrfessionals in that after all. Your boss asks you to come in early? "Sorry, boss. Little Ketchup attacked the Christmas tree. Going to be a little late cleaning that up." Have a million emails coming in for projects that will take way longer than a few weeks to figure out? Then, there are those colleagues who try to push these additional duties onto you so they don't have to complete them. That's our favorite type of bad employee: they will never admit that they are lazy and incorrect in their ways, and instead try to make everyone else seem like the bad guy and themselves a victim.

If you've ever had a colleague who volunteers you for things without asking, then the story below might bring up some old, negative feelings. The colleague in question repeatedly volunteers this employee for small tasks at first, but then starts offering their auditing services (even though they already stay late in the office to complete their original taskload). Cats are famously fluid creatures, and every cat owner has witnessed moments where their pet seems to forget that bones even exist. Imagine telling your boss, 'Hey, thanks for hiring me, but I don't really need to be here'…Well, that's basically what this 47-year-old ex-retiree wanted to tell his younger boss, give or take a few polite words…He just re-entered the workplace for "finding purpose" reasons, making it painfully clear that he does not need the money that comes with working a job…But does that mean that due to this, he is willing to put up with a lot less in the workplace? Most certainly. We mean, it makes sense…If we didn't actually need our salaries at the end of the month, would we put up with doing half the work, pressures, and potential drama that comes with working for someone else?

However, just because he has this privilege of not having to worry,  doesn't mean he's suddenly become the company's CEO, granted the power to make his own rules and limitations! Maybe it's the 6 months he took off from working, but it seems this IT employee has forgotten how the workplace hierarchy operates. Demanding autonomy and flexibility the moment you enter an entry-level IT position is highly unlikely to get you in any boss's good books. Regardless of how hard you may try to hack the ranking system! 

Imagine opening your ride app and discovering your driver is a cat. Not just any cat, but one sitting proudly behind the wheel with the confidence of someone who definitely should not be operating a vehicle. Cat Uber would run on its own very special schedule. Your ride might arrive early, or it might arrive an hour late because your driver stopped to stare at a bird. Either way, you'd get in the car because how could you not?

The ride itself would be an adventure. Some cat drivers would insist on the windows being cracked so they can sniff everything that moves. Others would refuse to start driving until you give them a head scratch. The really ambitious ones might take a shortcut that is absolutely not a shortcut, but they look so proud of themselves you just let it happen.

Payment wouldn't be money. It would be treats, compliments, and maybe a few chin rubs. And the moment you step out, your cat driver would give you that slow blink of approval, as if to say you were a perfectly acceptable passenger. Five stars, obviously.

We all struggle with maintaining a workload that we can handle, and there are many factors we take into consideration when we build our work schedule. It's important not to overload ourselves, not to take on tasks that are outside our job description, while still doing enough to prove ourselves to our bosses and ensure we get to keep our jobs.

If we try to add on top of all that the workload of a coworker, the whole delicate system can crumble.

The employee in the story below made the mistake of agreeing to take over a coworker's tasks when they left work early one day, and before they knew it, it became a habit. The coworker would leave work hours before the shift ended, and expect this employee to simply do his job for him.

After that happened a few times, the employee put their foot down and refused to encourage this behavior any longer. This led the entitled coworker to turn to the boss and complain about the employee's refusal to "be a team player". As if he were the poster child of a team player…

As the nights grow colder and quieter, we all need something to get us out of our winter funk. It's hard to think of a more condescending way to demand your team come into the office than having ChatGPT write them a bullet-pointed email about why they should actually ignore a serious weather forecast. 

Although it doesn't seem to bother a lot of its users, ChatGPT and other AI chatbots have this saccharine, cloying way of writing that is just so infantilizing. It comes off as so pedantic that I truly don't understand how anyone could actually like it. But there are people like this boss, who asked ChatGPT to tell the employees to haul themselves into the office, despite all signs pointing towards an impending blizzard! 

The email, which you can read below, tells employees that they should come in (at 8 AM!), but it also tries to meet them "halfway": they get to wear sweatpants and see the office dog. Wow, what a super great reward!!! That will totally make them less resentful and worried as they drive cautiously through snow and ice. They'll be so super thrilled to still be paying for gas, lunch, and/or ticket fares as they attempt that perilous, sweatpants-clad trek to the office. I bet they can't wait to scrape ice off their windshield at 6 AM! This boss deserves a nice pat on the head for being such a caring person. 

Of course, since this entitled boss used AI to "write" this email, it's just… off. If it snows for 4 hours straight in the middle of the workday, your commute home is just not going to look like your commute in. There is 4 hours' worth of snow on the ground! It is going to be cold and icy and dangerous to drive! It's infuriating to watch this chatbot launder a weather prediction to mean the exact opposite of what is actually supposed to happen. 

Burr, it's cold outside! There's something dialectically magical about winter nights. There's nothing cozier than a warm home protected from the dark and cold trying to barge in from outside. The soft glow of lamps in frosty windows, the promise of warmth waiting indoors can cause even the most summer-loving person to transition to being a winter girly. Even the most peaceful winter evening becomes infinitely better when coalesced with the gentle charm of sleepy, whiskered, pawdorable cats. Cats are basically the coziest creatures ever, so why not incorporate them into your snowy, dozy, cozy adventure of cat meme scroll?
