It's never easy to lose a cat, even if you know the cat is alive and well.

Usually, the Cat Distribution System makes the lives of people and cats meowgnificent - matching cats in need to the people who will give them love, care, and a forever home. But sometimes, it brings some difficult situations to deal with. You see, the CDS is not purrfect, but it makes the most out of a situation a cat's in - even if it means the person's experience is harder.

Just like in this case - this person was co-CDSing a cat, who belonged to his neighbors. The neighbors were probably a very standard cat family, but for the cat it was not enough. So the CDS sent him to spend some time with the person next door. For over 13 years. Essentially co-parenting the cat. So when he discovered the family was moving out, he was left heartbroken. But how could he not? Luckily for him, though, the online feline family is always at the ready, offering advice, a shoulder to cry on, and a warm virtual hug of compassion and understanding.

Some grandparents try to provide a different energy than the parents of their grandkids. If the parents are strict, grandparents might try to lighten the tension. However, this kid's grandmother took his mother's intensity and dialed it up to a 10. 

All it would take is for one kind soul to give Jerry a chance.

Imagine living your life, all happy and normal, and then boom, everything changes. You lose your hoomans, your family, and every sense of security you thought you had. Your whole life falls through the floor, and you have no power to do anything about it.

That's what happened to Jerry. At 5 years old, he was left at a PetSmart goomer, and his family never returned for him. To make matters even worse, his family abandoned his brother in a completely different location, separating the one thing he might have pawssibly been able to hold on to from his old life. After that, everything changed.

PetSmart took him in, but it's hard to convince people to adopt a 5-year-old cat. Most people come looking to adopt kittens, and that's totally understandable. Kittens are adorable, but that makes cats like Jerry feel invisible. He stayed, and stayed, and stayed at PetSmart, until the employees decided he just needed a little bit of help for people to see how sweet he really is. They wrote a letter describing his tragic abandonment story, and it went viral online. After that, their inbox was flooded with adoption applications for Jerry. 

We don't know where Jerry ended up, but we're pretty sure he's back to living the good life as the center of a new family's life. And that's exactly what he deserves. 

Nothing is worse than having to spend 8 hours a day in a tiny office with someone who drives you crazy. So when this paralegal found out that her coworker was duping the system, she jumped at the chance to report her and get her fired.

Let's start with the good news. The good news is that it's already Friday. The bad news is that we still have 7 hours and 59 minutes until it's the weekend. And those 7 hours and 59 minutes are the most excruciating hours of the whole week. Seconds feel like minutes, minutes feel like hours, and hours feel like days. You're sure you're getting so much done, time is flying, and then you look back at the clock, and only 20 minutes have passed.

The indoor-outdoor cat is a real debate in the community, with understandable explanations for both positions. But one thing that we think everyone could agree on is that you do not force an indoor cat to go outside. And you especially don't do it against the cat owner's wishes. You don't have to like cats to understand that letting an animal - who has never been out before - out of the house is dangerous. Indoor cats are spoiled and happy to be spoiled. They are dependent on us, and no matter how curious they might be about the outside world, we know - and we think they know too - that they wouldn't be able to live outside on their own. 

We don't know what could have possibly led this man to do what he did - to purposefully hold the door open for a curious cat and let them out. His girlfriend has explicitly told him not to do that before, and he still did. Now, whether he did it because he doesn't care about the cat or doesn't care about her doesn't matter. Either way, her reaction was on point. 

After his own car got totaled, this uncle decided he wanted his "old" car back. Too bad it's been in a family member's care for literally 3 years now!

Life becomes very difficult when you're used to driving your car everywhere and then suddenly, it's wrecked! You have no car any more. How do you get to work? How do you get groceries? How will you shuttle your kids to school and all their activities? And how do you get yourself a replacement vehicle as fast as humanly possible? 

We love it when the online cat community comes together to get a cat adopted. 

This has to be one of our favorite things about the online cat communities, and there are many things that we love about them. Cats are so popular online. Stories about them go viral all the time. It's just amazing for us to watch our communities use this power that we have for something as pure as helping a cat find its forever home. And it happens all the time.

Do you remember Fishstopper? The sad cat who went viral online, and because of that virality, finally got adopted and had some of that sadness leave his eyes. And what about Perdita? She was known as the "world's worst cat" online, but once posts about her started gaining attention, she got hundreds of adoption applications, and finally, a forever home where she would actually be appreciated. And just yesterday, a new kitty went viral - Dobby, a cat with four ears and a curled tail, whose fosters now have to go through hundreds of applications to see who is going to be his forever human. 

We have so much power in the cat communities online, and we are happy to report that we always use this power for good - to help cats get the lives that they deserve.

While everyone here at I Can Haz Cheezburger is a talented writer, we all possess other skills we take a great deal of pride in. Some of us are talented performers, others are gifted makeup artists, and there are a few who carry a love for arts and crafts. The one thing we can tell you for sure is that we always try to expand our horizons and find new hobbies that enlighten our days.

A recent activity we all decided to try is the art of making flowers out of pipe cleaners. It is an awwdorable trend that found its way to us, and we decided it would be fun to try and do it all together.

Now, as we've mentioned, we all possess different sets of skills, and some of us are simply better at certain things than others, and that is completely fine. So when we tell you that some hoomans made the most beautiful bouquets out of pipe cleaners, while others made flowers that look more like spiders than anything else, we mean it. However, even if one belonged to the latter group, we all had a blast. Everyone learned a skill, laughed, and had their day brightened up thanks to this activity. And even though most of us will not go near a pipe cleaner ever again, we are always open to new experiences and hobbies that come our way.
